Thank you, Gummimochi, for your recaps which I have been very much looking forward. Having kept myself “spoilerfree”, I still wonder what the ending might turn out to be.

Whether this drama did well or not rating-wise does matter to its producer/writer/cast, but to us viewers it felt rather satisfying to see both leads embody such strong and unusual characters. Kim Hye Jang and Lee Kyu Han did manage to convey lots and were given a silver (not quite the golden tho) opportunity to “shine”, especially considering their previous dramas/roles.

I wonder what will happen in the last episode… Probably the wedding (but only Sun-hee’s), main couple will get together, Gun-hee will find the perfect taste of mom’s kimchi…

Thank you for the recap. I just wanted to say I really liked some of your views on this episode. When I scrolled down and saw the picture of Gun-hee and Kang-jae on opposite sides of the door I hadn’t thought much about it, but I loved your interpretation. An overlying theme throughout the series is the question of which is better, tradition or consumerim/capitalism? That photo was a great example of that. It definitely looked like two different worlds were being seperated by that door.

I also liked your take on what it means to make good kimichi and how it ties to how one feels and their memories. Gun-hee might be able to make her better if she follows Kang-jae’s advice and thinks over their happy memories together.
