Dramabeans Meetup Update

According to our initial polls, most of y’all are up for an in-person meetup with the Dramabeans family, and by our count a whopping 610 of you said you’d really, seriously come to a meetup in the NYC area next month. We’ve locked down a date, and now we need a count in order to proceed.
When: Thursday, April 11, 2013. Tentatively 6-9 pm.
Where: A watering hole in New York City* (details TBA)
*Note that this will most likely be a 21+ event, which we know is a bummer. It’s not our preference and we tried our best to find venues without age restrictions, but for this date it’s probably our best option. We’re definitely going to make sure that future meetups will be open to all ages. (We’re looking at LA as the likeliest locale for a second meetup.)
So. You in or you out? The poll is not binding, of course, but we really do need an accurate picture of what to plan for, so please only vote yes if you really intend to make it. Thanks!
We also got an overwhelming number of responses from those of you who would love to meet up with other Beanies but live in other cities and time zones and countries, so we wanted to create a place where you could organize unofficial Dramabeans Meetups in your own region. Although a forum would have been ideal for this, we’re lacking the requisite techiness so we’ve carved out a landing page here for you to find fellow Beanies near you: Meetup landing page.
We’ve started with the regions with the biggest concentration of our readers, but feel free to request your region to be added to the list. If there are enough people who want to meet up, we’ll add pages as we go.

Out. I am in my final semester of college. Can't be flying out whenever i want. I wish you would have made you date in May/June after school. Unless they live in NYC, i don't see people really travelling out due to Midterms.

Is it bad that I was seriously considering using my saved summer holidays money to buy a ticket out to meet you all? (Ok I wouldn't have because that would be silly... but still...)
Then I read 21+ :'(
Looks like I have no choice but to not go...
But people I will be 21 and have an actually job in the future so we have to have another one ok???

Pssst. Korean Film Festival - the AFI in Silver Spring, the Angelika in Fairfax and the Freer downtown DC. Running now and through mid April, although you've missed Park Chan-wook's lecture at the premiere of Stoker, they are running all of his films this year. 8-)

That is a midweek date...which means asking off work for Thurs and Friday...Hmmm...I would stay on LI with friends...
I would have to drive from here six hours and find things alone...
Believe it or not, this would be totally worth it even with all the inconvenience, and I would be there in a heartbeat if my local drama buddy could go, but she already said no.
Sooooo....maybe with a leaning towards no.

I am sure you have good reasons for scheduling on a week night, but a lot of the bridge and tunnel crowd & real out-of-towners are much more likely to attend on a weekend. My sister who lives in Houston is dying to attend but can only do so on a weekend. You are probably competing with weddings and bar mitzvahs for available space.
