I am watching 'Last Cinderella'. It's an adult comedy about a 39 year old hairdresser Sakura who hasn't dated for 10 years. She has two girlfriends - one married, one having lots of casual sex.

Enter Rintaro, a 39 year old manager who has known Sakura for years. He calls her 'Kin' and loves to tease her.

Sakura: "I understand, you are in love with me. You've been like this since grade school. You only loved the girls who would tease you. The kind of guy who can't express his love."

Rintaro: "So there are girls who tease like that, who's make you say 'Stop it I hate you Sa-chan' that was you, right?"

They are chummy, comfortable with each other, in each other's personal space, with the kind of bickering that reminds me of Sam and Diane from Cheers.

Suddenly, I am suspicious that his transfer to her store and moving in next door to Sakura is really a coincidence. Rintaro's barkeep friend claims that he is now more mature, and I wonder if Sakura is someone Rintaro tried to get close to before but the timing was off.

Rintaro's interest in Sakura's dating life is certainly a clue. So too is the fact that Choko-san who has set her sights on Rintaro sees Sukura as a rival.

And so starts the fun as a hunky 24 year old "Prince" is thrown in to the mix and hilarity ensues.

I look forward to Sakura rediscovering her feminine side, to be beautiful and flirt and laugh and be the center of someone's attention. I want the 24 year old to fall for her, and I want Rintaro to panic and have to fight to win her. I want both of them to realize she is someone worth the effort of pursuing.

Ah, I love her already, but so want to clean her apartment and do a make over. No more granny outfits and hair lumps please!

Just saw episode 3 ... head spinning ... she is totally not responding in healthy manner to events ...

So we have Doormat, Griever, Stalker, Slut, Nympho, Cheater, Gigolo, and EvilPurpleMotherinLaw. Umm ... I might have to revise my enthusiasm for this show.

Julia -

It's my pleasure and the other's work. lol
I'm glad you are enjoying them! It's nice having a show with more than one episode of cuteness before the angst pin pops the happiness balloon.

I think all the male actors are doing a good job. I think SSK needs to work a bit on her visual range of emotion (her facial expressions sometimes belie the scene).

I'm not digging on Jae-hee's actions in this week's episodes, since she hasn't been exactly subtle in her rejection. But we'll see how it goes!

Again, thanks!

In SYFY's new show DEFIANCE, the alien race Castithians
has a rigid social structure. To speak their language, it's crucial to know whether one is speaking to a superior, an inferior or an equal in order to speak Castithan correctly (i.e. without causing offense or seeming crude).

Ah! Just like Korean language.

And japanse with the whole Kun-chan-san-sempai-sama-domo/hime and so on. even when talking to oneself you have 3 options (that I know of) Watashi-boku-ore.. And so on. I know that korean has something similar like adding "yo" and so on (don't know much but I they have something similar). Its really interesting to findout different things about different languages ;)
As a syfy series, shouldnt they be a little more creative than that? :P is the show good though?
