Hey now, ‘Rich Man, Poor Woman’ was good. Although I’ll admit that Oguri Shun carried the whole drama. The dude has chemistry with everyone and everything. If his female lead was a rock, Oguri Shun would have charmed the pants off that rock.

Pros:
-Pil-hoon telling his mom that if it was meant to be, then the girls would have waited for him while he was studying during the dates and poo-pooing fate. Next date later: Kyung-ja who stayed during the date and ended up studying during the date as well. There has been so much backlash about CKH looking older, I think it is cute that it perhaps isn’t so much her looks that got to him, but that a part of him is wondering if it isn’t fate.

-the studying date. Just adorable! Like two college students. There is just passably enough chemistry between the two leads. We won’t get much visible sexual tension and smoldering, but I think we’d get some kindred spirit sort of romance – which seems more like real life anyways. When I look at my couple friends, I don’t think “wow they want to have sex with each other”, I think “wow they will grow old very well with each other and understand each other’s quirks!”

Cons:
-Like the character interactions, but don’t care much about the characters themselves. And as I get older, I’m having less patience with characters who aren’t trying to make something of themselves by their late 20s or at least have a steady full-time job at some point between age 23 and 27/28. Most 27/28 year olds I know have steady jobs or are doing grad/med school or are making serious efforts to apply to jobs every day and going to interviews regularly.

-CKH’s hair. WHY?! It looked okay in stills but worse live action. (though strangely her face looks younger in action than in stills.)

-The main characters playing similar age characters. Why doesn’t the writer just admit that CKH is a little older. Joo Won looks a little worn, so he does pull off looking like someone older like Daniel Choi, but what’s wrong with just having the heroine be older than the hero?

-Hated Pil-hoon for drag racing on a road that is still in use by other vehicles and hated Kyung-ja for almost causing an accident with her freaking out.
