Jae Hee is secretly married and a father

And no, I don’t mean that in a drama way. News has come out that Jae Hee is in fact married with a young child, according to a women’s magazine article that seems to have caught the Jae Hee camp by surprise. The article states that he is living a married life though has yet to officially register the union and also has a hidden son.
On the 23rd, Jae Hee’s agency issued a statement in response, saying that because he doesn’t wish to cause trouble for his current drama May Queen, he is addressing the story and moving on so he can focus on his work. His rep confirmed that he is in fact married, but objected to the wording that suggested he was being secretive. Yes, but what fun is it for the tabloids if he’s just being a quiet family man instead of harboring a seedy double life?
The statement asserted that Jae Hee’s relationship is honorable (and registered), and that he did not disclose the news out of consideration for his wife, who is not a celebrity. “He is taken aback that it was reported before he announced it himself, but it is a situation he could confidently reveal.” (Meaning: nothing skeevy going on here, move along folks.) He apparently felt uncomfortable at the idea of his first post-army publicity being about his personal life rather than his work, which is why he chose to keep it quiet.
I’m more surprised that he could have gone this long being a husband and father without the press getting wind of it, but I suppose he’s not really a high-profile star. And since Jae Hee is a stage name (he began acting under his real name, Lee Hyun-kyun, then switched to Jae Hee early on), perhaps he managed to fly under the radar. Aw, but you do have to respect a guy who keeps his private life private and chooses not to turn it into a headline moment. At least not intentionally.

I am happy to hear that one of my fav Korean actor is married and have a kid ;)
To me, as long as he delivers his job well ~ that is acting, I don't see any reason why he can't, outside of his job, leads a normal person life. You will not lost a fan (in me) just bcos you are married.
Kudos to him for been a good husband/dad for his family!!

With all these celebs having to call press conferences and explain their marital status i was beginning to think it was a legal requirement or something in Korea! Good on him, altho we'd be super deprived of juicy scandals if all celebs followed suit ; )

Good luck to him! I have no problem with a public person trying to have a private married life, as long as he continued to honor his marriage vows while among others who believed him to be single.

I think it's great! I hope that is goes away quickly, because he is probably extraordinarily uncomfortable with all this talk about his personal life, but the woman who is married to him is literally living a real life drama. ^^ cute.
I'm happy for them, now let's leave them alone.

I'm happy for him that he has gotten married and has a son (Congrats Jae-hee!), but a little sad for myself because he sticks so strong in my mind as Mong-ryong. Well, Han Chae Young got married like years ago anyways.
Upset that the press had to go digging like that and not even giving Jae Hee a chance to reveal it to the public.

Good for him. I respected him to have courage having a normal relationship and didn't feel obligated to inform the press.
Kudos to him too since the statement his rep and also his statement is not apologetic at all.
He stay firm at his decision and why he took that way.

Lucky for me hes not exactly my cup of tea! Even for MQ if i hadnt read in the synopsis that he breaks up with the girl i wouldn't have continued on, i much prefer Kang San as a character and the actor himself.

I think the propensity for Korean Celebrities to hide relationships has to do with the “Star Maker Machine” (to quote Joni Mitchell) not wanting to upset the fans. As you may recall, from history books of course, Beatles fans had a collective meltdown when it was revealed that John Lennon was married. There was much crying and rending of clothes. OH Dear! He is married…now he can’t marry me!
We are such silly creatures.
It is sad that these talented, beautiful people, who spend their lives entertaining us, are censured for having the basic joys of life; a partner and progeny.
I hope that MY FAVORITE ENTERTAINERS, who lead stressful hectic lives, have the sanctuary of a stable loving family and home. That they do not live like vagabonds, lacking daily continuity and fried on adrenaline because they do not have a safe place to recharge.
I do not want my joy in their work to impinge upon their quality of life.

So happy for him! I remember him several years ago in an interview stating he was quit lonely. He smiled while saying it but somehow I felt sad for him. I am so glad he has this family and is protecting them. What a heart! :o)

well I love Jae Hee he is still my oppa :) He is a very talented actor and I was so happy when he came back as lead in Colorful Women. And I really hope this does not stop him from acting in other roles. TO PRODUCERS YOU BETTER STILL GIVE ROLES TO MY JAE HEE!!!! ARA SOO! oh and for those who watch May Queen, even tough I don't like the his role chang jee I hope he stays with hae joo. :p
