Kim Woo-bin, Junho, Kang Haneul star in coming-of-age movie

Well don’t they make a handsome trio. The cast of the new coming-of-age movie Twenty has been confirmed, and Kim Woo-bin has signed on to lead a group of three friends at the cusp of adulthood as they chase after girls, dreams, and their place in the world. Idol Lee Junho (Cold Eyes) and rising star Kang Haneul (Angel Eyes, Heirs) are co-starring as the two other besties in the group.

Kim Woo-bin stars as the girl-crazy friend — he can’t control himself when he’s around the opposite sex, and despite being a jobless guy with no idea what to do with his future, he throws all of his energy into getting girls. Junho dreams of being a manhwa artist, and agonizes between his longtime dream and the reality of being a starving artist. He works every part-time job he can find while studying to re-take the college entrance exam. Kang Haneul plays the happy-go-lucky golden boy who does everything well; he’s a college freshman while his two buddies didn’t (or couldn’t) go to school.

The movie comes from writer-director Lee Byung-heon (not the actor) who has co-writing credit on Sunny and Speed Scandal, among other films. Twenty is about the vitality of hot-blooded youth and the infinite possibilities that exist when you’re twenty, when you can love anyone, do anything, and be anything. It promises to be a cheerful, realistic story about the “shining, immature” loves and friendships of three boys as they turn twenty together. It sounds adorable, and heartfelt, and I want to watch it now.

Twenty starts filming this summer.

Yes it does! Sunny and Speedy Scandal are two of my favourite feel good films so I'm excited about this one! The pretty doesn't hurt either ;)

This sounds like it could be fun! And Junho! Such a cutie. Hopefully he's better than Taec in the acting department lmao. (is he? I didn't see Cold Eyes)

I don't think it's that hard for anyone to be better than Taec in the acting department lol

(I must confess, for one moment I misread Junho's name as Yunho, and all I could think was 'NOOOOOOO! stay away from acting!!')

Taecyeon has been doing really well in Wonderful Days aside from the first several episodes! His acting in the later episodes of him and his twins has been so on point and heartfelt! :)

LOL! he is doing better after "the first several episodes"...

I wish he and his pushy management would just give up on an acting career, but if you can't dance and you can't sing, what else is an aging idol to do? Besides CFs, of course. He's probably here to stay, just like S.M.A.P.

Hi skelly,
is S.M.A.P. the Japanese boy band? (I was just curious).

Butting in to say that SMAP is a Japanese boyband that's been around for more than 20 years. They do everything.
Sing, act in dramas and movies, etc.

Hi Star,
What do you think of the drama? Do you think it is worth giving it a try? I have just been reading the recaps so far (I think I have seen about 3 ep., the first 3).

I tread weekend dramas, but am liking Wonderful Days so far. But the upcoming segment is likely to not go down easy.
***Spoiler*** Cos they want to frame the poor, powerless female lead.

While I totally agree that those "scenes with his twins have been on point and heartfelt", I wouldn't go so far as to say that "Taecyeon has been doing really well in WD".

It seems to me that those scenes are heartfelt becos of the nature of the material itself: How can a single renegade father trying to get on the good side of his kids not be? As to their being on point, I think the kids deserve all the credit for that, esp. the precocious and smart little girl.

Not being a Taecyeon fangirl or hater, I find him bearable in this venture Perhaps there being so much good acting going on all around him has sth to do with it.

Junho did imo a really good job in Cold Eyes, he was really natural. Eventhough he had a pretty small role, but he was definitely memorable!

I love him in 'Cold Eyes'! I've only watched Taecyeon in Dream High, and I must say Junho is so much better of an actor than him. Teehee.

I am THRILLED to hear of Woobie getting more work, and with my new precious, Kang Haneul too! (seriously, that boy is SO talented, someone cast him in a drama as lead already!)

And looking at the writer's credits, I have faith this will be good.

I want this and I want it now. Films like this are the reason I bought a region free DVD player. I might not get to see the film in the theater, but I'll be ordering it the moment the DVD is released in Korea.

What a feast!

Like it for once model Kim Woo-bin, idol Junho and musical actor Kang Ha Neul slowly becoming the next K-entertainment IT actor, they have an impressive resume..

I'm more interested in Kang Ha-neul.. Aw. I think I'm more into guy that experienced in play and musical like my other favourites, Jo Seong-woo and Joo Won. I was surprised that Kang Ha-Neul was born in 1990.

If the treatment will be anything like Speedy Scandal, I'm so in. Heart-warming comedies are my poison.

Also... at last, a chance for bromance between Woobin and Haneul! I really do think Young-do was jealous of the relationship between Kim Tan and Hyo-shin sunbae and this is the perfect opportunity for me to have my fill of their inevitable cuteness together. Can't. Wait.

i think it says a lot when kang haneul is the one i am most excited for. and it seems like i'm not the only one reading the comments. that's a big feat considering kim woo bins popularity right now. but i kind of wish that kim woo bin and kang ha neul switched roles. they're both on the verge of being type cast at this rate. one the bad boy, and the other a perfectly sweet guy. had they switched their roles it would have been super interesting . i especially would have loved to see kang ha neul in a bad boy role. he deffo has the charisma and screen presence, so i think he could have done it well.

anyway, what a fabulous line-up. i haven't seen junho in anything before so i guess this is a way to finally do so!

I dunno, I don't think girl-crazy necessarily translates to bad boy--it would be fun to see Kim Woo Bin take on that role. Kang Ha Neul's character might be sweet but he definitely doesn't always play that type (he's usually a haughty character, to me). His stint in Angel Eyes seems to be his first actual sweet guy role so I don't think you have to worry about him.

let's jump into this ship together! LoL

Woobin as usual as a bod boy. but i wonder if he can pull off a decent guy character nicely one day.

Junho is not bad based on his role in Cold Eyes. for a rookie actor i can tell you he is not stiff in there unlike some idols (ehemtaecehemchangminehem)

and Kang Haneul. I just have a feeling this guy will shine sooner or later. He's kind of a busy this year securing lot of project under his belt.

Well I'm really looking forward to this since I really love Sunny.

Awesome. Kang Haneul + co-writer of Sunny and Speed Scandal + movie celebrating same sex friendship and one between guys which is rarer to be spotlighted? Sign me up! I hope it's heartwarming, funny and interesting and I can't wait to see it.

Also ugh, I would totally date a starving, wannabe manhwa artist, negl.

YAY!!! Kim Woo Bin and Kang Ha Neul!?!? SIGN ME UP!

Seeing as they were born in To The Beautiful You and The Heirs (okay maybe not in scenes together but whatever) - I WANT THERE TO BE BROMANCE! I love Kim Woo Bin's and Lee Jong Suk's bromance but seeing as the above two have been so close yet not close in shows - yeah bromance please! :P

PS. Can someone PLEASE cast KHN in a show as a lead please?! I saw him in Monstar, Heirs, Angel Heirs and I'm like WHY NOT?!

Sigh!
