Yoo Joon-sang considers My Spring Day
Actor Yoo Joon-sang (The Target, Birth Secret) is considering the lead in MBC’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama My Spring Day (or the more literal translation: Spring Day in My Life), which is currently in contention to air in September after Fated to Love You.
My Spring Day centers around a woman with a terminal illness who is acutely aware her days are numbered, until she receives a heart transplant and is able to start her life anew. Yoo Joon-sang has been commissioned to play the man who falls in love with the leading lady, who has yet to be cast. (Sohn Ye-jin was courted for it, but ultimately turned down the role.) With the way things are going in dramaland, we could guess they might cast Sung Yu-ri for another reunion, but that would probably be too familiar, too soon.
Yoo Joon-sang’s rep confirmed the actor received the proposal and is seriously considering it. I’m happy to see the actor, who already is a movie vet, steadily take on leading drama roles after he charmed as Kim Nam-joo’s husband in You Who Rolled in Unexpectedly. My Spring Day will be directed by Lee Jae-dong (I Miss You) and written by Park Ji-sook (Hero — the MBC, not OCN, version).
