Bubblegum’s childhood friends become a couple

I know, we’re all probably a little shellshocked from the last pair of best friends who took their sweet-ass time (7000 days, to be exact) to become lovers, but maybe this couple will have better luck igniting the spark at the right time? Posters are out for tvN’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama Bubblegum, starring Jung Ryeo-won and Lee Dong-wook as longtime friends who become something more.
The romantic comedy is about adults lacking affection in their lives and healing each other by being together, and stars Lee Dong-wook as a doctor of Eastern medicine and Jung Ryeo-won as a radio PD. They’ve been the best of friends since childhood, and the first set of teasers were all about how things would be different if they tried dating each other. Awkwardness ensued, which was promising for the comedy factor.
The posters are less sarcastic, and instead feature the leads as playground pals even as adults. They look pretty adorable just playing together in the park, and the copy reads: “Love’s beginning. Since when did we become a ‘We’?”
The leading foursome is just as cute in the group shots: Lee Jong-hyuk plays Jung Ryeo-won’s chief at the broadcast station, and Park Hee-bon plays a chaebol heiress who’s also a dentist, who gets set up on a blind date with Lee Dong-wook. I’m sure there will be lots of jealousy fueling the just-friends-not-really relationship at the center of the story, but they all look so cozy and happy together… for now.
Bubblegum follows Rude Miss Young-ae and premieres October 26.

I used to think lee da hae and lee dong wook are perfect for each other but with LDH's constant surgery, I can't recognize her anymore....

. . . Be a hoot if she were a dedicated, lone wolf dentist who raises havoc with the senior dentists in her group who only want to fix the teeth of rich patients and do their best to avoid treating the poor and indigent, even if their gums are bleeding right in front of them.

The posters look so warm! And the leads look like they're enjoying the filming. Which is a good sign, plus they have quite a time before this airs. I do not have high expectation given the overused premise, I just hope they deliver!

After the disappointments that took 7,000 days to finish as well as Cool and Not Really Cozy, I'm definitely looking forward to this! I dropped more romcoms with promising casts in a hot minute this year. Love JRW+LDW and hoping that this takes me out of my kdrama slump.

You're right guys, Lee Jong-hyuk deserves MAIN lead always. That's why I am glad he got lead role in Dating Agency Cyrano alongside Sooyoung. My gosh he is so deserving!

I'm kinda excited for Park Hee-bon, she is like everywhere and her face is in some dramas i watched only as side minor character. So, yay for second lead?
Like the whole cast, really hope this will be good. My bar sets reaaallly low right now because of certain drama.

Thank you, Dramabeans, for bringing posters! This drama seems to be the best drama this year for me if my intuition won't fail me. I was dissapointed almost with every I've watched...besides KMHM. Lee Dong Wook & JRW are more then cute. I will celebrate my 1-year LDW crush with this drama!!

Aw yeah, I've been diggin' all the pretty natural real life background settings for drama/movie posters these days vs. the super boring inside a studio/photoshopped ones. Why can't we have more of these? I think it attracts immediate attention from the audience and makes for a really good first impression. You'd think this be a given. I guess it's just easier to take studio photos?
Anyways, I like Lee Dong-wook and Jung- Ryeo-won as individual actors and think that they both give off a really chill and down-to-earth vibe through their acting/in their real life personalities, so I think this pairing has potential! The story sounds cute, the romance sounds... hilarious, but promising(?), and the group photos are cute, too!
