Im just saying...that woon is hot.

That said, I also wish that the child YW is allowed to act as the older one. The adult Wol is always having a surprised expression....the younger one managed to have so many subtle expressions on her very pretty face....Come to think of it, the younger Yeom was pretty ok too..

I think Jan Shil is A-ri. I said it first.

Why?

- A-ri swore she'd look over the "Moon" Jan shill was young when she was discovered--younger than Yeon Woo.

- Jan Shil has really good Spiritual powers.

- The juxtaposition of "Ah-ri save us" and Jan shil's scream.

- When Wol is in trouble Jan shil over look over her and protects her from the worst.

Not that anyone will see this... but I'm willing to bet on it.

I really appreciate the time and effort you put into writing a recap after each episode. I love coming here to read over bits I didn't pick up and everyone's opinions on certain parts or characters in an episode. So thank you very much. I look forward to reading more!

Wol: I'm really impressed with HGI's acting. At moments of personal trauma, she's amazing. The slight tremors she gives off right after the branding iron takes a U-turn from her face: priceless. I've been a personal witness to a cycling/car accident - post-traumatic individuals do look like that. HGI enunciates her words with a cadence that is very pleasant to the ear. There is a dreamy quality to it (in a dignified and wise way) that adds a unique layer to her role as a shaman. I see her 'giving up' as a defense mechanism - kidnapped, locked in a small space to trigger 'buried alive' feelings, angering a king (who can command life or death on a whim), nearly being branded by a hot iron...I'm surprised she appears so strong - even in a passive state - with so many tangible threats to her safety and well being. I want her calligraphy set!

Hwon: Yes, he isn't being the perfect hero or lover at the moment. Slipping into his shoes, one understands why. With the Dowager Queen's Party scheming left right and centre, waking up to find ANY hand on one's forehead would be tantamount to waking into a nightmare. His suspicions of Wol's intent were very valid. She did wrong - regardless of her good will. Although, at this point, I wondered why Hwon didn't wonder at why Woon permitted all this. He blamed Wol for an offense that was really Woon and his attendants' responsibility. I guess shouting at one person rather than many is more breath efficient; or, that he's just being plain unjust. Way to go kingo! As much as this paints Hwon as a black sheepie, I think it adds a dash of realism to his role as a ruler and a human. With the pressures and loneliness he faces, sinking into autocratic cruelty once in a while wakes us up to the fact that, despite his general good guy manner and strive for justice (i.e. nice to little girl), Hwon undeniably wears the mantle of a king; with the good and BAD accessories that go with it. I like that. Somewhat un-idealistic, even morbid of me, but I still do.

Thanks for the recap!

Yang-myung is either faking happiness or pouring out his sad feelings to others in his scenes. I hope he gets more of a role than just clinging onto a past love.

I feel like the bodyguard, Woon, is going to figure out something about Wol/Yeon-woo first but have to either keep it to himself or somehow get someone to realize it indirectly.

I liked that we see Yang Myung fighting back (with words) against his grandma! That scene is awesome. If she starts to harm Wol, he will choose to throw everything away to protect her....maybe, choosing to become king too!
