Answer Me, Youths Over Flowers

Trust evil genius Na PD (Grandpas Over Flowers, 1N2D) to trick us yet again! He’d initially kidnapped a trio of musicians (and variety regulars) for his new backpacking variety program Youths Over Flowers, giving the title a tongue-in-cheek twist since Yoon Sang, Yoo Hee-yeol, and Lee Juck are all fortysomething and more appropriately ajusshis than youths.
But he’s made good on the literal version of the name by taking another trio for Part 2 of this journey, and it’s quite a score with three of the It Boys of the day: Yoo Yeon-seok, Sohn Ho-joon, and Baro, all of whom hit it big with their drama Answer Me 1994. Aw, it’s Chilbongie, Haitai, and Binggeure, back together again. Apparently they wanted to bring Jung Woo too, but Garbage Oppa was booked with film commitments and couldn’t make it. Sad.
What’s hilarious is that Na PD apparently gave interviews at the time of the first Youths Over Flowers announcement that this was it for the cast, and that he had nothing else planned, for serious, honest. All the while he must’ve been cackling evilly to himself over the surprise he’d be springing on us later—it’s what makes him a mastermind, this ability to anticipate our reactions and stay one step ahead at all times. That, and being able to keep his secrets without blurting out the surprise and ruining it ahead of time.
The ajusshi-youths were surprised with their Peru trip in late June, while the flower-boy-youths made their departure to Laos on July 7. The show will air both trips as part of its run on tvN beginning in August.

I f you noticed he did not appear in today's episode... His and Bo Ra unnie's characters might have been an extended cameo or they might make an appearance later in the drama, in any extent the trips for these shows are never more than a week, a week and a half... We'll have to see what happens later on.

Love both groups so much! This is going to be fun and fresh. Brings back memories of Na PD's brief cameo for Answer Me 1994 before he hit it big with 1N2D. Is it silly to hope that somehow, some way Jung Woo will pop up to surprise us all? Sighs, withdrawals.

Awww~~~ My 1994 feels! They are back!!! Chilbongieee!!! How I miss oppa! I was so sad and happy at the same time that he was flooded by film offers after 1994. This rare gem finally got his chance to shine. I would have forsaken anything and everything to get him back in the small screen. But still, he will be AWESOME and GREAT in anything he does. A Na PD variety show was absolutely the last thing I had expected from him.
Evil Mastermind Na PD! You really stir my heart with both feelings of love and hate. Springing such an awesome surprise on me and yet how I worry about oppa's fate with the trio with Na PD's evil gang of masterminds! Heee =)

I'm bummed out that Jung Woo couldn't join, wonder where Kim Sung Kyun is at as well BUT still we have the rest of the boys so I'm happy. It's always fun to see reunions, can't wait to see what happens :D

I kinda forgot for a moment that it's a Na PD show ... hope he's not TOO hard on the boys ... Have they done anything like this before? Do they know what to expect? I think at least Baro and Haitai were on RM before, right?

I'm more excited for the Ajusshi side because there's Yoo Hee Yeol and Lee Juk, both are hilarious people but the younger side is full of eye-candies. Great casting and I'm excited to see Na PD torturing them.

I'm excited for the Ahjussi side. Thing is, I'm around their age, and I want to see how it is. Backpacking in a new country is mentally and emotionally easiest for people in their twenties. By the time you hit late 30s and early 40s, you're more set in your ways.

Haitai is making my heart pound with that slick hairstyle and Baro- Gosh, we're the same age and I necessarily don't crush on guys my age, but Baro, Gosh he's lovely. And sexy. All three guys are making my ovaries explode. Is that even possible? But no darling, hot and lavable oppa-ya? If Jung Woo was here I'd be so fudging happy. So much... I mean, I'm a total Garbage Lover. Total. But I didn't hate CB, mind you..... Ok, gotta concentrate on my ovaries...

Meh, I'm not excited for this one. The fun of the other series was their "fish out of water" quality.

I think this installment will be sort of like 1N2D where he can pit them against each other and fight for their meals or a place to stay, and pretty sure conditions will be way more harsh than it was compared to the Grandpas and Noonas. I have to admit I'm way more excited seeing these 3 as I am a huge AM 1994 fan, but I want to temper that a bit just in case this one didn't live up to the hype. But with Na PD you just never know what he's up to!

Ooh...wah....seeing the three of them together is amazing! I liked Answer 1994 not so much for the romance because i was rooting for chilbongie. I liked it more for the friendship, especially between Ho Joon and Ara's character =)
