Chae Jung-ahn joins cast of Prime Minister and I

Chae Jung-ahn (When A Man Loves) has been added to KBS’s upcoming drama Prime Minister and I, joining leads Lee Beom-soo and Yoon-ah in the romantic comedy about a single-father prime minister who falls in love with the woman who joins their harried household to lend a helping hand.
Chae’s character is the prime minister’s university hoobae and has been his closest assistant and confidante since his assemblyman days. She’ll also offer up some romantic competition as the other leg of the love triangle… which strikes me as a little odd given how much Yoon-ah and Chae Jung-ahn look like each other. Not necessarily in facial features, but certainly in overall vibe and appearance. Seriously, Yoon-ah could play her younger sister, or maybe her younger self in a flashback scene. Well, never let it be said that the prime minister didn’t have a type.
I have some huge reservations about this show, but there are things in the setup that could make it work. Despite the obvious King and I comparison in the title, this is the show that was originally touted as a jazzed-up Sound of Music story as the young woman joins the family and steps in as the new mother. I’m also seeing some American President possibilities, with Lee Beom-soo needing to juggle his home life, romance, and political headaches all at once. Let’s hope that this is one politics-set show that fares better than this year’s other political rom-com, All About My Romance, which tanked big time in the ratings.
Prime Minister and I will follow Mi-rae’s Choice and premieres in December.

Lots of casting news today. Yoon Si Yoon and Lee Min Ho (Rooftop Prince) and while still unconfirmed officially, Ryu Jin and Jang Hee Woong might also be on board. At least a very well informed fan of Lee Beom Soo from Korea tweeted so.
There is character info out on Yoon Si Yoon's character as well. The first script reading took place today, according to many sources. So this is in full swing right now.

Yep, as 101Q says, it will be a rom-com. They call it melodrama because it has romance. And because it will probably have the family woes and maybe some political ones too.
I don't think it will be an all out comedy, but since it's family oriented, it won't be the type of melo we usually talk about abroad.

I cant wait for this drama , i hope Yoona stays with Yoon Shi Yoon at the end, but i doubt that will happen.

I kept staring at CJA's picture trying to figure out if she was Yoona or not - before actually reading the article. They look so similar!
I really don't dig Yoona working with actors much older than her, but I kinda like the premise. I'm hoping this is good, because even if Yoona isn't anywhere close to LBS's level, I kinda really like her... so fingers crossed.

"The idol star will turn into newbie reporter named Nam Da-jung, who gets into a romantic scandal with new prime minister Gwon Yul (Lee), who became a single father of three children after losing his wife. Nam gets married with Gwon only to keep his position" [Spoiler]

there are casting confirmations too for Yoon Shi Yoon as Yoon Ah's first love and Lee Min Ho (1993) as a reporter...
WHY can't the drama pairing be Yoon Ah + Yoon Shi Yoon or Yoon Ah + Lee Min Ho AND Lee Beum Soo + Chae Jung Ahn?!
and while this premise sounds interesting, at least better than the previous press release statements about the drama... this would actually make it harder to ship Yoon Ah with either Yoon Shi Yoon and Lee Min Ho simply because technically she's legally married to Lee Beum Soo... *sigh*

20 years difference. she would be her daughter. but, definitely this will be insteresting.
i want to see this drama.
LBS is a great veteran actor, Yoona is one of the Best actresses-idol and the prettiest.
of course, Ryu jin, Chae jun anh, Yoo si yoo and more good actors. this will be awesome.
i hope writers and director can be the best job whit this.
