Name That Drama: Fluffy puppies and extreme makjang

As always, feel free to email us your questions and requests for future Name That Drama installments.

  1. The “or something” is the most important part

Well, there was this drama I watched, it’s about a family or something, and the drama is full of innuendos. I remember a scene where the boy from the family blows out a condom, and I also remember the girl from the family who really likes bad guys, so the good guy that likes her has to pretend to be a bad guy to get her attention or something. The drama seemed to be funny so I’d like to watch it again, so anyone who has an idea of what this drama is, please tell me!

  2. Name That Possibly Chinese Drama

I happened to watch this drama, twice actually, and I missed the title both times. The worst part is that I only remember bits and parts of the show.

It’s about a businessman who’s managing an advertising company or something like that, and he gets an offer from a client who asks him to recruit four girls. As it turns out, the client’s just using the deal as an excuse to get close to the girl’s mother, who later falls in love with the show’s hero. I’d like to know the title, please! (Oh, and I think it is a Chinese drama.)

  3. Name That Sitcom

I’m pretty sure this is a sitcom from before 2009, and there’s this scene where a girl, while taking pictures for her friends, suddenly sees her crush (that they all know) playing with a puppy, and she takes photos of him instead. Then, later, she goes to a store to get the picture photoshopped so that a picture of him kissing the puppy (a white and fluffy puppy) turned into one of him almost kissing her.

Her friends somehow find out and get the picture printed on everything, from cups to t-shirts, and use it to blackmail the girl into doing whatever they want her to do (or else they’ll show it to the guy). In the end, the guy find out, and I think she is forced to bungee jump as punishment. Nobody has ever been able to tell me what this was, so, crossing my fingers!

  4. This either could be my favorite makjang ever or every other makjang ever

Hi! I remembered this drama after reading a similar description of another drama in a previous post.

I think at the center of the story there were two sisters, and the younger one was very innocent, while the older one was very powerful and charismatic. (The actress playing the older sister looked like Go Hyun-jung, but it wasn’t her.)

The story was definitely a makjang. At one point, the man who was courting the younger sister raped her, and she conceived a child. But just then, the older sister married a rich guy, but found out she was infertile, so she decided to tell her younger sister that the baby died in childbirth. She put on a fake pregnancy belly for nine months to pretend that she birthed her sister’s child.

I think this drama aired sometime between 2009-2012. I’m so curious, please help!

  5. Good luck with this one, guys

A girl separated from her family at a young age gets adopted by a family who treats her poorly, except for her foster father. A boy who idolizes Bruce Lee becomes the top fighter in a gang. The separated girl’s family, which has been looking for her for years, soon ends up having the girl work at the real father’s company as a janitor, but no one notices.

The daughter of the adopted family soon pretends to be the girl and successfully integrated with the lost girl’s family. The girl’s father died in a car accident due to the fake girl’s phone call. The boy died in a gang fight, and the girl was heartbroken. I don’t remember the title.

Thanks for playing, everyone — till next time!

But then again, maybe not cos the main lead was the manipulative younger sister not the kind one. Plus she was pregnant cause of a gang rape..

#5 I think the title is "Glass Slippers". So Ji Subs character died because of a gang fight on the day of their wedding.

I definitely think #5 is Glass Slippers. So ji sub's character likes to fight and maybe my mind is playing tricks on me but he had a Bruce Lee poster in his room. The lead girl worked as a janitor at her biological grandfather's company for some time. The mean girl stole the lead girl's identity after lead girl was kicked out of her house when her adopted father tried to rape her.

It definitely is Glass Slippers.
It also happens to be the drama that got me hooked on k dramas. Looking back now, not sure how that happened haha

Loved that show. I bought the VCDs and watched 50 episodes of them. Cried so much. That was when I first liked So Ji Sub.

#4 sort of reminds me of Roof Top Prince for some reason.. and Missing You. I know it's neither of them but I feel like I've watched that drama too but can't remember it. I'm trying to recall what it is... It's on the tip of my tongue but I can't place it anywhere.

#4 is Flames of Ambition but the charismatic Go Hyun Jung lookalike is the younger sister. The older sister is raped by the guy who was courting her but she doesn't get pregnant iirc. The younger sister gets pregnant and then the kind sister lies that the baby died so she can marry the rich guy and also because the younger sister didn't want the baby anyway. The rich guy had a lover his family doesn't approve of and the younger sister who married him ends up making a deal with the woman to raise her baby as her own and fakes a pregnancy.

Not sure, but #2 is perhaps Chinese drama "Best Get Going aka. The Interns" with Zhao Li Ying but it's 4 friends, not sisters who get recruited - and not sure about the mom thing.

I don´t know any of these, but no. 6 will be "The Drama That Still Wants To Depress", a drama about how members of an internet site read about awful dramas and decide to see them with grim consequences.

This segement is really titled "Warning against watching makjang. If you've read consider yourself warned."
I'm really grateful I only watch selected primetime dramas ?

Makjang dramas are so exaggerated. All these dramas sound funny and sad at the same time. Goodluck knowing the titles.

Ditto is a Korean film. It's a lot like your description, but it's not a drama so I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for.
