Jang Nara headlines MBC’s One More Happy Ending

It looks like it’s back to MBC for Jang Nara (I Remember You, Fated To Love You) in the new year, where she’ll be headlining a new drama called One More Happy Ending. The series will be about a remarriage consulting agency that specializes in helping divorced singles find their second happily ever after. I don’t see why a regular marriage consulting agency couldn’t do the same thing, but I guess there’s a niche for every industry.
The new Wednesday-Thursday drama comes from PD Kwon Sung-chang (Mother’s Garden, Gu Am Heo Jun, Night Hospital) and new writer Heo Sung-hee. Jang Nara will star as a beautiful woman who runs a remarriage consulting agency along with a partner. She calls herself a love guru, but others in her line of work call her the “single-again piranha,” because she threatens their first-marriage-forever ecosystem.
She’ll provide a refreshing perspective when consulting with her divorced clients, who are all hoping to find love a second time. The drama will be about divorce, marriage, remarriage, and everything in between, and serve as a guideline for men and women who want to find happiness again. It sounds like a feel-good romance, which is right up Jang Nara’s alley.
The casting stories don’t really describe the heroine’s love story in any detail, but I think it would be fun if she fell for one of her clients and had a crisis of conscience, like a Cyrano Agency kind of scenario where she’s playing matchmaker and kicking herself for doing such a good job. That would be adorable. But please, let’s pair her up with an actor who’d make the romance sizzle, shall we? The fantasy casting call begins now.
One More Happy Ending is set to follow Sweet Savage Family on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting January.

Wow, I'm really excited for this. This will be a first for JNR wouldn't it? I think she gives much better performances when her role's heavier and I'm so happy to see her headlining a drama.

Oh yeah! Welcome back Jang Nara. I hope this is another good one from her. Sounds like a slice of life drama or something more real. Please don't go to shallow route..
I hope nobody start complaining about actresses taking dramas in short interval when actors are doing the same thing too.

Its hard to say and actually pin point it. LOL. She was really huge back in the days, and she is famous enough now. Since she comebacks to Korea, she has babyfaced beauty, school 2013, Mr Back and fated to love you to back her profile up.
But she always come across as underrated in a way.
So.. but i always tune in for her dramas because she delivers. So this is definitely a good news for me. Plus, i really dislike it when nobody complains about their oppas taking on drama like a few weeks after his last dramas and then say 'not this face again' to certain actress. Its their work. What's the harm in that. She has been gone from Korea drama scene for quite a while too. Let the girl do some catching up.

She is delivering pretty consistent acting in the shows I've seen and I find her reasonably likeable. In fact I was just thinking it's about time TvN poaches her for some really great drama that gets good rating and critical approval.

In china it pretty normal for actors to do half a dozen if not more drama in a year, Jang Nara even done two drama in china that overlaps at the end of one and the start of another, so the second had to work thier shooting around the scenes she was not in untill she was free. Of course the Chinese Tv industry can put out over 200 new shows a year, and they not just made in one city like Korea, where the industry all centred around their capital.
As for how popular she is in Korea will as Excitable says she was mega huge during her kpop time and had one of the biggest hit TV shows of the time as well. Since coming back from Chine after many years all her drama have done well if not amazingly so. So I would think she popular with MBC and KBS as an actor that you can count on to deliver, it not always a hit, at lest a solid performance.

Tbh, 2014-15 are the only years I've seen JNR take on supporting leads. As a long time Kdrama addict I think she's been headlining her own dramas for as long as I remember. This is still a nice surprise though, I thought she dropped off the radar a little, and I didn't really like her performances for her last two dramas.

I loved FTLY, but Mr. Back and I Remember You were disappointing. Mr. Back was a mess, and IRY felt like it could've been better than it was. I know a lot of people praised that drama and JNR's character there, but I dropped it midway through. I thought it was thin on characterization and low on real intrigue. I really didn't care for how Ji-an was portrayed as a bumbling idiot in the first few episodes in order to make the male lead look better, when she was supposed to be just as accomplished in her own right. But I tend to think dramas shouldn't mix comedy and serial killing, anyway.
Regardless, it's nice to see JNR headlining a drama, and I hope it stays/actually is female-centric. I don't really care who her leading man is as long as he can act.

That's exactly how I feel. In my opinion she doesn't shine when she's not in the spotlight. Her character in IRY had bright moments but overall it's poorly written and honestly I didn't like her acting there as well *dodge bullets*. Plus the fact that the killer was revealed so early. And I also agree wholeheartedly that Mr. Back was an utter mess. I've said it a lot of times already, but I can't believe I wasted 6 hours of my time watching that. I'm hoping that her starring in a female centric drama will mean a better performance, because I enjoyed Baby-faced Beauty, some parts of School and also Wedding (I'm probably part of a minority on that).

@Exicetable LOL I have no problem with those who work non stop, that's their job and nothing's wrong with that. They can improve their skill well...so...
If they disappear from acting and do something else like ton of CF for example , then people will complain as well. People's job is complaining -_-

The story sounds a lot like the Taiwanese drama "Murphy's Law Of Love". Anyways hope its good. I liked her drama I Remember You with Seo In Guk :)

It makes sense to cast over 30 actors since the drama will deal with a divorce couple. And naturally I'm thinking about my bias. Although it's very unlikely that he'll think about this drama since he's pretty occupied in his quest to change his image from good guy to bad guy. But if the husband is a big AH who knows he might be interested.
And it would be a tough job for JNR as well to try to fix this couple who is obviously doesn't belong together because no women should be unfortunate enough to have this man as a husband only to find herself falling for the bastard.

Ugh too bad Jang hyuk is occupied with his saeguk..unless it will end before her drama starts and we can have them together again? they are like one of the best OTP i seen in dramas.
anyway. if she'll have a male lead i like, i'm in for this drama. it's not that i don't like her but i need strong leads that will make me watch this and i try to be picky with my drama selecting since i still have tasks to sinish -_-

This sounds too much like Love & Marriage , but Iiked that drama and I love Jang Nara , so no complaints here .

One good thing about Jang Nara, she effortlessly cute and adorable to be in rom-com.. I always love to see her and Gong hyo Jin in rom-com and their chemistry with their partner are fantastic :D

well they not said enough to say if the drama a light romance or one with a more heavy story line, though it seem more the first at a guess. And I never went for the idea that acting in a melodrama takes more 'skill' as an actor, than acting in a light comdey.

Oohh yes, Jang nara is the perfect cast for this one. Looking forward to her acting as a former girl group member and becomes a love guru hahaha that is totally exciting. I am really thinking about her appearance w/ the lead man and I think it will be a great pairing, nice one MBC. It's another jackpot I think. Haha playing such diff roles is one of her goals as an actress and now I want to congratulate her for that being able to take different roles in Korea because usually she took big and diff roles in china. Ohwell I am really excited for this one. ^^

SM, when they had her under contract did in fact try a force her into a girl band, before her debute but she said no and it lead to them breaking contract and starting her solo life as a singer. thank you SM lol
