Yoo Seung-ho has his love rival in Operation Proposal

Yoo Seung-ho‘s rival has been cast for the upcoming fantasy-romance drama Operation Proposal, and it’s the charismatic up-and-comer Lee Hyun-jin, aka the only actor/character I cared about in You’ve Fallen For Me (he played stagefright-stricken Ki-young; the reason I only liked him was because everyone else seemed strangely anemic, while his acting always had a crackle of energy to it, no matter the scene).

Lee Hyun-jin plays the man to whom our hero Baek-ho (Yoo Seung-ho) loses the girl the first time around. Baek-ho realizes his feelings for his longtime friend Yi-seul (Park Eun-bin) too late, literally at the wedding itself as she’s about to tie the knot.

Lee Hyun-jin plays the bridegroom — talented, passionate, well-mannered, but also possessing a tough streak, all wrapped up in the perfect package. Thankfully for Baek-ho, a second chance to win his love presents itself when he manages to time-travel back to his adolescence, when he can get hopefully it right this time.

I like this casting a lot, because I think Lee Hyun-jin has the ability to make a seemingly simple character into somebody more complex and interesting. A few of his other credits include Family Honor, Assorted Gems, and Kimchi Cheese Smile, as well as the cute queer short Boy Meets Boy.

Operation Proposal premiers on new cable channel TV Chosun on February 6.

this is actually a remake of a Japanese drama. But still, I'm looking forward to the twists and turns they incorporated for the Korean version. :D

Oh yes!! Finally~ I know this guy has been cast for this drama but don't know what kind of role he'll have..My wild guess at first is he's the teacher whom Eun Bin will marry with..And it happened to be that my wild guess is correct!! Haha!! Thanks dramabeans for the good news :D

Yeah, but...he doesn't seem old enough! From high-schooler to university professor? All of the cast seem really young, even though a few in the Japanese cast were only 19 as well... @_@~

I have a soft spot for the dorama, but I don't know if I want to watch that story again XD

I was kinda iffy on this one at first, even though I like Yoo Seung-ho, and I usually don't have a problem with second lead syndrome; HOWEVER, Lee Hyun-jin changes EVERYTHING! I will watch this, AND I will suffer second lead syndrome.

I have watched him in quite a few dramas now. You guys are right. He needs to be the lead.

I already know I have to watch this and I am going to be suffering :-) or is it this :-( I just love seeing him on screen. So :-) YAY!

I wasn't going to check out the drama... but now I think I'll have to. It was worth going through all of Heartstrings just for that one scene in episode 3, where Lee Hyun Jin sings "If I leave".

He was so sweet in 'Boy Meets Boy' - it was a charming coming of gay-age movie.

He really got screwed over in YFFM - his was one of the few characters of interest and he was pretty much ignored (except for that gratuitous no-shirt/great abs scene), so it'll be nice to finally see him acting in a vehicle where we can see what he's capable of.

Darn it all, now I will have to watch this! Lee Hyun-jin! Felt very sorry that his character in You've Fallen For Me didn't have a bigger part. Who am I going to root for now? I hardly root for the second lead... exception being that ramyun shop drama!

LHJ is definitely one of the actors I've put on my must list to watch as I liked his presence and talent from the small amount of screen time I've seen. Was going to look into this drama to see the leads (first time seeing both act), but this news made it much more fun!

hmmm did they just cast him? meaning that all the footage from the trailer were filmed just for the trailer? although it really wasn't much anyway. i still remember how disappointed i was when i found out everything from the cinderella sister mv was totally unrelated to the drama.

Hmm, Fujiki Naohito's Korean character counterpart. I like him. Not gonna watch this show though, because life is taking over. But glad to see him because he needs more exposure (especially in an abs scene).

oh god i hated the original japanese drama because the main guy was a coward and the whole fantasy thing (especially the gestures and words he yelled when he was about to travel back in time) was so corny. but i guess i'll give this one a chance. will watch the first 2 episodes to see if the koreans will make it better.

I know! My heart will once again be shattered into a million pieces and thrown to the wind to be drowned in a bottomless sea.

But at the end of the day, I can resurrect myself with the thought that I can always have him. ;)

In which case, I welcome him with open arms, ESPECIALLY since it's Lee Hyun-jin.

Oh! my heart flutters at the thought! *swoon*

OMFG, now I have to watch! Oh my, Lee Hyun Jin! He was also my fav character in YFFM, I kept wishing he was the male lead so he would have more screen time. Sigh, why can't he be lead man so I can root for him all the way and not be heartbroken?! WHYYYYY Drama Gods, WHYYY?!

I find it interesting how he was JUST cast lol I thought the drama was already filming and whatnot. Anyways, I remember his character not really having much of a role in the Jdrama version... at least from what I can recall haha

I adore Lee Hyun Jin and have been for some time now :) I'm glad he's getting more recognition these days! He hasn't really starred in anything to shoot him to stardom, but he's a familiar face in weekend dramas. Furthermore, he has clearly attracted some attention thanks to You've Fallen For Me :D

I will not be surprised if he steals some of the spotlight from the main couple heh

::scrolls up::

OH CRAP! That means he won't get any screen time!!! ='[

Loved him when I saw him in Heartstrings and BMB, but I always look at him and feel like I'm seeing the "teen" version of Ji Hyun Woo or something.

I just hope that with more projects, I can recognize him for who he is despite my scumbag brain superimposing images on top of him haha.

Side, ProDai always seemed kind of sad to me so I dont know how the Korean version will put a spin on it, but it's surely going to break my heart :(

I watched the original japanese version of this and I liked it.. I hope that there would be a little more "skinship"since the jap version is kind of dry on that department. More so, they HAVE to include the special episode in the plot.. because that is when the REAL thing is..

The good thing is that we don't have to see Lee Hyung jin as the bad guy, as the main antagonist in the drama is TIMING.. :)

Is this officially a copy of Proposal Daisakusen? Cuz that...sorta...wasn't that good. Maybe because Yamapi looked like he was having an incontinence problem the whole time.
And I don't know if my computer can handle being thrown anymore, after the "Sike!" in 49 Days.

Ugh are you serious.

I love this guy.

But I honestly don't care much about the premise of ProDai. I mean, the entire thing was about the guy being all passive and unable to blurt out 3 words for a total of 10 episodes. People may throw bricks at me, but ProDai was totally overrated, imo.

And now I sort of want to watch this b/c Lee Hyunjin is cast, but......... the story don't really want.
