Peppertones – “Asian Game.” If Korea had hipsters, this is the song I imagine they’d be rocking out to. Well, rocking out internally—outwardly they’d be tapping toes indifferently, nursing PBRs and looking out through asymmetrical haircuts, pretending not to dance inside. [ Download ]

Bonjour Kakashi,

And thanks for the compliment *bows.* Sooo glad to know that you are happy. May I ask what brought that on? (I am just being curious :-), maybe you are just happy, no particular reason?). Being happy is always a good thing, in my book!!!!!

Hope you will continue to be happy :-)...

you know, Ivoire, the question "why are you happy" is actually quite a challenging question to answer! :-)
Why am I happy? I guess it's because I have a wonderful family and I am currently co-authoring a paper with somebody, which I find very inspiring. And then, I love the Korean shows that are currently airing, so that also makes me happy... and I just cooked my husband's favourite dish, it smells nice here, and that also makes me happy. So I'm still happy today, which is gooood

0

Hey Kakashi,

I LOVE your answer, all around. Those to me are good reasons to be happy, so please, enjoy being happy, to the fullest :-)!!!! It's nice to see that you truly appreciate those times and you recognize them, good for you!!!!!

Finalement, bonjour Mysti,

Yeah, OT was a little early yesterday and I just happened to catch that. I didn't expect to be the first one to post, it just happened. How are you? It does feel nice to be in this corner of cyberspace...

I hope your weekend is going well and that the weather is nice, if not bearable where you are. Are you still gardening?

The fun times of gardening are coming to an end: I tidy up everything for the cold season. Now I'm spying the apple tree, almost good. *dreaming of custard apple tarts*

Ooh, "Custard apple tarts," that sounds delicious, Yum!!!!!
Do you think you could share the recipe with me and/or point me (online) towards some good recipes you have tried and liked? I would really appreciate that. I will be working with some children soon (YAY!!!!!) and I would love to introduce them to new recipes and foods, besides trying some new things myself :-). I love to cook, I just have to have people to eat it.
What dramas are you currently watching? I guess I could also scroll down to your name and read, but it would be nice if you told me. Among those dramas, are there any that you prefer? (I am sure VP2 must be one of them :-))

Have a wonderful week!

Ohayao gozaimasu back at you Shukie,

And I am assuming that is Japanese for???? (help...) (I am hoping I guessed the right language). How are you doing and feeling this morning/today? Did you have fun at the wedding? Didn't drink too much champagne, did you? *Imagines Shukie swinging from the chandeliers, LOL*

Well, a good champagne is always good and I hope you guys had a wonderful weather for the wedding :-)...

I saw your questions on last OT: I always listen to the songs of the current drama I am watching, there are always some songs I end up liking. Currently, it is Faith and Gaksital.

Some of the OST dramas I have liked: TK2Hs, QIHM (though I haven't watched the whole drama), Faith, City Hunter, Gaksital, RTP, Personal Taste and AGD, to name a few. For some dramas, I might not like the whole OST, and end up focusing on some of the songs only. OSTs always remind me of the characters and of certain scenes in dramas. Hope this helps.

It's japanese for "good morning", so you got it right!

Wedding was fun; I managed to get my man out on the dance floor a couple of times. Poor guy, he has no rhythm and a low tolerance for alcohol [evil grin], so I only took a couple of pictures. lol

Thanks for answering my question! There's such a difference in soundtracks I find it fascinating that certain OST's stick in people's minds, whether or not the series does (you may recall my "stickiness" experiment in June). I haven't had a chance to look for or listen to the recco's, but I intend to. I haver every single one you mentioned already!

And as a side note for you and Korazy, I wanted to give you a little anecdote:

At the rehearsal dinner, I bumped into a young man I nanny'd for in the early to mid 90's. Needless to say, he's a good deal taller now. Anyways, we bumped into each other in the restaurant and it turns out he's a cook there. We chatted for a few minutes and I caught up with the party, already seated.

A few minutes later, the owner of the restaurant came to the table, congratulated the bridal couple and offered complimentary appetizers. The waitress told me later that Mike told her he thought the world of me and mentioned it to the owner. It almost made me bawl, since he's now in his 20's and I only talk to the family maybe a couple of times a year. It kind of shows how your actions have a greater impact than you can imagine!

Sorry to wax rhapsodic, I just thought you'd like that, since you've been a caretaker too. Anyway, have a great Saturday!

Ahh, Shukie, love this story! (yes, I am sneaking on my daughter's computer again so I can actually tell who replied to what)

I have to laugh because I am married to a totally rythmless guy and I love to dance! Sometimes his dancing is truly cringeworthy, but you have to take the bad with the good!

Glad you enjoyed the wedding!

0

@ Shukie, love your story, thank you so much for sharing :-). I have to go get ready (I am going to church), so I will reply later. You know what to do...

LOL - read it.

I'll see what I can do, after I finish my vampire romance fiction and my multigenerational fiction. :-)

0

I would be ever so honored if you did that, no pressure however and as long as it is PG-13 :-). I tend to be more into reading and watching emotions being displayed and the changes that people go through as they grow, heal, fall in love and interact with others, etc...

And then during the PDA and intimate moments (and I don't mean like S-E-X detailed, more like even holding hands can be intimate depending on what it means for both parties involved, a gaze, that kind of thing), I want to know how the woman felt (how it affected her, in this case Ivoire) and how the guy felt. Very often, we are told about the guy's physical reactions and not enough about how he was affected emotionally, mentally, psychologically etc... I want to read and find out about that.

Also, as you can tell by my behavior on DB and on OT, I am very relationship driven, so relationships are important to me. It would be nice if relationships are a big part of the story as well and international and intercultural friendships, that kind of thing... So, not that I am telling you what to write, because I am not, but I hope this helps somehow... :-). I know you have a great imagination, so I leave things up to you. Also, please make me a good girl (not naive, but you know... romantic, sentimental, intelligent [emotionally and otherwise] because, as you must have gathered from reading my posts, I am :-))

Also, P.S.: I will not be mad or angry if that fanfic does not happen, so again, no pressure :-)

I haven't tried the omelet recipe yet, I will let you know when I do and how it came out :-)!!! Do you know how to make "chocolate con churros" or where I could find a good recipe for it? (also, a good recipe for a yummy paella [that has been tried and tested, preferably]). Thanks :-)!!!!

Hello Ivoire! I've been really sparse around OT lately because I did land that job in Minneapolis area and have been in this crazy transition between jobs and having TWO weddings to be in coming up!!! One of them is this weekend, the other is in two weeks. Looks like I'll be moving moving after that wedding so the cramp in my kdrama style isn't going to let up anytime soon! Yay? Sigh? hahaha. I keep thinking it would have been nice to get together with the other local kdrama fans in CA before I relocate, but I have no time. :( In any case, a real job!!! finally moving out of parents house!!! Minneapolis/St.Paul!!!! *excited* :)

Good morning Christy,

It is sooo good to hear from you. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW JOB!!!!!! That is wonderful news, really!!!! I am soooooo happy for you *Does the happy dance for you* Now get ready to experience some serious cold *Brrrrrrrr,* but then you will also experience fully the four seasons :-)

WOW!!!!! and TWO weddings!!!! My, you are a very busy woman, and that's good too. Your life sounds very exciting and that's great!!!!! So, are both weddings in CA? Don't worry about Kdramas, the good news is they will still be there when you are ready to watch them :-)

Maybe at some point, when you visit CA, we could meet? You know you should be able to find us on OT... We can also exchange emails if you want to and stay in touch that way (I might not always be on OT). Will it be your first time in MN? I think you will love it there...

And I'm excited for you!!! Like you said, new job, out of your parents' house, that is wonderful, indeed! Enjoy your weddings and your new season!!! It sounds like you are going through some positive changes, YAY!!!!!

Good morning (my time) OTS,

I am good. And you? How was your last trip and did you manage to finish the project you were working on (writing) and turn it in? And what about your sleep pattern, back to normal?

I didn't respond to your last comment last week, but I loved what you said about your male roommates and how things were between you guys. If I had roommates like that, I would miss them too. Any dreams of LMHot lately? (interesting to see I don't have the corner on that market, LOL)

Have a great weekend!!! Still enjoying Faith? Are you completely done with the move and unpacked? Fun, isn't it?

Hey-hey, Ivoire!:)
The trip was good, thank you! Cardiff is just such a lovely city, and I think I enjoyed in more than the actual conference. I'm working on an update/paper for my supervisors now, but trying to take it easy/easier, and I'm also flying home next week for a wedding.
Alas, no dreams about LMHot since that last one, but now I do soooooort of wish I had a friend like the LMH from my dream. :)
I'm still enjoying Faith, and surprisingly, mostly because of the romance. The OTP has a great chemistry, and the shadow tracing scene was just so amazingly intense!

Hey CRP,

What's cooking? How are you doing? Any success continuing to hook your friend on Kdramas? :-) We talked about that a loooong time ago, don't know if you remember.
Are you still singing? If yes, any concerts/performances lately?

0

Required fields are marked *

Ivoire! I do remember our last talk, ages ago, and it's totally my fault that it didn't continue.

The hooking of the friend was going swimmingly until she started having trouble with her eyes. We haven't quite finished Best Love (and I'm starting to think I never will, lol) but I know she really wants to. As soon as she can see without squinting and needing to rest her good eye. I have no idea what to suggest for our 3rd drama. Any suggestions? We seem to do well with romcoms.

I am still singing. Our rehearsal season just started...our 3rd one was last night otherwise I actually might have been online. We're trying some new stuff this year. I might actually write a song. Meep! But no concert-y stuff coming up. Our teacher/mentor will be gone part of October and all of November, and we'll be learning an entirely new repetoire, so it'll take us a while before we're performance ready.

And how are things with you? (Although, I'm sure if I scroll up I can see that for myself, lol.) I am re-reading Shuk's "The Prince & His Harem" ever so slowly, as she was kind enough to send it to me via kindle (joy!) and you've been on my mind. :)

Hey CRP, I have been on your mind? Yay!!!! *Squees with joy* :-). Yeah, if you scroll up, you will get an idea of what's going on with me. I can't stay long now, because I am moving soon and I still have a lot to figure out. I am trying to be good and not be on OT and on DB for too long.
You know me, however, I will eventually answer and touch on the points you mentioned :-)! Enjoy your reading. Also, you have a blog, right?

0

Yay! I'm mentioned! Even though Iv still hasn't forgiven me for her character, I'm sure. ;-)

0

@ Shukie,

Yeah, you are right! Iv STILL hasn't forgotten you for killing her WONDERFUL character :-( I mean, how could you do that? *wines and taps her foot* You could have at least given her a wonderful, gorgeous, adorable, wealthy, accomplished, sophisticated, I would-follow-you-to-the-end-of-the-earth and listen-to-you-all-day-long kind of guy (you guys have seen how long my posts can be, yeah, I can talk like that as well, that's how I bond, what can I say. I am also a good listener though).
You know, the guy could have seduced and impressed her with his amazing qualities and because he lived in another (exotic) country and her contract with the company was up, she would have willingly followed him wherever he went (let's be honest, Iv ain't getting any younger and the guy is one in a million :-)). I know, I know, that is kind of Ricky's character I described (maybe), but Iv is not trying to steal anyone's thunder and would have loved to be taken out of the story because she was whisked away by a very charming and kind and loving man of her own.

So Shukie, for the time being, go sit in the corner and think about what you did, *Pouts and crosses her arms* :-)

0

@ CRP, still haven't been able to answer you, will try at some point, however...:-)

How's the family? Still enjoying the peace and quiet at home, I hope :-). What kind of weather are you guys having at this time of the year? (I am just curious. I always want to know what is going on in other people's countries).

Hello everyone,

And what a warm welcome!!!! *smiles* I wasn't planning on being on OT today because I end up being here for hours and since I like to procrastinate, well... being on OT doesn't always help, but the warm welcome makes me change my mind (about how I felt earlier), especially when I look at the gloomy weather I can see from my window *sighs*

I hope you guys have a better weather and better weather forecast for this weekend in your part of the world. It is supposed to be nicer later in the day, and I am hoping that is what will happen.

@ Kakashi: Sorry I didn't answer back last weekend, so I did today (I like to finish my conversations)

1--18.1.1.1.3 Ivoire September 28th, 2012 at 7:42 am
(I will have to add something to that: it's not that I don't like to see abs, it's more that once or twice is good enough for me. After that, it becomes gratuitous and it's not new anymore. This is a case for me where "less is more" or better, "less is good" as far as I am concerned. I think I just wanted to speak up for those who are like me, however few we might be :-). Knowing you, I think you will understand :-)

2--Still at Kakashi: 35.2.1.2 Ivoire September 28th, 2012 at 8:04 am (Can you tell I am a LMH fan, I know quite a bit about him, :-). I think that it is more that I just care about him a lot, overall).

3--@ Sabah, I just saw your post on last OT, you are sooo smart, and you know me well already :-)!!!!! (see the comment I made earlier to Kakashi about liking to finish my conversations. That character trait of mine earned me a "long nickname" on OT a few weeks ago, and we had a good laugh about that. The lady who gave me the nickname did well, for it represented who I have been on OT and on DB in general, as well as who I tend to be in real life :-)...

4--@ Aryast, thanks for posting some YT examples of Hans Zimmer's music. I haven't listened to it yet, but I will (I will make a note of it) :-). I hope that all is well with you... Also, I just saw your fangirling about JIW and it brought a smile to my face. This is partly why I love this blog, because we can do things like that here and not worry about looking (or in this case "sounding") stupid. I can only dream of a day when I would meet my favorite Korean actors and actresses and singers, basically, my favorite Korean celebrities (not all of them are actors/actresses and singers).

To the rest of you, I am getting ready to answer you individually... You know how I like to personalize my interactions :-)

I couldn't work out if you thought I was smart because I comprehended the state of your character OR that if it was a general observation. If it is the first, I would say that it has nothing to do with me since you are an open book and in a good way, the kind that is the antithesis to hypocrisy. If it is the second, then I would be troubled because it always worries me when people agree with me, let alone think that I talk sense. Hehe.

I can easily believe that people would bestow you with 'terms of endearment.' It has been a honour to have known you.

Hi Sabah, I just left you a long response in the last OT, I hope you will see it. I will be back to respond to your comment here, (and you know I will :-))

Required fields are marked *

Sabah, don't be so modest :-)

I actually meant both of your meanings, come to think of it (see, you are sooo smart :-)). You DID comprehend the state of my character AND it was a general observation as well. I DO think you are smart and you know how to read people. You are also right that I am an open book, and INTENTIONALLY SO. Can I just add that you do talk sense, a lot :-)!!!!

The honor (to have known you) has been all mine and I hope it will continue to be ours. Speaking of terms of endearment, "Ivoire" is one of those, as I explained at length in the last OT. Some of the people here, with whom I am connected on other social media, still call me "Ivoire" there and not by my real name, because to them, that's who I am, and I think that's very cool. It is also our mutual connection to DB, because that is where I use that name the most (here and with my family).

I have replied in #258 OT. Of course, there is no obligation to read and reply but I wouldn't expect you to do otherwise BUT please even despite yourself, do not feel obliged and if you do reply, do so in your own time.

I think Ivoire is most befitting since it encompasses so much of you, your history and attitude. Speaking as someone who inclines to call people by their full names mainly because it is the names their parents bestowed upon them, I do find that upon occasion, nicknames encompass a quality or essence of a person that their full names don't. I would concur with your friends that Ivoire it quite the perfect fit. : )

Hi Sabah,

Just got done reading your response on OT # 258 and I loved it. I really love the way you write. I will take you at your word and will answer when I have the time. As I said in my last post (below), I need to move, in the next few days.
I have a suggestion, which you don't have to agree to: since we are getting personal (meaning sharing personal views and information), would you mind if I gave you my email address and we continued to get to know each other via email? I have done that with 4 ladies I met on OT so far, and so far so good. Again, just a suggestion, it felt kind of appropriate to move it to another venue, especially considering the nature of the information shared.

Please let me know what you think, and have a wonderful weekend, I hope.

I think that would be a good idea. I had wanted to suggest it but I feared that it might frighten you off. Hehe.

Let's use this account I use for such purposes, i.e. if you send me your email via this account then I will reply to it through my actual personal account.

newcvraja@gmail.com

I would insist that you reply in your own time. I always try to resist that fast pace of modern life and persist in trying to 'gently stroll' through life. Hehe. Take your time.

Though moving can be difficult, I would wish you well for those days wherein you begin to make your new house, a home. Happy new memories.

0

Hi Sabah, just wanted to let you know that I did send you an email. And I will take my time to answer you, thank you for your time and your patience :-)

OK guys, it is 12:29pm my time on this Friday, and I have been on two OTs (# 259 and # 258) since 6:17am this morning. Duty calls, and I need to go deal with life and issues and moves, yeah, you read right. As always, I will be back at some point, so please remember to check here, if you wish to find out what I wrote.

Again a wonderful weekend to all of you, and I will just say, "A Bientot" (See you or in OT's case, Read you soon).

Good morning KL,

It is sooo good to hear from you :-)!!!! So, you are exhausted, huh... LOL. Yeah kids, you gotta love them though, I know I do. I know I am a little younger than you, so maybe that makes a difference? You have to admit that having kids around can be fun though, all those hugs, and "I love yous," and playing with dolls, and trucks, and reading books and singing, (and in my case teaching them foreign languages and foreign cultures), and kissing booboos away (when they hurt themselves) etc... I have to be honest and confess that I actually love doing that. It makes my heart feel full and I get to participate in how they are raised and teach them manners and help them and their families in the children's development, what's not to love? :-)

That being said, yeah, kids can be exhausting, I totally agree with that, which is why I am sooo happy they have parents I can return them to :-)... It makes it a little easier and helps in handling the time I have with them.

Have you left Oregon yet? Where were you with the two kids? Did you visit your daughter in LA? (that's how I can explain it).

I haven't forgotten our conversations either and I have been swamped as well, so I guess we could pick up where we left off, whenever we pick that back up? It might be easier for me to talk to you on the phone, so let me know when you would be free to talk, and I will give you my number. There are a number of things we could discuss, besides the matter we said we would discuss.

The weather is gloomy again this morning. I hope that you are having a much better weather than I am, and that you day is going well :-)

Thanks for answering, Ivoire. I was called to LA early to help my daughter out, so it is my grandkids I've been watching. They are adorable (check out my facebook page!) but BIG. The 5 month old is 20 lbs, the 21 month old is 34 lbs. So that is one of the reasons I'm exhausted - from the constant picking up and transporting them places. Also, I have been helping to decorate their new house, which means I am literally in charge of the design, shopping for items, and right down to painting the walls myself. So I have been a busy person.

The saving grace here has been the weather. Absolutely fabulous, and I have been taking advantage of it by walking the kiddies for at least an hour a day, sometimes more than once. Tomorrow is my last day, and I will miss them, but I need to get back to my life (and my KD's!) I'm so behind on Faith, I don't know where I left off or what's going on. The only thing I've managed to watch is Nice Guy. (Love it!)

Are you watching anything besides that now?

Hi KL,

You do sound like a very busy woman, good for you! It is supposed to keep out of trouble :-). As busy and as tired as it sounds, it also sounds like you had some fun, and some exercise, for sure, which is great!!!! I will have to look at your FB page to see the pictures of your grandkids.

You must be really good at decorating, if your daughter put you in charge of that. I will keep that in mind when I have my own place :-)...

I am also glad you guys had an awesome weather, that always helps when needing to take babies outside. I am also sure you will be happy to be back in your own home and resuming your routine, which includes watching addicting Kdramas :-) (I can relate). For now, I am only sticking to Faith, because of how I watch Kdramas (it's a long process, he he he) and also because I actually want to reduce the # of dramas I am watching. I am considering (have been for a while) not watching any drama at some point for a while (even if it's a short while) so I can reflect (on my life) and turn my attention to other things (I will be a little less distracted). I still haven't done it yet, but I want to, at some point. I think it might be good for me (I also think I will go through withdrawal pains, maybe :-) but that will be OK. Living life is important too :-))

I hope your weekend is ending well!

Happy Friday, DBOT's!

This week finds me mired in RL, but I thought I'd seagull down, drop some stuff, and fly away again. lol

I finished Haeundae Lovers, which was a nice light fluffy piece to get away from the darker elements in my life: Arang and Faith.

Watched the final of RMPW and will miss Oguri Shun's hair. I will not, however, miss Ishihara Satomi's lips. I can't even tell you what was wrong; there was just a fundamental dissonance in her face. I really enjoyed the show nevertheless.

Anyways, I'm going to a Friday wedding, and won't be up for a while. Everyone take care!

[nodsnods] The wedding is at noon today (currently 0940 here EST), so I really have to pull out the warpaint and start the prepwork on making me beautiful - lol.

I also managed to watch most of Autumn's Concerto, starring Wu Vanness, and Long Vacation, both from 2009. I guess I was into pianos this week. Liked them both, altho Wu gets the number one thumbs-up in my book, but I'm not going to claim shallowness in looking at those abs. 8-)

I should have episode 10 of my recap project uploaded tonight (cross fingers). Just the screencaps to do. That will depend on how long the champaigne flows at the reception. [wink]

It was fun! I danced a lot, including my guy (who really has no rhythm) and the 75 year old grandmother of the bride. They gave out bags of Virginia peanuts as favors and had a huge spread of candy as a side table. Plus open bar. I headed over to the parent's to give them some of my largesse, since I can't eat peanuts and my dad loves them. It keeps me on the will. hee hee hee

I liked the ending, but hoped for more smoochies; I think the second lead got more lip-time than Natsui. Still, she got the man in the end.

I got a copy of "Crow Zero", a recent Shun film recco'd by a DBOT. Haven't watched it yet as it might be a movie choice for the Movie Noonas at the BB concert.

Hey Shukmeister! Hope the wedding was fun. It is now close to 7 Pacific time and I am just getting my first chance to get on the OT (on a real computer this time.) An emergency came up at my daughter's in LA so I left Portland in a hurry to get here. Now I've been watching two under two for a week and I'm beat. All is well now, though.

** NEW BIG BANG UPDATE - POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL SHOWS **
On one of my BB Alive Tour tracking sites, they made this announcement:

They've added another date to both the Anaheim CA and the Newark NJ showdates. It's not posted on Ticketmaster yet, though, so no idea when tix will go on sale.

Dates will now be Nov 2 / 3 California, Nov 8 / 9 Newark.

I have considered getting a ticket for the new concert date, since my travel plans put me in NYC Thursday morning. That way I can see them twice! Might be Suengri overload, though.

I'm looking forward to actually meeting a bunch of DBOT's and I've been begging...err...respectfully requesting to meet the DB Goddesses, some of which will be there too.

On second thought, I'll probably not consider the new show date, as I may miss out on noraebang with the Noonas, and who doesn't want to shake a tamborine while wearing toilet paper on your head while singing asian pop songs? Badly?

May I ask where (section) are you seats?

0

Noraebang with the noonas sounds right up my alley, Shukie. Not sure if the toilet paper is a good look for me, but put a mic (or a hairbrush or a beer bottle) in my hand and I can sing the night away. Did you find an actual noraebang where you get your own room? Cuz I'm not sure if Newark is ready for the Beaners taking over a karaoke bar!

0

@MeeisLee

Location is allll the way in the back, second tier. We plan to meet up for dinner ahead of time. I'll be updating my blog with the public deets as they become available. We are talking about at least one dinner with as many DBOT's as we can, probably Friday before the concert, in Newark.

@KorazyLady

CMPR is looking into karaoke bars and found a good one in K-town in NYC. We will be putting the final plans together after I get through my weekend with the teens from my church the middle of October.
You've got plans for Saturday already, neh?

I know it really was pretty evil of Hyun Jae to drop the flower pot and cut off the brakes on Tae Joon's bike.

But I really can't seem to hate that guy, especially when he was walking his sister home and squatting down to talk to her. It was just so heartbreaking.

Then he looked genuinely sorry towards Eun Gyul and Tae Joon. So I guess I'm forgiving him..

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

Well, Hye-mi did forgive Baek-hee in the end. And I was yelling at Eun-gyul, "Your roomie just killed your nationals spot, man!"

The way the drama's been going so far, it wasn't so far-fetched for everyone to forgive him-- they're all softys. They were all angry at first, but changed their minds after seeing Hyeon Ji. I'm guessing Hyeon Jae might be in the school on a high jump scholarship, because of what Hyeon Ji said-- mom's working, no mention of dad, the kid is home alone, oppa promised to make their lives better. So he thought he might finally get the upper hand when Tae Joon quit jumping (remember he also leaked the yips thing to the reporter?) and then surprise! TJ's back in fighting form! And then the sponsorship offer, with his chances looking worse and worse. So he's a pretty desperate high school kid. If everyone had condemned him, what would he have done... quit school and jumped off a bridge, in his state of mind? At least now everyone's given him a second chance-- I only hope their faith in him is justified. And it's cute how Eun Gyul is giving him the chance to do penance by making him his "slave." Not realistic, but yeah-- when was this drama ever...?

0
2
reply

Required fields are marked *

Exactly! If they decided not to forgive him, and treat him like shit, I had a feeling he'd do something stupid/ kill himself or something like that. He just seemed so desperate when he did those things, and you could tell he was really conflicted as well.

What he did is still inexcusable, but he's young and I think he deserves a second chance!

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

Ya, I knew that once Hyun Jae threw the flowerpot and cut the bike brakes that they would forgive him within the same episode. These are the same people that let the guy who attacked Jae Hee get away without reporting him among other things.

I just wished the drama showed that there are consequences to bad actions. Yes, Hyun Jae seems to have a bad life. But I see his actions as the same as if someone actually did get seriously hurt - the intents of his actions were to hurt someone. That no one was seriously injured was extremely lucky on everyone else's end - it's not something from Hyun Jae's doing (he did not go and try to stop them from riding the bike, for example). And then to give him a second chance sooo soon - I would be more okay with it if he was actually punished in some way or other (and no, being Eun gyul's slave doesn't count!) and then they forgive him later.

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

I was so worried by that sharp turn into idiot writing land...but they corrected really fast and if it was the only way they could think of to get him smiling with Tae Joon and slaving for Eun Gyeol - I'm good with it.

0

Required fields are marked *

Well, JH and EG call each other "best friends" now and they're cute together, they do try to care for each other, but JH really isn't as close to him as she is with TJ. Plus, when EG confessed to her, she didn't consider telling him she's a girl but she did with TJ. So maybe in another universe without a Tae-joon in it?

Breaks my heart how the Nakatsu is always the most big-hearted character-- EG accepts the possibility that he might be gay and confesses to JH anyway, and now he forgives HJ for derailing his nationals spot. At least he won't be too angry about JH lying to him and ending up with TJ, I guess.

He is totally baby faced but that's why he's so irresistible. Which is a good thing because his character can be quite scary. I miss seeing his cute little smile from the first episode. Sineseryoso ko ang "convalescence" hahaha. Nagsusulat ng K-pop idol fic in the guise of a Tagalog romance, for kicks. At least my BP has now stabilized at 110/80. Katakot yung 180/100 dati.

0

Woah! 180/100? That's scary indeed! Glad you've recovered.
Ay, relax-relax lang.
Haha! Good luck on the fanfic! "Tagalog romance?" now that's an interesting twist. I hope I get to read that piece soon. ;) Must be a very effective therapy writing it.

I try to write fanfics too, pero hindi pa nakakalayo. I have the basic setup - the characters, the setting, but I haven't completed the skeleton of the story and that caused the writing block. Haha! And them laziness came over me.
And then there's this long queue of dramas to watch. LOL. I just went on vacation, and just like work, it all piled up when I returned. :P

I hope you feel a lot better. Aja! Aja! :)

0

Scary talaga, kaya umalis muna ako sa work, hee. At least may napag-gagamitan ng kaadikan natin sa K-drama and stuff?

Haha I took notes from this book "How to Write a Romance Novel and Get It Published" which said to create a notebook for each story, with pages for the characters, setting, plot, etc. Tapos you build character bios. It's working so far. There's also a basic plot formula which isn't that far away from the basic K-drama rom-com/teen romance formula, seeing that Tagalog romances have 10 chapters (100 pages, 20k words) and K-dramas have 16 episodes. So you know where to put the meet-cute, the light and fluffy, and the angst. Who knows, if I actually send it to a publisher you might get to read it? I just have to finish it first-- I'm at 11k words so far.

0

Happy OT everyone! ^^

What a week! Dramas ending--Golden time and Haeundae lovers. Both weren't bad. Golden time--wondering if they are thinking of a second season. Would be nice. ^^ Haeundae lovers was meh.... It was nice that he knew what he wanted though. haha!

Jdorama edinding:

Beginners---still cute and uplifting. Liked it.

Summer rescue---Beautiful and breath taking scenery of the moutain. Liked it also.

Vision: Still waiting for last episode. So far so good but I'm hoping for a great ending that makes sense. haha!

Faith--- Oh it's getting real good but such stab in the heart feeling when you know any happy moments can turn bad. arrrrrgh!

Arang---I'm still catching up but wow, the story sure is picking up the pace which is awsome!

Nice guy--- I wasn't going to watch but did and well, not bad....but don't know if I'll continue though. I just can't stand the b*tching and backstabbing. I like my melos but not like that.

SR was such a nice watch. I liked the growth of the characters, even the side ones. They each had a story to tell and are connected somewhat in some way. In the end, I was like, aaahhh, it ended too soon.

Vision--I liked each stories that seem to all end with her but I haven't been able to figure out how and why and what's the deal with her. I hope that the last ep will go into that little detail so that we have a closure of how that will be solved. I would hate to see the good guys die in the last ep but anything is still possible.

Hmm... it's too bad they didn't go into the mother a little bit more. I know she got her power from her mother who see's ghost. I wonder if her mother will show up last ep? Can't wait for the ending since the cop who liked her has enter into the computer game that makes everyone crazy---which means: he'll have to kill to be with her? How does pyscho killer know who's playing the game?

0

I know, but in his case it should have any effect since he's already with her. We know drama logic requires suspension of disbelief. So we just need to wait for the subs and see what happens

0

OMG! so I just finished watching Vision and it's good but it didn't really answer some questions that still bugs me.

Spoiler!

So he played the game to find her but he was able to overcome the urge to kill for Christina. Is it because Rena saw the future of him trying to kill the dude and stopped him time before becoming a murderer? If that's the case, I suppose it's understandable why he was able to stop since he knew her already.
But at the end, he had his eyes wide open when he hugged her like he was still under the negative influence of having to kill 3 people to be with her. Makes you wonder if he did kill 3 people before walking into the room. hahha! Man, kinda creepy.

Overall, it wasn't a bad watch. I wished it had gone out with a bang wrapping up loose ends instead of how it ended. It seemed unfinished to me. Wonder if they are thinking of a second season? Open ending isn't bad but they have to do it right otherwise it just feels...incomplete. :p

Just finished with the lastest ep of ARang!

spoiler!

Omg! He meet is mother aka demon stealer in her body. Yikes! Can't wait til next week! hehe ^^

Oh and third hospital is pretty good too. Like it that the brothers are so different as night and day--one intense and serious while the other seen to enjoy life and having fun while at it.

TTBY: two more eps to go! Can't say enough but I love the fluff in this drama. I like all the acting...awkward some parts but oooh so cute and pretty. ^^

Yaye it's Friday!

http://www.allkpop.com/2012/09/reply-1997s-seo-in-guk-and-a-pinks-eunji-look-like-a-cute-couple-in-hanboks-for-chuseok for those of you who want to see more 1997 cuteness. :)

I'm watching Nice Guy, To the beautiful you and Faith now, while reading Arang recaps.

To the beautiful you is kinda driving me crazy with my love-hate relationship with it. The cute parts are GREAT, but the heroine is just...ugh. It really requires a HUUUGE suspension of belief to accept that Jae Hee still doesn't know Taejoon knows she's a girl.

But the ending of ep 14, where Eun Gyul finds out she's a girl? FANTASTIC. <3

OH btw, any good recommendations for movies to watch?

This is a little off topic, but it's a friday night here, and sadly, I'm stuck at home.. So I was thinking of having a movie night! With me, myself, and Lemon!

I've got drinks and snacks, just searching for some good movies to watch. I think i've watched all the mainstream romcoms + recent blockbusters + famous korean movies (eg. Sunny, Intro to architecture, my sassy girl, and probably 20 others)

Any movies you feel are interesting, underrated, or simply your favourite?

P.S. my current favourite is Jurassic Park! :D

Hi Lemon!

I like doing a movie night when I'm alone too! Did you watch the kmovie Chilling Romance? I liked it very much and it has Lee Min Ki in it! It can be a little scary because it deals with ghost depending on what you are used to, but I thought it was more funny than scary!

Jurassic Park always stays a classic!

No, I haven't watched it! I was a little hesitant since it deals with ghosts and all, but since you recommended it, I'll try it. :) Thanks!

And omg Fish Called Wanda? As in the movie? HAHA cool 'name'.

Haha, yes! Thanks! Nice you caught on! ;) I was thinking about what name to use and this popped up! Not the best movie in the world, but it's damn funny! Maybe you can (re-?)watch it for your movie night!

You're welcome, hope you'll like it! And the ghosty stuff is not horror-like. There are some spooky moments, but nothing like The Ring or Exorcist.

0

Chilling Romance was awesomesauce! I highly recco it too.

Another funny one is the Thai film "Hello Stranger". The plot is two Thai's find themselves in Korea; she is touring all the KDrama sights (so you get a glimpse of the Winter Sonata park, and the Coffee Prince shop!). He went on a tour to get away from a broken relationship and ends up missing the bus, so they hang with each other as the attraction grows. Really cute film, and the Thai language is interesting to listen to.

Another cutesy K-movie is "Detective K- Search For the Virtuous Widow", which has a bumbling detective and his faithful sidekick set in Joseon.

Happy watching!

'Hello stranger' sounds very good! Although I wasn't the one asking for recommendations, I thank thee! If I ever find myself in Korea travelling to all the dramasights is one thing I'll certainly do! Never watched a Thai film before, but for everything there's a first!

0

Wow! Hello stranger looks super cute to watch + it'll be like I'm sightseeing in Korea! It's a bit sad that I'm so excited, lol.

(Thats what happens when you have nothing to do on a Friday night.)

My Rainy Days as in the japanese movie about the high school prostitute and the professor? I really enjoyed that movie! And of course Ajusshi/The man from nowhere.

Sensitive couple seems cute. I'll put that on my list. :D

No serious shows tonight, and horror is a definitely no-no for me, so no Hansel and Gretel! >:)

Hi! How are you?

I'm having a bit of a cold, my radiator won't work and it's raining outside. So it's sounds like a little Panda could be exactly what I needed. Can't withstand bromance in combination with said cuteness and family and all the good things you mentioned! I'm very tempted to start it right away...

0

Not as bright as brilliant but not as dim as depressed. So-so.

Ah! all those things that will make you miss home even more. : ) Still that is what Kdramas are for, hehe.

I would recommend it because at its heart it is about protecting yourself from the cold harshness of the world through forming a family from the anyone and everyone who would be your friend. It's about always looking out for the best in people despite mistakes and regardless of who gets who, it is about staying close anyway.

0

Aww, it sounds right up my alley! Makeshift families always give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. You described it very beautifully!

Yes, it makes me miss home even more indeed. Luckily, I'm watching enough dramas to cope with it :) And also, I'm going home today to spend the weekend at home. Yay!

That's a poetic way to describe that so-so feeling, wishing you well.

0

Yay indeed!

I initially began watching it because of its name and upon a whim but it held my attention from the first episode and gradually I found myself invested. It has such a good attitude and tone; reminding us that we just get past ourselves and grab hold onto happiness. As Novala Takemoto says, 'it takes courage to hold onto happiness.'

0

The name also caught my attention, it sounds really cute. Sometimes the dramas you just start watching without thinking, can turn out to be your favourite. (It can also be the complete opposite of course).
What a nice quote. It's certainly true. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions or go through a difficult phase. Things don't always stay the same and to reach happiness (again) and hold on to it, takes courage.

You definitely convinced me to start watching it now! :)

0

"Sometimes you have to make hard decisions or go through a difficult phase. Things don’t always stay the same and to reach happiness (again) and hold on to it, takes courage. "

That's true, we do tend to hesitate when it comes to trying again. I think for me, I persevere because there isn't any other state I want to be in. I understand that fatigue that causes people to remain unhappy and give up but happiness is like a drug for me, I just can't find peace in any other state. As you said, it is hard but it is hard to remain unhappy too, so I guess, it is just about choosing what kind of hard you can bear with.

That quote is from a favourite book/film 'Kamikaze Girls,' which is again about forming families out of the unlikeliest of people. It addresses the question of isolation too. Something else that I would highly recommend though with a disclaimer that it is quite 'quirky,' maybe too far left field for people uninitiated to the style of detailing found in such Japanese story telling.

0

Even though it's hard to try, why wouldn't you not try if it means there is a chance for a better situation. Maybe you won't reach happiness, but when you are truly unhappy, things can only get better. And as you said, being unhappy is hard too.
I found this through my own experience. I was always very shy and that made me unhappy at times. I found it very hard to speak to people and connect with them. Whenever I had to do a presentation I was nervous days before I had to do it. Then I had enough of it. I took classes to get better at presenting and choose a study in which presenting is a important factor. It was not easy and I still don't like it, but I'm not feeling sick with nervosity anymore. I tried to speak up and made some friends. This is a little example of course, but it was a big step for me and it made me more happy then I was before.

I will definitely check out that book/film. Is Novala Takemoto not also a fashion designer, or am I mistaking him with someone else?

0

I loved reading about your experience. Heartfelt thanks for sharing because it was heartwarming. It just emphasizes the wonderful rewards of overcoming obstacles.

Nothing is little, for even the smallest of things can have important significance. I think we tend to belittle things through underestimating them and in contrast hype things up when in fact they are quite trivial. I would wholeheartedly congratulate you in your achievement. It is wonderful!

Yes, it is the same fashion designer. I don't know if that would deter you or encourage you, but I would say you shouldn't let his flamboyant style influence you either way. Sure the book/film's characters are imbued with that style BUT the substance is inspiring! Also there are some great one-liners.

0

Thanks for your kind words. They mean much to me.

I'm going to check out the movie/book regardless of the fact that he's quite the exuberant persona. Just wanted to know if my brain connected the right pieces of info;p
I always find it interesting that people who may seem superficial at the first sight because of their flamboyant appearance, do have very deep thoughts and are not the 'empty' persons you may have mistaken them for. Perfect case of judging a person before getting to know him/her.

0

I truly do wish you the best of success.

I actually didn't know of him until after I read the book. I was pleasantly surprised and though I learned not to judge a person by their appearance too, it came from a different angle in that I knew his character first and THEN tried to fit the 'persona' to it. hehe.

0

Thanks so much, Sabah!
I read in the last OT when we talked about 'home' that you said you haven't found yours yet. I wish for you that you'll find it eventually.

Almost completed downloading the first ep of Panda, so I'll probably watch it later today.
Have a nice weekend :)

0

Thank you for your kindest wishes, I am ever in need of them. I would say though, that even this wait for the sight of my home brings a joy in imagining of possibilities and conjuring expectations.

You know, this is one thing we can never replace; that first time you watch, view, witness something. You can never go back and see it again with the same anticipation of what will come next and more importantly, what feelings it will stir within you. It's a wonderful thing, that first time you meet something special.

Review for this week:
- Still watching Arang and Faith: FF a lot.
- 5 Fingers and May Queen: FF also, to see my men and that's fine with me. Stories are really not that impressive (been there, done that).
- Vampire Prosecutor 2: Love the episode of that week. Just the right balance of angst, humor and gravitas. Episode 4 promises to be a killer: Will he do THAT???
- Marathoned The 1000th Man: Nice little drama packed with noona killers. 50% rom-com, 50%melo. No big stars and mini serie format, which explains why it flies under the radar.
- Panda and Hedgehog: Still the cutest show ever.
- The 3rd Ward/Hospital: Love, love, love. Watch raw then subbed. Just the right mix of medical, romance, character growth and funny.
- Started Rascal Sons and I like it. First ep is subbed now for those who want to try. Come on, ratings must increase: It's an order!
- Rewatching SeGa and noticing a lot of details that escaped me the previous times (hints, cameos, pop culture inside jokes).
- Started Lovers in Paris: At episode 4 now. Like it so far. But the French spoken on it by the Korean actors... Could be improved *ear plugs*.
- Started watching We Got Married with the Kang-Yoon couple. The concept of the show leaves me a bit uncomfortable but those 2 are funny: Clash of the cultures all the way.
- Can't wait for Ohlala Couple and The Horse Doctor next week.

I my theory (and I hope is true) is that it's just a dream. It has to be, IT BETTER BE. But there is nothing we can do about it. Unless we pull one like Shi-won's mom (AM1997) and harass the writer until he/she changes the story

Hehe. Still seriously, let's do it.

I am just NOT ready for that! It's too sudden, and there was so much more to discover, develop between them before anything so dramatic happened. I really want it to be a dream, but failing that I am just going to trust the writers because season 1 main story arc was excellently done and its finale just rocked!

Happy Friday/Saturday (where applicable) DBers! Real Life has slapped me upsides the head with a 2x4 and left me crumpled on the ground, so I only have time for a hit-and-run today. But here's three items I'd like to share with you all:

1. Happy Chuseok to everyone who celebrates, especially to Our Most Generous Dramabeans Overlords. Hope you have a wonderful time with your families over the Holiday Weekend! 해피 추석!!

2. Because of said Holiday Special Programming, Episodes 13 and 14 of "Five Fingers" will be broadcast back-to-back on 29 September, starting at 8:40 PM KST (or 4:40 AM here on the Left Coast for ease of reference), with no episode scheduled for Sunday night. Didn't want the other live-streamers in here to be caught off-guard... and I'd better stock up on triple-strength espresso for waking up at that ungodly hour. What I won't do for My Precious... ::sigh::

3. And in the Depressing News Department, I have suffered through 7 (count them, 7!) reorganizations of various business areas at my company over the past 9.3 years. Number 8 turned out to not be so lucky, though -- I'll be packing up my desk by the end of October and moving on to greener pastures. Where, I have no idea... but I'm sure it will be greener. :)

Saying that, I gotta go. Hope you all have a great weekend! Seeyas later today!!

Hello fellow dramafans! Happy Friday!
Hope everyone is well.

So glad it's friday and I can take a break! Well not too much of a break since being a student means having little free time. I don't know how it's elsewhere, but where I live there is the common opinion that students are swimming in free time and are partying every night, but that's not how I experience it!

I'm so happy when I read that Joo Won is taking on another drama! I still miss seeing his face in a drama (thankfully there is still 1n2d, or else I don't know what I would have done). The drama in which he will be sounds like fun, so I can't wait! I'm impressed he's taking on another drama so soon after Gaksital. Since it's airing in January, I hope he can take some free time.

Liking Faith so far, seeing Lee Min Ho's face always makes me happy! I like Arang very much and I just love Vampire Prosecutor.
Almost finished watching White Christmas, and it's very good! I really wanted to marathon the whole thing, but alas, life won't always let me. But I watched 3 episodes last night before I went to sleep. Apparently it made such an impression that I dreamt about it. Can't say it was a very happy dream, but it was also kinda cool.

Out of curiosity, are there any Dutch kdramafans here? Cause the only Korean things that have reached the Netherlands are PSY's Gangnam Style and some action movies (with al lot of angry men, blood and gunshots).

Haha, so true! Imagine how weird it is that EVERYONE knows it and talks about it and listens to it on the radio (where it is everywhere) and no one knows about Korean culture or watches dramas. I started watching dramas some 2,5 years ago and there is nothing from Korea in my country and no one talks about it unless it's about history stuff and then all of a sudden there PSY, weird! It's like two worlds crash all of a sudden, my kworld and my everyday world.

Now I know what it takes to conquer the world. Invent a catchy song to be played at clubs with an accompanying dance move... Now I can start my master plan, beware!

Yes! It's just too weird. I always consider my drama watching as a world apart of my 'normal' everyday life and I don't discuss it with anyone in real life, and then it's just so weird (I keep repeating weird, but I can't think of a better fitting word ;p) if something Korean penetrates into that everyday life!

0

You don't talk about it in RL?? I am a little evangelical!! EVERYBODY gets to hear about it, like it or not.. I work in operation theatre and have taken to occasionally playing Korean OSTs ( bought 101 OSTs for 49.90 rm) when patients are undergoing caesareans.. I have this image of of all our Malay, Indian, Chinese boys and girls 18 years from now inexplicably drawn to all things K and all traced back to having been born to Korean OSTs!!! Hehehe

Nah, I don't. Wish I could, though. I always got weird looks when I tried, so I stopped talking about it. Sometimes I feel I'm about to burst, when a drama is so good (or bad!) that I have to talk about it. Luckily there are plenty of sites where dramas are discussed!

0

The people I work with roll their eyes and keep moving when they see / hear the stuff, but I've hooked a few friends into watching individual shows.

And I've all but tattooed BigBang on my torso talking about the New Jersey, USA concert. My peeps think I'm weird but fun, and there are worse ways to be thought of. lol

0

ya, ppl roll their eyes but i dont care :) also i am fairly active on my fb page so everyone knows about my dramas.

when i meet a colleague and they are in a bad mood, i point my index finger to their head and say " you, you .. go watch some korean dramas.. i prescribe it!!"

have been successful in getting my sis and some friends(male and female) to watch them too just by talking about them

0

Enz -

Over my workweek, I have two different colleagues that share the workload on different days. One likes jazz, the other likes old school rock.
So I have tailored the office music for each one, interspersing it with some of my favs, including KDrama / KPop, and even a little Mandopop (love me some Fahrenheit). So I try to be sneaky when it comes to music. lol

0

I'll delurk for a while to let you know that you're not the only Dutch fan! And I hear you about Gangnam Style: it's really weird. Before, people would just stare at me blankly if I told them about kdrama's, k-indie, and learning Korean, and now they're all 'oppa, oppa' :) So yeah, weird.

I randomly came across Hana Yori Dango yeaaars ago when I was still in my anime phase, watched it and liked it, but it never occurred to me that there could be other asian drama's worth watching. And then in 2010 I found out about Boys over Flowers (during a nostalgic HYD search on youtube), and that's how my addiction began ^^ How about you?

And alas, I'm the only fan here.. I've tried my best to convert my friends but to no avail. However, I have met some other kdrama fans over the past two years from other parts of the country but I haven't kept in touch with them, and I also know of some fans by hearsay (in the vein of "aaah, Korean drama's? my sister's boyfriend's aunt also likes them") so there must actually be quite a number of us ^^

Aah, Hana Yori Dango, I watched that one after I discovered jdramas a long time ago!
I stumbled upon dramas because I had an anime phase too! Well, more precise it started with mangas. Don't know if you know the manga Liar Game. Then I found out there was a 'live-action' series of that manga. I thought it would look ubercrappy (with bad costumes and weird people) and went to watch it out of curiosity. I became instantly addicted. A whole world opened up, lol. After that (some 4/5 years ago, I think) I discovered You're Beautiful and converted from jdramas to kdramas. And now I can say I'm an addicted fan. Sometimes I wonder how my live would look like if I had not decided to start reading mangas and watch the series of it...Think I'd have a lot more time to study ;p

I lived in this kdrama vacuum, because I didn't know there was this whole community thing going on. So glad I discovered al these sites (and Dramabeans in particular, of course)!
Good to know there are more dramafans in our small country. Too bad you couldn't convert anyone, there can never be enough drama-addicts! I haven't even tried to convert anyone. I get weird looks if I even begin talking about dramas, let alone get people to watch them!
We should start a Dutch drama community, lol

0

"Sometimes I wonder how my live would look like if I had not decided to start reading mangas and watch the series of it…Think I’d have a lot more time to study ;p"

I know! I'm actually trying to limit my drama-watching because I've just started my master's degree, so I really need to focus on my studies, but so many good drama's have been airing lately that watching less is kind of hard *sigh*.

But I guess most Dutch (and Belgian) people discover kdrama's through jdrama's, simply because Japanese pop culture is more known here - at least, the stories of Dutch kfans I've spoken to so far support this hypothesis, and you also fit the pattern ;)

It's nice to be able to squee with other people about your latest drama obsession, so I'm also happy there are sites like this. But I'm not giving up on my attempts to get people I know IRL to watch them.. Maybe I'll succeed one day ;P

Haha a Dutch community would be cool, but I guess we'd be the only two members since I've no idea where to find the others XD

0

Yeah, there is just too much goodness airing right now! May I ask what master you're studying?
Ha, I'm part of the pattern. But it's true, japanese culture is more well-known here. Before kdramas I didn't even think about Korea, all I knew about it was from history class. But now I'm not only obsessed with the dramas also with the culture. One day I want to learn the language, it's so beautiful. Compared with Dutch, it's so elegant.

You're on a mission ;) Hope you'll succeed one day. If you find one who'll convert, don't forget to inform him/her about the Dutch drama community ;p

0

Can't wait to get my dose of to the beautiful you and nice guy! finished my arang already lol. what would happen if i did live in Korea? too much drama too little time. i guess ill be the expert on flipping channels <3 having movie night as well here in chilly Melbourne with my new crush. if only he knows how interested i am in getting to know him than Won Bin in AhJussi :-C

Just doing a quick drop-by.

Mm in Kdrama viewing news

Love Faith: I mean Lee Min Ho, enough said for me anyways

The Thousandth Man: loving it, now if only it had more viewers/subbers

Arang: Can I so be you in my ghost life cuz you're kind of awesome.

To the Beautiful You: it's so cute/cheesy, just enough to not make you want to vomit :)

Mmmm still wanting Bridal Mask to air, I mean I just feel that it couldve stayed on for forever and I dont think anyone would have a problem with that

Sooo Answer Me 1997 part 2 anyone cuz I would so be on board with that. Please pretty pretty please.

I think that I will have to prepare my mind for Nice Guy and I don't think I'm ready to watch it yet.

H-Lovers, mmm I'll finish you some time in the future or not, it just depends on my mood, m'ok.

And Finally....

Vampire Proscutornim !!!!!! Awwwww What joy in my Life. It is now complete. Everything is alright now that you're here (DollHouse ref).

Happy OT DBers!!!
I hope you are ready to enjoy your weekend.
A friend invited me to NYC mid October 11 to the 15. And wonder if there is any OTer in the area who wants to meet Sat night.

On the drama front, this week felt a little bit empty with out
RMPW and AM1997.

Glad HL is over, it had turned into a very disappointing drama.

TTBY kind of grow on me, I still don't love it and FF a lot in it but the romance parts are fun to watch.

I'm behind with Panda, Arang, and Faith

Happy that the girl who makes the subs for sprout found some time to do eps 9 and 10. So I'll watch them later today
I have to admit I'm curious about Nice Guy, but I'm terrify of the melodrama, so I'm pretty sure I won't jump in those waters (at least for now)

I'm sure I have more things to talk about, but that's it for now

Have a question for anyone that watched Prosecutor Princess, because I just watched the first few episodes (heard it was a good drama). Does the lead girl get any better? I'm having a very very hard time rooting for her. She's just sooo selfish, she does not listen to anyone who tries to tell her the proper way to do things, she gives her "excuse" about why she doesn't think she should do things like stay overtime, eat with other co-workers, wear more appropriate clothing, etc. But then we're supposed to feel sorry for her when she's scolded or people talk about her bad work habits? I shouldn't be clapping because the bureau chief loses his temper and goes off on her and she cringes and cries, but I was. And the worst part is, she doesn't think she's at fault for anything, she thinks other people are just weird for berating her or that and bad things just happen to her (not that she caused them). And ugh, now there's something between her and that lead prosecutor? What the? Hope she gets better real soon, because even Park Shi Hoo is not enough...

hmmm, I watched this drama several months ago, I ended up liking it but didn't think it was uh-may-zing or anything. In my opinion, she does grow and get better by the end. It's funny how people can have such diff reactions to a show tho, because I actually really liked the lead prosecutor guy and thought he'd be really good for her, but yeah, I hated the way she just kinda bulldozed around justifying everything by her crush. I was just cringing from all her rather clueless orchestrating and I never felt sorry for her, more like... when it is going to get through to you?!?!.I'm trying to remember if I'd call it a "soon" change, not sure. Most of the change I think comes through in the cases she ends up working on, I dunno. But I hope you'll stick with it at least a little longer!

Required fields are marked *

Prosecutor Princess is like Legally Blonde. She becomes stronger and smarter but her actual character doesn't really change. She does grow on you and it's pretty nice show, so I hope you stick in there :D I think everyone is pretty annoyed with her at first so we understand. We're here for you. XD

I agree with everyone else...she gets better toward the end. On the other hand, I don't think she improves enough to overlook what a horrible ditz she was in the first half of the drama. The writers should have scaled back her self-absorbtion like 50 percent :b

Episode 13 of To The Beautiful You really makes me miss the original Hana Kimi (which was the first ever j/k/tdrama I watched). I forgot about it, but the part with the tarot cards reminded me of my favorite side character - Kazuma. I kinda wish that TTBY had all the crazy wackiness too... But it has Lee Hyun Woo who doesn't seem to have a bad angle, so I'm okay. (Seriously boy... your face. Stop it!)

I agree with you about missing that detailing of Hana Kimi. Although Kdramas have their own distinct style from Jdramas, AND I wouldn't want them to emulate that in any way, I much prefer Jdrama originals than the Kdrama remakes, for instance BOF. I think it is the detailing of the characters that makes even that wackiness 'believable' or rather endearing. Still, Hana Kimi will always be a favourite, and maybe that is just the problem that I have with TTBY. It isn't it, but rather me. (I sound like I am breaking up with it...)

My first drama was Chinese Paladin. Ah, though that ending broke me a little I loved it! I also realized that my own faith had so much in common with Taoism. I loved Xiao Yao and Yue Ru & Tang Yu & Ah Nu (both broke my heart again) but the biggest thing that kept me coming back was He Ge. Lovely.

My first Kdrama was My Girl and maybe because it was the first, it remains my most favourite even though I would admit it is not the best.

Hi everyone!
So I'm still watching Faith - clearly not a perfect drama in terms of directing, but I'm loving the story, the characters and the OTP. I wish they would at least get rid of the uber-crappy editor who seems way too fond of slo-motion, though. Slo-mo annoys me to no end and it really spoils some amazing scenes.
Also, damn you dramas for making me feel all mushy and sentimental. I blame Lee Min-Ho's puppy eyes and all that shadow tracing.

Hi oftheshore!

I feel the same about Faith. The directing is crappy; there was this scene in which Eun So was on a horse in slomo and her hair was flying around and it just made no sense! The fight scenes are pretty lame too, the wirework is obvious and unintentionally funny! They're flying horizontally and stuff like that... But I still like it! I mean, how can I withstand Lee Min Ho?

Oh goodness, that hat scene...I've said it before and I'll say it again, though - I don't think that writing is bad in this show, and I love me some good writing. I can even cope with bad directing if I'm invested in the story. For instance, LMH is great, but I had to drop Personal Taste after that 'game over' scene, precisely because I was annoyed by the story/writing. With a better director and a bigger budget Faith could have been uh-ma-zing. :(
And now I also have this irresistible urge to rewatch City Hunter.

I AM rewatching City Hunter! Perfect combo of everything (and lots of LMH)

The writing certainly is not bad, but the whole show could be some much better with some better directing! It's a shame... I never finished Personal Taste, either. Though I love LMH, there is a limit. I guess I'll keep watching Faith, I'm too invested now to stop. But I can't stop thinking about what could have been.

So yeah, working full time and planning a move and being in weddings is putting a SEVERE cramp in my kdrama style. Sigh. With Gaksital, Answer Me 1997, and now Haeundae Lovers (tho I still have to watch the last two eps) finished, I'm left with Faith. I did manage to find the time to add Nice Guy. Still, I end up reading the recaps just to stay current faster, and squeeze episodes in here and I'm trailing in Faith by like...a lot, lol. I'll be happy to be moved and settled and I may not make new friends quickly because I'll hole up to catch up! Lol.

Just a random curiosity. How does everyone keep track of who/where/what they are talking to/about in this thread? Once it blows up and there are subconvos within convos and it depends which "reply" you hit as to where your comment falls on the ladder... it can get confusing sometimes when reading to catch up or trying to go back and find my own post in the mix. I've taken to jotting down the number of the comment, perhaps that's all there is to it. :)

Happy OT! Gosh it's the weekend already??

Been busy with university stuff to watch any of this week's drama, namely Arang, Faith and Nice Guy. So, I'm watching them all in one go tonight!

I also started watching Story of A Man - SO GOOD. After I'm done with that, I'm gonna start on Haeundae Lovers just because of the stark difference between the darker Chae Do-woo and the lighter funnier amnesiac played by Kim Kang-woo. His acting is so impeccable that it gets quite unnerving.

Marathon-ed RMPW over last weekend. Enjoyed every bit of it. Except for a certain actress's lips. Although, it was ranked as first place for the “4th Beautiful Lips Ranking” on an Oricon poll.... What? Beats me. *shrugs*

@enz -

In my case, I have job that has periods of slowdown. That's when I do my creative writing (my two current original fictions). During my lunchtime, it's easier to stay in the building, so I eat in a conference room with a downloaded drama and watch (my current recap of 18 vs 29 occurs there).

I'm an EMT volunteering on my weekends and that's when I watch the new stuff. So it all meshes pretty well, even though it looks like I do a lot! And RL always can through a monkey wrench into the routine.

I have to confess I was little American programming except for a few shows. And I never watch anything when it is actually airing, either DVR'ng it or waiting for online streaming.

And that's how it all jigsaws together! Of course, you mileage may vary!

Not a bad thing to be stuck on! If you start that society count me as your first follower! All hail the abs!
And omg a LMH shower scene, yes please! And haha is mane of glory is shiny! I think he uses a lot of natural soaps stuff from earlier times to keep it so well maintained.
Maybe he can shower beneath a waterfall or something like that...

I started watching Padam Padam a long time ago, but never got around to finish it. It is very lovely though, but sometimes it gets kinda illogical. The cinematography is beautiful and the romance is very sweet. I liked the supernatural stuff too.

Where do I have to sign for the creation of the Society for Promotion of Broody Shower Scenes in Dramas :D :D :D

@ zgznoona and FishcalledWanda,
As a very serious society, we could provide incentives to industry professionals to produce quality shower scenes. For instance, we could introduce the Best Shower Scene awards for the best acting in, directing, editing and scripting of a shower scene. In terms of writing, we would need to evaluate whether it fits into the story, and from an editing perspective, we'd need to determine whether a sufficient amount of abs has been shown and whether there were any interfering unnecessary flashbacks etc.

I highly agree with this. As the first members of this very serious society we would hand out the awards ourselves, of course. To check if the actor in the shower scene is indeed the actor himself we will have to conduct a special comparing ceremony. Which we will conduct ourselves, of course. (In which Touching is legitimate and necessary, of course). After verifying that the abs are indeed from the same actor, we will hand out the award.

0

@ Wanda, yes, of course, we need to be absolutely objective, so close inspection and multiple rewatches of scenes will surely be involved.

0

The Tiny Towel Award - The best view / greatest amount of skin showing.

The Chisel Award - Best use of chest definition and manscaping.

The Squee Award - Showing Quintessential Use for Evocative Euphoria

Master Brooder Award - for the greatest abs hands all over..err hands down!

0

@ Shukmeister
These ideas are just plain awesome! My personal favourite is the Tiny Towel Award - reminds me of the Hand Towel. :D
I would add something on emotion - eg. The Best Portrayal of Inner Turmoil, need to think about this a bit more.
We should definitely continue in the next OT...

VERY close inspection, that is!

I hate budget/planning seasons at work. X-P
In other news, I was given 2 tickets to a Zac Efron fan conf for tomorrow. Since I'm not a fan, I gave it away. And then I found out that my niece is a big Zac Efron fan. *sigh* Better luck next time, niece. Sowee.

Happy Friday to all! And especially to those who've started school again :)

This week was a doozy. The episode 4 teaser for Vampire Prosecutor had me in FITS. *mild spoilers!* There's no way Jung In would confess her feelings, find out Tae Yeon's a vampire, and get changed herself, all in one episode, is there?

Also started a Chinese class, and my first thought was...must watch some cdramas! lol. Does anyone know a good cdrama that's available subbed? I know Bu Bu Jing Xin was supposed to be good, something like that. It's for studying, I swear! :P

IKR! It's almost all too good to be true. Jung-In? A vampire?? I read somewhere that it could be a fake-out because honestly, Jung-in in a WHITE DRESS? She's too boisterous fer that. Heh.

I watch Taiwan dramas instead of CDramas and there's one I would highly recommend to you - Gloomy Salad Days.
Don't let the title fool you because it is GOOOOD.

Right now I'm in the middle of their adaptation of Hana Kimi. And, no, it's not a coincidence that all of these have Jiro Wang in them haha.

That is awesome! I am so glad it was everything it should have been. Quite befitting! I am also glad you had a great time too. These are the moments we need to hold onto to get through the rubbish parts.

Game: Name the actors.

Came up with the game as a variation of the Japanese/Korean game. Anyone want to play with me?

Objective: Get as many points as possible with your obsession with K-dramas and K-drama actors/actresses.

Rules:
1. You can't name the same actor/actress twice in thread.
2. Try not to cheat by looking it up.
3. No, character names don't count.
4. It depends on who is faster... so be sure to use the @name to clarify who you are replying to.

Points:
1. 0 points for naming someone without a shared syllable/disqualified.
2. 1 point for naming only one shared syllable.
3. 2 Points for two shared syllables.
4. 3 points if you know same named actor and you name their birth year off the top of your head.

Let's see who wins. =P try not to cheat.

Examples:

Kim Rae Won--> Lee Min Ho (+0 points) (Disqualified)

Kim Rae Won--> Kim Suro (+1 point)

Lee Minho-->Lee Minki (+2 points)

Jung Da Bin--> Jung Da Bin (2000) (+3 points)

Start of game: Kim Jae Won

Yeah, I only knew that one because of their close friendship.

0

@Kim Yoonmi

Clarification: Does the shared syllable have to come in the same order/position as in the first name?

0

@Sabah No. But if it floats your boat and makes it more fun, why not?

0

@Kim Yoonmi

That's fine, considering that I chose 'LEE' Jin Wook, there are so many possibilities but I wanted to mix it up a little, maybe Jin min ah BUT I think it would be better to keep it in the same order.

OK, new question, how long do I have to wait before I am allowed to go again? Although, it wouldn't be as much fun or even no fun at all playing by myself...

hi folks, happy OT and happy friday!

My heart is bleeding for the 2nd lead in TTBY. I must say of the 3 versions of adaptation of the comic, I like the korean 2nd lead the most. so cute.

Just reading recaps of Arang is killing me. Am really looking forward to watching it when it completes. Hopefully the end would not disappoint.

Big Bang is in town. While I'm not a fan, I know people who are and AM1997 reminds me always of how intense those feelings can get. :)

Have a great weekend!

hi everyone! happy OT. its 6 mins into saturday here in malaysia. i have a bit of whisky lingering in my blood.

thought i would update everyone on meeting jung il woo last sunday - relax, along with 3000 others. its in the last OT too but maybe pretty late so maybe most missed it.

well, jung il woo came to malaysia 23rd sept to endorse holika holika, which is a south korean skincare and cosmetic brands. some lucky fans wwould meet him and get group pics with him and also get signed autographs of his posters. those fans were predetermined from some lucky draws way back.

however, one could still have a chance at all that if one were one of the top ten spenders btween 1030 -1230 on that day so i took a chance and spent some money and got into the area zone A which is really close to the stage. got to go up a few times to see him up close, shake his hands, have group pics with him

i have to say that in person, i think he looks even better than his pics. he is sooooo good looking and when i look at the pics he is soo tall!! i didnt realise standing next to him how tall he was. unfortunately, my vocal cords seized up in the presence of beauty and i couldnt manage saying anything - not even, jung il woo, fighting! so shameful

here are some links to the pics. he did get a warm reception from the malaysian fans, who all sang him happy birthday in korean, english and malay!!

https://www.facebook.com/#!/HolikaHolikaMY

https://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.489346127742095.122587.175899765753401&type=1

and the best bit for me was finding the group pic of me with JUng Il woo in one of the chinese newspaper on tuesday and he was looking in my direction! so in my head, i tell my self " he is totally looking at me!" ... why not right? :)

Good afternoon My Wondrous Beans!

Such a busy week it's been - but the weekend is here, and I'm getting rid of my once-loved but now very doggy couch, and so I am happy!

Let's see - new music: not sure how I landed on her, but Ali - very soulful, raspy voice. GREAT stuff. Listening to her and to GD's new stuff and to TTBY Ost a lot this week.

Watching:

TTBY - Minho crushing is my kinda Minho - the love just pours out of his eyes, doesn't it? And Eun Gyeol - that is about the sweetest boy in existence. I'm ok with the brief detour into stupid because it gave us Chest of Glory as a slave, and a potential friend to Tae Joon.

Rascal Sons - watched 1/2 of the first ep, got an email from Jomo, and suddenly remembered that I had another episode of TTBY to watch. So far, I like RS. We'll see how much of an ass they make the dad and SIG as cheaters. Don't really think of that as material for the funny, but Jung Rok managed to get me on his side in AGD so it's not UNHEARD of.

Faith - eeeeeeeeeee! Tentative hair strokes! Gentle caresses of paper screen doors! Lee Min Ho in love! Tiny King and Adorable Wife getting some! Eunachs dropping shit! Hello Bad Guy who I thought would be a prop and turned out to be something else entirely AND who happens to be yet more eye candy! Still want Audio Boy to decide he would rather be good and change camps. Am I the only one who sees hesitation and concern in his eyes? Or am I just attributing it to the wrong things?

Arang - oh my god, Lee Jun Ki. I so totally get it now. I will never unget it, in fact. I am so gotten it's like I've been gotten and then been gotten again. wow. Plus - hey, this story is exactly what I like - ghosts, mysteries, demons, more than one pretty, humor, romance, angst. And as our illustrious leadernim has said - this time, the angst is integral to the story, and not just there to make us feel bad.

Nice Guy - still really liking this story. Now that I know the same writer did ALTK, it explains why I immediately thought there were similarities, and even find the score resembles it. Since that's my #2 of all-time as far as emotional resonance goes....I won't be getting off this train.

Five Fingers - wayyyyyyy behind. Still totally on board but just - no time, and not at the point where I havetowatchorI'lldie. Maybe I can catch up this weekend. I wanna see Vampy, too.

Sprout - sigh. Still no subs (I know, LJ). and ever since I got the scoop about what happens (or doesn't) with Hayato...truthfully, not that interested.

Cher, dearest - all my very best wishes going out to you.

He can do everything. Sing, act, dance, fight, be funny. He's so good in this role. And more and more I find him attractive. I've seen pictures of him in his major flower boy days and that does nothing for me, but as Eunoh with short hair and the deep voice? And the eyes? THE EYES. Rawr.

But I could keep it PG for Minho if someone will give me Jonghyun to play with.

The studio version is good but I prefer this one. That one dude in the middle made me laugh when he sang "somebooooody"towards the end. That guy on the right looks like Chuck Norris lol.

I am guessing
1.. Fake out reach for something
2..Dream/nightmare or imagination sequence.

I don't really care as long as these visions are in my brain, and they keep them coming all series.

Hi Everyone! Happy Friday!
I haven't been active in OT for a long time and took a break from k-dramas for a long while.

Anyway, alot of stuff has happened and am newly married although it was a small civil ceremony (maybe have a bigger ceremony later).

I am currently watching Bridal Mask as I waited for it to finish and I think Joo Won is fantastic in his role. So am happy all those A-listers declined so he could have a chance to play it. I also love Park Kiwong (loved him since story of a man) but he is traumatizing and giving me whiplash. He is so good in his role.

I am also watching Arang and the Magistrate, I love how the blending mythology with the saguek story. I love the directing and love Lee JunKi and Shin Minah. And Geveral Chao as Mooyung.

I am also watching Nice Guy although I feel as if something is missing maybe storywise? But I love all the 3 leads but am particularly impressed with Park Si Yeon portrayal of Ja Hee. I think she has improved so much since the last time I saw her in 'A man's Story.' I love watching here manipulate everyone and still be able to show her vulnerability and I still don't know what her end-goal is. I think it's more than taking over the company. Not to crazy about DaeGil's and Choco's story though.

I finished watching Answer me 1997 and I loved it! Am still sad it's over.

I love the near season of Vampire Prosecutor and I absolutely love the doctor. It's such a treat to see how the actor portrays him and gives him so many nuances.

The last thing am watching is Secret Investigation Record and I love it so far.

Reading recaps for Faith (still not sure whether to watch it or if recaps is better than the actual show) and Haeundae Lovers.

Hi, everyone...happy Friday!

I have given up on May Queen, mainly due to lack of clarity on the OTP. With the expected length of this series, I suspect the heroine will be bouncing back and forth between the male leads for quite some time. And I hate that...it reminds me of Fashion King. And another similarity with Fashion King...the women in May Queen tend to be treated pretty awful by the men in their lives.

Watching - currently airing:
Faith (still pretty jazzed about both the primary and secondary couples, but I'd like to see more emphasis on the romance.

Aarang and the Magistrate. At times the plot has been too repetitive, but there's still plenty to like about it.

Haeundae Lovers. I'd be finished with this now if Viki hadn't dropped the ball on the subbing. I think Drama Fever has the final three up now, but they aren't available on the iPad yet.

Panda and Hedgehog. Ditto with the finale, Viki and the delayed subs, still stuck on the last ep. And this one isn't on Drama Fever.

I know I must have gotten really spoiled with Bridal Mask, because, darn, those eps were generally online at Viki and subbed by the evening in the US of the airing date in South Korea.

Watching - older:
Love and Marriage. The stack of fairly recent rom-coms that I haven't seen is getting smaller, but I stumbled upon this one at Drama Fever last week.

Mulling over:
Nice Guy. The memory of the aforementioned Fashion King pushes me to mistrust any drama with an anti-hero. I do want to like this one, but if the male lead is going to mutually self destruct with his former lover, I'm not sticking around to watch.

Five Fingers. How long is this one slated to last? I wondering if this is going to be another long drama, and I won't have the patience.

With Haeundae Lovers, and Panda & Hedgehog wrapped up, there's a serious dearth of current romantic comedies airing that would lighten the mood from the heavy drama in Nice Guy and Five Fingers.

On the UK and American TV side, I'm sad that Doctor Who is taking a break after this weekend, but Fringe is back tonight, and Once Upon a Time on Sunday! Hurray!

About the lack of rom-coms these days: I rant everywhere about that. And good ones are even more difficult to find.
This is when oldies are welcome to diversify your drama watching.
That said, you could try The 3rd Hospital/Ward: Very rom-com(ish) and I didn't see it coming.

Try Taiwan drama Miss Rose for your romance fix!
It is lovely, and it has Roy.

@LizJ: really confused. I watch Panda and Hedgehog live on Channel A every weekend. The filming may have wrapped but I don't believe that the other episodes (including finale) have aired as yet... I could be wrong.

Happy Friday everyone in the OT!

These past two weeks I have been marathoning Vampire Prosecutor season 1 and season 2. OMG. Another excellent kdrama. I love this show and the dynamic between the team. I am all caught up so I am wondering what episode 4 will be like. This show is creative so the promo for next week just makes me angry because if what they showed is a dream then it is a fakeout, but if it is real my head might explode.

Other than my vampire prosecutor obsession at the moment I am just reading decals to faith, HL, and AATM. I will watch them when they have ended. (hopefully)

All I have to say is that I can't believe I survived a week without Answer Me 1997. TT.TT I miss watching Yoon-Jae and Shi-won bicker. But I was sooooo happy with the ending.

Thank goodness Nice Guy came along to distract me from my 1997 withdrawal. I love the main actor! He is portraying his character so well! I really liked him in Sungkyunkwan scandal but i think this new role really pushes his acting skills :)

Just stopping over really quick on my lunch break at the shiny new job! They're keeping me busy, but I like it so far. One week down!

The funny thing is, Faith has really effected my work! I was sitting here going through papers and unconsciously avoided licking my fingers to separate the pages, LOL! I noticed it about an hour ago, and was like, 'omg, k, get it together! These papers are fine!' LOL =P

Congrats on the new job, kdramapedia! I started a new job early into my OT posting days. I miss being able to really post at lunch (I'm at a new location w/the same job, and they have DB blocked, plus we often go out for lunch on Fridays).

Are you doing something you like? Something you wanted? Is it fun? What's the industry, if you don't mind sharing? You don't have to give specifics, but I know how hard it can be to find a job, let alone something you want, so I'm curious in the best way :D

hi beanies!!
Really kicking myself because big bang tickets sold out before i bought some. oh well.
In happier news next semester for an independent class i got permission that i can create a 'fake' Korean Film Class (me as professor). super excited. it should be fun.
finished watching season 2 of god's quiz. my mom caught an episode with me and she was not impressed, she's a crime connoisseur, and she was laughing at 'some of the overacting from the supportive cast and the fakey body parts'. i really liked it, it took a few episodes but my god awesome. i'm going to show her 'our town' soon since its the same actor. i just have to convince her to watch a foreign film, if i can-score!! just like when i convinced my brotherinlaw to watch 'the man from nowhere'-and he LOVED it! its going to be his birthday present i think.
going to finish brain and history of a salaryman and then its on to big, i do i do, gakitsal, and story of a man/slingshot. when arang, faith, and nice guy finish ill watch them then. just trying to cram everything in. its a good thing im an insomniac.

Hello Beanies,

I am watching too many dramas nowadays. I seriously want to narrow down my kdramas.

Just finished Rich Man Poor Woman and Answer Me 1997 although i want to rewatch AM1997 on Viki as soon as the subs are complete.

Faith... I wish there's more romance in the storyline. Is it too much to ask? I dont really care much of the political story. QIHM is still my fave time travel drama unless Faith blow me away in the remaining episodes.

Arang... Still liking it. I feel sorry for Ju Wal, all he actually wanted is love. He got into a wrong family. I like it when they show Im Joo Eun. More Arang and Eun Oh please.

To the Beautiful You... This is an easy watch, subs are the fastest in Viki.

Haeundae Lovers... This one is quite a disappointment for me. I really dont care about the characters although i have been watching it till episode 13. Will probably read the recaps just to know the end.

Nice Guy... I am blewn away with Song Joong Ki's portrayal of Maru. I love Eun Ki as a character, i am already heartbroken for the the pain she's going to go through. After watching episode 6 and finding out Maru's motivation, i am seriously thinking to not watch anymore... This is gonna be too angsty for me. Just knowing that the writer also wrote A Love to Kill and MiSa, i just want to run a way.. Just like what Maru said to Eun Ki, run away now.

To Watch:

Shut Up Flower Boy Band
Oh La La..

I second Jeannette! SUFBB is one of my favorite dramas! I mean, what's not to love?

All of the actors are attractive and the leads act well
The plot line actually exist (something that couldn't be said about other dramas....hum......dream high 2 anyone?)
And they have awesome music

The drama really balanced the vibrant nature of youth as the characters grew up and experienced really meaningful moment, which of course they were able to get through because they were together :D

Basically, make sure this drama is at the TOP of you to-watch list because it's great!

Sung Joon and L? Together? *happy sigh*

I really thought they captured the spirit of that age well. The friendships had depth and the characters were well rounded out.

Plus they had some pretty funny moments! My favorite is when they are at noraebang and Min-suk and Min-Kyu (who is a dorm leader in TTBY!) are singing Infinite's "Be Mine" and L watches them and does this snort-laugh thing.

And finally, the soundtrack is awesome. I have watched this drama a few times and I cry and laugh and it's such a wonderful story about friendship and...I just love it.

I think I'm becoming obsessed with Nice Guy. When I got the time I'll start watching but so far the recaps are doing an awesome job of painting the scene. Thanks HeadsNo2!

Anyone here watch Runaway Cop? I thought it would be better to be honest. Kind of a letdown.

Hello Everyone!

I'm currently suffering from Drama Fatigue. After Answer Me 1997 and RMPW ended it seems my drama life did too. Any Rx? Quick Fixes?
I am ready to watch anything that isn't already on my plan-to-watch list. I currently have 167 titles. Isn't that terrible? There's no way to watch that list down if I keep this up. So I've settled on nibbling away at it by watching J-movies. the last one I watched was Into the White Night (Byukuyako). It was pretty good, I hear there's a Korean version too.
I want an autumn pick me up though... heres hoping Ohlala Spouses will do the trick and there's a J-Drama that Daito Shunsuke will be in this fall too so, yay?.

Did you say Daito Shunsuke? My ultimate bias? I am so happy to hear that, as I have "Ouran" memorized at this point and the middle-ending of "How to Date an Otaku Girl" is too sad for me to rewatch.
