Kim Yoo-bin and Noh Min-woo join God’s Gift–14 Days

Well who wouldn’t time-travel to rescue that adorable little girl? Lee Bo-young finally has a daughter to save in SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama God’s Gift–14 Days. Nine-year-old Kim Yoo-bin has signed on to play the daughter in distress at the center of the drama, which is already old hat for the child actress (Lee Dong-wook went on the run to save her in Mandate of Heaven just last year). The drama is also courting Noh Min-woo (Full House Take 2), though he isn’t a lock yet. He’s up for the role that idol actor Lee Ki-kwang (Twenty Years Old) had to drop because of scheduling conflicts.

The time-slip drama stars Lee Bo-young as a mother who gets the chance to go back in time after her daughter’s death, and has to race to save her in the two weeks that she’s given. Jo Seung-woo (Horse Healer) plays the private investigator who helps her, and Kim Tae-woo (That Winter, The Wind Blows) is her husband and Kim Yoo-bin’s father. The daughter is a bit of an outsider at school, described as quirky and cute. She doesn’t get good grades, but is warm and kind despite the fact that the other kids leave her out and call her the weird kid. She’ll have one friend in Baro (Answer Me 1994), a developmentally challenged boy in her class.

Noh Min-woo is considering a role as Kim Yoo-bin’s favorite idol, a leader of a rock band. The character’s name is Snake, and he came to music after a long period of depression following his hyung’s suicide. He chose to fulfill his brother’s lifelong dream in his place and eventually succeeded as a musician. I wonder what a young girl’s favorite idol band has anything to do with her kidnapping and murder, but for now everybody but Mom is a suspect.

God’s Gift–14 Days follows Warm Words, but there are mixed reports about its premiere date, which isn’t a huge surprise because it doesn’t seem far enough along to premiere next week. The reports range from “sometime in February” to “sometime in March,” so I guess we’re flying by the seat of our pants. What’s new, dramaland?

It makes sense if he is developmentally challenged and has the mind of a child.

No, it doesn't. There are classes for adults with the mental age of 9 year olds. And there's a good reason for that: adults are still adults physically, if not mentally. So, it's not safe to have them in a children's class.

Anyway, the point of this drama seems to be to the "oh, aren't they cute?" endgame, where a cutie-pie little girl has as many camera shots as possible with a handsome young man. Throw in a BIG lollipop, and we won't keep our eyes off.

Actually, it's different in Korea (according to a few of my friends there). They don't really have the same types of institutions for mentally disabled people or any really well developed programs like special education. So it would make sense to have an older child like Baro's character in a regular school.

That aside, I'm totally on board with this casting! It will probably have a lot of cliches, but I'm totally on board if it gives us a cute ending haha

No, they go to special institutions, simply b/c their minds don't grow like normal children

I wonder if Noh Min Woo's hyung was Lee Bo Young's first love and she broke his heart and married her husband, leading the hyung to commit suicide so Noh Min Woo killed her daughter in revenge... Eep! I'm scaring myself! I guess it's Blade and Petal flashbacks?

Please don't go there, show....

Wow! I hope this show does dark. With the onslaught of rom-coms I've been consuming (gladly) from SBS, a good dark melodrama is what I need.

His character was pretty inept in Blade and Petal, so don't worry about it if he's playing someone similar here.

well it wouldn't make sense for the mom go travel back in time just to go save her daughter is she's the one that killed her right?

Well let's put out the reasons why someone would go back in time to save someone... for instance if they regretted it and want to fix it. She might have accidentally caused her daughters death, or have some hand in kidnapping and or killing her daughter. I'd say let the writer go wild!

NMW looks great in this pic. i hope he's put some meat on his bones 'cause he looks so much better when he's heavier. I'm rewatching Pasta on a local tv station where I live and he looks enticing! His skinniness in Full House 2 was disconcerting.

It's definitely No Min Woo in Pasta, but he's a lot lot thinner nowadays, and yes he resembles Kim Jae Wook sometimes, but far better acting KJW? You should watch NMW's acting range in Midas, MGiAGumiho, Full House Take 2, and Sword & Flower. I think the boy can act, well, he won't get the oscar or anything, but he can do emo, slapstick funny, dying, etc, and pretty well, I say.

KIM YOO BIN! That cutie. The first time I saw her was in Mandate of Heaven. She was so adorable.

Noh Min Woo could fit the role of an idol rocker well. I just hope he looks a bit more manly for the part. He's been looking real skinny lately. I liked his look in My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho.

I was ready for this show to premiere this week! Argh..

NMW as an idol rocker? Its like him acting as himself, you know, as Icon, his current stage name. Could he be the bad guy in this drama? If yes, I'm getting flashes of Namsaeng (Sword & Flower) all over again, but in a rocker hairdo & outfit, yikes...but I hope he's doing the OSTs of this drama or one of them, looking forward for that! I'm a big fan of his songs!

First off, I love this little girl. She's just so adorable. She was amazing in Mandate of Heaven, and I know she'll be amazing here, too.

Second, Lee Ki-kwang dropped out?! What? What?! WHAT?! I was looking forward to seeing him in this! But if Noh Min-woo is taking his place, then I'm okay with it. He's great too, if not better than Ki-kwang. I'm interested in knowing how his character, Snake, ties into the little girl's death. Maybe it has something to do with his own brother's "suicide". I put that in quotes, because I won't be convinced it was a suicide until I see the show. I hope it premiers soon, because I can't wait!

Interesting how you say that everybody but mom is a suspect. For me I say that even Mom is a suspect. Now call me weird or perhaps insensitive but I have to go with a saying that is quite popular in America : Innocent Until Proven Guilty. The show hasn't even started and you think that the Mom can actually be innocent.

I know you say but why and how would the mother kidnap her own daughter. Isn't she the good gal who wants to save her daughter by going in time and prevent the kidnapping.
True but you must ask yourself what is the best way to do that. She certainly can't just go and meet her past self and tell her that. Remember how that did wonders for Mirae. Plus time is of the essence if she wants to save the daughter. So the best way to go about it is to take your little daughter for a vacation without informing yourself for the time period that the kidnapping event took place in. Naturally since Future Mom took her daughter without informing Present Mom she may think that her daughter has been kidnapped. Now both are trying to protect their daughter in their own way without actually realizing it. Thus something will go wrong in a rescue attempt and the daughter will hopefully die. Present Mom not knowing that she was responsible (sort of) so when the opportunity will arise in her Future she will go and take it to come back into the past to save her daughter. Thus the cycle continues. :(

Sorry don't take me to seriously for some weird reason I have been reading and watching to much Sci-Fi lately and may be a bit heavily influenced by it. Also didn't help that I watched HP 3 recently at a relatives place and the kids over there were watching it. :)

I most probably may be wrong in this case as well. Still lets see what happens when it happens. Take care and I hope to hear your thoughts regarding this matter as well. :)

I loved Kim Yoo-bin in both Hooray for Love (so freakin' adorable with the saturi & curly hair a la her father...who married Lee Bo-young's aunt) and Mandate of Heaven (who had Song Jong-ho wrapped around her finger)...although it's unfortunate that this drama is about her death x/ Still hoping for cute moments from her though.

Noh Min-woo fits the rocker role more precisely...although I was very curious to see how Lee Ki-kwang, an idol, would carry that role. But, in my opinion...Lee Ki-kwang is the better actor--more personable, more endearing. NMW seems a bit...cardboard-ish? (don't shoot me) I only remember him from Pasta and Full House 2, and didn't really warm up to him in either.

Looking forward to this premiering soon! :)
