Uhm Tae-woong gets married

Finally! How freaking adorable is Uhm Tae-woong, aka Uhmforce, aka Uhmdorkable (okay I just made that up), pictured here with his bride for his wedding? He just looks so happy and excited and proud.

She’s Yoon Hye-jin, a ballerina Tae-woong met through the introduction of his noona Uhm Jung-hwa; he announced his wedding plans on a recent-ish episode of 1N2D. The wedding took place in Seoul yesterday, January 9, and was attended by a whole who’s who of drama and varietyland stars, including the whole cast of 1N2D (Ho-dong too, aw). Sung Shi-kyung sang the congratulatory song with songwriter Yoo Hee-yeol, who got roped into it agreed to the suggestion during—what else?—a guest stint on 1N2D.

I know people have been trying to marry him off practically since the day he stepped into the 1 Night 2 Days world, and his lonelyhearts bachelor persona has become something of a Thing with him. Ajummas and grandmas all over all want to hook him up with daughters and neighbors and random pretty girls they know. He cracks dumb jokes about romance and makes inanimate objects kiss. I recognize that some of that may be totally trumped up for entertainment value (because it’s so entertaining)… and yet, you see him being corny and sweet and totally romance-obsessed, and you just think it’s gotta be true: He really really really wants to be married.

So now that he is, it’s like we can all breathe a collective sigh and go home light-hearted, like we just married off our last little brother whom we’d been worried about for AGES, who’s finally met his match. In a good way.

      I totally adore the old, romantic look of the sepia. They look brighter than any colour pictures. The last one looks a bit too dramatic for a wedding picture. But it might be just me.

    Out of curiosity, are shotgun weddings acceptable in Korea now or is the Uhmforce getting a pass just because he’s so awesome?

    Not judging, just curious given that in a kdrama the same situation would call for plenty of sturm und drang and weepy mothers and family shame yadayadayada, whereas everything is puppies and sunshine for UTW and really very scandal free given that he actually did knock her up. Which I’m just not understanding given how much fuss there was over that IU photo with that SuperJunior guy or Rain and Kim Tae Hee …

      After a slew of shotgun weddings (too many to count), Korea’s probably not surprised anymore. (esp with celebrity weddings LOL)
      ehhh what can ya do? most will think they married bc of said baby in the womb, but they probably did think of marriage along the way if they went ALL THE WAY. LOL

      There are too many shotgun weddings. E.g. Well-loved Jang Dong-gun and Ko So-young, Tablo and Kang Hye-jung, Kwon Sang-woo and Son Tae-young…

      Lots of mixed reactions (read: http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.sg/2012/11/mixed-reactions-to-news-of-wedding.html) actually but some are just silly.. How is having sex dirty? Imo, I have no comments on shotgun marriages as long as the couple love each other and are happy.

        I don’t really see this wedding as “shotgun,” since he has talked about how he has wanted to marry her for a long time. Personally, I think he wanted to have a baby and so they went ahead and got pregnant since they knew they were getting married. I imagine that they planned it long before he announced it. He seems to want to be very private just like most of those guys are.

        I think maybe Jong-Min might get married next. He is so protective of his girlfriend!

      IU + Eunhyuk and Rain + Kim Tae Hee both involved idols, so I think it was a bunch of fangirls and fanboys getting their feather ruffled and general disdain for Rain who is getting in trouble for extensive vacation time from his mandatory service(?).

      I don’t mind a shot gun wedding either and I also think it’s generally none of anyone’s concern, lol (though it’s nice to hear about especially with a couple this adorable). I mean…I don’t care if you get pregnant before marrying as long as you love each other…that’s most important, right? They seem really happy, anyhow. It’s one of those things that’ll bother some more than others, lol.

      They’re both fully grown, I think they know what they are doing, haha.

    If Uhm TaeWoong was an idol, most people would be sad to see him get hitch.
    But everyone here are just so happy he’s married already. I was kinda worried that he’d remain single all his life and follow his noona’s footsteps since he dont seem to have a girlfriend based on his “lonely heart bachelor persona” in 1N2D.

      And I know it’s a rival program but now I am just waiting for Kim Jong Kook to get hitched! I’m holding my breath and praying he’ll marry someone he loves. Once he does then I’ll be a happy woman.

      Uhm Tae-Woong and Kim Jong Kook are the only two celebrity crushes that I have that I couldn’t wait for them to find “the one” and get married and live happily ever after! They are such great guys they deserve their happily ever after..One down…one more to go! Go KJK!!
