So Ji-sub for High Cut

Some of these High Cut shoots are hit or miss, but you can never go wrong with So Ji-sub doing what he does best: smolder. He’s really someone who’s turned it into an art form, to the point that he’s kind of turned acting into modeling with movement (which I find awesome and unintentionally Zoolanderesque). Try it — pick up an old episode of something and test it out. It’ll be a fun way to spend the afternoon. *sits back with popcorn*

He certainly makes a suit — and subsequent lack thereof — look good, that’s for sure. I can’t say the concept is that inspired though, because the cover picture sets up all sorts of expectations, and then doesn’t deliver on the saucy setup. Boo. Was the model with half a dress only available for half a day?

So Ji-sub has kept rather busy this year, with the 20-episode drama Ghost and his current action thriller movie Company Man, where he plays a salaryman… at a company that contracts out killers. He decides he wants out of the biz, which upsets his boss. Methinks you don’t want to piss off higher-ups if they’re professional hitmen. Just my unsolicited advice for the day.

He also made an appearance on variety show Infinity Challenge and was surprisingly a good sport about it, since they made him look absolutely ridiculous. The magazine asked him if he’d consider another appearance, and he laughed it off, saying that his variety stint was only looked upon favorably because it was a one-time thing. Aw, too bad, because the guy who was willing to wear the funny costumes for a laugh was my favorite, even over Smolder Guy.

Company Man is in theaters now.

Back when I watched What Happened in Bali, I sortof got the moody smolder, but I think the whole look has gotten more rigid, and mellowed into indigestion (or maybe, in moments of high drama, acid reflux). And why on earth would his chest be darker than his legs and feet? Laying on the beach in pants and shoes? Poorly planned self-tanning?

I think dark chest light feet can be blamed o lighting...although poorly planned self-tanning is also a viable option.

I agree! When I watched him in Ghost I kept hoping for more than just the one expression! The rare moments where he smiled had to be my favourite though <3

Y'know, I used to think he was hot. Particularly in the dramabeans header of him with the caption 'cut your own fruit' or something.. But now, I dnt know what went wrong, but I dont see the appeal anymore. I think I've just got tired of his face.. Much like my opinion on Kim tae hee as well, where I used to think she was really pretty, and she is, but I've gotten tired of it or something..

Wow, yes, agree wholeheartedly on the SJS part!

They used to have this dreamy, smoldering pic of him on dramawiki and he was just so alluring, but then something went wrong. Me trying to watch some of his 'acting' migth've had something to do with that.

He doesn't look real any more.
He looks like a caricature of his smouldering self.

And, of course, Christopher Walken.
I'd like to see SJS on Saturday Night Live asking for more cowbell.

Ben Stiller (in a recent interview) stated the real possibility of a 'Zoolander 2' being produced.

Blue Steel vs Magnum vs The Smoulder in a to-the-death Model-Off.

One can only dream......

After watching Ghost, I fell madly in love with him. He is so hot. He looks so good even when he doesn't smile and yes, he gets better as he age. I enjoy the dama Ghost becos the storyline is interesting and full of suspense and although no romance, I still like it. Actually, KD should have more of this type of shows instead of non stop crying as in some heavy dramas. The chemistry among the leads of Ghost is wonderful.

My gosh...his dramas are so good *melting into a puddle*. I felt in love with him in MISA (Sorry I love you) and 10 years later, it hasn't changed. His most recent drama The Master's Sun is...superb :) Ahjussiiiiiii
