Apparently Kaedaejun and I are the same person when it comes to tastes in dramas. Opinions are spot on with mine.

My loves this year: Whats Up, King2Hearts (it made me go back and watch ALL of Lee Seung Gi's dramas b/c up until now, I didn't care for him- I know I am late to the party), Nice Guy, Answer Me 1997, and Arang & Satto.

With the exception of To the Beautiful You, Big and the 50% of Fashion King I could stand to watch, everything else was in the middle.

2012 Kdrama for me was all about King2Hearts...... i learned, i felt, i loved, and i connected with kdrama viewers .
K2H will be in my all time top ten list.

I recently watched GIANT ( I know I am a new kdrama fan, so I am still catching up ) - it belongs in my top ten too.

I haven't decided which ones to add in my top ten, i am still building my list.

Currently watching Drama King, and ALice in Cheongdam - i like the characters.

I am also discovering some great actors .... Kyung Min, Park Sang Min (my favorite character in Giant, he was in God of War as well. I can't say enough of the veteran actors - the older ones who I see in every drama, almost , and the child actors- they are really good.

Sorry it is off topic but it is still about kdramas :)

Thanks Kaedejun! Yay for the Ghost and Ten shoutout! I loved Ten and I have you and your recaps to thank for it! A sequel better be in the works!

Oh Haeundae Lovers! I think it would have worked better as a mini-series, but then that would have cut down on the Kim Kang Woo hotness. And you know, I can't ever hear the word, "first", now in korean without thinking about Nam-hae/Taesung.

Wild Romance was pretty addictive and I thought the suspense element to the rom-com was intriguing, though the writing was all over the place. And the ending climax scene at the pool sort of rubbed me the wrong way. Couldn't believe it was the same writer as White Christmas, Evasive Inquiry Agency, and Alone in Love. Jessica wasn't too much of an eyesore, but she had negative chemistry with Lee Dong Wook and more chemistry with Lee Si Young.

I pretty much liked most of the drama you listed and i agree with you! after reading this, im kinda glad I stopped watching Big halfway because I felt like I was going to strangle someone with Da ran's "yoon jae-ssi yoon jae-ssi yoon-jae-sii" and if I did saw her ending with him then i'd totally explode for sure... i was sooo happy to see Gong Yoo again! I watched his Finding mr. destiny movie and i loved it but i was so happy to see him in dramaland that not even the cliche body switch stopped me but man, it was disappointing...
but it wasnt all dissapointment, dramas like Whats up -sans kim ji won's annoying character-, Queen inhyun's man, VP2, TEN, King2hearts, Answer Me 1997 and Padam, Padam filled my year with rich characters, intense plots, laughs, tears, shocking moments, introduced me to lots of awesome actors like -my newest love- Jo jung seok, Im joo eun -hope they get to be the lead couple of a drama- and made me realize some of my biases -aka as Hoya- hace some hidden talents. for 2013, im eagerly waiting for the new seasons of Vampire Prosecutor 2 and TEN too :3

You've only seen Kim Kang Woo in Haeundae Lovers? I guess that means that you haven't seen Story of a Man. That drama is a terrific thriller that should be right up your alley. The whole cast, Kim Kang Woo included, did a great job. You really should watch it. :)

WHAT'S UP!! I'm actually really glad you covered that drama because it was quite unknown and underrated. I thoroughly enjoyed watching that drama. By "enjoyed" I mean the overall tone of that drama was perfect. The storytelling could have been a bit better, but the characters and their own stories made the whole drama worth it. I fell in love with all the characters... I may just go and watch that again. (And I totally agree that the OST is the hardest thing to find. I was pleasantly surprised that it was posted for this review!!)

And ANSWER ME 1997! More dramas like that please! PRETTY PLEASE?!?!

Thank you, Kaedejun, for the life lessons. Enjoyed them immensely and of course, your hard work all year long.

I especially appreciate your mention of Padam, Padam. It will remain one of the most memorable dramas for me because of how this man confronts the issues in his life, the ADORING gaze he fixed on his beloved, and the poignant limitations of his "angel".

Am also grateful for a new list of dramas to watch. If you guys in dramabeans recommend it, then I go for it. I may not always agree (not usually a fan of high school dramas) but I give it a try because you generally have good taste. I will definitely steer clear of Big, for example.

One I haven't seen mentioned at all, yet, is Golden Time. Lee Si Young and Hwang Jung-Eum were bickering interns that gradually developed a strong friendship. But, for me, maverick trauma surgeon, Dr. Choi, (played exquisitely by ubiquitous Lee Sung-Min) was the addictive draw. I had NEVER watched a drama as it aired and waited till all hours of the night for GT to be translated and subbed. Here's hoping there's a season 2.
