Woori joins dark comedy Fortunetellers
by | November 8, 2011 | 12 Comments

Woori, who most recently played the haughty, bratty Hee-joo in You’ve Fallen For Me, has been cast in the movie Fortunetellers. It’s a horror-comedy (love that mix) that previously cast two hot up-and-comers in the movie biz, Kang Ye-won and Lee Je-hoon, and also features comedian Kim Su-ro (God of Study).

The setup sounds like potential loads of fun: The movie assembles a group of fortunetellers to a village hit by strange events, who pool their talents to get to the bottom of the mystery. Woori plays a woman with psychometry skills, enabling her to see the past by touching objects. She’s a quirky, 4-D character who also does tarot card readings and treats her pet turtle Esmerelda as her teacher. Ha! Sounds like a hoot. Woori was great at being a brat, but I think I’ll like her a lot more being an eccentric.

Fortunetellers comes from director Shin Jung-won, who directed the darkly funny killer-boar-on-the-loose horror movie Chaw, so I’m expecting this one to be fresh and funny as well. It begins filming this month.

She looked so thin in Heartstrings, but that pic ^ looks nice and healthy. I wonder if its recent….

    The movie does sound interesting.

Her acting in Heartstrings was mediocre. I didn’t like her much, she just played the typical “evil” girl who is actually soft inside. Hopefully she proves me wrong.

This movie sounds better and better.

Ya, Woori was good at being a brat in Heartstrings, but I thought she was miscast if only for the fact that everyone in the show was talking about how talented her character was in singing and performing when she was not even karaoke good…

HA! Good to know I’m not the only one who thought so.
I think she’ll do better in Fortunetellers because she probably won’t have to dance or sing. But then again, you never know with these eccentric characters.

you mean like how Kim Soo Hyun was touted as a ~*better*~ singer than most of his castmates in Dream High when he is at best, a decent one? XD

She looks much healthier now. And I think she did well in Heartstrings with what she was given. I’m looking forward to seeing her take on a meatier role.
