I have some hope, just a glimmer of it, from Cha Don's comment in episode 7 that indicate it's her personality that is the bigger issue for him. I do want to see her personality change.
Cha Don's personality is just a tad on the immature side, and he's a little arrogant, but he genuinely cares about other people, too.
Jae In is selfish and doesn't give a fig for anybody but herself, and that needs to change.

Totally agree with you! I can't warm up to Jae-In's character at all, even after episode 7. The writer of this drama should seriously consider what kind of messages they're transmitting through this drama.

To use brain injured and obese people as comic relief is quite despicable in my books. It's at the same level as people watching videos after videos of others getting injured and laughing.

The only reason I'm still watching is to see if the writer wakes up, because I'm intrigued with some parts of the story, and there's also the History of the Salaryman factor. But the thing is: the damage is already done.

Wishing good luck to you and your daughter! :)

I like this show, but I have had a real issue with some of the reactions to Jae In's treatment of Cha Don, esp. when they were young. Maybe it's because I actually love a brain injured child very much. She is my daughter. And I found it absolutely dispicable of Jae In to basically groom and bully a brain injured child into accepting his role as her 'slave.'
It was barely tolerable because she was also a child with issues, but that kind of behavior left uncorrected in a child turns into an exploitive adult.

And I suspect everybody who thought it was so cute, would view it totally differently if it had been a boy calling a gorgeous brain injured girl a dummy and worked at training her to call herself his slave and to give him physical affection when he demanded it.

I have an issue if that's the direction they go, but I think it's not where they are headed with this. I think it's going to turn out that her personality is a bigger problem for Cha Don.

I hope so.

I haven't started this drama yet, but the recaps are very captivating. So I have two questions, should I wait till it is all the way done to start watching? Or, should I start now and play catch up? Honest opinions please.

I agree. I also find Jae In is the most unexpected character among all, therefore interesting. Someone in Soompi says she can go anywhere and be anyone, and I agree. I feel she will be the writer's trump card. No one, even we viewers, can guess what she will do next, how she will build her relationship with other characters.

And do you all already watch the preview of 9th eps in Soompi? It's feature the abound interactions of Cha Don-Jae In. Can't wait!
