Teaser and stills from Hundred Year Inheritance

These stills from MBC’s upcoming weekend drama Hundred Year Inheritance look a bit serious for a show that’s supposed to be light and cheery, but there’s no denying Eugene and Lee Jung-jin make a beautiful couple.

The drama recently filmed its title sequence in Namhae-gun, pictured here. We get a glimpse of the scene in the drama’s teaser video below, which captures a little more of the fun spirit (though the tone still seems more contemplative than comical):

Even so, I’m still expecting a fair share of comedy, given the meet-cute between the leads. Eugene, dressed in a hospital gown, pleads with the stranger (Lee Jung-jin) to help her, because she’s totally sane. Hm, is she being held in an asylum against her will, then? He looks confused, but that’s nothing compared to the surprise of having her look up at him from her hospital bed, calling him “Yobo” (for husband). Hee. Is he her escape plan?

That plotline wasn’t mentioned in earlier descriptions, which just told us that this drama centers around a family running a noodle factory in which Eugene plays a divorced woman returning to the family business. I’m thinking they should REALLY play up this angle more. How could you have that card in your pocket and not bust it out?

Hundred Year Inheritance premieres on January 5.

The tone of the teaser does make me scrunch my nose, but if it plays up the comedy then I'm all in. I love both Eugene and Lee Jung-jin.

I'm really looking forward to this one. I really like Eugene and I love Lee Jung-jin since Love Story in Harvard. Please let this be cute and funny. And I like the idea of him helping her escape from being locked up. But I hope it doesn't go too far from the comical. I think we really really need a light funny drama. I have hopes that this and Flower Boy Next Door will fit that bill.

Thank You! The tone does look serious in the teaser (kind of melo a little bit), however we could be surprised at how funny and light and cheerful the drama ends up being. Let's hope. I do like Eugene and LJJ as well.

I don't know if I'm going to watch this but one thing I noticed from the premise is that it's pretty.

HA. Ikr? What a vague thing to say but it is, the surroundings, the actors, the lighting ... everything just screams pretty ^^

Whoch ofc is a good thing.

I'm hoping this will be uplifting and something fresh.

I have to be superficial for a moment and comment I really dislike this hairstyle on Lee Jun-jin, it seems to be several k-men are all going to the same drunken barber. Lee Min-ho and Lee Sun-gyun had a version of this hairstyle also.

Drunken Barber. Now there's a Kdrama I would at least try to watch the first episode of.

drunken barber.heheheheheoohohohohohehhe

just last week I saw an old kung fu movie..Drunken Master
when I read your entry I just visuallized a drunk martial artist trying to give a hair cut and if some one was crazy enough to sit in the chair, the hair would propably look just like that. enough, too funny.

I think it will be fun and cheery!! I mean, she's in an asylum when she's not supposed to be in it! and there's going to be pretend marriage! How can it not be funny? I'm hoping for it to be fun and cheery!

Hum... I don't want to give you a cold shower but the editorial line of MBC for its weekend dramas is generally a lot of makjang with a bit of funny. At least that was the case for the last ones: Feast of the Gods and May Queen.

@ Gaeina Lee
please don't even say the name. DR. JIN. the universe might think that we are asking for another show exactly like it .ouch, ouch, ouch, bite your tongue. going forward let us call this drama "HELL" and never call it by name.

I really don't care for Eugene she was never an actress I got caught up in, I always felt her acting was boring she always come across as a married actress. Now I do love me some Jung Jin ever since 9 end 2 out and damm he was hot in Fugitive B but I not that girl of 7 years ago when I watch drama just to be watching. I spend my time more wisely and stop when if the drama not good and not even giving drama a chance if I don't feel that the story-line is something I can relate too, therefore I past.

I have only watched two episodes so far, and have mixed feelings about it. On the down side, looks like it will have a lot of makjang to the max, on the up side it looks ike this drama will have the MOST EVIL mother in law ever.

Will watch it a few more episodes, but so far will only give it barely 3 stars out of 5.

This show has the MOST evil mother in law I have ever seen. I want to kill her so much. The things she did I am so stupefied by it that I can't even cuss her out.

I agree! The mother-in-law is so bad. Eugene's acting is good. I don't agree with the comment that Eugene's acting is not good. All her past and present drama is great.

Have been following this drama since its airing. Love both Eugene and Lee Jung-Jin. Am so glad to see that the story will now finally focus more on the main couple (ep 14 right now). And soooooo happy that they finally just ed LJJ's hair to one that suits him. (yes, i know I am superficial ;>)
