Dramabeans Podcast #32

Here I’d thought we’d done a good job of recording a new podcast without letting too much time slip by… and then I saw the list of all the shows we had to talk about and cursed our past selves for not being more on top of things. We’ll never learn! I should just accept this about us already and embrace it.

So here’s what we’ve got going in this edition:

I love Song Joong Ki but honestly I can't get addicted to Descended of the Suns. I don't know whether it's the bad English acting (completely agree with Javabeans and Girlfriday on the awful acting from the english-speaking actor) or the plot/lack of it, or the incredibly bad medical cases but I just can't get into this drama.
i watched the first 4 episodes and basically i just flash forward everything and only watch Joong ki's scenes.
He's so pretty and he is a good actor. This drama just not doing it for me. Sigh.

Thank you very much for another podcast, ladies!! It's always fun to listen to your take on dramas. I've not had a chance to watch all of them, but I completely agree with your stance on most the dramas I've watched or am currently watching.

I'm most bitter about CITT, and this is from someone who's not even read the webtoon. The starting of the drama was just too good to forgive such a shitty ending. Ultimately, it just left me with a sour taste, especially when considering the clash between the reel and real.

Re DotS - Wow, just wow. I enjoy the drama. I appreciate the acting, and I will happily squeal over the more romantic elements. But it's not a drama I could discuss at length. That's not to say it's devoid of any depth or meaning (for those who do enjoy dissecting), rather it's a show that I can just kickback and enjoy for an hour or so, knowing that I'll be entertained - Something I'd have wanted/expected from Heirs.

But isn't every show like that? Some you're entertained by, and some you're not. It's completely a matter of preference. So to hear that people are taking their like/dislike for the show so seriously is a real pity, and rather upsetting to be honest.

You ladies have always given us a secure platform to discuss our views on any show with freedom and integrity. But to see/hear people abuse that is concerning - people really need to stop.

I also appreciate that shows are being recapped by recappers who genuinely love and are entertained by what they're watching - it makes a huge difference to the tone of writing. Thank you very much to the team at Dramabeans, and to Lollypip, for recapping DoTs, and for being so patient with some of the more ungrateful sods of the online community. x

"...gave it to the other guy and fill in the blanks (LOL)...writing feels empty, it's because it doesn't start from point a and let's explore.."

I enjoy the show, but truer words have never been said!! LOL, seriously, you guys truly know how to read drama and are objective in your stance when reviewing at a literary level. Keep doing what you're doing ladies!

Maybe you've already addressed this but why aren't you on itunes, etc.? Would be so much easier to listen on the go.

This is the first time I've listened to your podcast after having only recently fallen in love with Korean movies and shows and I enjoyed it and will listen to more but I have to say that it was difficult to listen to as I had to adjust the volume almost every ten seconds due to it going up and down so much. I assume it was courtesy of the two of you moving around in your seats (away from the microphone and then closer to it).
