Confirmed: Park Hae-jin returns to dramaland for Man to Man

Are we tired of Park Hae-jin (Cheese in the Trap) news yet, or is that not possible? He’s certainly been in a lot of headlines lately. At least time it comes with a confirmation: He will be tackling the lead in Man to Man, a drama in the works for cable channel JTBC, in which he’ll play a bodyguard to a top star.
There’s probably no need to even rehash the details of the plot since you probably still remember them all since the last update about this project mere days ago, which has attached Descended From the Son’s second writer, Kim Won-seok. There’s little other information available about the plot other than that Park Hae-jin will be mysterious and multi-skilled, which seems eminently within his range.
At least now we can turn our attention to which actor they’ll cast opposite him as the famous movie star, and whether he’ll have better luck with JTBC than he did with tvN, although overall you can say cable’s been good to him (we can include OCN’s Bad Guys on that list, and really, even Cheese was a success ratings-wise). Scheduling hasn’t been announced, but barring big changes, I’m expecting it’ll go into JTBC’s Friday-Saturday drama timeslot.

For a while there, I only saw "CONFIRMED: PARK HAE-JIN RETURNS". Felt unexplainable dread when I thought about him being confirmed to reprise the Yoo Jung role.

Literally me when I read the title. I was like, Wait wha--? OH. I'm glad PHJ has decided to take on this project. I'm a fan of his, will totally watch Man to Man (I wonder who they'll get as the celeb he's protecting?), and now I'm interested in checking out his past projects. Seems like some people really liked him in Bad Guys, so that'll be next on my ever-growing list of dramas to try.

I liked Bad Guys and the acting (by the whole cast) was good but have to admit that it was a bit too hardcore for me. Had to skip a few episodes there.
Trying to avoid spoilers but ppl who have seen it will know the villains are not nice ppl (well, when the good guys are this bad, the villains have to be bad enough to make hardcore murderers cringe, so).
The plot twists are daebak. Watch it by all means but if you have a low tolerance for gore, violence, etc...I recommend having the fast forward button ready.

Yup..I fast forwarded the violent scenes or closed my eyes. Being like that, I really enjoyed Bad Guys and if becomes one of my favourite series. Waiting for Bad Guys 2!! *and hoping that they tone down the violence*

Us tired of PHJ news? Never! I agree. Maybe finally, we will be able to move on. I hope for a great script for him. Great director... great ratings. I know JTBC hasn't been blessed with high ratings yet, but I hope it will get higher ratings than Cheese had.

Apparently his military exemption was a big controversy for him some ten years ago. If you google Park Hae Jin military you'll find plenty of articles. I've only recently discovered his acting this year due to Cheese in the Trap so it was news to me.

He was exempted few years before he became a celebrity, actually. Because he was treated for depression and socialphobia for a while (1-2 years? iirc)
But it suddenly caused a controversy around 2010 cuz he was at the age to service. People speculated he forged the exemption to continue his career as a celebrity. Later he was cleared for all suspicion.

Yay! I love Park Hae-jin ever since Bad Guys. I liked him in YFAS but man he really showed his acting chops in Bad Guys. I loved him in CITT as well (it wasn't his fault the plot went to crap halfway through). He always gives a solid performance and is gorgeous to look at. It's not possible to grow tired of him or of news of him or of pictures of him. ;)

No, I'm not tired reading the news about him, especially good news. I wish this project could repay all the lost he suffered from CITT (if any) and justify his talent & hard work.
btw I was watching his old drama called Hot Blood. I know there are bad reviews about it but actually I'm kinda enjoying it. It's easy to watch, not dull at all. and thing that surprised me was... in ep 6 & 7 there were the scene that showed him with his office colleagues. one of them was Choi Yoon Young, his wife in My Daughter Seo Young. apparently she played small role there, her name wasn't even written in the cast's list. hahaha... as a fan of this couple I'm so happy that I want to let the world knows about it.

^This is exactly what I thought could be fun to watch. We know how outlandish CSW can be playing a celebrity in a drama ... although that may be another reason to go with someone else.

Lol, I dunno I actually still feel like I don't hear or see anything about him much. Maybe it's because I'm not actively seeking it out but it's still just the usual acting stuff with him that comes every once in a while. It doesn't feel any different than before even taking his recent work into consideration.
Really love him as an actor. I only got to know him through YFAS and he was the only reason I stuck with that show not to mention the only character I felt did anything (he had his own whodunnit on the side lol). I'm here for this.

2nd half of Cheese taught me to expect the best from HJ but not from the drama, that should keep me prepared for whatever project he has next. I hope it's a good one though.
