Seo Hyo-rim confirms Me Too, Flower!
by | September 26, 2011 | 20 Comments

This drama cracks me up; after a whole bunch of names were announced as probable cast members for Me Too, Flower!, each of those actors’ representatives came out hastily to say, No, the deal isn’t final yet, we’re not yet decided, there’s been no contract, wait no wait! And then, one by one, they all confirmed the casting anyway. Ha!

First to sign on was Lee Jia as temperamental policewoman Bong-sun, followed by Kim Jae-won playing her two-faced, “undercover boss” love interest Jae-hee. Han Go-eun joined the show shortly thereafter as a businesswoman CEO who takes an active role in helping Jae-hee cultivate his career, and now Seo Hyo-rim takes on the role of “cute material girl” Kim Dal, step-sister to our heroine. Dal is ambitious and vain, but in an endearing way, which makes me think she’s a lot more like her adorable Sungkyunkwan Scandal character than her snotty Scent of a Woman role. I hope I hope.

Dal comes to live with unni Bong-sun after running into some tough times. She shows interest in the young chaebol Jae-hee (Kim Jae-won), whom Bong-sun knows to be a mere parking attendant working at a store near her police station. Dal also strikes up an acquaintanceship with an older man, played by the always wonderful drama veteran Jo Min-ki.

Seo Hyo-rim said, “I really like the characters and script, which is why I joined this drama right after finishing my last one. Dal has an unpredictable charm, which I hope you’ll enjoy.”

Me Too, Flower! is still finalizing the rest of its cast; idol boys Nickhun and Lee Ki-kwang were both rumored to be looking at the drama, and both were part of the mass casting denials. Who wants to bet they both end up joining anyway? If we’re following the trend, they’ll be hopping onboard any day now.

The drama, which comes from the My Name Is Kim Sam-soon scriptwriter, will air on MBC in early November.

This is rounding up to be an interesting drama if all the above sign on.

Seo looks darling in that picture!

    sigh..ok i guess I’m watching now…

Too bad it doesn’t seem like she’ll be the main female lead. I would’ve loved to see Seo Hyo-rim go at it as the “temperamental policewoman”. But at least she’ll be cute and bubbly, as long as it’s the endearing kind and not the kind you want to kick in the ass for being so annoying.

LOL at your comment…how true; I have a great fear of kor actresses acting “cute”: batting eyelashes, widening eyes like every five minutes, walking/running ‘cutely’ which in many cases resembles a drunk/lunatic lurching about, pouting (urgh! I shudder as I write this and think of BOF). Their Taiwanese counterparts are horrifyingly over the top at acting cute too….they ‘bolster’ their ‘cute’ expressions by letting off ear-splitting screeches at regular intervals.

Obligated to at least check it out now.

the story sounds so ridiculous that my interest is extremely piqued + decently solid casting (coughLeeJiacough – though I did find her more bearable in the few episodes of Athena I saw compared to the few episodes of Style I saw)

I thought she was the lead…(hmmm….disappointed)

Haven’t seen any of Lee Jia’s dramas so I can’t say anything about her, but am excited cause KJW is in…

Okay, this might be interesting. I’m willing to give her a shot. At the end of SOAW I was only hating on her role about 30% less than at the beginning, so that’s a plus.

Oddly enough, I happened across one of her earliest acting jobs in a rather small weird thing called “SETI” with Kim Kyu Jung of SS501 – 16, 2 minute chapters of young love.

Of course, the only thing I was totally fixated on was the horrible realization that her eyebrows were just as messy in her teen years as they are now.

This girl needs a serious trip to Hot Wax Brazilian City – and yes, that IS what I’m implying. If her eyebrows are still this out of control then chances are the rest of her is too!
    Wax On, Wax Off! :)

LMAO i so very much agree with you on the eyebrows XD
It might sound vain but really someone needs to fix those things D:

Um….maybe she wants to give off a wild, untamed kind of vibe?

I admit that I had a totally irrational hatred of her character in SoaW. Every time I saw her face the claws just came out. I couldn’t help myself. :)

Can they please make SHR a lead just for once?

  13. 13 DC

She is awesome! I still want her and Joong Ki as the main couple in a drama! Hehe. KBS should totally work out a Music Bank cast with them and Hyun Woo & Min Ji as the main four for a drama. Hehe.

The script must be that good to have everyone agreeing to do this project. I’ll wait for the broadcast ver. first to give any judgement. It’s too early to tell.

YAYAY for Seo Hyo Rim!!! ^_^

I thought Seo Hyo Rim has a adorable smile and facial expression is more like sooo cute little girl, mm. =D I really admire her since that drama ‘SKKS’ and ‘Scent of a Women’ & I pray that she will able to become the leading role someday, mm!

    Hwaiting ~~!!!

I hated her character in SOAW, but even more, I hated the one-dimensionality of her characterization. SHR is a talented actress and IMO, they should have done so much more with that character.

Learning that MTF is being written by the writer of MNIKSS just made me WAY more excited about this project. Yippee!
