Trapped in a nightmare for Yong-pal’s first teaser

“The way to escape a bad dream is to wake up. But if you cannot wake up, the nightmare continues.”
That’s the narration driving the first teaser for Yong-pal, which takes dreamy and decidedly metaphorical bent on the drama’s premise. In the clip, Kim Tae-hee floats in air talking of a nightmare she can’t escape (in the drama, she’s a chaebol heiress put in a coma by her enemies), and Joo-won stretches out a hand and grabs her (presumably pulling her out of sleep-induced purgatory).
We know he’ll play a doctor who makes house calls to the wealthy, needing to take on those lucrative side jobs to pay for his sister’s medical bills. It’s not yet clear if he’ll be treating Kim Tae-hee as part of the gig; she’ll be housed in the VIP quarters of the hospital where he works as surgical resident, having been put into a coma by a doctor there who continues to oversee that wing (Jung Woong-in).
The teaser’s a little out there but it certainly is stylish and beautiful to look at (it doesn’t hurt that the leads are beautiful too). The drama has also released a new promo image, posted below, where Kim Tae-hee’s face is reflected in the blade of a scalpel and Joo-won’s face is outlined in a clever arrangement of letters—the words are actually the drama’s credits, with the names of its lead stars, director, and writer standing out in extra-large print.
I’m keeping my hopes down until we have some actual footage of the show, but so far, I’m liking what I see. Fingers crossed that the drama pulls out something as dark and moody as the early promos hint. Yong-pal will follow Mask on SBS, and premieres in August.

The teaser reminds of another show which its teaser was also similar, and i just remembered that it was 'Secret'.
I hope this show will be good! Finally, Kim Tae Hee is back!

Watched this teaser last night after Mask's 16th ep.
It's stylish, but what the heck with the floating thingy? It looks odd and weird..
Granted it's only promo teaser, not the actual teaser...
And I'm sure I've seen the font used for the title Yongpalyi, just forget where I saw it.

thanks to Shazams, the song is called Svefn-G-Englar by Sigur Ros. at minute 6 i think is what we hear in the trailer :)
i like the moodiness too.
this is one "many feelings at once" song, getting lost in the wave kind of feeling.

Beautiful, indeed. Also, clever and refreshing idea for a drama poster, too. Giving credit where it's deserved is always welcomed. I'm very intrigue with the plot for this drama and excited to see Joo-won in action!

That is definitely not an innovative teaser and I can probably name a few at the top of my head with the same exact concept. Even still, it does look beautiful and I think the chemistry might be on.

This trailer immediately reminded me of a trailer for the third series of Skins UK. This is funny, because the credit sequence for The Lover that recently aired was basically a direct copy of the first series of Skins.
Are Korean directors now looking to UK programming from 5-10 years ago?

Joo-won does amazing in melos, not sure about Tae-hee since she usually stands out in rom-coms.

I liked the teaser I just wish I got a bit more emotion from both of them with their faces. Kim Tae Hee's tears seemed shallow (though I think they were supposed to be more pretty than anything else) and Joo Won looked like he wanted to let go as soon as he latched on, lol.
But otherwise, I think the show sounds pretty interesting. I'm not the biggest fan of either actor but maybe I can get into this.

I hope this is the crack drama for Joo Won before he enlists. He is a much deserving actor who is not at all vain when it means to show commitment for his roles. I hope he could be more demanding like other actors for a better technical support on his projects. I will seriously miss him compared to other actors when he is gone for 21 months!!!! Saranghae Joo Won shi!!!!
