Here’s a look at the romantic comedy film Couples, a funny look at modern dating through the various ways that five single people can cross paths with each other and become fated to change each other’s lives… for better or worse. The players: Lee Shi-young (Poseidon) is the heartless girlfriend who disappears one day with nothing but a text message. Kim Joo-hyuk (Terroir) plays her heartbroken puppy dog boyfriend, who tries desperately to track her down. Lee Yoon-ji (Dream High) plays a cop who still clings to the fake diamond ring her last boyfriend gave her before leaving. Gong Hyung-jin (The Duo, Runaway) plays a man who doesn’t believe that love exists, and Oh Jung-sae (Korea) is the guy who’s in love with his friend’s girl.
Directing is PD Jung Yong-ki (Once Upon a Time, The Descendants of Hong Gil-dong), and the film is described as a reversal of a reversal. Isn’t that just right back to one? Apparently it’s a maze of relationships, so enmeshed that you can’t tell where one starts and the other begins. Not sure how tricksy it actually gets, but the trailer looks zany and fun, with a cast full of really quirky characters.
Gong Hyung-jin looks like he’s going to be a scene-stealing riot the whole time, which is just par for the course for him. Kim Joo-hyuk seems like he’s playing something closer to his real personality, as evidenced by his hilarious pathetic whiny appearances on Running Man. I love both Lee Shi-young and Lee Yoon-ji, and they seem perfectly cast as opposite types of heroines — one who takes guys for a spin at will, and one who buries herself in self-conscious doubt. Looks like a good time.
Couples is playing in theaters now.

I’m definitely watching this when I can. I love Lee Shiyoung and after seeing Kim Joohyuk on RM, he’s hilarious.
That track is from Secret Garden dear
I think it’s funny how there is a kmovie called singles, and now there’s one called couples!
hahaha the scene from 1:00-1:06
Lee Yoon-ji reminds me of Audrey Tautou there.
This looks so flippin’ cute! Subbers, I will bake cookies!
Can someone tell me which drama’s OST has the music that plays when Lee Shi Young’s crying (in the trailer)?
I heard it in high kick 3 too, but can’t seem to remember which drama its from and now its bothering me LOL
It’s from Secret Garden. That OST is really catchy, it took me several days to look into that.
True! Its used a lot with Oska right?
gong hyung jin! ahhh i wanna watch this!
I really liked Gong Hyung-Jin in Dal-ja’s Spring, and I just finished watching Alone in Love (what a fabulous drama!), and he’s freaking cute and hilarious in it!
We need some more love for Alone in Love. I can’t believe I only watched it recently although it’s from 2006. Now looking forward to the writer’s new drama, and I have to go back to watch MIA.
Everyone looks perfect in their roles! <3
Wish I could watch this someday…
I better watch out for Vitamin C then…
Oh boy, looks super quirky and fun.
I LOVE the two lead actresses and have seen all the others and liked them.
I hope I can find this haha
Hahaha, this trailer seem very fuuun-comedy, keke. Good one! *thumbs-up* ^_^
Wow!!!! Lee Shi-young and Lee Yoon-ji!!! I both love them from We got married!!!
Lol, The trailer seems quite funny- gonna watch it as soon as I can!
Yeah, it certainly has a great cast and opened it’s initial weekend run in Korea as number two at the box-office. Both lead actresses are really special and fun to watch, and Lee Yoon Ji may be the best kept (not so secret) secret in all of Korean entertainment. She’s won acting awards for several projects, always demands one’s attention without being too demanding, and is just too darn cute not to like. I’m looking forward to this one and for both Lee Si-Young and Lee Yoon Ji’s careers to continue to grow…
Funny is funny no matter what age group it is targeting…. Lee Shi-young was funny in “Meet the In-Laws” too. I also recommend that Kfilm to anyone eager to watch “Couples.”
romantic comedy Couples movie is really good i like to watch them online
