Yoon Eun-hye and Park Shi-hoo courted for romance melodrama

A new Korean-Chinese-Japanese co-production film is in the works — a romance melodrama called After Love — and offers are currently out to Yoon Eun-hye (Mi-rae’s Choice) and Park Shi-hoo (Alice in Cheongdam-dong) to costar. Both actors are considering for now, but prospects look favorable that they’ll sign on.

All that’s known about the premise is that it’s a conventional melodrama about the love and farewell between a man and a woman. Directing is Uh Il-sun of In Between and Plastic Tree, and the movie will be shot in both Korea and China. I wish we had been given a little more plot information, but I guess a breakup story is pretty much a one-liner description kind of deal.

Yoon Eun-hye’s last screen outing was the utterly forgettable My Black Minidress in 2011, but she has a role in Ha Jung-woo’s upcoming period film Chronicle of a Blood Merchant, which I’m looking forward to. I always want her to do well but she so often picks bad projects; let’s hope 2015 marks an upswing for her.

I honestly don’t know that I’m ready to see Park Shi-hoo back onscreen anytime soon — it’s been over a year since his messy scandal (he was accused of date rape in a case that settled out of court and forced him out of the limelight) and he has since made a comeback in the Chinese film Scent earlier this year, but has yet to return in a project domestically. If he does sign on, this will be his first Korean project since the thriller I Am a Murderer in 2012.

After Love plans to complete casting by the end of this month and start filming by mid-November, for a release in 2015.

This is just about your dirty minds, which labeled him as rapist from start. You complain that he did not prove his innocence, but you don’t know the principle of justice. A trial must prove that the defendant is GUILTY. If they cannot prove the guiltiness of the defendant then this is declared NOT GUILTY, because in accordance with his human rights he is implicitly considered INNOCENT until the court pronounces the definitive sentence. He wasn't even charged, but people like you sentence him guilty in every comment, which you wrote / write all over the internet. In fact, what he wronged you or someone dear you? Nothing, but you continue to throw mud on him behind your anonymity. Is it moral or correct to be such judgmental? Are you that A girl’s relatives or friends and you know her and her background so well that you are sure she is truly a real victim? Are you the defenders of morality in S Korea or at global level? Give me a break. You are just the anonymous pharisees with ill imagination who cast the first stone at him. Someday in your lives, you will reap what you sow against this artist for nothing that has to do with you personal, because what goes around comes around. Have you ever paid even a penny to watch his work or you spent money on his dramas DVDs? It was all for free isn’t it? Then what he owes you that you’re denying his right to a second chance in career? Why are you afraid? That he will be successful again without your consent?

But i still believe with the result from police investigations that indicted him for rape case.

NO, i have 6 DVD collection of his dramas...thats why i really really disappointed with him...

You didn’t understand. A judge/ a jury doesn’t prove the innocence of any defendant. The judge pronounces the defendant guilty or not guilty solely on evidences presented during the trial, that’s all. Until the judge pronounces the definitive sentence of guiltiness and establishes the legal punishment, the defendant has the right of the presumption of innocence. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, article 11, states: "Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defense." The prosecution must prove that her/him is guilty beyond reasonable doubt. If reasonable doubt remains, the defendant is to be acquitted. If the prosecution considered that they haven’t a strong case to be won in court then they try to reconcile both sides so the suitor could withdraw the charges, and the case could be closed.
@ flower, be free to believe whom you want, but have the minimal gratitude for the enjoyable time spent watching his works and let him go decent, don’t spit upon what once you admired/ liked. Throw out or give away the DVDs, set you free of disappointment, and move on. If your heart is closed to him, what's the point?

Even if he was not proved a rapist, that a famous celeb like him had sex with a woman who was not his lover/ wife was enough to be a shame. How could he remain his image in the showbiz without moral principles ?

I assume that you are a virtuous person full of principles if you reclaim the same qualities in others, otherwise it would be a big hypocrisy from you, but also you have a dirty mind too because you cannot let go the image of Park Si Hoo having sex after almost two years from then. You must forgive yourself for something ugly in your past in order to stop blame him. It said that is easier to carry on with our own guiltiness if we project it on others. Think of it!

@Daniela...

The problem is SK law system is quite different with many of other countries especially my country...even if you kill someone you can do settlement and case closed...

The prosecutor never said that PSH is innocent either, its just because the girl dropped her charge against him that make them can't continue/prosecute the case...

I want to believe that PSH is innocent especially at 1st he said that he will fight till the end, revealed the truth to public to clear his name and even countersuit the girl and won't compromise with her...but in the end he's just settled with her ( maybe his new attorney who suggested it to saved his carrier ). No official statement from his own agency and he just flew away to US for 3 months...

Is this what he refers to clears his name ??? I can't understand his minds at all...

As your suggestion i will burn my 5 DVD sets but will keep 1 set DVD because i always feel that this drama is 1 of the best Korean drama that ever made and the most important is my favorite actress was acted in it too whose most of his fans consider her as his best on-screen partner till date, they even ship him with her for the real life...i will cherish those beautiful memories from this drama and it will also remind me that an actor, PSH ever exists in my life...

But after his scandal, i can't support him again at least until now...i think my likes for him already change into big disappointment...

@ flower, the prosecutors never say about an accused that he is innocent, their job is to prove him guilty in court. The judge/the jury sentences the defendant as guilty or not guilty.

@Daniela…

But the presecutor didn’t say that case closed because of the girl had lack evidence either…they said because it seemed both PSH and the girl already had mutual agreement which I believe its settlement.

That’s why I’m very disappointed with the way PSH and his attorney ended the case thus PSH ever told that he won’t compromise with the accuser and the truth will reveal trough investigations.

Unfortunately during police investigations, the truth was sided the girl…

It will be better if the case can be judged by court so public will not have double perceptions and if PSH really innocent he can clear his name forever…

Blackmail is very serious crime, if he’s confident that the girl really did it to him why he had to gave up ??? I will more respect PSH if he can follow LBH action to fight till the end and jail the two young women who blackmail him. Even though during the trial maybe something bad that we didn’t know before will come up and hurt him.

If in the worse scenario, PSH proved GUILTY…I will accept it, give him second chance and will try my best to support him as an actor again…as long as he can be responsible with his wrong doing, regret it and re-born as a better human being.

This just my POV and I hope you can understand my feeling…

@flower, if you let him be actor on end, maybe someday, he will write his memoirs and then you will learn the true that you’re looking for.

Innocent until proven guilty of the rape. No court or judge or jury of his peers found him guilty. I can't judge a person based on heresay from here and there.

Looking forward to his next project with YEH or not

Please back track and read all the comments, including some insightful ones comparing the south korean legal system with the US ones. There has been lots of reports on this case with police releasing their statements so it is not hearsay.

Public can't leave him ALONE if he wants to still showing his face on screen. Why? because dramas/movies are made for people to watch. As simple as that. So, as long as he still wants to exist in the entertainment industry as an actor, you can never ask others to leave him alone when it comes to his casting news. That's a funny request.

You are crazy, daniela. I laughed my ass off reading your nonsense accusation. His having sex (not raping) with her is mentioned here as A FACt that people will never forget after 2 or 10 yrs, though they can forgive. Keep defending him that he is a human and sleeping with woman is normal, but after all, he is a famous celeb, not a no-one-knows-much about celeb, then the story would be seen in a more harmful light that you refused to realize.
I hope korean people allow him to move on, the way you like.

I would for sure give him another chance, everyone makes mistakes - thing is some were not covered by media - and everyone deserves a second shot in life. And we always learn for our mistakes.
Like some of the comments here, maybe it is one of the ways to test if people are ready to welcome him back, testing if it is worth the investment.
We'll see guys...
