Love love love TOP .... but the leading lady urgh..I've got similar reservations about her acting abilities. Hoping against hope that her role in this one will be likeable

Okay, let me process the whole thing:
TOP, and any movie he might star interest me and hearing that he's gonna be in another movie is a thrill and also a very hood advance his career (I also want to listen to him singing).
Shin Se Kyung... after watching her in R2B which also starred Rain and our puppy, noona killer Lee Jong Suk... mmmm... I think I agree that she, I quote you, Javabeans, "Candy robot". It's bad enough to be a Candy, even worse, Candy robot.
Geez...

She's very pretty, but so dull and lifeless on screen. I was hoping for a TOP drama.

When I TOP's name I was like YAY! And then I kept on reading and went... Meh? I liked TOP, I love how he had improved over the years and I am looking forward to get Alumni here. It's just sad that he had to be in the same movie as SSK... I just don't get that woman, I swear... She's like... Dead and deader with no expression. Her roles were all crying and blank face... I just... I really can't. I just hope she drops out and they cast someone better. None come to mind... But, I think anyone would be better than SSK.

Would've been better if they got the female lead from Sunny like Kang Sora or Min Hyo-rin. Didn't like SSK in TWDR, though from some of the comments I've read that's one of her better roles.

Unpopular opinion.......Honestly, i'll rather watch SSK acting than TOP she's not as bad as he his by a long mile and that's saying a lot....That boy is bad i have still yet to see what people see in his acting but i'm guessing it's mostly his looks other than that he sucks on ice.....

T.O.P is actually my bias. And yet, surprisingly I haven't watched anything in which he's acted yet. I was going to watch Iris at one time, but I guess I forgot? Don't get me wrong, I'm dying to see his acting and even if his acting sucks I'll probably stick around just to watch him and listen to his voice, so I'm excited I guess. :D

She remind me Park Shi Yeon pre-NamjaIyagi. She just need a role/character that really will bring out her talents.

I'm not a fan of idol actors but TOP is one of the very few I'd root for. He is seriously pursuing acting and I can see improvement with every projects.

I smiled at the mention of TOP but frowned when I saw Shin Se-Kyung's name. Sigh.

If you're going to be happy about TOP being cast in something because he's eye candy and not necessarily because of his acting skills, I think it's pretty rich to bash Shin Se Kyung for her acting. You know, in the interest of fairness and all.

I would love TOP....Shin Se Kyung on the other hand...she can't act...or rather she can but terribly - no emotion, no nuance...I don't understand the appeal to keep casting her because she doesn't really help any of her projects. Sigh....

i have a similar opinion of shin se-kyung, and i'm so glad you said it. i disliked her starting from high kick. she came off as such a downer, and then fashion king escalated my dislike to loathing. i loathed her there so much i found myself sympathizing with jang mi-hee's enemy character and rooting for her to get the best of SSK. not good, right? lol

i realize it's all rather irrational, but i just don't find this girl at all likable, onscreen or off. from her voice to her facial expressions and mannerisms... she comes off cold and snobby, without much to back it up. i've never understood why or how she gets these leading roles.

i do remember her from queen seon-duk, when she played one of the younger versions of mi-shil i think? i think that was the first time i'd seen her, and i remember being impressed by her acting and her prettiness. perhaps she might be better suited for sageuks?

Yeah I'm not the biggest fan of Shin Se-Kyung BUT I do want to say that she had some pretty endearing moments in High Kick Through the Roof. For most of the series she was naive and kind to the point where you would get bored. But then an episode would come out where she would be HILARIOUS. I think people would like her better if she did comedies because she can actually be really funny. Unfortunately, there are only a few episodes of High Kick where her character is written doing funny things.

Shin Se-kyung invokes the same reaction from me. I've watched her in some variety shows, and it definitely not the acting for me. It's her that is annoying, but I guess being a mediocre actress doesn't help.

Shin Se-kyung must have relatives in the business and that must be how she's getting these roles because she can't act for BEANS!! She's the first actor I really can't watch because of the bad acting. Most of the time, I just ignore comments that rag on bad acting but she is so bad it can't go unnoticed.
This will be one I will stay away from with a 10 ft. pole.

What's gotten into her? She was better in her earlier career. Even when she first appeared in RM she was this enthusiastic ball of fun (the eps she did with Cha Tae Hyun). She was hilariously full on concentrating and did the mission wholeheartedly that the others jokingly cut to highlight it to the camera. And then ff a few years later, she came to RM again but now she's this demure, annoyingly passive guest I always hate when RM feature one. And her on-screen persona from what I've heard also got progressively worse. Wonder if something happened to her...

Supper happy for TOP but I guess this means he'll go on another acting hiatus? Don't be gone for too long, I miss you already lol
