Jin Yi-han joins the cast of MBC’s A New Leaf

A New Leaf is collecting a pretty solid lineup of acting talent, what with Kim Myung-min (King of Dramas) headlining as a tough lawyer who undergoes a personality shift after an accident gives him amnesia, and Kim Sang-joong (The Chaser) as his lawyer mentor. Jin Yi-han (Empress Ki, Dr. Jin) is the newest addition to the cast, and he’ll be challenging our hero as a former judge who’s set to become the law firm’s next ace lawyer.
Kim Myung-min had better watch his back, with the younger upstart nipping at his heels and ready to take over his place as the favored legal hotshot at the firm. Especially in a world as cutthroat as his; in the teaser below, he starts out narrating, “Being declared not guilty doesn’t mean you’re innocent—it just means your guilt couldn’t be proven.”
I expect Jin Yi-han to be the last casting, since the drama is just over a week from its premiere. As we already know, Park Min-young has taken the leading lady role who serves as the antithesis of the hero; she comes from a third-rate law school and possesses a more idealistic outlook than the sharks in the Kim Myung-min’s world. At least they’ll be opposites until the amnesia, which changes a lot of things for everyone.
Chae Jung-ahn (Prime Minister and I) is playing Kim Myung-min’s fiancée, though it’s not a love match; she comes from a chaebol family and was paired with him through an arranged marriage. So when her fiancé wakes up with amnesia and believes that their relationship is built on love, she is surprised… but maybe not in a bad way.
Oh Jung-se (Miss Korea, Mi-rae’s Choice) plays Kim Myung-min’s law firm colleague, who has been friends with him since their childhood years. When his friend acts nicer after his memory loss, he’s the one who tells him, “The nice act doesn’t suit you.” Still, it’s good to know our hero won’t find himself totally abandoned by those in his old life, since Oh Jung-se sticks by and helps him through the aftermath of his accident.
Ahn Sun-young (Dream High, OBGYN) plays Park Min-young’s aunt and will probably add her trademark snappy humor into the part, while Kim Yoon-seo will be playing another actress, after playing one in You’re the Best, Lee Soon-shin (she was IU’s bitchy rival there), although this time she’ll be a rookie instead of a top star. Meanwhile, Kim Seo-hyung (Empress Ki, History of the Salaryman) won’t be a full cast member but she’ll have her chance to challenge Kim Myung-min, making a guest appearance as a prosecutor.
A New Leaf will be MBC’s next Wedneay-Thursday drama following Sly and Single Again.

As expected, given his outstanding performance.
Tal Tal is one of the best characters ...not to mention he's so hot you could fry eggs on the screen every time he and his ponytail show up. :D
So glad we can enjoy more of Jin Yi Han soon!

Yeah, that's the first thing that crossed my mind too. I wonder if Jin Yi Han will also be Kim Myung Min's rival in love. It would be odd seeing him trying to chase after Park Min Young after playing her brother in Dr. Jin.

Omo Jin Yi-han!!!! Like I needed more reasons to watch this show. He, Ji Chang-wook and Baek Jin-hee's Tanashiri were the only reasons I watched 12 episodes of Empress Ki. After seeing him as the douchebag ex-husband in Hooray for Love, I need something to make me forget all about that. I hope He's not too against Ajhussi's character.

I know what you mean! I checked out Empress Ki for Ha Ji Won and Joo Jin Mo but ended up falling in love with Jin Yi-Han and Ji Chang-Wook instead.
I have been avoiding Empress Ki since around ep 40, but I've recently checked out Jin Yi-Han's "Conspiracy in the Court" from 2007 and it was amazing! Watch it and you'll love him even more.

Have to say, I love the visuals of this and the previous teasers; sleek and stylish. Hopefully the directing and writing (no worries about the acting) more than match the visuals and I'll be sold. I like JYH's acting even though I think he looks too young to play a judge. KMM can make dressing for work and walking in the rain so uber cool, what a man :)

There are only 5 episodes left, so I think even if Tal Tal gets killed it couldn't be called early. Wait why do you think he'll get killed? Now I'm worried.

This show starts next week and EK ends in 2 weeks. So, if his character is featured in the early episodes of A New Leaf, he might get killed off in EK if he needs to start filming for A New Leaf immediately. Such is the craziness of the live shoot and writing things on the fly. Idk.
He could pull double duty in both shows and film them simultaneously (lots of supporting actors do this), or his character may come into A New Leaf later so I wouldn't worry :').

deabak, with the teaser already out i am assuming a new leaf has started filming and although there are only 4/5 episodes left on empress ki idt filming has finished completely . means jin yi han is doing 2 things at one time!

As if I wasn't already excited for this because of KMM and KSJ...now they added my fave Tal-Tal!!! ;P I'm really liking JYH in EK, so it's great to see him on another drama so soon -- with some heavy-hitters, no less.
I like the casting pretty much all around. A bit iffy about KYS (or maybe because of her role in YTBLSS)...but I like OJS as buddy sidekick again--he was so likeable in IMY.

I notice JIN YI HAN's acting ability in the drama EMPRESS KI, he's quite an amazing actor, has potential and we think he gonna climb mountains in this profession, good luck and keep up the good work!

Other than the SN/Wang Yoo pairing in EK, I'm starting to root for SN/Tal Tal (brainy couple). Plse don't kill off TT just for Jin Yi Han's new drama.

Oh Yes! SN and Tal tal might not have a lot of screen time together but when they do it sort of Magic for me. I like their chemistry. No words needed, they talked with their eyes. :)

Tal Tal!!! After seeing him smile because of SN in Empress Ki, he pretty much destroyed my bias list and made ma an avid fan of TalNyang. Hope he doesn't yet in EK. ><
I wasn't going to watch this drama despite the amazing actors (law-based dramas just don't interest me unless you add a mind-reading noona killer and Jjang-byun) but now I'm rethinking it...

A bit confused... So will they be pushing for the KMM-CJA love line or KMM-PMY? Or triangle?? Cause I thought it was going to be KMM-PMY since they're the leads... (and I was already starting to ship them lololollllll) :P
But anyway, KMM~~~ :D I've been waiting for his return since the end of King of Dramas! So excited, he's freaking brilliant. :)

To be different from the norm Kdramas, it is better to have the drama with 2 leads who don't have the love relationship to each other but with people around them...HK TV series have that all the time.
