Ricky-oppa! How's school? When are finals? Do you get to stay and play today? Did you ever get to see Hunger Games?

LOL....ok, I'll stop now..good to see you make an appearance.

I went to the cinema after my midterm but we missed the last show of the day so I couldn't watch Hunger Games. We watched a Tamil movie, "3" instead. That was good albeit with a sad ending.

My finals will be in 3 weeks and I think I can stay today :)

Bummer that you missed HG, but Yay! that you can stay and play. But where are your other noonas: JoAnne, Shuk, Cynthia, Jomo, Raine.....

The Boy is sweating finals already. He posted something on FB yesterday: "You know that feeling you get when you've been studying till 3 a.m. and you realize that you're way, WAY too tired to care about this stuff anymore? That's kinda how I feel every second of every day now." I'm glad he has my DIL to take good care of him otherwise. His finals are next week, I think, then he gets about a week off before he flies to Santiago for his first summer internship.

0

I have pre-exam insomnia so I understand him.
On the second thought, I don't know if I can stay for long. I've been yawning nonstop.

0

Go take a nap and come back later. Sleep is too important when you're studying. :0)

0

RICKY! I can't believe you watched 3. It always surprises me how close we live :P

And Shel! If you want to have some rabid Huger Games discussion, I'm your girl: seen it twice (trying to convince someone to come with me for the third time), marathoned all the books, and ordered the soundtrack! All I can think of lately is Katniss and Peeta. :D

0

The Hunger Games is AWESOME!!! <3
And I might actually go see it twice as my Mum expressed some interest in going to see it which is odd as she 1) hates violence and sad stuff 2) thinks everything I read which isn't... Harry Potter? and a few others perhaps... is too violent and depressing.
That maybe why she hasn't mentioned anything again...

0

Rocky do you speak Tamil? I know the movie has that obnoxiously famous Dhanush song....i cringe, i tell you!! haha

0

*Ricky!! *cringes*

0

@ Bourbon Great to see you on here! I went and took my own advice (to Ricky) and went and took a nap. I feel MUCH more better (as my daughter use to say).

Hunger Games WAS awesome. I loved the books was a bit worried that I'd hate the movie, as so often happens with me. But, it was very well done and they ended it where the book SHOULD have ended. Have we heard about sequels?

I'm all about Gale, though. Funny though, when I was reading the book I was rooting for Peeta.

0

Shel! As far as I know, the sequel's due in November '13, and they plan to split Mockingjay into two. I'm a little concerned the actors won't be convincing 17 year olds anymore by the time that happens, but hey, if we stuck through it in Harry Potter, then its a piece of cake ignoring the age difference!

I came upon the movie first, as a matter of fact. I had been recommended the book earlier, but it wasn't in print in India, so I thought I might as well watch the movie at least! And I loved it so much, I went and ordered the UK-print editions just as I left the theatre. :) My major concern, too, was that the movie I'd liked so much hadn't done justice to the book, but once I read it... I was hooked. There was not a single thing of significance that they left out! They even got Buttercup. :) I do wish the movie Peeta had a little more of the book Peeta's sarcasm, but I have a soft spot for that kid anyway. :)

Gale... well, I just finished Mockingjay this past week, so Gale is going to be in the doghouse for quite a while more, till i can see his redeemable qualities again. :/

@ Saima Arey why this Kolaveri kolaveri kolaveri di? :P

0

@ Saima
You'll be surprised at the number of people who called me Rocky. Haha :D

No, I don't speak Tamil but some of my really good friends are Tamil-speaking Indians. They were the ones who brought me to watch 3.
LOL You don't like the song? I've been hearing it non-stop for the past 2 months and I'm able to sing along to it now. I have to admit though, the Kolaveri song sounds so much nicer after the movie.

@ Bourbon
It's good to surprise you. I liked the movie. The actors were really good criers. One of the songs I like is the one that goes "ponee po". It's a nice ballad.

am I first?
ok since I have watched enough dramas now, I can put together my first Top 10!!! yay. here it is.
Top 10 most addicting dramas
1. Shut Up Flower Boy Band - again, what? It was a drama? Noooo. Why was it just a drama? Why did it end? Why why why is there no more...nooo I want it back.
2. City Hunter - oh man. Iconic characters, all of them. They should all end up in encyclopedia for pitch-perfect examples of their type. And how much hair did I pull out, I swear!?!
3. Greatest Love - really I did not want to trust the hype at first. But then I would never have looked like I had rabies, laughing so hard my mouth was foaming and yet being so emotionally involved in the ridiculous sincerity of those characters.
4. Painter of the winds - as an artist, and a small footprint one, I just appreciated a look on art, raw and pure and genuine, and the fact it was more about the artists´ growth and less of the crossdressing antiques. Although, seeeeeriously how many times do you threaten Ze Hand, was it really necessary. In parts repetitive
5. SungKyunkwan Scandal - the most satisfying side characters... No, main characters? All 4? The whole cast was strong. Crazy Horse and Yee-Rim, the characters of "who I want to keep on my sofa forever as life-size plushie dolls and have a tea party every evening." but I got soooo tired of Confucius being cited every friggin 5 minutes. Yoochuns great development in Rooftop Prince might get this one replaced. Wait, can we mix those two and bring the advanced character of the prince here? I wonder ... Still waiting to see a sageuk where the clothes looks like they are actually worn by people, not so bright and new.
6. Dal Ja´s Spring - it was just so fluent and fresh. And it actually presented home shopping people as human beings, not hyperactive manics.
7. You Are Beautiful - the characters of Tae Kyung and Jeremy do all the hard work, really. The manager is cute. I liked this show, cause I watched it when I was very very depressed and had thought for more than 2 months nothing would make me smile of laugh. But I was laughing at these situations against my will. I am glad there are actors in this world, who can pull anyone out of their emotional prison.
8. Coffee Prince - it was a well executed show and a classy setting, but I ...ehmm, consider the not so pro... Ehmm, deleted. Never mind. It was the intelligent, classy kind.
9. 49 days - I liked the execution of the body-takeover and the 2nd female lead. And you-know-who...never has a drama made me think hmm, dieing. Interesting, I might try.
10. Pasta - dramabeans are right, nothing much happens, but thats life! But somehow I kept watching, and watching... Gong Hyo Jin is a splendid actress... Very little distraction to my sewing and embroidering, but at the same time, not just passing by the eyes either. If only there was more developments between the main couple. But what is with Gong Hyo Jin dramas and curious pot plants? One time it is a cactus, another it is a potato. What next, a bonzai?
anyway, really comfortable watch.

now, Rooftop Prince might push something out. I´ll wait and see if too much makjang will ruin it. For now, top contender

Now that I think of it, when tVN will air another Flower Boy drama? Miss my eye candy + fluff + great storylines.

Me, too, man. Even though I enjoy the currently airing dramas, I'm not as invested in them as I was in Shut Up: Flower Boy Band. Speaking of which, I just found out that the last Eye Candy dude who didn't have twitter signed up two days ago, and now that makes it complete: I am free to stalk ALL of the Eye Candy boys online as I wish. I was feeling weird following just four of them. ;-)

Seriously, Shut Up was SO GOOD. I'm amazed that the Flower Boy cable shows ended up being as high quality as they were. The ending of Shut Up was probably the best drama ending I have ever seen. I love that the characters realized they could remain friends without being part of this entity, the band. The ending was perfect because though it tied up loose ends it still left a lot of room for us to guess what will happen next for our characters. I miss those boys sooo much. Sung Joon was just the cutest thing in the whole world.

Now that SUFBB and Skip Beat are over, (WAHHHH) I am enjoying Rooftop Prince and King 2 Hearts. I'm still a fan of Running Man and wait impatiently for the newest eps every week.

SUFBB and Skip Beat! .....Both left me wanting more....which is EXACTLY how it should be.

City Hunter.....didn't get past ep 1. I think it was because I had JUST finished BOF and I couldn't see him as a different character yet. It's on my list though.

Greatest Love - FUNNY! Oh I loved his complete goofiness!

Painter of the Winds ? Sounds interesting.

SungKyunkwan Scandal - Whoa there was some serious hotness in this drama! This is where I first noticed how naughty Song Joong Ki is. He slays me...he really does.

Dal Ja's Spring - Haven't seen it yet.

You Are Beautiful - I watched this one & I know I liked it but now I can barely remember it.

Coffee Prince - I really liked this one but I wanted her to end up with the other guy. Not sure why. Loved his house and his DOG!

49 Days - Good story. I loved the body take-overs too.

PASTA - ughhhh I am currently slogging through this drama on netflix. I love it and I hate it. But, I have to say I love No Man Woo.

Watched Rock!Rock!Rock! on a recommendation and was thorougly AWED and WOW-ed. TALENT.

Watching 12 Men in a year and am enjoying it although I can't get into the female lead. Love her bff instead.

And I'm also watching Fondant Garden. Mike He ...'nuff said.

I am watching 12 Men in Year, too (on Hulu, where it is called something else--12 signs of love?). Anyway, I , too, love the best friend, and I am really like the kpop star guy (so you know what episode I am on). I know I am supposed to want the main lead and her ex to get back together, but I like the girl who has fallen for him and I like her better with other people. I have had second lead sydrom before, but ten other guys syndrome? That is going to tough to get over!

Still, I wish I had a best friend like hers!

I'm a drama newbie, too, and I have to say that I totally agree with your list. It's sort of sad that Painter of the Wind doesn't always get the props it deserves—who knew watching people paint could be so exciting?

I still haven't seen Pasta or Dal Ja's Spring, though. I think I'll bump them up on my (giant, enormous, elephantine, byzantine) list of things to watch.

I loved Painter of the Wind! It's one that I've been meaning to rewatch for a really long time. It's kind of slow, but really elegant and beautiful and tragic, if I remember correctly. I would suggest Dal Ja's Spring over Pasta. I love the main actors in Pasta, but not a whole lot goes on in that drama.

All signs point to being laid off, so we're looking around, but there isn't much out there. So, now all we can do is sit on pins and needles and pray like mad. But, we've been through this before several times....it's the nature of Silicon Valley startups....sometimes out of work long enough to be on our last dollar and something always comes through. God is good to us. But that doesn't mean I'm not a nervous wreck before the new job comes through. He gets laid off and he goes "yay! vacation! we should go on a roadtrip! and I'm "ack! how are we gonna pay the bills! and no we can't go anywhere, we don't have any money!"

I totally hyave to disagree.

Happy Friday, OT Regulars and Not-So-Regulars (there's a pill for that, BTW). Another fun day in store, as it's Good Friday here in the US and there's a rumour going around the office that we might be let off early today because of the 'holiday.' That just means I need to jam 12 hours of work into 5 instead, so I'm off to the races again!!

First off, who was that darling boy in one of the horizontal DB headers this week? The one with the steely blue-gray eye and the gray tie with white stripes? Staring at him put me into a trance because he was so gorgeous. Looks like he's gone now, hopefully to return sometime soon, ne? Please? ;)

I'm really not much into the whole K-pop juggernaut, focusing mostly on the balladeers and indie bands instead. But there's been lots of new music hitting my ears this week -- the Huh Gak "Lacrimoso" (well-named, since the songs leave me quite weepy inside), Shinhwa's "The Return" (weird thinking that their maknae is 31 years old now!!), and of course, Big Bang's "Alive" is getting the most repeats on my iTunes right now. I started taking a Zumba class at the Fitness Centre, and when the instructor threw in a few BB and Jay Park songs, I knew I was in the right place. BOOMSHAKALAKA!! :)

Anyway, work is work is work. Another goodbye lunch yesterday with a co-worker leaving for a position at Intel, so my building is slowly emptying out. Regardless, I have an overflowing week coming up, with two other team members both on vacation because it's Spring Break at their kids' school… which means this single and childless woman has to take up the slack because they're not going to bring in a temp for only five days. Like they ever pick up my duties when I'm on the road. Hmpf.

And whomever called Lee Seung Gi "MINE" -- well playedI! Uri Puppy so brought it this week for "K2H." Almost a total nude scene, only punctuated by a well-placed doodad on an ornamental mirror. DAMN YOU, WELL-PLACED DOODAD!!! I've had to put watching other dramas on the back burner again, but I made sure to watch K2H Ep 5 just for that scene… over and over and over again. RAWR.

Oh sorry, sweetie… don't want to make My Precious all jealous there. In about 14 hours, Changwook-ssi should be hopping a private jet to Singapore where he will start filming that purported travel show all next week. Since our AsiaPac Payment HQ is in Singapore, I got down on my knees to try and boondoggle a trip there next week, to no avail. Drat. The details are being kept extremely confidential under wraps, but some of the JCW Fan Cafe will be there at the same time, so my sources will feed me info as it becomes known. Stay tuned!

Time to hit the bricks, so seeyas around lunchtime. I leave you all with some words of wisdom: BOOMSHAKALAKA… FANTASTIC BABY!! :)

Ricky oppa!! How funny is it that you had the first comment and how spot-on it was -- apparently Changwook-ssi caused a bit of a melee at the Incheon Airport yesterday waiting for his departure to Changi. Stupid fangirls. Grrrr.

0

Is it really? The half-profile really threw me off -- I first thought it was My Precious until I studied that upper lip for several hours and determined it wasn't him after all. Such a rough job, but someone's gotta do it! ;)

Now I can see why some folks think JCW and LMH look a lot alike -- it gave me pause for awhile thinking that DB finally had a JCW header made for the site! (GF and JB, if you would like one, I have several for the sharing. Just sayin'... :) )

0

Ivoire -

"Screen Actors Guild" - You have to register your screen name, and duplicate names aren't allowed. For instance, British actor Dougray Scott chose that name because someone had already registered Doug Scott.

0

@ Shukie,
ah, that SAG. I didn't think about that one. And to be honest, I never really knew what it stood for. Now I know. Thank you for clarifying that for me.

I didn't know they posted it, I just read about it on this thread today. It made my day! It is indeed Gong Yoo from a photo spread, Song Jun-ki - I think from a movie where he co-starred with a litter of puppies (MUST FIND IT!) - and Jung Il-woo with his "little brother" Jung A-woo. Just because they couldn't get any cuter.

Here is another one which didn't make it, but I think you'll enjoy:

Hey everyone first its Good Friday. Thank You Jesus Christ for dying on the cross for me and the world.

Sings (The best part of waking up is, Dramabeans OT on your Screeeeeennnnnnn ) Man I held that last note beautifully.

I’ watching RTP ep6 right now and I have to watch K2H so I feel like I fell behind.
So I want to share something with you guys. Did anyone watch the anime Kenshin. Its definitely one of my favorites and brings back so many memories when I was younger. Cartoons /Animes sure know how to tug at your memory heart. Well their making a live action movie it. At first I was skeptical but after seeing the trailer I’m actually excited.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=lc_JmcRxdx8

Anyway, So glad Dramabeans recapped Marriage Plot I kept checking everywhere on Mon. and Tues. to see if was going to subbed or recapped. TVN is really great because its giving the chance for people who always get second lead to be the lead. Its nice to see people who have been on the sidelines get the chance to shine.
They also been have been producing scripts where the women have confidence and stick up for their self. Not the I’m an orphan and poor girl but I’m cheerful types. But it’s a classic character type so I am not sick of it because they do match the cold hearted type well in dramas but its refreshing to have female characters that you can relate to.

On ep 5 of RTP prince our boys had to cut their hair and it got me thinking how much one’s hair means to them. For some people its their identity. Some people like changing their hair all the time because they want change. I know if I had to cut my hair I would cry to. As I thought more about though we use hair to judge people as well its like clothes sometimes having this hair type or style means this about a person which many a time is entirely not true.

I feel the same too . . . the movie itself is a homage to the jidaeki genre. Certain scenes (for example, the Shinsengumi attack) and visual choices were taken from various movies.

So far, there hasn't been a lot of live-action adaptations that I've been disappointed in. Even Ouran HS Host Club (hated the hair and Tamaki should've looked a little more foreigner/blonde), the acting and scenes were very reminiscent of the original medium.

Hello Licia :D

Interesting observations you got there.
Yes, I agree that hair is important. It is sort of my "identity", like what you said. I know a lot of guys who express themselves through their hair. You know how some girls use make-up and some people resort to having tattoos or loud clothes, I think hair is also an extension of ourselves and sometimes speak louder about our personalities.

Thank goodness I wasn't chosen to go for my country's national service, otherwise I would have had to be bald. Even the thought of it scares me.

Hey, Beanies! Happy Friday! Or Saturday, I suppose....

Well, the doctor finally released me, and life is mostly back to normal. After sitting around for two months, I have zero stamina, so I'm still taking it slowly, but at least I'm not stuck at home anymore. Yay! Downside: I'm back on early morning seminary duty, so I'm back to writing from the driveway of Sisterwife H whilst the teenybopper does her religion class. Today though, there's a full moon about to set over the ocean. Actually all I can see is the giant sand dune that's between here and the beach, but it was a lovely drive down with the full moon reflecting off the bay. We're lucky to live here.

In other news, the houseguests are really messing with my drama time. I love them, Hasmik is very sweet but is a chatterbox, so when she's up, there's no watching anything. Not to mention my bandwidth has to be shared between her Armenian soap and my Kdramas in the evening when her husband is home. But, they got one of the jobs that they wanted and will be moving to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks. I was really hoping they'd find a job here, but such is life.

I'm loving FK, RP and K2H The plotlines on FK are sometimes a little wonky, but YAI is adorable, even though I'm gonna wanna whap him up side of the head for going after the wrong girl, I think. RP is hysterical, and K2H is a nail biter. I'm a little behind on the RP and K2H, but I hope to get caught up this weekend, as I'm usually up 3 or 4 hours before anyone else on Saturdays.

My son called and one of his summer law intern jobs is here in Monterey, so they will be here for two months this summer! I'm glad, I miss those guys a lot. My teenager is thrilled, because she talked my DIL into helping her paint her room. She has so many posters on the wall that I”m not sure what the point is. Her latest acquisition: a huge poster of the SS501 boys...like six years ago. She found it on eBay and is very proud of it. Her friends are Bieber fans....she's fighting Bieber with Kpop. They think she's weird, which she likes just fine. What a funny kid.

Everyone have a lovely Easter. We'll be going to church, of course, and then we host an egg hunt in our tall grass for the sisterwives and their families, which is always fun. We don't do the Easter bunny, so the egg hunt is our one non-religious concession. And ham...have to have my Easter ham.

I've seen the first episode of Hero and part of the second, and so far I really like it. The story is fast-paced and interesting, set in a rich world, and the main character has been a delightful surprise. Most of all, though, I love the comic-book feel; lots of dark sets and moody lighting. I'll hold off final judgment a little longer, but so far it has the makings of a great drama.

Cruelsummer,

I wrote you a mid size (in my book) message but because I am at the public library, I forgot to enter my info, and so my message didn't go through and I have to do it again, so I will do it later.

0

I am trying not to laugh at you, but LOL and I can totally relate. So I guess next year you will have to remember to offer to bring the drinks :-).
I am a good cook, but I don't always feel like cooking either. Do you know or have a good recipe that you can follow along? You know, the kind of recipe where you put all the ingredints together and you let the whole thing cook for a while? When I cook, I cook a lot and then I serve portions during the week. I do the same with my side dishes (rice, potatoes) if I can. Is this something you do at home when you cook for you and your daughter?

I still hope you will have a great Easter and an enjoyable Easter dinner. What state do you live in (if you don't mind my asking)?

Just trying to be positive and to psych you: at least you still have some time to cook, I hope that helps :-)

Ok, I am going to go back to the 20 months old I am watching today. We are going to go read some books and then have some lunch. And then hopefully after that, a walk in the stroller and she will fall asleep. She is a cutie and easy to take care of A(so far). This is good! Talk to you later!

0

I'm exactly the same! I'm a great cook, but hate being in the kitchen. I was going to make this really complicated chicken dish, but I called my cousin and it seemed everyone was making chicken, so now I'm set to make mac and cheese. Super easy. Now I just need to drag my carcass to the store to get ingredients. Blah.

My daughter is a menace in the kitchen, lol. She makes my cooking experience even less fun.

I live in Maryland. My place of birth. Traveled the World. Swore I'd never return and yet...here I am :)

I love babysitting (when the kid is cooperative)! Hope you're having a blast.

0

Hi Cruelsummer,

Glad you had to cook something that was easy for you. Did you cook the Mac and Cheese from scratch? And I hope you had a good time with your family.
Nice to know you have traveled the world. What are the countries (continents) you have been to?

I had a wonderful time with the 20 months old, she is a lot of fun and quite interactive, which I love. She was also popular at the library, as people kept saying "hi" to her and looking at her. It reminded me of how much I love being a nanny, especially of babies and toddlers and young children, because you can teach them manners, and values and see them apply that. It's gratifying and I really like being around children. You get to see the world through their eyes and you are reminded that it is good to have a child like faith when it comes to certain things.
I am like you, I like taking care of children more if they are cooperative.

Hello Cherkell,

The Easter play is going really well and they have had 10 performances total, between last week and this week. They have two more performances today and they will be taking down the stage that was build for the performances tonight, after the last performance.

All my guests (I went twice because they choose different dates) were really surprised at how professional the actors/actresses are, from the children to the older cast members. The directing is to be commended as well and the singing is very powerful and amazing, and I am not exagerating (and my standards are very high).
My guests were also surprised at how professional all the other volunteers were: the greeters, ushers etc... They were all very happy they went. This year I had 18 guests, last year I had 30 or 31 guests and I went 4 different times to see the play with each group of my guests. Each performance is excellent and the chemistry between the cast members is great.

Thank you for asking. I hope that you are having a lovely weekend!

The way ya'll carry on about this one or that one makes me cave and then I find myself (like now) wanting to scream in frustration because I've got to WAIT a full WEEK before seeing the next episode! :D

That's the problem for me, too - it's not that I couldn't wait, and hold off to watch a whole series at once - but once I started reading comments on DB, and especially after joining in on the OT fun - I have to watch them currently airing because the discussion and the one-liners are easily as much fun as watching the show itself! Now I could never go back to never watching a currently airing drama - there are definitely some I miss, like Kimchi Family, which I picked up as the last 4 episodes were airing - but for something like K2H, I need to be part of the EVENT!

Hi All!

Happy Good Friday! It will be even better if the boss lady sends me home early.

Absolutely obsessed with K2H. Can't even focus on any other dramas right now. I'm so glad I gave it a chance.

Still fighting whatever virus I happened to aquire from 'The Germy One'.

Speaking of 'The Germy One', I let her take my laptop with her to Nana's house for Spring Break. I was amazed at how much I was able to accomplish at home without being able to access the internet. It was a nice little break, but never again. I was seriously like a crack addict when I snatched the laptop from her hands and scowled at her. Bad Mommy.

I need a new job, like yesterday. It's crazy around these parts and since I'm genetically predisposed to crazy, this atmosphere can't be good for my psyche.

Currently watching:
Rooftop Prince-It's getting kind of boring. Maybe it's just me. Even the jokes I can see coming a mile away. I was really annoyed with the handphone incident in Ep. 5. The phone just conveniently fell out of his pocket, enabling evil dude to steal it. Evil dude bashes phone, gets interrupted and drops the phone in a random bag?! Seriously?! You couldn't just put it in your pocket? I had to stop watching after that. I didn't even get to the funny parts :(

Tree of Heaven- This is actually interesting. Step-Siblings in love. Longing looks, crazy emo dude...right up my alley. At first I was thinking...what's the big deal? It's not like you two grew up together...get your freak on, Girl. But then I thought of my step-brothers....and gagged. Good drama, though. Only on Ep. 7

K2H-See Above *sigh*

Re-watch: Biscuit Teacher, Star Candy. Oh Gong Yoo, why are you so awesome? Just smoking hot. He not even conventionally attractive, but his expressions, the way he moves. Gah...made me wonder if he spent years honing his swagger or was he just born with it?!

Sorry so long folks. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

Tree of Heaven! That drama, oy. I've watched my fair share of dramas but Tree of Heaven hit me in the gut. I don't know what happened to me when I watched it, maybe there was something in the air or I was feeling extra hormonal, my eyes were leaking all over the place, when watching it. Just bawling. I had to start watching it at night so I could attribute the puffy eyes to sleep. Cool points went straight out the window. I rarely cry during dramas but that one did me in. Enjoy it.

The hero in this drama Lee Wan has the most emotive eyes... it's insane. I think he's getting out of the army this year.

Have a wonderful weekend and I feel you on the new job. I really would like a change of pace as well.

Yeah..that's why I had to take a break. I was leaking uncontrollably. Big dramatic wails. I'm gonna blame it on the hormones.

Lee Wan's eyes really do all the acting for him. He's still a bit green, but I'd say he's up there with Cha Seung-Won and Gong Yoo with those "break-your-heart-with-a-single-gaze" eyes.

I just watched Biscuit Teacher, Star Candy two weeks ago and finally stopped have dreams about Gong Yoo and the whole gang. I mean I even kinda liked the gir we are supposed to hate! I was obsessed and had to put it on whenever I sat down at my computer even though I knew I should be doing other things. I had to search for it in English subs. I even went to a Russian website to get English subs, and then a Polish site let me down as well. mysoju, supposedly has it all but of course middle episodes were missing. You should have seen me yelling at my computer and cursing Eastern Europe. Both my daughters thought I was a crazy person. It seemed so random. But it wasn't. I had a target, and I needed to see Biscuit and Star Candy together at last. I actually bookmarked the section of the video where he finally confronts her and asks if she loves him. I replay it on days when I get too angry and sigh like warm water has just poured over my feet.

My sadness stems from the OST. While you can stream a lot of videos online, finding the OST's for older works is well nigh impossible nowadays.

0

I found that drama on Youtube subbed recently but some parts were missing. I kinda liked it, but there wasnt that much of a conflict really. and I get icky just watching people going over and over the reasons oh why you like me? when did you realize you like me? seriously isnt that kind of embarrassing?
but I liked Gong Joos´ character nonetheless, and that girl who liked him, too. she wasnt so crazy, she was dedicated and as lonely as the guy himself. I totally understood her attachment. and the fact she bullied the teacher at first, well - it is highschool.
I also liked the head teacher and the plot developments with him and the school. That was the most realistic part of the story and one I can relate to ( I am an art teacher)

started thinking if I too go running just because I have this inner restlessness, anxiety, that I try to compensate...

Can't wait for Queen Hyun's Man, Standby and I do I do (Kim Sun Ah and Lee Jang Woo) to begin. Need to check Wedding Scheme also.
I tried writing my first recap ever for Love can become Money ep1, and i'm happy with the outcome. Now i respect all the recappers of the world even more: Hours of work i can tell you, but it's fun to no end. I'm thinking about having my blog, but i'm lame with the web things. Blogger seems to offer the simplest package. Wordpress is tempting cause looks more pro, but i see a lot of non free options... Any advice by the elders would be welcome!

Oh, and i've watched first ep of Immortal Classic (me and food dramas...). I can't get used to French being spoken in K dramas, it's so funny and cute (Lee Seung Gi was... hot doing it). Cognitive dissonance. Talking about Immortal Classic, there is my fav granny in it (evil mode), and i wonder how she can film 2 dramas at the same time (Rooftop and IC): She's 70 but still has a good health apparently!

I really liked how Ending Planner ended. It was quite satisfying as you said. Hungry was there but wasn't at the same time for me. I can't place my finger on it but it left me wanting just a bit more. I did like how they came full circle on the Hungry theme though.

Is "I do I do" supposed to start soon?

I am terribly excited for Standby, I really hope it's good.

Hi Shuk! I hope it was weeks busy with pleasant occupations. Ending Planner is about a man who inherits the funeral service business when his dad passes away. It's a bit sad, but there are also some warm family scenes, and a bit of investigation/supernatural. The cast is great. I saw the movie Departures with the same theme, and loved it too. For someone who hates sad stories, it's kind of funny to be touched by that all "circle of life" theme.

Good Friday and Happy Easter everyone!

I finally moved to NC and am so ridiculously excited! This is the first time I will be owning my own (I should say we) place as I have been living with my sisters or renting rooms in people's households so am so happy! Even though I currently do not own a stick of furniture (sleeping on the floor) but I have internet since nothing comes between me and k-dramas.

I watched episode 1 of OCN's Hero and I'm intrigued. I think OCN is my fave cable channel as they first brought Vampirte Prosecutor, then Ten and now Hero. Although the leading gut isn't rocking any guyliner, or as handsome as his predecessors but his character is compelling as we get to see how he changes from his playboy ways into an anti-hero and how he deals with finding out the truth about his bro and dad. He is like a Korean batman without the fancy gadgets. I also like the leading lady as she is not a damsel in distress and is able to fight for herself and rescue the leading guy.

I also watched episode 1 of Mushin/God of War and I love it! I like how it is raw and gritty and you won't find any moon/sun star dust butterflies here. I don't think they hold anything back as they are trying to accurately portray how bad it was at that time. I am happy as this seems to be the follow-up of my fave saguek, Age of Warriors. I also super excited to see QSD's Alcheon who I heard is cast here.

God of War is really good. And you're right, this ain't no pretty boy fusion Sageuk. (not that i don't love them :) )

You have to at least watch it through the "GAME". I think it starts in about episode 3 or 4. And runs through the next 3 or 4 episodes. Holy Cannoli Batman! Think ancient polo. Really Vicious ancient polo.

I'm current with all the episodes. I'm really enjoying it so far. For some reason it feels like grown up Sageuk to me.Kind of like how WBDS always felt like kiddie Sageuk.

One of the things I really like is the cast. If you've been watching Kdrama for any length of time there are a ton of familiar faces! The whole "Ooh! There's so&so from such&such!" is always fun. :)

Hello and happy friday!
This week has been crazy with drama-watching.

1.Rooftop prince - ep 6 made my heartbreak. So moving and intense, I hate Se-na so much and can't wait until prince discovers his feelings for park ha.

2. K2hearts - also loving, just finished 5 and moving onto 6. I'm torn between which is my fave - this or rp- and can't decide. Both are endearing with fantastic characters!

and - is anyone watching k-pop, extreme survival? just disocvered this little gem on viki this week, and marathoned through the six eps. v. promising, its everything i wanted YAB to be. Can't get enough of the main couple!

watching rooftop prince and kpop, extreme survival, i feel like a yoochun-yoohwan fangirl...btw..they really look similar to me...

I just discovered K-Pop Extreme Survival/Ultimate Audition/whatever-other-500-names-it-has this past week. All along I'd thought it was a music program, not a drama, but then I found out it was along the lines of YB, which made me happy :) I just wish there were 720p versions to download. There seems to be only one version available and it's standard def. I MUUUUUUUCH prefer HD when I can get it cause it looks so much better on the TV. And like someone else said, eye candy NEEDS to be watched in HD!

I'm watching K-pop Ultimate Audition!
I like it so far.

Kinda reminds me of Hana Kimi (Taiwan version) and You're Beautiful for some reason.

It might be the "I'm a girl secretly living with a bunch of males" thing

....and the whole "I'm a masculine male Am I crazy? I'm attracted to this really girly guy...am I gay?" dilemma.

Maybe also....Similar looking female leads?

Excellent! I'm glad that other people are watching this. It's got more of a coffee prince vibe to me and I'm loving that the girl has some ambition and dream,...maybe that's why it's different than YAB for me. Hoping the main guy figures it out soon though.......

Hi,

I'm at work so my replies might be short.

I'm oddly compelled to watch LR. Pretty to look at.

Love angst, noble idiots, love triangles. Love that was meant to be is squandered type of stuff.

The very end of Ep 4 goes to present day and leaves the 70's behind. The preview looks like the present day story should perk things up.

The cinematography is the real star of the drama. Even accounting for the eye-candy expectations of Yoon's Seasonal Dramas, this may be the best looking (non-cable) K-drama ever made.

At least, it's worth sticking around to at least Episode 3, which has the best shot "lovers at the beach" scenes I've ever seen in a K-drama. WOW.

Based on the 4 seasons dramas I've seen, I wouldn't hold my breath about Love Rain developing a plot :b

I haven't watched any of the Season dramas. I do like Son Eun Seo's semi-bitchy character in Love Rain, she looked good in the 70's styles.

I prefer to watch a whole drama then tune in every week. waiting for the subs.

I watched it and was fascinated at just how horrible it was. Was it a comedy, a romance, a manga turned drama, a melo, a cartoon? This is typical of why I pretty much stick to K-drama.
I wanted to see why Siwon jumped into Skip Beat after the mess that was Poseidon. I felt embarrassed for him in this. He played the best actor in the country? All he did was stare and rub his forehead with two fingers. And told the other characters how to emote. Skip Beat was beyond terrible. Even Donghae did a more believable job in his part. It's got to be the overboard exaggeration that irritates the crap out of me in T-drama. The clownish facial expressions, the screaming dialogue, the disjointedness of it all! Guh.

0

Aww...I thought it was fun. But I don't think I was fully invested in Siwon or Donghae's character. I think I liked all the side characters more: the best friend, manager, company head.

"The Packaging is great isn’t it? :D I wish the west did packaging as cool!"

IKR? This is one area where I think Kpop is smarter than American music companies. All the extra stuff - from posters to photo books, DVDs of music videos and BTS clips, special packaging, etc - that's what makes me willing to spend what precious little money I have on a physical item. These days, Big Bang (and now Shinhwa) are getting my money.

0

@Stacy
IKR? It's all about the marketing. Personally, I love the booklet and stickers that came with my BIGBANG cd. I didn't even blink that there's only 7 songs on this CD. Now, where to stick the stickers? Decisions, decisions. ;-)

Actually, I don't care if her room is messy as long as it isn't a safety hazard. But she STARTED cleaning it, piling all kinds of stuff out in the hall cuz she wanted to move furniture. THEN got caught up in some anime show and left it all there for us to jump over or trip on. Stinker.

Don't think we saw Dollhouse...

Firefly is my favorite Joss Whedon production so far; it's one I watch over and over.

I'm rating RP higher than K2H. I've now watched 4 epi's of LSG, and maybe it's his jerkiness (which I know should dissolve through character development), but I find myself wanting him to NEVER get the girl. It's kind of my same feeling from Shining Inheritance - why pick him?

I just went through my Firefly phase, too. I dropped all my K-dramas for a week and marathoned all the episodes in two days. The rest of the week was spent in mourning (only one season?!) until I worked up the courage to watch Serenity. It was such an amazing show.

FIREFLY! I love Firefly. I've seen that show so many times! You should watch Serenity too - it's the movie that tied up everything. There's also a comic book that came out to finish up the storyline that the series left us off with. I loved Firefly and Serenity so much I even picked Serenity as the film I wrote my final paper about in one of my film classes when I was in college. Sigh. I'm still pissed they cancelled the show.

I agree Dollhouse isn't as good - hell nowhere near as good. But it's from the mind of Josh Whedon and in my book was a good enough reason to check it out.

An excellent Good Friday, and Happy OT!

I've been back and forth to family functions for the last month. Weddings, cousins' children and lambs being born, needed to be cared for, and then basic defense against attack chickens. We've been having many field days at work, due to the unseasonable warm winter and spring. Plus, one of my good friends has moved to the area and we have been hiking often (He's such a good dongsaeng) All this means I have been very tired and limited in my drama time...er not completely true but we'll get to that in a minute.

Okay, drama confession: I've been watching Supernatural on Netflix. And Ten on Viki. I finished Ten this week. That drama does an excellent job at accusing the audience in the complicity of crime (evil - a good man who does nothing . . .) I thought the acting was great and ajussi (Kim Sang-ho) is one of my favorite actors now. I always go for characters. I wish there were more episodes, or seasons or something. Its the best Korean crime procedural I have seen so far. Now Supernatural, in all its spooky crime stuff is also being watched b/c I was totally crushing on the leads. Then, whilst walking through the supermarket to buy beer for my brother in law and a cousin at 7:30am I realized my crush. It was a classic forehead smack moment. 1) I would probably be the dead chick of the week 2) FICTIONAL DUDES! 3) I couldn't keep up with the pace of killing and mayhem. I am way to fragile not to cry when thrown through a wall, not to mention shot. Its hard to fight the Oxytocin, you know? I think it hit me so hard because they look like and sound like all the men I grew up around- all carhartts, guns and self assertion. My bro-in-law thinks my sister is also crushing on Sam and Dean Winchester. To me, that is hilarious.

I think I will watch Strawberry Nights and Supernatural now. 1 American, 1 Foreign...maybe 2? I think it would be wise to temper the violence with a little pleasantness. Any thoughts? I have tried RTP and K2H, but somehow I am not in the right mood yet. So is there a good adventure rom-com I'm missing? Would Kimchi Family work for fuzzies?

My name is ck and I am addicted.
Addicted to Kings 2 Heart.
And I am going to die with only ep 7 next week.

And no I do not want a cure. I just want my episode 8 next week :-)

Okay running away now that I've made a fool of myself. Can't recall being so insanely in love since Secret Garden days. It's not Lee Seung Gi- cos' I am not normally a fan. Hated Beethoven Virus.
But this whole chemistry thing he has got going with HJW as KA- JH + the writing + directing/ snow effects is driving me to insanely ship those 2.

Happy Easter everyone. I am curing my addiction with more K drama.
Happy OT to all of you. Hope you get all the chocolate eggs you ever wanted.

One really tiny thing - when they were told that the main character was able to see/communicate with ghosts, everyone seemed to just accept it. I thought that they would be slightly more skeptical. At the same time, it seems like in the film's universe, everyone could see ghosts anyway, so maybe it was just me. Still, I think this film was just plain amazing - such a pleasant surprise (especially after You're My Pet).

You're My Pet, I'm still wondering what did they do with the story when the drama is so cute.
I just assumed that only those close to her could she the ghost since they were hunting her.
And his friend doesn't believe it at first, but he insist that he has proof of it.
In any case, in these kind of movies one has always to suspend reality to be able to enjoy it

Sorta off the subject, but I saw that he is in the 2nd teaser video for the indie band NELL for their new album coming out April 10. He looks so good here, even though, for the most part, you see half his face. haha... I think I have more of a crush on him now than when he was in SUFBB. Check it out!

actually I own a teepee but it goes up outside ... otherwise I would totally camp in my room.
I think ghosts and spirits are kind of a staple of asian cultures all over... everyone accepts their existance, so it is natural at least a few can see them as well.

I watched Chilling Romance twice last weekend and really liked it. The stream on DramaCrazy was really poor quality so I spent hours looking for a good download and subtitles that weren't translated by a robot. I watched it for Lee Min-ki, because I'll watch pretty much anything he's in, but the movie is really good in itself. One of my favorite romantic comedies, together with Cyrano Dating Agency. It had a few cliche moments (tearful love confessions, running in the airport) but otherwise a solid movie. Not my favorite Lee Min-ki role for some reason - I think he overacted in a few scenes, but I blame the director. I guess I'm jaded after his awesome performance in Shut Up.

I'm also a little concerned seeing how much weight he's lost. It's really sad that I see this gorgeous man and instead of wanting to do naughty things to him, my fantasy is force feeding him samgyupsal (OK, and then doing naughty things to him!)

He's so interesting to look at, with the way his face changes. I like the way he moves, too - you can see that better when someone is thin, I think. And his acting talent - I've never not liked what he does in anything I've seen.

So I'm back. I feel kind of lazy today. I read through the comments and I'm happy that Shel is completely recovered from the surgery; school is almost over so all of the students can start enjoying their summer soon. Particularly ricky, who will have time to enjoy the beautiful Yoo Inna all he wants in Queen In-hyun's Man.
Ms. cmrprindle I'm glad you found the way to the right place at the right time.
Like many others I'm anxiously waiting for Marriage Plot subs.
Over the week I finished Hungry, Ending Planer, Skip a Beat, and Glowing She.
Kind of disappointing with Hungry, something was missing with that ending.
Ending Planer was nice and satisfying. I think it was mostly because the family relationship in the drama gave a nice warm feeling. And I like the development of the stories.
Skip a Beat, I'm going to miss you. I'm glad it went a little bit further than the anime, but not too much.
Glowing She...well it had its moments, but it wasn't perfect, lack originality and it wasn't funny. At least it has a good dose or overdose of shower scenes. They have to use well Kim Hyung-jun talent. Even when his acting is not as terrible as his others SS501 friends, he still has a long way to go.
Twelve Men in a Year: Up to episode 12. So far is ok, it has some cute moments, and is entertaining but not addicting. It kind of reminds me of I Need Romance, only in this one the main character goes around dating more guys. But in this case, I don't think she'll end up with her ex, but with the writer. At least that's what I would like.

Oooooooh. I love math. You know how Kang Sorq's character in Dream High 2 solved math problems to blow off steam? Well, I was kind of like that in school, but I solved math problems because I enjoyed the challenge. Nothing like being absorbed with math. It was probably a good thing since CompSci classes when I was in college required a lot of higher level math. Heh.

As for the shows. Personally, I'm actually watching Roof top Prince even after reading the recaps - a rarity for me. It's pretty good, but I don't know how to compare it to the other 2 competitors. They're all different, so I say just give each a shot, and see which one you're bound to drop.

Hi Beanies! Happy Easter to those who celebrate! I am looking forward to lamb with mint jelly and coconut custard pie!

Watching: K2H, RTP, Ending Planner, Que Sera Sera, Super Rookie, He Who Can't Marry, KPop Audition whatever, with Yoochun's baby bro.

Loving them all but HWCM is just ... best comedy ever. That guy - SO FREAKING FUNNY, the women - love them all, Yoo Ah In - wah! cuteness! THE DOG. (I have a chihuahua, you know. Her name is Maisie, she does not wear clothes because she rips them off and pees on them in anger, and her bark does not sound like a frog - but she does all the other stuff Sanggu does. So cute.)

My American Idol Top 3: Jessica Sanchez, Joshua whatever his name is, and Phil Phillips.

Is anyone watching Touch, or Awake?

KMusic: new band to listen to (for me, not new in general) NELL

OMG EXCITEMENT: I can watch my beloved Sang Doo whenever I want as many times as I want because nowt's on DF (and I told them I loved them)

Sobering up: Is it possible to actually damage your eyes by crying too much? Because that's a possibility due to the above.

Yay Shel! Yay Shiku! Ricky TRH Oppa, I want to see your hair now, of course. Everyone else who needs it, I wish you new homes, new jobs, better health.

Still laughing over last week's noona movie, which completely ROCKED.

@Momogi
No I'm not done yet, I'm about a third in - Dr Jang and Jo Jae Hee are kind of realizing they like each other but NOT that the other one is feeling the same; YAI and KSE are boyfriend/girlfriend. Exactly where I am is Dr Jang's dad just closed his business and they ate soup from the place Jae Hee found for her.

I do not find this boring at all. I could watch his facial expressions for HOURS, and I love watching the very subtle changes going on with everyone.

But really, is it my imagination or is he even MORE dysfunctional now than when it started? I mean...he actually displays symptoms that would make me think he's got Aspergers at this point, when in the beginning he just seemed like a smart guy who would rather be alone than deal with other people.

In any event, I find her struggle very touching, I love her interaction with her young friend, and I love both guys for different reasons but ultimately I think each character here is endearing, for all their foibles.

Very much so, but in this case, he's good looking. Yay Korea for the pretty, always!

I was watching something on regular tv last night and thinking wow, these guys are not impressive at all.

Oh! I know what it was - on American Idol (which I adore and always have) they had this British group that's apparently a huge hit: The Wanted.

Um? No? Song: ok, not great. Dancing: non-existent except for scantily clad background dancers. Singers: meh or less than meh in both appearance and sound (except for 1 guy, who actually looked to be Indian)

I was really, really, really NOT IMPRESSED.

Put BIG BANG on AI, bit**es!

0

Yeah, I was watching it, too. They couldn't sing and all that jumping around took away what remaining breath they had.

This is the time to intro more K-pop onto the American stage (and NOT like JYP sending the Wonder Girls to the Apollo - that was just embarrassing to watch) - but Big Bang, SNSD, MBlacq - any largish group who can dance and sing without Autotuning and using clear English could hit it big. The timing just feels right. CN Blue slammed LA a few weeks ago. K-pop is finally on the national radar thanks to a bunch of Hollywood celebs tweeting about K singers.

0

That's a tough call to make Cynthia. Last I check, Big Bang gets pretty heavily autotuned, and sometimes what carries them through a performance is not so much their singing prowess but their dancing and charisma. Kpop is no more perfect live then any other groups the world has to offer. I checked the youtube clip for The Wanted on American Idol (yeah, it was not impressive), and the song is one that I know is making the rounds on the radio, I wouldn't know if they're popular though. Half of them (maybe 1 or 2) seem to be capable of holding a note, which in any singing group, even one like SNSD, proves to be true. SNSD's live performances get pretty cringeworthy as only a few of the girls can actually sing. I'll give it to kpop for having groups that can put on a performance (because hey, anyone can turn a deaf ear to any lacking singing performances as long as there's a dancing WOW factor) that most pop groups from around the world (except maybe Jpop?) seem to be lacking. If anything else, we can always travel back to the 90s when pop groups that could sing AND dance, like Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, existed. Heh.

0

well I think the more he has interaction with people the weirder Jo Jae-hee gets. Haha

What gets me to this drama is its simple story and I found it very relatable, there's no evil scheme or grandeur plan, more like a slice of life kind of story, which I like best.
Every characters have their own story arc and journey that I'd love to go along with them. I think there's no 2dimesional character here, everybody has their fair share.

Oh how I miss you He Who Can't Marry..

I really love it too. I have the same feeling about this that I did Kimchi Family. Although one is more funny and the other is more serious, they are both touching, simple stories about people who find their metaphoric home. I walked away from KF feeling really happy and good about human beings and all signs point toward HWCM doing the same thing. Yay!

0

"Still laughing over last week’s noona movie, which completely ROCKED."

Hope everyone had an enjoyable week.

So I'm like head over heels in love with K2H and I don't ever want to let go of that feeling. Its been a hot minute since a KDrama show had hooked me like that from tfe first episode.
I love this show and I say screw the ratings, which in my opinion tries to downplay the awesomeness of not only the cast but crew as well. I hope that teamK2H doesn't pay attention to ratings because that doesn't always determine how great a show is.

And YAY Lee Min Ho(t) is coming back awww. I know it's gonna be great cuz he will be in it.

Trudging through the last couple of episodes right now and now I remember why I dropped it. 1) Not really a fan of action angst. I'm a little bored. 2) Kim Na Na is like the dimmest, most useless creature on the planet. Just finished the part of Ep 14 where she visits the evil Dad. First of all...she's heard the stories...this dude is insane! What on Earth made her think she could go in there all Betty Bad Ass , in skinny jeans and Louboutins, and expect positive results? She didn't have a gun, bazooka or a hand grenade... nada...just a designer bag and some lip gloss. In that man's house, running off at the mouth. If they were truly gangster she would have been bound and gagged before she even set one foot in the door. Then she has the audacity to ask evil, illogical dude to let City Hunter boy (I can't even be bothered to look up names right now) go. By this point even I wanted to jump through the TV and shoot her. Do you really think your man would appreciate you interrupting? Only moments ago she was mad at him for rescuing her and endangering his life. He wouldn't have to rescue you if you weren't so friggin' stupid. How did you even get pass security to work in the Blue House? S. Korea needs to work on their vetting system. Lord...this girl got my blood pressure up.

@ Trixicopper and @ Cruelsummer,

I just read your comments and I was LOL!!! You guys are so funny, it was a good laugh, so I thank you for that. Cruelsummer, by the end of your rant, you sounded like your blood pressure could be up. Did you check it? (ha, ha, ha).

As much as I like LMH, I would have to confess that even I had to let some of the not so logical plots and scenes slide, just so I could enjoy the show. As trixi said, there were a lot of good moments, but also some moments when one just had to shake her/his head and move on to the next scene. I personally didn't think that LMH always had chemistry with PMY and I might be in the minority in saying that, but I just didn't always feel it. It wasn't always palpable to me. I thought all the veteran actors and ahjussi were excellent (as they usually are) and I liked the comedian tall guy, I thought he was funny.
I also didn't think that LMH shined in every single scene. What I mean by that is that to me, an actor/actress is excellent when I see him/her as the character, not as the actor playing that particular character. In CH, there were scenes (especially the actions scenes) where LMH was really good, mostly because as JB put it, "he wasn't trying to act cool" and that worked to his advantage, because he did look cool. And then there were scenes where it looked to me like LMH the actor, playing the city hunter, the character and I was very aware of it. I could see that LMH was doing his best, but it was still LMH playing a character and not me being able to just buy that he WAS that character (and not LMH). I hope what I just said made sense, because I know what I am trying to say, but I don't know if I was able to convey it.
All in all, I did enjoy the drama, because I thought it had a lot of good actors, I liked the OST, the cinematography, the cliffhangers to me were good, the directing for the most part was good and I liked the writing (almost all of it). I saw CH a long time ago, so I don't remember the parts I found questionable at the moment.
But hum, yeah, you guys had me in stitches, literally. I have never seen Cruelsummer so passionate while ranting :-) That was fun :-). Now I know what to bring up to see her getting all riled up :-) (and no, I am not trying to be mean or provoke you, Cruelsummer:-), *wink, wink* ).

My city is one of the big city in the country, so it feel sucks if I have to wait longer. Imagine I live in Korea, Daegu for example but Bow still playing at Seoul, that's how things go, I mean Seoul and Daegu is not that different, right right?.

Asian movies is rarely come to my cinema, last time I can recall is IP Man 2. Mostly they play Chinese movies or India.

Game of Thrones. Is. Back.

Dowager Queen In Soo. Rules.

Having seen "Wrath of the Titans" (mindless fun) I am crushing on the actor who plays Ares the God of War:

I'm slowly warming up to both Rooftop Prince and King2Hearts, but the thing that gets me is that the Big Bad Villains are so over the top that I can't take them seriously. I mean, in K2H, is the crazy Club M mastermind really necessary? I feel like there's more than enough conflict in the reunification tensions alone, so why can't our romance-blocker come in the form of a North/South extremist? Oi. But I suppose crazy Club M keeps things ridiculous.

On another note, I'm starting Extreme K-Pop Survival (or whatever it's called). It feels kind of like a You're Beautiful redux, in that it's the cross dressing girl in the idol world, but the acting hasn't really wowed my socks off (the female lead kind of reminds me of Geum Jan-di in all the wrong ways). The drama does have a cute charm, but I dunno if I'll keep going.

I would like to guess that a middle evil man not on both side of the border allows better treading through the sensitive political minefield. The shows already getting a lot of brickbats for postulating a NK moving towards piece.

That's definitely true. Maybe his craziness is what brings the two halves of Korea together? United against a common enemy and whatnot.

This is what I get for being lazy! I'm late for the OT.

Happy OT!/Weekend!

I need to start a pile of Calc homework but I keep hearing K2H calling my name. Damn you drama and your addictive qualities! Don't you realize I have a mountain of hw to complete by Monday... I guess I can just do it later.

Speaking of K2H. I like everything about it. I can honestly say that so far nothing is making me mad or causing me to have a kdrama headache. Same for RP which is steadily becoming my favorite drama of all time.

I also watched Punch and Chilling Romance. Chilling Romance even though I loved the leads, I found the story lacking. The music was comical. I couldn't take the movie seriously. Did I really need music cues to know when a scene was comedic? Punch was awesome. Loved the characters. I cried and laughed and I didn't need any cues either. It also brought up a question. His mom in the film was Filipino. May I ask whats the deal with not having both parents Korean? Not asking negatively just honestly want to know. I was thinking it has to due with culture more than a racist thing. Cause from all that I've seen and heard, culture/traditions is really important and teaching and passing it down to younger generations is even more so.

In a homogenous race/ethnicity society it is always a problem to be of mixed parentage. Plus the strong conformist social ethos. Only been to Korea as tourist, but during my stay in Japan I had the same impression.
