It’s official. I can’t stand Sun-mi. I was waiting to make my mind up about her but with this episode she’s proven that she’s an idiot. What kind of moron shoots off a gun in her own headquarters and then points that same gun at her partner? It’s not cute, and it’s sad that the dumbest agent on the show is a woman.

Thanks for the episode recaps. I so appreciate it and because you describe the scenes so very well, I decided to subscribe to MBC even though it doesnt have Eng subtitles. Just wanted to see Joo won act. He really is a fantastic actor and I also feel his talents are not fully showcased in this show. Maybe he chose to appear in this rom-com to give himself a break from Bridal Mask. That was heavy acting!!!! The team and actors of that show should have swept the KBS awards. I expect an award for Joo won in this year’s Baeksang ceremony!!! (just saying)

There was some references made in some reports (Chinese and Korean) where the script writer did try his best to base his stories on possible backgrounds that is currently present in NIS. But since it is South Koreas’ national intelligence agency, he didn’t have the access.
So he had to base the story by creating possible scenarios that could exist in persons that are agents but leading a “possibly normal” life in the civilian society.
Though this doesn’t explain flawed activities of the agents during operations, the whole idea of this rom com is to make it seem possible lives of people who are denied a normal society life when they are doing stuff undercover. The only thing possible these two would want is to spend a normal time together and that being denied what could be the resulting comical mishaps !

LATEST UPDATE: Possibility of a kiss scene in this week’s episodes. Either “popo” or “kiss”.

I think the pairing is odd too, but I think they did that b/c both won Popularity awards (Choi Kang Hee in 2011 for Protect the Boss, Joo Won in 2012 for Bridal Mask).
I think they thought the combo would strike high ratings.

Although it does take some getting used to, I’m still enjoying the drama. : )

Thanks for the update! I want to adore this show (Joo Won, funny start) but as most of you have pointed out, the flaws are painful. The pairing of CKH w/ Joo Won is just unbelievable. It’s not relatable, understandable or… admirable? Gil-Ro’s mom is more attractive than CKH.

Shallow? Yes. But romance seems to be a HUGE part of these K-Dramas. Ill-matched pairs feels like a waste of energy on the viewer. Forgive me, but this is on par with Moon Guen Young and Park Shi Hoo in the Alice drama. Great surrounding cast and production with a lame leading couple. Again, forgive me to all the Moon Guen Young fans.

I’m liking this drama. But I wish they would make Seo Won’s hair more attractive – somehow, some way!

One critique about the storyline: the sniper incident didn’t seem to have a purpose. So he shoots and misses on purposes to draw out the big guys … But then nothing happens. The next scene we see Gil Ro and his father safe and sound at home. Umm, what happened to the road blocks and reinforcement the NIS sent in?
