Lee Sang-yoon courted for tvN rom-com Twenty Again

Oh, cute. I like the idea of a Choi Ji-wooLee Sang-yoon drama pairing. I mean, it’ll always be second in my heart to a Choi Ji-woo-Lee Seo-jin pairing, but they can make it up to us by dating in real life, right? Now that the new tvN romantic comedy Twenty Again has locked down Choi Ji-woo (Temptation) to headline, the offer is out to Lee Sang-yoon (Liar Game) to play her leading man.

It’s a bit of a question mark what exactly their drama relationship entails though, because he’s called her love interest but there are differing press releases about the story particulars. The series is a coming-of-age romantic comedy about a 38-year-old woman who decides to change the course of her life by going back to college, and through her comical experience of mixing it up with 20-year-olds, she relives a part of her youth that she skipped over when she became a mother at 19.

Earlier stories describe the heroine as a wife and mother, with a professor husband and a 19-year-old son who’ll be entering college at the same time, which should be hilarious. Well, embarrassing for the son but funny for us. I just don’t know what her marital status is or will remain, and I’m just hoping that it’s not an adultery drama, because that doesn’t exactly sound like a happy premise.

Lee Sang-yoon is being courted to play an adjunct professor in the theater-film department. Too bad, he makes one crazy hot criminal psychology professor. Just sayin’. The character is high school classmates with the heroine, and he’s a carefree single guy who’s spontaneous and prickly, but he leads a very passionate life. It seems like the obvious setup for them to become romantically entangled, so I’ll just wait for the drama to explain away the husband in some manner that makes sense, so that Lee Sang-yoon can get the girl. ‘Cause he’d better get the girl.

Writer So Hyun-kyung of 49 Days and Two Weeks and PD Kim Hyung-shik of Suspicious Housekeeper and Sign are at the helm. Twenty Again follows Oh My Ghostess on Fridays and Saturdays in late August.

He can always do Liar Game 2 later. All the stars need to align for that to happen though. I just hope whenever that is, they don't give him that ridiculous hair do they did at the end of episode 12.

Same here. I was just thinking yesterday what his next drama will be. And now he has been offered to play a role with Choi Ji-woo.

A professor character suits him well like in Liar Game even I think in real life. But I wish the character would be like Ji Hyun-woo's character in Angry Mom. That would show his dimples a lot which is cute.

We'll I'd rather wait if he will choose his or if there will be Liar Game II. :)

I'm hoping that she gets a divorce and it's the divorce that catalyzes her return to college in order to make a life for herself. I'm a sucker for a coming-of-age story.

Aww, I was really hoping that PD's would capitalize on the Choi Ji Woo/Lee Seo Jin "mania" after GOF! Come on drama gods, what would it take to see the two of them cast in a rom com?

This sounds really really similar to a chilean drama called "mama mechona" that aired recently. I wonder if they got their inspiration on this drama or if there's some other drama somewhere that started with this idea...

I think the original idea is always "Educating Rita", a British play about a working-class older woman who goes back to open University and meets the almost alcoholic professor; he helps her to open her mind to education and literature in order to elevate her life's goals *unnecessary information to theatre buffs*
Anyway there are endless adaptations of this story both usual and unusual. Looking forward to "LSY's Educating CJW" a la korean ;-)

I hope Lee Sang Yoon Oppa and is ridiculously cute dimples can make a comeback in Liar Game soon I'm still not over the “I’m just a dog right now,” “Nam Da-jung’s faithful and vicious dog. I’ll show you what happens when you mess with my master.” thing.
But I will wait patiently for that while watching this if he takes the part. But can't they cast Lee Seo Jin as well that would be a really nice GOF reunion!

Oooo sounds good. I've been waiting for LSY to grace us with his wonderful dimples in dramaland again. Sadly I don't think LG2 is gonna happen :/.

Also I really hope they won't cast an idol actor to play her son, but I bet they will.

Funny thing is this would be kind of a role reversal for LSY in real life as he graduated from Seoul University in 2013 at the age of 31 after taking leave because of acting and military service.

Maybe LSY will be the husband? And CJW will enter college because she wants to learn and live as 20s after missing it the first time? I can totally imagine all the fun and quirky banter between spouses.

Dearest Lee Sang Yoon though...
What i would be willing to give to have him as criminal psychology professor teaching my psych class T_T

while I am happy... super duper happy with the casting of Lee Sang Yoon and Choi Ji Woo, but I can never forget the writer's ending trademark (which I reffer from 49 Days and Two Weeks). In the end... no one ended up with anyone.
