Song Seung-heon up for rom-com opposite Uhm Jung-hwa

Well this is good news — Song Seung-heon (When a Man Loves) is considering a return to romantic comedy, which is frankly where I think he belongs. Seriously, wouldn’t you pay someone to erase his tortured-gangster and time-traveling-doctor roles from your brain and just replace them with more scenes from My Princess? Anyhoo, he’s considering the romantic comedy movie Wonderful Nightmare for his next project, opposite Uhm Jung-hwa (Witch’s Romance) who’s up to headline.
The movie stars Uhm Jung-hwa as a high-powered lawyer who dies accidentally by a mistake of the heavens. She’s given a second chance to get back to her life, but before she can, she has to live a completely different version of her life like a sort of cosmic test. Before dying, she’s a workaholic who knows nothing but her own ambition; in her second life, she wakes up a wife and a mother, and suddenly has to navigate a brave new world as a housewife. If he signs on, Song Seung-heon will play the husband she suddenly gains overnight.
The movie will be written and directed by Kang Hyo-jin, of Six-Shooter Bandits. I actually think Song Seung-heon and Uhm Jung-hwa will make a great onscreen couple, and the sillier they are together, the better it’ll be. I can see them being cute while bickering and vying for alpha status… which of course she’ll win, because she’s Uhm Jung-hwa.
Once it finalizes its cast, Wonderful Nightmare will start filming this winter for a 2015 release.

Hmm... if we're going for the laughs, I think it'd be great if he's that kind of hubby who's used to being followed.
"Do this, wifey! Do that, wifey! Because I said so!" and always used to having a meek wife who stays at home and never argues with him.
Then he wakes up one day to find his "wife" replaced by workaholic, Superwoman Uhm Jung Hwa. LOL Can you imagine it?

If anyone should replace Oh Ji Ho to be paired with UJH, it should be Song Seung Hun. I love Mr. THT but despite thinking that he's improving by folds in When a Man Falls in Love in I totally agree that he's adorable in romcom.
If I'm UJH I won't be complaining waking up one morning with this perfection lying beside me.

Well, Uhm Jung-hwa will more than compensate for any of his acting deficiencies, he s tolerable in romcoms but she, she is glorious and fantastic.

You know, this guy has never been my type and since hes not the most inspired actor, I can't say I'm particularly excited for this BUT I could see a pairing with Uhm Jung-hwa actually being really cute so I might check it out...

SSH is seriously SO. HOT. in that picture. It's distracting!
Anyway, I liked him a lot in My Princess. Him and KTH were adorkable together so I think he'll manage as best as his limited abilities allow him to. I'm not really an UJH fan, but the story is so silly, I think it'll be cute.

SSH was more than passable in MP - granted, he played the "straight" man to KTH's more comedic character (and KTH also had all the really emotional scenes which she did really well), but he seems well suited for those kind of roles.

Hmmm...wouldn't be my first choise but no onw wlse ccomes to mine and when you're hot, you're hot so...besides maybe she'll rub off on him? And I agree he was much better in My Princess than anything else (though he was still hilarious otherwise just unintentionally so). There are defintely worse guys to suddenly wake up married to. I do wonder what kind of hubby he'll be. Doting beta male? Shifty two-timer? OH OH...wait...I was gonna say Life with Father but he's no William Powell plus it wouldn't fit in a modern movie and it wouldn't jell so well with the body-swap. Well it'll be interesting either way. I hope they give the kids something other to do than cry because mom is acting so strange. Too much crying children in dramaland.

Indeed, it's Wonderful Nightmare to have him as husband - six-packs, athletic (!I'm thinking what you are thinking!), good looks, tall, it's actually too much for someone having a second chance in life!!

It's The Family Man.
But Wonderful Nightmare reminds me the most of Goldie Hawn's movie Overboard where she has amnesia and Kurt Russell's character makes her believe she is his wife and mother of his children.

There is a LOT of potential for good smooching in this movie (call me shallow). We know hand towel is not that great of an actor, but he can be cute/funny and he gives great kisses. We all know that Uhm Jung-Hwa is a queen of comedy and she can sizzle with the best of them--no stiff as aboard with eyes wide open jutting out for her. Just watch one scene of Witch's Romance. SSH would be lucky to do this; see what she did with Daniel Henney in Seducing Mr. Perfect.

I seem to be going though a kdrama dry spell at the moment... Can't seem to get my teeth into anything like I use to. But I think I can totally get behind this. Please let this happen *fingers crossed *.
(Now all we need is Jang Hyuk and Kim Sun Ah in a rom-com together and I'm all set for 2015.)

Omg I need a drama with Kim Sun Ah too! And Jang Hyuk is an interesting choice! I'd be on board with that...
Considering all the reunions we've been getting in dramaland lately, I was sincerely hoping if we could get one with Kim Sun Ah & Hyun Bin. How amazing would that be? I need to get my fix after My Name is Kim Sam Soon haha... If this ever does happen, I'll be on the moon <3
Side note: Kim Sun Ah and Rain (Bi) make an awesome couple too--if anyone's seen their chemistry while the making of their Tango performance for Rain's concert, u'll know what I mean ;) Unfortunately, he's filming a drama already....But, if he's ever up to do another one after, then I vouch for KSA with him :D

Ah yes... Kim Sun Ah and Hyun Bin. Awesome. She has such chemistry with her co stars. I can easily/ happily watch her again with Cha Seung won or Lee Dong wook or Gong Yoo. Not much chemistry with Lee Jang-woo though in I Do, I Do.
I think she'll be great with Song Seung-heon too. She also gives off the alpha female vibe like Uhm Jung-hwa, but I think KSA has a wider acting range.

I agree. Autumn in my heart was my first Korean Drama a year or so ago. I thought he was one of the best looking men I have ever seen of any race or culture. Remember the scene in which he has on a tuxedo and has planned a wedding for his sister/lover. He was truly beautiful.

I’m a grad school student doing the initial stage of what will be a research paper on the information-seeking behavior of the foreign drama community, particularly East Asian dramas (Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, etc)
Could I get a few of you to give me some brief statements on
1. How you got into dramas
2. Where you get your information (besides here ;) ),
3. What information you look for (Actor gossip? Release dates? Filming photos? Reviews? Language learning help (to not need subs, or to help sub etc)? Where to download/buy subbed versions?
4. How the language barrier (if you have one) affects your experience searching for information

Boy...I find myself disagreeing with you guys. I really like this handsome man as a gangster. I loved East of Eden!! He is so sexy with that hair down in his eyes. He is great in Romantic Comedy too. Loving watching My Princess right now. I think he and Lee Min Ho are both really good actors. You can see emotions play across their faces and it takes some ability to portray emotions that quickly. Guess I am in the minority here, but I would like to see more of SSH in both genres. But whatever he does he looks so much more handsome with that hair down instead of back!
