Mr. Chunderella, aka Lee Chun-hee, has been added to SBS’s upcoming airport drama Take Care of Us, Captain, which earlier cast Ji Jin-hee as an airline pilot and Gu Hye-sun as his co-pilot and love interest. Let’s just hope that the romancing happens off-duty, because there’s enough to ruin air travel already without having to worry that the two knuckleheads in the cockpit aren’t doing their jobs properly, isn’t there?
Lee Chun-hee plays an air traffic controller at Incheon International Airport with seven years of experience under his belt. He’s prickly and cool, but possesses a cute, playful side that sometimes crops up. He’ll add another side to the love polygon as a romantic rival for Gu Hye-sun’s affections. Again, I reiterate: I really hope all this romantic competition is off-the-clock, because two pilots and an air traffic controller are exactly the types of characters I have no patience for seeing futz up their work with personal baggage.
Lee’s character is also described as a man “who boasts the best tower control skills,” which just makes me go pfffffffffffft. Seriously, Korean dramas, not every character has to be The Best at everything, especially in fields where having A Best is a ridiculous notion. “Oh, he’s The Best salaryman ever!” “My postman? He’s not just great, he’s The Best postman in the district!” Are we basing this distinction on how many crashes he hasn’t been responsible for? Because frankly, that’s a category that shouldn’t have an award; it’s called Just Doing Your Job.
The drama follows the lives and careers of the various characters who populate the airport, from the aforementioned airline pilots, the flight crew (of whom Yoo Sun is a member), the airline executives (Honey Lee), the maintenance staff, and others. Take Care of Us, Captain will begin shooting mid-November and will premiere on January 4.

Yay for seeing Lee Chun Hee in a drama but *sigh* why this one? Now I feel obligated to check it out but there’s GHS…and I don’t like her acting style. I had to put The Musical on hold because I couldn’t handle any more of her flailing.

my dear, don’t stress yourself.. if you don’t like a drama with Goo Hye Sun in it, then don’t watch it. Simple, right? Anyway, am looking forward to her dramas… am pretty sure that i’ll be happy coz she will be constantly appearing in the boob tube with the ongoing The Musical. Fly Again & Absolute Boyfriend will be next in line.

Would this drama put some mysterious or detective elements in the stories, like Agatha Christie’s novels, or animals(snake,dogs,cats) in the plane, it definitely will be more fun than love triangle between pilot, co-pilot, controller, flight crew, it’s boring.

Yeah, I,too, do not understand why people judged dramas before it aired. It is not a remake, nobody know the plot. How well this drama is produced, written and acted remains to be seen. That determine whether a drama is good or not. Moreover this time we have a new director and scriptwriter. We do not even have past works to go by. Keeping an open mind will lead to better enjoyment .

Sigh…well, at least I hope these people actually will SEEM like they’re working in a REAL airport and not just using it as a backdrop or as an excuse to do-whatever-you-want-even-though-it-could-never-be-possible-in-a-major-international-airport-because-it’s-a-drama-and-viewers-will-swallow-it whole, a la “Airport City”. Ugh.
Chunderella! I.. might watch this but somehow my brain can’t compute that he is an actual, serious actor. He’ll just forever be clumsy Chunderella for me, especially as I am watching FO S1 right now.

I loove him. I haven’t seen Family Outing but I loved him in Gloria and this movie called The Aggressives where he was this cool older brother type figure.
I’m pretty interested in this drama, sure the plot sounds kinda meeh, but I mean..a lot of kdrama plots I thought sounded meh turned out to be pretty good. I’ll give it a shot and judge from there.
I like this actor from the very first time I saw him in a drama. I have predicted in my mind that he will do well in his career. He has a charisma of his own and I am happy to know that he is appearing with my “Most favorite” actress Go Hye Sun . Goodluck guys, I am looking forward to this project, and I will certainly watch this with my friends and family..
