Kim Nam-gil considers reporting for duty in new film Exemplary Police

Actor Kim Nam-gil (The Sound of a Flower, Shark) may be remaining on the big screen for a while. He’s the frontrunner for a lead role in the new movie from the director of Psychic, called Exemplary Police. Kim has received the offer and is currently considering the script.

Exemplary Police is Director Kim Min-seok’s first new project in six years and his second to date. His last film was 2010’s supernatural action thriller Psychic (Haunters) starring Go Soo and Kang Dong-won. Exemplary Police will tell the story of corrupt cops, and promises a frank portrayal of the corrupt system.

This summer, ten million people flocked to theaters to watch zombie disaster flick Train to Busan, which featured the handiwork of experienced martial arts choreographer Heo Myung-heng, whose combat expertise was also employed in this year’s The Last Princess and A Violent Prosecutor, as well as 2015’s The Priests.

Heo will also bring his martial arts knowledge to Exemplary Police, which means fans of Kim Nam-gil in slick action sequences have reason to rejoice. In the meantime, fans can get their Kim Nam-gil fix in A Murderer’s Guide to Memory and My Angel, two films expected to be released later this year.

I fell in love with Bi-dam. (Why did you go crazy, Bi-dam? You were so cool before you went nuts.)

And I still have a place in my heart for Kim Nam-gil. Sigh.

When you mention Bi-dam, I remember that scene in Best Love where Dokko Jin laughs that he dodged the Bidam role because in that alterna-verse, QSD tanked and Kim Nam-gil lost popularity. XD

Oooh, just watched Kim Nam Gil for the first time in The pirates with beautiful Sohn Ye Jin and I loved his wacky and comedic character. I don't know if its me but I always confuse him with Yoon Kye San.

Looking forward to the 2 or so movies he has coming out. He'll always be a fave.

I also loved him in The Shameless with Jeon Do Yeon, he got to show some humor in the role as well; he's a funny guy so it's nice to see.

Lol, at people always having to pray that his characters don't die. It is very exhausting. I wish he'd take something light once in a while but I believe it's just not what interests him.

Another one of my darlings. As much as I would love to watch him in another drama, like everyone else I'm hoping he doesn't have to die in this one.
