He~j. Sorry, I'm only replying now. I don't get a ping back to my mail when you answer and I've been away for a few days.
Thank you so much for everything! And the Youtube link!!! *hugglez* TV shows are not only a good way to learn languages, but also to learn about history - you get emotionally invested and then read up on what happened. I learned about the French Revolution from watching Versailles no Bara/Lady Oscar. ^o^

I hope you will be watching Gaksital. If any show is worth watching, this is it. You could come to the Soompi forum to discuss about it ...

Anyways, hope to hear from you again (one day at least)! So long and thanks for all the fish. :)

Hi, this is my first time commenting, and I love this website,

Is anyone watching Golden Time? It is a really different role for Lee Sun Gyun because he is a newbie doctor in way over his head. I think it is definitely worth watching, and I like it better than White Tower. I liked Wt ok, but I just could not get over the O Tannenbaum in the soundtrack.

I am a lady from Texas who is totally hooked on Kdramas and I enjoy reading this site because it has great comments in English!

@Simon
If I were to recommend only one Polish drama that would be definitely "Dom". It is commonly considered to be the best of the best and I perosnally love it. It shows poeple's fates with history in the background. You may have to read a wee bit about the historical events to enjoy to the full, but even if you don't, you can't help but feel for the characters. Surprise, surprise, it's online and subbed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0D5ENHBMLQ
Just pay attention not to confuse it with "Dom nad rozlewiskiem" - it's immensely popular, but it drives me mad - really ajumma-esque stuff, cheesy and generic.
Another drama I find great is "Ekstradycja" - about a policeman with issues. Really good, fabulous music, but I am afraid there isn't any subbed version.

And, yes, I am going to watch Gaksital, I am just not sure when :)

@kopytko:
5 seasons?!!! omo ^^; But the DVDs have English subtitles, that's wonderful! I'll look for them next time I'm in Poland! :) Are there other shows or movies you can recommend? I agree that watching TV shows and movies (with subs, maybe) is a very good way of learning the language! I've pretty much learned Japanese from watching Anime (and studying at university, OK. *ahem* :3 ) and now I'm starting to pick up more and more Korean from all the dramas I watch.
Reading books is, of course, also a good way. I've been dying to read the Witcher series (Saga o Wiedźminie), but my Polish isn't even good enough for the children's books I bought last time I visited Warszawa. And I don't really have time to study (Polish) that much, because my uni studies have absolutely nothing to do with it... :/
With regards to the Russian cartoons - I've never seen the Russian Poo (as far as I remember, ahem), but I know what you mean. Even as a child I thought Disney films were really really ... stupid. Oversimplified. Puritan goody good - wickedly evil dichotomy (and in the end, evil always dies, har!). In an interview Miyazaki once said that Disney lied to children (about the world). It's all so ... empty. The European and Asian cartoons I watched (and watch, to be honest :P ) have much more ... "soul", you know what I mean? *sigh*

Anyways, thank you for replying so patiently to my never ending barrage of questions! *hugz* :)

And btw: you have to watch Bridal Mask or: "Gaksital will never forgive you!" ;)
