Yoon Kyun-sang to join Pinocchio reunion in Gogh, The Starry Night

Actor Yoon Kyun-sang (Six Flying Dragons) will be appearing in the Chinese-Korean joint web drama Gogh, the Starry Night for a cameo. It’s the first web drama from PD Jo Soo-won (I Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio) and will also feature a cameo appearance from fellow Pinocchio alum Park Shin-hye. Yoon was reported to have participated in a shoot for the drama on April 26.

Yoon Kyun-sang has had a long-standing friendship with PD Jo Soo-won, whom he worked with in The Time I’ve Loved You, Gap-dong, as well as the drama that catapulted his career, Pinocchio. By PD Jo’s request, Yoon agreed to make a special appearance in Gogh, the Starry Night. Yoon has promised that although his screen time is limited, he will deliver short but impactful acting.

Gogh, the Starry Night is about an ad agency employee’s trials and tribulations as she reaches for success in both love and her career. This will be PD Jo’s first web-only series, but judging by his past works, we can look forward to enjoying a fresh, bright romantic comedy. SNSD’s Kwon Yuri (Neighborhood Hero) will be starring as Gogh, and Kim Young-kwang (D-Day) has been cast as her male lead.

The web drama is set to be released this coming June.

I loved I Hear Your Voice and also liked Pinocchio a lot, but... Yuri? Really? Why is she cast so much these days? Please make it stop?

I don't think I could manage watching her as a lead, even if it's just a webdrama. Sorry, PD Jo...

Also, Kim Young Kwan really didn't impress me that much in Pinocchio or Hot Young Bloods. I know he's won awards and all, but I found him to be a bit bland, just like Yuri. I don't think they'll have any chemistry, despite (/because of) that similarity.

Kim Young-kwang isn't a bad actor exactly, but I just don't think he's lead material. There are way better out there, even among the model-actor cohort (Lee Soo-hyuk has been experimenting with roles far more)

I don't find him to be a bad actor either, he's just not a very captivating one either. I honestly had to look up his name to see what roles he'd had and was surprised to find I'd seen two of his works lol.

Usually I find that the model turned actors are pretty decent. Probably because a lot of them actually wanted to act originally and only modeled because either a) their company told them to or b) they figured it was an easier way to get into acting.
(I'd love to see Lee Soo Hyuk in a lead role some time soon. With the right co-actors I think he could do good.)

Kim Young Kwang is a good actor, I liked him in Plus Nine Boys and fell in love with his character in The Day.
I haven't finished Pinocchio so I can't make any comments about his acting there, but I agree that he wasn't that good in Hot Young Bloods.

It's funny right? Back then I really liked Lee Soo Hyuk and thought he had potential, but didn't like Kim Young Kwang and thought his acting forgettable. Now, after watching more of both their works, it's completely reversed lol!

lol since this is just a cameo i'm not going to bother with the full thing, but his Korean fans would definitely make video cuts/gifs of his parts anyway so I'll just find those.

BABY MOOHYUL! ♡

Only cameo? I think I'll skip it.
The female lead name give me turn off.
I will watch Kyunsang's upcoming drama in SBD instead.

I don't know if I'll be watching this, to be honest.

What I do know, is that Yoon Kyun-sang certainly made an fantastic impression in Six Flying Dragons and I'm now a fan.

Been waiting for Kim Young Kwang to get a lead roll. I will be watching this one because of him. Don't recall seeing any of Yuri's acting, but it's worth giving her a chance.
