Yoon Eun-hye and Lee Dong-wook for Wild Romance?

This would make my day, if the casting gets confirmed: Currently two top rom-com stars, Yoon Eun-hye and Lee Dong-wook, are reported as likely candidates for Wild Romance — that recently announced romantic comedy series written by Park Yeon-seon, she of Alone in Love, Mixed-up Investigative Agency, and White Christmas fame.
I’m fully expecting a round of “It’s only a rumor” and “S/He is considering the project, but nothing is confirmed” declarations, because that seems to be the way casting news flies these days. But with Lee Dong-wook returning to TV screens after his two-year army service and Yoon Eun-hye making some drama choices that ended badly in recent years, I would be thrilled to see them in a cute, well-written project. And I have a lot of faith in writer Park to deliver a solid script.
The plot: The hero is a baseball player, the heroine a former judo athlete and current bodyguard. Their initial meeting doesn’t go so well, characterized by “unpredictable bad luck,” but develops into a romance that unfolds over the course of a baseball season. The drama incorporates the standard rom-com storyline, but also encompasses a broader vision by expanding on the characters’ lives and dreams in a fun, touching way. Or so goes the PR-speak.
(That sounds like a vague explanation, but I can already see it. I recall that concept being a fun quirk of Mixed-up Investigative Agency, and in fact, one of that drama’s trademark ending skits was based on that very idea. At the end of Episode 14, we see each of the recurring minor characters going about their daily lives, as the captions tell us: “There’s no need to force yourselves to remember these people. It’s just that they’re all the main characters in their respective lives, so they’re too busy to participate in this story, that’s all.”)
Plus, these two actors are fully capable of bringing out big laughs and wringing tears. Yes, their character descriptions sound pretty standard, but I could totally see Yoon as a judo-practicing, butt-kicking bodyguard. She didn’t get that reputation for physical strength for nuthin’, as I recall from those old days of X Man.
Wild Romance will air on KBS on Wednesdays and Thursdays. As the follow-up to Man of Honor, it premieres in January and will run for 16 episodes.

When has any of her drama flopped? Just because "Lie to Me" wasn't successful in Korea it was a bit hit international and that what matters the exposure, success, and acknowledgement from the States and China certified you have arrived! As for the drama Take care of Lady, that doesn’t reflect EH acting skills, the storyline and the character development wasn’t good.

I am VERY thankful to God for praying that Lee Dong Wook and Yoo Eun Hye will be DEFINITELY work together in a new drama someday. Well.....suddenly NOW, I expect that they will be possibly to confirmed this new drama, ofc. :) :)

Yeah. I love-love-loved her in Coffee Prince, but the rest of her dramas just can't compare. In part I feel like it's kind of out of her hands, and it ends up being the fault more of poor writing and directing than her own efforts. But there's something kind of unlikeable about her image, too, at least of the frilly good-looking popular actress that she is in the limelight.. Or maybe I'm just jealous of her looks? In any case, I fell in love with Go Eun-Chan, who was down-to-earth and didn't care about appearances, and when I realized that the actress was a bit of the opposite I've always felt a residual sense of betrayal.

i don't agree with your statement on YEH is the opposite of a downtoearth person who doesn't care ......
if you see her twitter, x-man, interviews, people love her because she's a down to earth, easy to know person. and even in xman she was the one who let go of the girly image and get down with the games like wrestling that other female contestant are too feminine to participate.
they don't call her YEH Warrior for nothing. she even beat Kang Ho Dong in a wrestling game in x-man
p/s - i really feel the judo athelete character is perfect for YEH!

sorry but i have to disagree... and agree with celinae.
I too loved her in X Man and Goong.. but that was before she got FAMOUS. After that she was different... she changed and i didn't even bother to watch Coffee Prince (even with the gorgeous Gong Yoo, i couldn't bring myself to watch her). i think since then, she has not have a hit movie or drama (both LTM and My Fair lady was a total flop and not counting her other movies). BTW, i don't think we can continue to blame the director or scriptwriters for all her flops...

About My Fair Lady...I love how everyone calls it a flop but in reality the ratings were in the mid-teens and 19% for the finale. The storyline SUCKED but it didn't flop.

@whateva you keep on saying the word YEH and 'flop" now let me ask you how many FLOPS do your favorite Kang Ji Hwan and Sung Yuri have? Almost all of their dramas flopped so focus on your idol's flops first before you focus on Yoon Eun Hye.
And she became different after she became famous? Why have you met her in person? Every single one of the people she has worked with praise her for being down to earth and for constantly taking care of everyone around her, including your beloved Kang Ji Hwan said that, so are you gonna say he's lying?

seriously? i really dont agree when u say YEh is opposite to down to earth. i think she's one of the most easy going and friendly actress.
I HARDLY sense any arrogance in her. just look at any of her video or even photos, she doesnt have any proud/arrogance vibe/aura or anything.
i know, she's not the prettiest actress, her drama can sometimes be flop, but why she become this big and many fans is because of her real life personality. thats her strongest point. no one beat that.

O yes!!!!! I do love Yoon Eun Hye since she did wonderfully in two of my all time fav dramas but her last three projects were such sore dissapointments (imo) that I've been cringing whenever I heard abt her attachements to any new project since ...BUT.... this is a big step up....Park Yeon Seon is fantastic!!!

YEH gave a comment about why she's turned down the Chinese movie (Tong Que Tai) offer in her fanmeet recently :
She said that reports and articles came out when she was only contemplating over the Chinese movie. She explained that after careful consideration, she decided that the role wasn't suited for her as she couldn't see herself 'owning' the role.. Mainly due to the fact that there were too many factors that just didn't mesh together, such as the voice dubbing and the overall flow in the story telling.

YEH AND LDW! wow! They're on my top korean actor list im so looking forward to see them acting together. Wookie was at his best via SOAW and this would a great follow-up. Though plot-wise, its nothing out of the ordinary but the casting would be perfect. The characterizations are what they could portray best. I am terribly missing YEH. hope this would push through. I'm excited!

Maybe I'm just weird, but I just can't like Lee Dong-wook. I wasn't crazy about him in My Girl but I enjoyed the story enough to overlook that, and his character in SOAW kind of turned me off... plus I think he looks like a bird. With weird looking lips. (I'm going to get lynched now, aren't I?)
Can we have Yoon Eun-hye with KIM Dong-wook instead? I LOVE him and he and Yoon have such cute chemistry in CP.

I'm a LDW fan and I agree with you about the looks. At certain angles, he'd be good for a 'V' extra. ;)
For me, he's one of those actors who can add sufficient charm and charisma to the character such that the looks seems to be just one part of the whole package. Though he's not quite at Cha Seung Won's level yet, but CSW is another example of that - he doesn't have the best facial features either, but his acting makes him relatable and adorable.
And both of them have BODIES to die for.

Maybe we were watching different versions of SOAW - I thought LDW was simply beautiful and looked much more manlier than when he was in "My Girl". And he knows how to use his blessed features to give the many different expressions with tasteful subtlety and variations. And please look at a good look at those pictures! How can you complain?

YEH really needs a solid, well-written drama and LDW... I have no real opinion on. They'd look really pretty together, though, and sometimes all I want from a drama is good chemistry between pretty people. (yes, I'm shallow.)

YEH is an enigma to me. She has great personal charisma, warmth and beauty. Once she hit big with Coffee Prince, she should have had a string of successes, showcasing her acting, too. Instead, the opposite is true, not because of her skills but because of the scripts.
If she is offered this, and gets the opportunity to work with a writing team with a proven track record, she should TAKE it.
Someone give her a great script! Someone else prevent her from accepting an unfinished or non-sparkling script.

The funny thing is she didn't sign up for either My Fair Lady or lie to me. In my fair lady the original script was suppose to be about three rich sisters and the difficulties in their lives but when yoon eun hye signed up they changed the script. Then she signed up for another drama and the actor committed suicide so that left the production company with no drama. they essentially went for two months on a hiatus and because YEH signed up with them she stayed loyal to them. She wasn't even suppose to play in another rom-com but because of her loyalty she stayed with the drama. the script writer was new and the whole drama's script was terrible. the actors had to ad-lib many of the parts from the drama and also the script writer had to be changed because "she got sick" but everyone suspected it was from the low ratings.

I'm really looking forward to seeing LDW in another drama, but, though it's against the popular opinion around here, I'm just not a fan of YEH. I did enjoy her in Coffee Prince. I've seen Vineyard, Goong, and started My Fair Lady. I don't think she's particularly attractive and her acting, well she looks like she's acting.

I share the same opinion about YEH. My husband is a big fan of hers (and would go out of his way to find any dramas she is in), but I never really caught on to the YEH fever. CP was the only drama I really liked with YEH in it but I loved CP so much mostly because of Gong Yoo. I don't really see the charisma in her either and her acting is good/solid (very solid in CP) at best..

if they end up taking this on, i REALLY hope it will be good - only because I want LDW to have a good project. I'm pretty indifferent about this girl, but her all her projects except for Goong and CP have been seriously of questionable quality to me.
So yeah. won't lie - not really diggin' right now based on previous judgment but i really love him
