If there ever was a bromance to end all bromances, it’s hands-down Sungkyunkwan Scandal’s epic sidekick pair, played by Song Joong-ki and Yoo Ah-in. Here they are shooting a commercial campaign, being crazy adorable and keeping the bromance alive. It’s kind of amazing that two years after the drama has come and gone, seeing these two together is still unicorns and rainbows for all, but I guess that’s just a testament to how memorable their characters really were.
I love that true to their Sungkyunkwan characters and their actor personas, Yoo Ah-in attempts to look badass and then crumbles in embarrassment when Song Joong-ki’s like, I’m going to hug you and then we’re going to make hearts with our hands! Ah-in: Noooo! Joong-ki: Yessssss! You’ll see, it will be awesome! Ah-in: I’m going to kill you!
I LOVE IT.
Though Fashion King was a bust, we got a good mashup out of it with Yoochun, but this is the pair we really want to see together, yeah? Thank ye CF gods for the cutexplosion. Hoping for good things for their next projects, but till then…

it was reported that his next drama is “Nice Guy”, which is said to air in August.
He was ok in Sungkyunkwan, but he blew me AWAY in Tree With Deep Roots. The scene with him vs his dad was one of best scene in the drama.
And the arrows!! Love Jang but can I say I liked Tree better with the younger set?!
He was my favorite in SKKS but I became a fan-girl after TWDR.
I’m looking forward to “Nice Guy” and I love his leading lady Moon Cae Won.

Does Korean girls and Korean boys really like bromance.
Whne u say BROMANCE, what kind of romance is it,
like, falling for each other,
sexually attracted to each other.
Is it EROS kind, FILIAL , STORGE etch.
I’m deducing , that the reason, girls in general like bromance in dramas, because in general, Men are reserved with their fellow men unlike girls who are forward in holding hands with fellow girls, most of the time we kiised each other cheeks when we said goodbye with no malice at all. Men are different though, and to see in dramas that they show affection , makes us girls comfy. I don’t know, i’m not Korean, but I’d really like to know.
For me, i cringed everytime i see a scene where both men are showing affection to each other. I’m not anti-gay or anything , I respect people’s choices, but i just didn’t get used to it in my culture. Honestly asking ok, no hate replies please.
A bromance is where two -often straight- guys share an almost brotherly affection for each other. It’s pretty much another word for friendship, but a friendship that outwardly shows that the two guys are best friends who really care about each other and bond with each other- they’re not just best drinking buddies who play in the same fantasy football league.
I agree with you that one of the reasons girls in general like bromances in drama is because guys are usually so macho and reserved with each other (because that is why society tend to expect of men) that we love how they feel comfortable enough to connect with another male. In dramas/fiction, the bromance often happens between two guys who are not alike at all or are at cross-purposes and that makes it extra addictive. Beyond all odds, two very different guys end up in an unlikely friendship where they are willing to sacrifice themselves for the other.
It’s more of a rom-com version of seeing two guys band together as brothers, watching each other’s back, during times of war….or even two guys becoming “Sworn brothers” in ye olden days.
Thank u Asian Romance. it’s just I am amazed with some things. I have been crazy about Korean actors and singers lately, and I search them in the net and watch in You TUBE. The general comments of videos were u can see Korean boy Idols kissing each other (Big BAng , SOJU etch) seems enjoyable for others.
Some comments would say , they are gay, like G-Dragon or Hee Chul, but I read a strong commentary that they are not and that they are just doing this to please the young girls, because it is what they want. Those Aegyo moves and bromance. i mean sometimes with the hair and make-up of some male idol, they really do look like female. It’s not that i don’t like it, i sometimes feel drawn to them but really , is this the current trend in Korea. thank U once again!
