Lee Seung-gi and Suzy cast in fantasy sageuk

Well you know I’m a happy camper if puppy’s back in dramaland. Lee Seung-gi (The King 2 Hearts) and Suzy (Big) have been cast in a new drama, a fantasy sageuk called Gu Family Book. That’s a rough estimate on the title, since we have no hanja to go on yet, but the Gu refers to gumiho, a mythical nine-tailed fox, almost always in mythology a woman. But this time, Seung-gi will be playing a half-gumiho / half-human. Seung-gi, isn’t going from gumiho’s boyfriend to gumiho-boy kinda retreading old ground?
It’s at least a sageuk, which means it’ll be completely different from the modern rom-com My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho. I’ll just think of him as Miho and Dae-woong’s baby. The drama will be helmed by PD Shin Woo-chul, of Secret Garden, A Gentleman’s Dignity and writer Kang Eun-kyung of Baker King, Man of Honor, Dalja’s Spring.
Suzy is still “considering the role favorably.” There’s not much information on her character yet, just that she’s up for the heroine. Seung-gi has reportedly been attached to the project from the start, and has confirmed the lead role. All we know is that he’ll be playing a half-man-half-beast, in his first historical drama to date. I… cannot picture him with a mane of glory. Does not compute. In danger of fire hazard. You know I love the boy, but sometimes hair is his enemy. Can he be a half-gumiho who hides his true identity while living as a nobleman? ‘Cause pretty topknot with hat and hanbok sounds right up his alley.
I think it’s an adorable pairing, and while Suzy does leave some emoting to be desired, she’s better with every role, and I honestly just like her in everything. I dunno… she’s just plain likable. It probably helps that she’s played some funny characters, because comedy is her stronger suit. I hope there’s some funny to be had in this new show, because that’s my favorite mode for both these actors.
The series is aiming for an early 2013 broadcast, and is currently in talks with MBC for a time slot.

I was initially a little worried about the drama - concerns over the writer and Suzy, but after reading Seunggi's message about the drama, I'm much more relieved. Since he's met and talked with the producer and writer, who incidentally is writing the script for SG, I think he'll have quite a bit of say over the plot - let's hope so! Anyway, as long as its Lee Seunggi, I'll watch and he promises lots of action scenes. Yay! I'm sure he'll be really cool!

some are disputing or attesting to Seung -Ge"s cuteness and getting really strong about their opinion let this be the tiebreaker:

Just the right size cute
and who wears clothes better than he does?
above all, he laughs at himself and that is the cutest factor of all.

Well.... I can't wait to see this drama, both of them are cute and young, it's gonna be a great couple, and I thing this is a first drama for Lee seung gi to have a younger leading actress in drama,

Suzy is my bias...n seunggi is my fav actor...bt idk about having suzy in dis drama is a good thing(in terms of her acting skill esp in historical drama bt im sure soo hyun will help her with some tips hehe)..bt i cud be wrong .... if she took da role i just hope she nailed it.. im tired of seeing her haters bashing her b.c of her lack of acting skills...coz to me she just simply amazing in wat ever she do (maybe coz she's my bias) xD

Are there no other actresses for the lead role? I don't have anything against Suzy. She was good in Dream High but Lee Seung Gi is a really good actor and it would be best to pair him with someone else although I have no idea what the roles are in this instance. Maybe the producers can do an audition for the role and maybe discover a new talent.

Can't wait for april. The casts seem promising. Seung gi has been growing alot since BL, absolutely a super hard worker. Hope suzy can prove that she is the right girl for this drama. It reminds me, all of the early critics received by seung gi in TK2H. Who knows if this drama can be suzy turning point. Seunggi now you have a chance to be a senior that a junior can lean on.

I adore both Suzy and LSG. Over here, Gu family book is a huge hit and we think Suzy's acting is really great. LSG also as his own appeal and i love him. Suzy has being gathering a sizable amount of fans over here (me included). I got interested in kdramas mainly because of Suzy, gu family book and LMH.
Oh! i almost forgot....i'm a Nigerian and i love Suzy and kdramas...sensible ones at least.
