Top 10 favorite dramas of all time

javabeans: And here we are, with the last of our 10th-anniversary Top 10 lists! Our initial goal in doing these Top 10’s was to celebrate our 10th birthday, and while we didn’t quite make all 10 fit into our birthday month, better late than never?

girlfriday: Since we’re 10 years old all year long, I think it counts!

javabeans: We do intend to keep writing Top 10 lists, but this puts an end to our Anniversary 10 Top 10’s for the time being.

girlfriday: Our last list is, appropriately, Top 10 favorite dramas of all time.

javabeans: We opened this one up to the rest of our staff, and it was fascinating to see not only which titles everyone picked, but also their reasoning for going that way. One person might have been influenced most by character, another by plot, another by emotional response.

girlfriday: I had a lot of fun reading everyone’s lists, so we hope you do too!

There are great dramas that can be excellent fun while watching, but they don’t make my all-time favorites list without this one crucial element: feeling that perfect (or close-to-perfect) sense of satisfaction at the end. These are the dramas that make me sigh in contentment, feel that every minute was worth it, and leave a warm glow for years to come.

1. Shut Up: Flower Boy Band: Captures the turmoil of adolescence, with bromance and rock music.

2. Princess’s Man: One of the fiercest, most resourceful heroines around. Thrilling and romantic.

3. Delightful Girl Chun-hyang: A sentimental favorite! Funny, sweet, and satisfying.

4. Soulmate: Witty, refreshing take on modern love with a breezy attitude.

5. Joseon X-Files: Smartly written, mind-bending plot twists, wryly funny, and unexpectedly moving.

6. Return of Iljimae: Achingly poignant, beautiful, wistful. Not one false step.

7. Gaksital: Epic. Intense. It’ll shred you up and stick with you for ages.

8. Dal Ja’s Spring: Relatable heroine, sweet romance, uplifting take on modern careers and friendships.

9. Story of a Man: Sometimes dark, sometimes zippy fun—capers, bromance, and a satisfyingly matched hero-villain standoff.

10. This Week, My Wife Will Have an Affair: Both cuttingly painful and cuttingly funny, interwoven with hope and understanding.

These are the dramas that burrowed into my soul and took up residence there, leading me down countless imaginary roads where their stories continued and I never had to say goodbye. My favorite stories are the ones that naturally lead me to write a second season in my head, because the characters just refuse to go towards the light.

1. Answer Me 1997: My era, my youth, my story.

2. Misaeng: This drama is how I feel about adulthood. This explains my reluctance to be an adult.

3. Coffee Prince: My ideal romance, if the world were perfect.

4. I Hear Your Voice: Pure addiction in drama form. My favorite cohabitation hijinks and noona romance in one.

5. Return of Iljimae: Sweeping origin story of a hero full of loneliness and pathos.

6. My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho: Grade A beef rom-com comfort food. Nom nom nom.

7. Gaksital: Sometimes history is the best drama, and ordinary heroes are the most extraordinary.

8. School 2013: The only drama couple I ship in real life.

9. Splish Splash Love: Such a perfect little dose of swoony fantasy romance in such a small bite.

10. White Christmas: Left me scarred for life. Why do I keep rewatching it?

HeadsNo2

I always gravitate more toward dramas with both intellectual and emotional value, so these aren’t just my favorites, they’re also dramas I would wholeheartedly recommend without a moment’s hesitation as perfect examples of what K-dramas bring to the table that other forms of television media rarely can: an unmatched sense of pathos, a complete story, and the ability to both immerse and transport us.

1. White Christmas: Gorgeous, dark, twisty, what-is-the-nature-of-humanity masterpiece.

2. Chuno: Manes of glory and abs and Jang Hyuk, oh my!

3. Tree With Deep Roots: That villain reveal is still unmatched. Also, Jang Hyuk.

4. Liar Game: Best drama villain ever, best hero ever, best mind games. #sixseasonsandamovie

5. Six Flying Dragons: It’s like my fifth favorite drama wrapped around my third favorite drama.

6. End of the World: Death and disease on an apocalyptic scale? Yes please.

7. Conspiracy in the Court: Gripping, depressing, uplifting, unrelenting, masterful.

8. Punch: Amazing villain, deft storytelling, out of this world acting.

9. Heartless City: Dark like my soul.

10. History of the Salaryman: Truly one of a kind, offbeat and hilarious. All hail Yeo-chi.

gummimochi

Take one look at this list and here’s what you can learn about me: I like my heroes flawed, my villains smart, and the darker and grittier the dramaverse, the better. My demands are simple, but hard to meet when it comes to all-time faves, and these are the stories that have secured an eternal place in my heart.

1. Heartless City: Bros before hos, and sometimes drugs.

2. Signal: Can you hear my still beating heart now? Good.

3. Bad Guys: It takes one to know one.

4. Story of a Man: Brainy is the new sexy.

5. Shut Up: Flower Boy Band: Eye Candy.

6. Punch: Sock it to ’em.

7. Liar Game: Go big or go home.

8. Soulmate: This is not a love song.

9. Kill Me, Heal Me: I can’t split my love for you into seven.

10. Autumn Fairy Tale: Won Bin, the original Oppa.

dramallama

It’s difficult to articulate my subjectivity and natural draw to my favorite dramas, but my final picks ultimately depended on my chemistry with the drama itself. Something in the narratives of these dramas sparked my inclination to fall into the stories head first and remain captured by them through the end.

1. Signal: Waiting for the walkie talkie crackle from Season 2 to let me know that it’s happening.

2. Healer: Clever and lonely night errand boy with adorable alter egos finds people he’d risk his life to protect.

3. Answer Me 1997: A nostalgia for young effervescence that woke up the fangirl I never knew existed.

4. My Name is Kim Sam-soon: The original mortified and unapologetic heroine who strutted away all her haters. She was my idol.

5. Misaeng: Life will always be tragically incomplete, but at least we’re trying to complete it together.

6. Dear My Friends: When I grow up, I want to be them.

7. Gaksital: Epically treacherous. Epically revolutionary. So. Freaking. Epic.

8. Full House: Imagine younger Rain playing himself and adorably dancing to “Gom Se Mari” to cheer up his cohabiter.

9. Queen In-hyun’s Man: Just keep kissing the Joseon scholar until he figures out what it means.

10. Famous Chil Princesses: The family drama that made me want to live in a family drama. Maybe Lee Seung-gi and Park Hae-jin have a little to do with that.

LollyPip

I don’t really have any particular theme or reasons for my top ten, other that that these are the shows that have grounded and increased my love for Korean dramas for one reason or another. And it’s difficult to condense into one sentence why I love them so much, but I’ll do my best — basically, I just love them because I love them, and that’s all there is to it.

1. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju: Favorite relationship, Bok-ju and Joon-hyung were perfect for each other in every way.

2. Shut Up: Flower Boy Band: Favorite boys, I’m still upset Eye Candy isn’t a real-life band.

3. Flower Boy Ramyun Shop: Favorite first Korean drama, the one that started it all.

4. The King 2 Hearts: Favorite downfall of an anti-hero due to love, also favorite second lead (I love you Earnest Bot).

5. School 2013: Favorite bromance, no romance could ever hold a candle to the love between Nam-soon and Hyung-soo.

6. Queen In-hyun’s Man: Favorite time-traveler (Boong-do will always be my ideal sexy nerd).

7. Answer Me 1997: Favorite bit of nostalgia… who can forget their first boy-band crushes?

8. Coffee Prince: Favorite cross-dressing drama, and my favorite first kiss.

9. Arang and the Magistrate: Favorite fantasy, the lore and world-building are still unmatched.

10. Heart to Heart: Favorite show I’ve recapped, I can’t even really say why, just that I enjoyed every minute of it.

odilettante

As a “love ‘em and leave ‘em” drama addict, “favorite” primarily means “watched more than once.” Likely drama candidates contain memorable characters, establish a sense of ownership after experiencing the debut of now beloved actors/actresses, and exploit my weakness for an ensemble cast filled with oddball personalities.

1. Answer Me 1997: “The reason I like you? … Because you’re you.”

2. What’s Up?: students filling my soul with their stories and song

3. Misaeng: the joy and pain of an exquisitely crafted drama

4. White Christmas: it’s not the holidays without Merry Mad Mir-eu

5. City Hall: Kim Sun-ah at her best, both comedically and emotionally

6. Story of a Man: platonic ideal of cat-and-mouse games (plus Park Ki-woong!)

7. Harvest Villa: goes to 11 on the “dark and quirky” dial

8. Flower Boy Next Door: Webtoon Editor is my patronus

9. King of Dramas: Jung Ryeo-won *heart eyes* and “What would Anthony do?”

10. Coffee Prince: Waffle Prince is the only prince I need

Saya

This list is fluid and ever-changing—it’s what I love now, with a slant towards recent shows because my memory sucks. It also doubles as my “shows I hawk to K-drama virgins”-list. For me, these shows transcend culture, language, and genre, to make a full meal for my hungry heart.

1. Signal: I don’t think I need to explain this one.

2. Healer: Just so heart-bursting and badass.

3. I Hear Your Voice: Hits every single sweet spot.

4. Two Weeks: Grand High Oppa, Lee Jun-ki.

5. Secret: I discover revenge melos. Where were you all my life.

6. I Remember You: Creepy, funny and bleeding-hearty.

7. Shut Up: Flower Boy Band: Aaall the bromance forever! Scraping my heart off the pavement.

8. Faith: I adore old-fashioned romances, especially when they involve sword-wielding warriors.

9. Dal-ja’s Spring: Also noona romances.

10. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju: And youthful romances. Everything about this drama is unadulterated joy.

awcoconuts

If I were stranded on a deserted island and could only take ten dramas with me, which ten would I take? Here’s my list as of this writing, but I can’t promise that a new show (or a new-to-me, but old show) won’t cause an overhaul in the future.

1. Answer Me 1988: Wholly satisfying on so many levels.

2. Healer: Swoony hero + plucky heroine = consummate romance.

3. School 2013: Teenage angst, wrapped in a perfectly imperfect package.

4. Coffee Prince: Whether man or alien, love conquers all (harbinger of #9).

5. My Name is Kim Sam Soon: Sassy protagonist changes the drama landscape.

6. Bottom of the 9th with 2 Outs: A favorite friends-to-lovers tale.

7. Sandglass: Deservedly the drama of the decade, possibly the century.

8. Moonlight Drawn By Clouds: Puppy love packs an unexpectedly emotional punch.

9. You From Another Star: No one’s immune to Chun Song-yi’s charms.

10. The Lonely Shining Goblin: Flawed, but if you’re in the mood for melancholy…

chickachunga

My favorites are relatively recent except for a few oldies in the mix. I generally gravitate towards human and/or dark dramas with deft writing; eye candy isn’t even a requirement for me anymore! Perhaps because of my quarterlife crisis, I have a preference for pathos over sunshine and rainbows.

1. Misaeng: Jang Geu-rae got me TOO well.

2. Signal: The two operative words will always be “must” and “watch.”

3. I Hear Your Voice: I finally understood that the noona romance hype is real.

4. This Week, My Wife Will Have an Affair: Writing and directing perfection.

5. The Producers: Behind the scenes drama never ceases to amuse me.

6. Dear My Friends: Aging is sobering, but there’s comfort in its universality.

7. Answer Me 1988: Warmed my heart like a mother’s home cooked meal.

8. Memory: Guaranteed inducer of catharsis. Didn’t mind crying in every episode.

9. Stairway to Heaven: My full-blown obsession with this one lasted many years.

10. Autumn Fairy Tale: Three beautiful actors + tear-jerking story = smitten K-drama neophyte, aged nine.

CandidClown

In the spirit of the Top Ten Countdown, I’ve divided my favorite dramas into ten categories. Granted, my selections may not be the best examples of their groupings, but when I’m in the mood for a certain type of show, these are my go-to choices.

1. Coffee Prince (Gender Bender): Proof that love is blind whether you’re man, woman, or alien.

2. Witch’s Romance (Noona Romance): The end all of noona romances. Plus, Park Seo-joon…

3. Healer (Action): Cheeky hero, plucky heroine, clever story, and beautiful action scenes.

4. I Hear Your Voice (Supernatural Twist): Adorable puppy love, and one of my favorite villains.

5. Descended From the Sun (Bromance): The main leads actually get out-chemistry-ed by the male leads.

6. Arang and the Magistrate (Fusion Sageuk): Awesome world-building and character development. And Lee Jun-ki is preeetty.

7. Queen In-hyun’s Man (Time Travel): An almost perfect show that redefines “long-distance relationship.”

8. Delightful Girl Chun-hyang (Old School): So, not that old school, but it’s the oldest of my favorites.

9. Secret (Melodrama): I watched, I cried, I angsted — rinse, repeat.

10. Scent of a Woman (Chemistry): Ignore the plot and just watch for any Tango scene.

lovepark

I love dramas with memorable characters which is why I probably favor shows with an ensemble cast or scene-stealing side characters. Effortless rapport between characters is the essential element of a good show for me.

1. Mixed-up Investigative Agency: Wacky, mysterious, and utterly brilliant.

2. Jejoongwon: The quintessential story of a remarkable underdog.

3. The Chaser: The monologues are pure gold.

4. Giant: Epic.

5. Signal: Riveting and suspenseful.

6. Queen’s Classroom: A thoughtful and sophisticated depiction of youth and school.

7. Kyung-sook, Kyung-sook’s Father: Four masterfully crafted and darkly funny episodes.

8. Bad Family: The perfect balance of outrageous comedy and family love.

9. Answer Me 1988: A nostalgic tale about family and friends that transcends time.

10. Resurrection: Dark, intricate, and an exemplar in its genre.

tineybeanie

Some dramas come and go, but these have stayed in my heart. I gravitate toward them because they’ve withstood the test of time, and I’m continually surprised by how much I enjoy them even after multiple rewatches.

1. Jumong: Best ruler origin story ever.

2. Hwang Jin-yi: Why I still try Jang Geun-seok dramas, despite all the flops.

3. Empress Ki: No man stands in the way of this female badass.

4. Full House: Celebrity’s contract marriage and Rain’s cute jealousy face. I’m sold.

5. Stairway to Heaven: Heartbreaking in the most painfully addicting way.

6. Ojakkyo Brothers: Warming like piping hot duck soup on a snowy day.

7. My Daughter Seo-young: Family drama where every subplot is heartfelt and rewarding.

8. Family’s Honor: I love you because you love a dead man – the catch-22 hurts so good.

9. Nice Guy: Ultimate prickly ice princess story, with a twist of revenge.

10. The King 2 Hearts: You can never have too much Ha Ji-won in your life.

mary

I’m surprised (and kinda embarrassed) that my favorites are nowhere near my Top 10 Objectively Best K-dramas list. Looking at it, I seem to love shows with female characters that I either support, adore, or am in awe of.

1. Delightful Girl Chun-hyang: Still waiting for my Chun-hyang ♥ Mong-ryong reunion, Drama Gods…

2. Splish Splash Love: Only Algebra can make Sejong fall in love.

3. Prosecutor Princess: No frying pans of badassery, but Unni learns lawyering while staying fabulous.

4. Sungkyunkwan Scandal: Geol-oh’s hero hiccups + Yoon-shik/hee’s nerdery = Move over, Titanic.

5. My Girl: Jun-ki’s hair is the least funniest thing in this show, and that’s saying something.

6. Dream High: Adorable Robot Suzy as a plot point. What’s not to love?

7. Heartless City: Everyone’s here for the bromance, sismance, and sexy gang war music.

8. W—Two Worlds: Really shocking and amazing start. I don’t regret watching it.

9. Tree With Deep Roots: I didn’t know a language’s history can be this bloody (awesome).

10. Age of Youth: My subconscious was split into five and they became roommates.

SailorJumun

Happy big one-oh, Dramabeans! Now with dramas, I tend to gravitate towards the outrageously weird (fantasy, slapstick, etc.). But as I get older, the slice-of-life dramas sneak their way into my heart and, inevitably, my favorites list. So yeah, I like weird. With the occasional sprinkle of ordinary.

1. My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho: This will never be dethroned from its #1 spot. Never.

2. I Hear Your Voice: Redefined love for me. OTP moments still leave me breathless.

3. You From Another Star: Magic. Reminded me why I’m so obsessed with fairy tales.

4. Flower Boy Ramyun Shop: So silly, loud, and downright wild. In other words, awesome.

5. Coffee Prince: The Disney of dramas – it’s just a classic.

6. School 2013: My go-to comfort show. It’s like a nice angsty hug.

7. Pinocchio: Can never have enough Lee Jong-seok. Or writer Park Hye-ryun.

8. Healer: Jumped on this bandwagon super late, but I jumped nonetheless.

9. Brilliant Legacy: An old guilty pleasure for me and my mom.

10. Age of Youth: My soul mate in drama form. ♥

HappilyEverAfter

When I watch a drama, I’m usually in it for the comedic hijinks and heart-fluttering romances, but sometimes I can’t help but factor in other elements like a heart-wrenching bromance or a terrifying villain. Therefore, my list is organized according to “the feels when” (TFW):

1. School 2013: TFW you realize your bro hated you because he loved you.

2. I Hear Your Voice: TFW your drenched puppy is so happy to see you that nothing else matters to him.

3. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju: TFW your boyfriend KNOWS he’s making your heart skip beats.

4. Protect the Boss: TFW “villains” are so hilariously ineffective that it’s endearing by the end.

5. You From Another Star: TFW Chun Song-yi brings out her rap game.

6. Master’s Sun: TFW skinship is the solution to your problems.

7. Descended From the Sun: TFW your boyfriend is a smart-talker but terrible liar.

8. You’re Beautiful: TFW you’re an ex-nun living with cute boys.

9. Sungkyunkwan Scandal: TFW your bro tries to stop you from getting yourself killed.

10. Liar Game: TFW you’re not sure who to trust in this world anymore.

murasakimi

I’m surprised to find a number of new dramas made their way onto my top ten list, but there’s no denying that the level of quality coming out of dramaland in recent years keeps surpassing expectations. For me, it’s about what characters stay in my mind and steal my heart.

1. Misaeng: Chief Oh is my favorite character of all time.

2. My Name is Kim Sam-soon: Oh wait, maybe Sam-soon?

3. Answer Me 1988: Crap, definitely Choi Taek.

4. Signal: Okay, let’s be honest, Lee Jae-han has his own list.

5. My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho: But… then what about meat-loving Mi-ho?

6. Oh My Ghostess: Kang Chef would never stand for this kind of indecisiveness!

7. Coffee Prince: Then again, Han-gyul would totally sympathize.

8. Autumn Fairy Tale: Look, Eun-suh had some real dilemmas, you’re being a baby.

9. My Girl: I know, let’s just drink away the confusion like Yoo-rin.

10. Queen Seon-deok: I meant to say, Mishil is the greatest ever… *gulp*

Laica

My favorite dramas have the kind of writing and acting that bring characters to life, so their journeys feel like my own. These shows follow their characters as they grow into their true selves, or fall in love with their perfect other halves—or both—and live on in my imagination to this day.

1. Misaeng: Has there ever been a more insightful, heartbreaking, glorious exploration of the human condition?

2. Signal: It felt like I didn’t breathe for sixteen episodes, and when it was over I wanted to do it again.

3. Coffee Prince: You never forget your first (drama) love—especially if his name is Choi Han-kyul.

4. City Hall: An intelligent, realistic love story between adults that’s also swooningly romantic.

5. Scandal: A Shocking and Wrongful Incident: A brilliant hybrid of revenge thriller and family melodrama.

6. Can You Hear My Heart: This family shattered my heart and put it together again, bursting with even more love.

7. Alone in Love: The various ways people love each other, and how to mend a broken heart.

8. Que Sera, Sera: A twisted, emotional love story that felt almost too real and vulnerable.

9. Shut Up: Flower Boy Band: Best coming-of-age music drama ever. Ever.

10. Tamra the Island: Park Kyu’s epic transformation is forever engraved on my heart.

TeriYaki

Secondary relationships are what make a drama particularly memorable in my book, adding extra layers that give me much to appreciate long after the drama concludes. Great performances from a talented cast are a given, but it’s those special connections that give my favorites a significant edge.

1. You From Another Star: Funny and heartwarming.

2. Pinocchio: The dads hold a special place in my heart.

3. High School King of Savvy: A grandpa and his loving grandson.

4. Answer Me 1988: The veteran actors who played the parents.

5. Page Turner: Short but sweet!

6. I Remember You: Bittersweet bromance.

7. You’re Beautiful: So much angst!

8. Dear My Friends: Deeply talented cast.

9. Sassy Go Go: The sweetest triangle.

10. Scent of a Woman: Love this mother and daughter.

I haven't watched nearly as many dramas as most of you so I'm choosing from a more limited selection. I prefer romantic comedies and happy endings and I also support the shows of my JYJ boys. These are all dramas I have or would watch again. My favorites are:
Sungkyunkwan Scandal (I fell in love with Moon Jae Shin)
Protect the Boss (handsome Jaejoong)
School 2013
Shut Up Flower Boy Band
Pinocchio
Kill me, Heal me (raised my spirits while I was in the hospital recovering from pneumonia)
Descendants of the Sun (my husband loved this one)
Rooftop Prince (remember the scene in the elevator?)
W
Goblin

Honorable mentions to Monstar, You from Another Star, Empress Ki, She Was Pretty, Girl Who Sees Smells. And I, of course, must credit the dramas that got me started in this world: Faith and Boys Over Flowers.

2. Misaeng
3. The Devil
4. Healer
5. Heartless City
6. Gaksital
7. Liar Game

Jung Ha-Yeon is the only sageuk writer that would make me watch his dramas without subs. He is so good.

I really need to get back to The Devil one of these days. It was one of the first thrillers I checked out, but I haven't gotten back to it yet. Loved what I saw of it though.

I don't know how any of you were able to narrow it down to only 10! I tried repeatedly, and still ended up with 23! I guess to be good writers, like Dramabeans' staff, you have to be good editors too.

Despite my long list of favorites that have left a warm place in my heart, I must admit that I have only returned to rewatch two: Coffee Prince, my first, and forever favorite Kdrama, and The Greatest Love, which never fails to put a smile on my face. The other 21 have already been mentioned in lists above

The best thing about this Top 10 list is that I now realize there are a lot more dramas that I need to see soon!

4. Answer me 1988
5. I remember you

Ah! W was so so good but then later it wasn't. I loved My GF is a gumiho and it might actually replace my Marriage Not Dating if I watch it again.
God's Gift was quite good, and I didn't mind the end too much (maybe because after hearing such bad things abt the ending, I was imagining sth even sadder, so bad expectations actually helped me appreciate the show more) :)

I agree with you, ObsessedMuch! I Remember You is really a hidden gem. I'm happy and sad about it.

Here are my top 9 in no particular order cause that's almost impossible:

1. Tree with Deep Roots - Everything about this show was on POINT, the acting, the costumes, the mystery, the plot, writing...even the romance. Though I wish the ending was slightly different, but still love it.

2. Chuno - It's action packed!! Hot guys wielding swords -- jang hyuk doing martial arts. What's there not to love?

3. Reply 1997 - This was when I discovered Seo In Guk. Everyone on this show did very well and it was a great coming of age story. Everyone can relate to being in high school and fangirling over boy bands *cough* N'Sync *cough*...every character is relatable

4. Fated do Love You - This is the ONLY show that has ever made me laugh, cry, get upset with a character, and root for the main characters so hard. I don't know what it is about this show, I just love it.

5. Weightlifting Fairy BookJoo - This show is like a cold ice cream sundae during summer. It's such an easy and cute story and there's really no stupid character. The leads have the most normal relationship as it gets to real life. It was just so welcoming.

6. My Love from Another Star - Only because of its crazy shenanigans!

7. Healer - no words for this one. Just addicting!

8. Signal - Cause, come on. ?

9. I Remember You - Seo In Guk. And because it's totally different from your everyday kdrama and every character gave me the chills.

There's still A LOT more shows I need to watch, but I am in no hurry....just enjoying one at a time.

I love this Top 10 list! I guess I am like awcoconuts - - What 10 dramas would I'd like to bring with me if I'd ever be stuck somewhere. And I think I've re-watched each of these more than 5 times. In no particular order:

*FULL HOUSE
*MY GIRL
- The reasons why I fell in love with Kdrama and I never regretted each time.

*WEIGHTLIFTING FAIRY KIM BOK JOO
*ANSWER ME/REPLY 1997
* 1% OF SOMETHING (2016)
- that overall feeling of satisfaction and contentment EVERY SINGLE TIME I've re-watched it.

*W-TWO WORLDS
-may not be perfect but it opened up a whole new kdramaland for me.

*SPLISH SPLASH LOVE
*MY NAME IS KIM SAM SOON
*OH MY VENUS
- ah, all that feels and giddiness I felt

*THIS WEEK MY WIFE IS HAVING AN AFFAIR
- had low expectations when I started it, totally surprised & amazed me.

Now off to continue reading other Beanies' top ten, and maybe I'll find another treasure

Shamefully, my favorites are mostly no drama dramas. Dramas that don't take themselves all that seriously and are often terribly flawed but are easy to watch and just enjoy--truly a guilty pleasure.

1. City Hunter
2. The Producers
3. Healer
4. A Gentleman's Dignity
5. Descendants of the Sun
6. The Accidental Couple
7. Cheo Yong
8. Miss Korea

I love these lists - now there are several more I have to watch. After starting dramas with Pasta in 2012 and watching over 225, my all-time favorite top ten are:

1) Miseang - simply unbelievable the way it crawled into my heart and still resonates. I wish I could watch it for the first time all over again.
2) Signal - nearly knocked Miseang off its perch. So perfect in every way.
3) La Dolce Vita - stunned me so hard I ran crying from my house at midnight, blown away by the power of the story. Had to get under the night sky and hug a tree to regain my bearings.
4) Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo - how did this little drama blast its way into my venerable top ten? Simply the best love story ever. EVER.
5) Gaksital - EPIC doesn't even begin. It told me about a history that made me fall in love with Korea.
6) Tree with Deep Roots - Loved it so much I fell in love with Great King Sejong and cried at his statue when I went to Seoul in early 2015.
7) Jealousy Incarnate - the most I've ever laughed in a drama. It's Jo Jung-Seok all the way. What a gift he has!
8) Healer - perfection to watch and to bond with HealerBeanies all over the world. The BEST community watch on DramaBeans I've ever experienced.
9) Marriage Contract - the power of the love story and the joy I experienced in watching someone I had no idea could act really BLOW me out of the water with her acting. Yes, it's you, Uee!
10) Faith - This one hit all my feels for the King Arthur knights I loved in my girlhood. Another one I wish I could experience for the first time all over again. Plus - best Lee Min Ho hair EVER.

I have too many favorite dramas. Choosing only 10 is kind of hard. I'm also behind on 2016 dramas, so there's that... but here's my list anyway!

1. Healer - I never thought any Kdrama would top Coffee Prince for me. I was proven wrong.

2. Coffee Prince - I was so obsessed with this drama when it came out. And it never loses its magic no matter how many times I rewatch it.

3. Sungkyunkwan Scandal - So much fun! So many great characters. I rewatch this one almost every year.

4. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho - Hong Sisters best drama, imo.

5. Brilliant Legacy/Shining Inheritance - This one is another one I never get tired of rewatching. I love it so much.

6. Warrior Baek Dong Soo - Awesome music, action scenes, and probably my favorite bromance ever.

7. Arang and the Magistrate - This drama made me fall in love with Lee Jun Ki. Love the fantasy elements and the world the writer built in this drama. It's a shame how underrated it was when it aired.

8. The Princess' Man - Beautiful.

9. Empress Ki - I'm still having withdrawals from this drama even though years have passed. And I will forever ship Seung Nyang with Tal Tal.

10. I Hear Your Voice - This wins the Noona romances for me (so far).

You all are awesome! Thanks for sharing your top 10 lists and being a part of my life for the last 10 years. :D

There are so many good ones, I'd love to have a top 10 in every genre of Korean Dramas. I mean, you almost have to in order to cover all the great shows. I was so happy to see some oldies but goodies that drew me into the drama world, like My Lovely Kim Sam Soon, City Hall (doesn't get a lot of mentions), Brilliant Legacy (I rewatch that, too, and I won't be ashamed!), Coffee Prince (first one I stayed up all night bingeing), My Sassy Girl...good times, good times. I'm looking forward to adding even more to my list this year!

I'd like to list mine so I can look back and hopefully add more in the future! C:

1. Dae Jang Geum - Girl power! At a time period when it was seemingly impossible.... Romance, family, angst, revenge all packed into one long drama I'd watch again and again.
2. My Girlfriend is Gumiho - cute, angsty romance with a magical twist and a cute, hapless boyfriend whose singing voice is just on point
3. Signal - nail-biting, heart-touching thriller, mystery with good old-timey vibes.
4. Answer Me 1997 - the couple I'd totally ship outside the drama. The relationship I want to mirror, from true friends to true love.
5. Full House - a good Ole housemate situation with a marriage contract. Song hyekyo is just too cute with her poodle hair, and Rain with his twinkley eyed grin.
6. Queen Inhyun's Man - just a sweet drama you'd go awwwww~ at every time you see the couple together. So much sacrifice to be together in the end
7. Shopping King Louis - I was just soooo happy from beginning to end. Fluffy, cute, innocent, giggly. I'm satisfied with unicorns and cotton candy clouds.
8. Nice Guy - so dark. A good Monte Cristo drama with a very handsome cast.
9. Secret Garden - beautiful songs, beautiful ppl, funny premise and a body-swap gender-reversal trope that just never gets old
10. Liar Game - twisted, nerve wracking, fun-to-watch, esp with such a dependably evil villain. Muahaha

(11. Fated to Love You - the end got a bit dull, but man, Idk what it is about this drama.... I just loved the quirky charcters, emotional beats and dal-pengi~~ I appreciated Korean's take on the Taiwanese drama)

All these dramas had wonderfully, catchy OSTs.

The closest to my list has got to be Lollypip's and I have to say that the dramas she recapped are also the ones I mostly watched. I jumped on the kdrama bandwagon pretty late so I am not familiar with many of the shows mentioned.

Sharing my list (in no particular order) just so I can get it out of my system.

Ojakgyo Brothers (my first weekend drama)
Nine (My first TVN drama)
Misaeng (My first office drama)
Bad Guys (My first OCN drama)
WFKBJ (Bok Joon Hyung.. nuff said)
My Girl (My first ever kdrama)
Coffee Prince (My first crossdressing kdrama)
Arang and the Magistrate (The first sageuk drama I actually finished watching)
Master's Sun (My first ghostly kdrama)

Might as well add mine for the reading.

I’ve only watched around 37 dramas total, including the ones I haven’t finished yet or are airing, so I don’t feel like I’m overly qualified to make this list when there are so many yet to see (the to watch list is sitting around 50) and I’ve only been watching for two years. In fact, I can’t even narrow it down to ten…
However, so far, these are the ones that I could rave about. For a while. If you let me. And I’m so fussy. I’m picky. I tear these things to shreds. I tear anything that has a remote semblance of writing structure to shreds. My friends hate me. What makes a good drama for me is dependent on a lot of things, a main one being if it can make me forget I’m watching a constructed piece of art. Which, for the record, most of these haven’t done, just almost…

1. Healer.
I cannot put why I love this so much into one sentence. I can’t. Don’t make me.

2. Shut Up: Flower Boy Band.
I want to gif Ji Hyuk breaking that bottle with his bare hand.

3. You From Another Star.
It made me cry. And I NEVER cry in film. Therefore, it goes on the list.

4. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Ju.
First drama in a while that had me obsessing over it. It's beautiful.

5. Answer Me ‘97.
Eun Ji + Seo In Guk + many more incoherent reasons I can’t fit into this space.

6. Page Turner.
Like drinking fantastic from shot glass.

7. Pinocchio.
It’s on here for the sole reason that it got me into this mess in the first place.

Nothing else gets on the list yet because I had to look up my Drama Master List to see what else I rated 4 stars and above, and that probably means they aren’t good enough to make it… and there are too many of them to cut down to ten… hehe

PS. This post is getting bookmarked so I can add even MORE dramas to my To Watch List... you're all amazing, danke.

Damn this post is all kinds of awesome!

By including everyone, we can clearly see how much awesome content dramaland keeps offering year after year! And how some become classics and some become underdog favorites! And the dramas that kick started hallyu wave to each person!

My top 10 - chronologically. Many dramas come and go, make me fall in love, but only few once in a while - gets added to that list of forever. And the ones that make me fall into kdramas more. The ones that make me feel I should never give up dramas - because they have all been safe haven and my own oasis now and then !

1) Full House - damn, I knew nothing of kdrama clichés and I was completely engrossed. Oh, the poor innocent me! Fell in love with love !

2) my girlfriend is a gumiho - I cried so much through the drama. I didn't know whether she would be back! Coming back home to see this drama, was like coming home to a puppy that unconditionally loves me!

3) city hunter - it was not like I wasn't a addict before, but this drama made me a full blown junkie. The week waiting to know whether Kim Na Na was alive was my longest kdrama week ever!

4) dream high - of music, song, school, friendship and love! I didn't know a single thing about kpop nor did I get any meta jokes, but this drama ran away with my heart!

5) shut up flower boy band - pure heart. The open chat in final episode between sung joon and L killed me. I didn't know I was holding my breath so much for them to be together. To talk to each other. It opened my eyes on how much we don't know about our friends at end of the day.

6) school 2013 - I wanted their happiness like I needed air. I felt their pain, hurt, everything - so acutely. That I can't imagine how they will ever become happy again. And they did, at end. And all was right again in this world. I can leave them to live and they will be alright!

7) I hear your voice - The OTP moments that make me squee to the moon and back! With a dash of thriller and a scary villain.

8) the princess man - epic, badass, all kinds of awesome. The most perfect sageuk I have seen. Every sageuk, I keep comparing it to this - I can't stop it!

9) Healer - No words. I needed this drama at that time of my life. I needed Dramabeans. I needed the OTP moments. The soundtrack. The uncle. The ahjumma. I needed every bit of this drama.

10) reply 1988 - out of all reply series, this is one that resonated most with me. Joint families with relatives living in same street was a thing in my childhood. It twisted my heart painfully and left a bittersweet taste. And also Jung Hwan, no one knew. After all this time, I can live with fact that he didn't get the girl but it kills me that no one knew how much he loved her! How much he did for her! It was only in his mind and heart - and it has gone, disappeared forever. Into oblivion. Like all unrequited love do.

It's too hard for a top ten list. So, my list is basically dramas that I've found myself watching more than once:

A Wife's Credential
La Dolce Vita
Reply, 1988
Misaeng
Dae Jang Geum
Healer
Descended From the Sun
Queen's Classroom
Faith (Director's cut)
Autumn Tale

In general, I enjoy dramas that show some creativity in the writing. As this blog has stated more than once, the basic themes of the dramas are nothing new. It is the creativity in presentation and execution that makes the difference to a drama.

4) 49 Days (had predictable twist but beautiful messages)
5) Kill Me Heal Me (very original story, nicely written twists)
6) Nine : Nine Times Time Travel (the best time travel drama I've ever watched)
7) The Greatest Love (the best rom com I've ever watched)
8) Thank You (deep message, enlightening and hyper realistic)
9) Beautiful Mind (a good adaptation of the novel Frankenstein)
10) The King 2 Hearts (my favorite drama couple, optimistic messages. I really hope North Korea and South Korea reunite one day)

Here's my list!

1. Six Flying Dragons: I've watched this so many times and it still gives me goosebumps, makes me cry, and I discover new things every watch.

2. Baker King Kim Takgu: The first kdrama that made me feel so glad I watch kdrama.

3. Deep Rooted Tree: This made me appreciate Hangul so much more. King Sejong the Great is the best king ever!

4. Signal: Could have easily topped the list if only it had a better ending.

5. Yoona's Street: Very realistic and informative. Different from any kdrama I've seen.

6. Reply 1997: My go to drama when I have nothing to watch. Never grows old.

7. You Who Rolled in Unexpectedly: Every character was fleshed out and relatable. It's like a mini-society reflected in one big family.

8. Flowers for My Life: A very rare gem in dramaland. Subtle yet deep. Everybody needs to watch this.

9. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bokjoo: Had the best OTP. A drama for the youth.

10. Marriage Contract: Same story, different feelings. Cried rivers of tears because of this one.

Whew. That was hard. I don't have good memory but these are the ones that stick.

how is there so many of you? do you clone each other in secret?

well, the list always changes. My top 10 is based on how often I refer to the drama and the characters in my posts and speech.

1. I Remember You. There is still nothing that gets into my heart more than these broken brothers. I think I haven´t managed to get through a thread here without mentioning it.
2. Kill Me, Heal Me - These 7 oddballs carved themselves into our brains so deep, that we keep coming back to them. When I see a red coat - "It´s Shin Se Gi!" When I hear someone say "Peace!" or "Oppaaa!" - Ahn Yo Na. And I still stand on the peer of the Seaplane Harbour waiting for Perry Park (I feel like Estragon! Perry will never come, right? But maybe he will? Will you wait with me?)
3. 38 Task Force. Brains! People actually plan and coordinate their actions, they don´t just run in a random directions while grabbing wrists! The hero actually has a realistic end (though I am still working on a plan to break Jung Do out of jail.) the most unpredictable drama with the most unlikely bromance, a true successor to Robin Hood and my other favorite heroes of the people.
4. Two Weeks - that kiddo and Teacher. Who needs romance, when you have this? If you get disappointed in the irrational manifestations of love in other dramas, this is your stronghold.
5. You Are Beautiful - this drama and Geunsukkie saved me from horrible depression where I thought there is no way to ever laugh and smile again. So I keep thanking them. I am faithful that way, I never forget.
6. I Hear Your Voice. whenever i need to compare dramas based on the writing and how gripping they are, I mention how involved I got with these characters´ fate. I havent been so worried and scared for anyone.
7. City Hunter - when I need to give evaluation to an antihero: does he measure up to Bad Daddy? when I think of Prosecutor.... ok, then my mind just goes blank and I am not able to think, but.... yeah.

I must go to work, I´ll write 3 more when I have time

8. Shut Up Flower Boy Band. This drama just did everything right. except not being a real band that has concerts and CDs. But I can forgive that... in 12 years or so.
9. Faith. if it wasn´t one of the best why would I keep rewatching this? it is a little irrational, but the King & Queen, the Woodalchi and the pitiful main villain are just so lovable, the heroine has sass and Lee Min Ho suits his character. Has anyone seen Ki Chul btw, I have a present for him though I think he might be in the future.
10. I wanted to put Liar Game here, BUT.... they betrayed us. They promised a part 2 and I am still waiting. So I will give the last place in my Top 10 (for now) to Gaksital.

Smile, You!! <3 --- I loved that drama! So happy it's being mentioned here. It was the first 40-something ep. family drama I watched and is probably still my favorite family drama to this day.

Dang, ranking my favorites is a lot harder than I thought. So I'm going to cheat and not rank them in any particular order (or stick to just 10).

- Reply 1997 --- as a 90's baby, this one hit me the right spot! I'd recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat as almost everyone can relate to it but most especially to people my age as the nostalgia adds a lot to the fun factor.
- The King 2 Hearts --- loved everything about this, the leads, the side characters, Earnest Bot, the OST <3
- Prosecutor Princess --- another one of my faves and I'm happy Mary (and a few other people here) have this on their list. It reminds me of Legally Blonde but deeper and darker.
- I Hear Your Voice --- not a big fan of noona romances but the story just worked perfectly here. Loved Lee Bo Young's character and there was never a boring moment here for me.
- In Time With You --- this is a Taiwanese drama so maybe it doesn't count but I just loved this a lot, so much so that I was really disappointed the remake w/ Ha Ji Won-Lee Jin Wook never even came remotely close to the original.
- Smile, You --- need I say more? Lee Min Jung + Jung Kyung Ho were really cute here!
- Autumn in My Heart / Full House / Wonderful Life / Only You --- oldies but goodies. The first few dramas I watched and will always have a special place in my K-drama heart.
- Worlds Within --- one of those lesser known gems. Not your typical drama. Interesting and introspective.
- Coffee House --- another underrated drama. You don't really known who the lead will end up with until the last few eps but you're so happy he ends up with the one you were rooting for (yet didn't think would happen as it just doesn't typically happen in K-dramas). Park Si Yeon <333
- This Week, My Wife Will Have An Affair --- probably my favorite drama of 2016. Didn't think I would love it as much as I did.
- Marriage Not Dating --- Jang Mi? Jang Miii?
- City Hunter --- not usually a fan of Lee Minho but this was his best work, IMO. Thrilling, fast-paced, good OST, still so sad Mr. Prosecutor died. :'(
- Arang & The Magistrate --- Arang and Sato! <3
- Page Turner --- uplifting, inspiring, love the leads, just purely good (kind of wish it were a full-length drama, tbh.)
- King of Dramas --- like others have said, "What Would Anthony Do?" This drama is a HOOT!
- Miss Korea --- I love a good underdog story. Waikiki~

Currently Watching: History of a Salaryman --- Why can't I be like Yeochi?

Dramas I probably have to watch: The Princess' Man, Weightlifting Fairy, Misaeng, Nine, Story of a Man

1. Autumn's fairy tale - This drama started it all for me. I love it til now. Won Bin and SSH in their hey days and SHK is ever so beautiful even when she's dying.
2. Delightful girl Chun hyang - I miss Jae Hee soooo much. Meet cute and awesome ending? Yes for both!
3. Attic Cat - I find Kim Rae Won awesome as an actor and Lee Hyun Woo, charming lol. I love love love the ending. That proposal in the attic, ooooh what would I give to get one hahaha
4. The Greatest Love - Obviously, I love my romcoms. I am such a fan of the doctor (yes, you Yoon Kye Sang) and their love triangle. All the hijinks and how CSW found out early that it might be bc of the song. Plus the song, it's soooo cute!
5. Jang Geum - This is a classic. Funny, witty, well acted. Everything is here in this drama.
6. Oh My Lady - I'm a fan of Chae Rim ever since and I'm an ELF sooo me loves my Siwon here plus their daughters are both cute lol. Simple story yet very charming and endearing.
7. Answer me 1988 - I often wait for a drama to finish and this is one of the raries that I followed right on. Great family stories. All characters are interesting in their own way.
8. Wedding - Jang Nara is always on her A game when it comes to romcom. This drama got serious quite early but I love it. Super love the ending.
9. Woman who wants to marry - Noona romance - check. Story of friendship - check. Funny and interesting supporting characters - check.
10. Full House - Funny and charming. A lot has been said about this drama and who doesn't know it really.
Special mention all the LMH dramas that sustained my love for KDrama these past several years.
Other special mention - Scent of a woman, My name is Kim sam soon, Foxy lady, The producers, Master's Sun, Spring waltz
I'd just say all of them are really dear to me and the feels I had when I watched them the first time is what I often look for when I'm trying a new drama.
I thought it would be a breeze as it's been a while when I got really hooked in a drama. Too late to realize that I still have a lot of dramas special to me it's that difficult to select just 10.

Oooh..so hard to pick 10...
1. I Can Hear Your Voice--this is where Lee Jong Suk won me over as an actor...and I love ESP stories. I watched the last two episodes of this one on Korean time when I understood almost no Korean and the live stream paused every three seconds, because I found the story gripping to the end, and I couldn't wait the scant hours it would take to upload to a regular viewing site.
2.Weightlifting Fairy--Story, acting, filming didn't flag through to the end. No need to prop up the romantic suspense with a love triangle. Great for rewatching.
3. Healer--Ajumma! Many-faced Park Bong-Su, with his underdeveloped tender side and his professional Parkor-ninja-spy side. Strong and feisty Chae Young-Shin who knows her own mind and turns down a cool guy to be loyal to same cool guy who she knows as a different persona.
4. School 2013--I'm a sucker for romance, but this one doesn't need one to make me care about the fate of the characters. This one makes me want to be better myself.
5. Still, Marry Me--Kim Bum's character's little gestures of love as a verb. It's a rewatch, and a reminder to love the one you love.
6. Secret Garden--I would totally avoid Kim Joo Won in real life, but in dramaland, swoon at his unswerving loyalty to his soulmate (even when he's trying to fight his own loyalty). This one made me a Ha Ji Won fan too. She's so cool!
7. King, 2 Hearts--Ha Ji Won, Lee Seung Gi, Cho Jung Seok, Lee Yoon Ji! The second pairing is unforgettable. The gymnastics and heartrending despair when he realizes how much he loves her in the prison escape was so well-executed on many levels. The final standoff with "I'll be right after you.."
8. Faith--The second drama I watched after Boys Over Flowers, and my first dip into Goryeo. Sword fighting, a modern heroine, magic, Aunt Choi, Lee Min Ho!
9. W-Two Worlds--Surprise me drama! And keep doing so (until the final episode, which just needs a rewrite). Take me on all sorts of crazy twists and turns! And of course, Lee Jong Suk.
10. Master's Sun--Silly looking horror-ghosts aside, the concrete walled shelter turns into a loving ghost, "You do glow. I love you." She promised to help the other ghosts if she woke from her coma. And Seo In-Guk as the second pairing, with his black whiskered whale (what does he call Tae Yi-Ryung?)

Ahh. I love asking people to name their top 5 dramas and you are spoiling me by allowing me 10! It's so exciting to read what everyone's top dramas are. I want to join!! I find myself tending most to rom-coms with feels over danger or melo. But some may have snuck in.

1) Reply 1997 - it's like my "Friends" of Korean dramas. I'll rewatch it anytime, anyplace.
2) Secret Garden - my first drama love Hyun Bin
3) Goong - I wish I had Chae Shin's pluckiness
4) Coffee Prince - classic. Period.
5) Healer - Ji Chang Wook + Bong Soo and ahjumma + kimbap
6) Sungkyunkwan Scandal - YAI and SJK = ultimate bromance of all time. Just watch for that.
7) Moonlight Drawn By Clouds - I didn't get Park Bo Gum obsession until this. Yeah now I totally get it.
8) Goblin - Goblin + Reaper, I lied, this might be the ultimate bromance. Just watch for that as well
9) My Girl - osts are still stuck in my head
10) Liar Game

Omg that 9th and 10th ones were so hard!! It felt almost like life and death to choose cause I remember liking a couple but idk if I remember loving them. Like SUFBB I didn't remember if I loved it or was swayed by other people's list. I just remember liking the music a lot!! I'm surprised some of who I would say are my favorite actors and actresses are not represented in this list either. Hmm something had to make me love them though?

7.My love from the star - uggggghhh Song Yi

8.My Princess - A RomCom fairytale

9.Love in the Moonlight- just how Park Bo Gum cries at KBS Drama awards.. The feels again

Daesang: Kim Sam Soon : never fail to make us laugh.
Special Mention: Uncontrollably Fond: just to hurt everyone but with their likable OSTs
These are the dramas I watched every now and then. I guess that means a thing. Btw if you are interested for my korean drama artworks just visit my ig: @wongskiee

Oi, this is hard! As for me, my top 10 relies much more on how it made me feel and on how much I related to the characters. They're also the ones I can keep re-watching. If you'll notice, I tend to stay away from melodramas, especially the terminal ones.

Coffee Prince
Signal
Reply 1994
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
This Week My Wife Will Have an Affair
Sungkyungkwan Scandal
Oh Hae Young Again
Jealousy Incarnate
My Girlfriend is a Gumiho
Age of Youth

Honorable mentions (or in other words, I can't keep it under 10 so I'll cheat lol)

Gaksital
Liar Game
Arang and the Magistrate
Misaeng
Marriage Not Dating
Lovers In Paris

-- OK I really need to stop cos I can just go on and on...

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary, wishing you many more years of awesome dramas!

I'm relatively new to KDramas but I got hooked really fast. Thanks to Netflix, I was able to binge watch a lot of them.

Here are my top ten.

1. Coffee Prince - because Gong Yoo's Choi Han Kyul was pure dream. I've watched this 3 times, is that bad?
2. Pasta - my first KDrama ever, it was the drama that introduced me to the world of dramas. I'll be forever grateful to the lovely Gong Hyo Jin.
3. Fated to Love You - it became a bit drawn out in later episodes but this drama made me feel all sorts of emotions. Then of course there's Jang Hyuk and Choi Jin Hyuk.
4. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho - Did I mention Choi Jin Hyuk? He was great in this drama even though he was just the 2nd lead. I'm a total sucker for supernatural stories.
5. Goblin - Goblin ❤️ Reaper forever. I seriously love Gong Yoo. I would watch anything that has Gong Yoo in it. True story, I endured every episode of Big, that's how much I adore him.
6. My Love from the Stars - because I have a thing for aliens and impossible unattainable love.
7. Master's Sun - I love ghost and other super natural stories, the OST was beautiful, plus there's So Ji Sub, need I say more?
8. Secret Garden- the super weirdo hero meeting the kick-ass heroine then there's that hilarious body swap adventure, brilliant!
9. Roof Top Prince - Time travel + pretty flower boys? Sign me up.
10. Let's Eat - lots and lots of delicious food, hmmmn!!!

Hahhahhah... your list is the best!!! I have 2 out of your 10 on my list but I realy loved your top 5.. It's just that while I loved Seo In Guk in those shows, as an overall package other shows came closer... But if I could write top 20 the other 3 would make my list! :)

Oh and how I miss your comments from SKL threads with all the points (usually 5 points) explaining why you loved Seo In Guk so much <3

I ll be lurking in the shadows on Dramabeans, coming out every once in a while to scream about SIG until his next show.

Yes I missed reading your comments too @ObsessedMuch! Well I do have a problem whenever I want to start watching Korean dramas nowadays. Me shamelessly want Seo Inguk to be on TV all the year, yet I know how thougtless my greediness is towards Seo Inguk, and now I counting the days when my Bae will be officially off to the military. Ah my poor heart though, ???

Oh! We're on the same wavelength then! Just what I wouldnt give for a cameo though, but for now I'm satisfied myself with his songs; Bebe and Flower ???

@Super Foxy Bebe is like my go to song right now! It's so so good! Have you seen reaction videos to that song on Youtube? It's like ppl are suddenly discovering what a great singer SIG is!

1

@ObsessedMuch yes I have seen all of it, haha! I played Bebe like for gazilion(literally) since it was released and now Flower, just what Seo Inguk cant do actually? I must say I loved Flower more than Seasons of the Heart(dont get me wrong, I loved both of the songs unconditionally) but Flower just suited him like a tee. And he write the lyric and co-composed the song too, ugh I've just can't get enough of this so talented man! ???

0

Ah but hearing just his voice and not getting to see his face makes me miss him even more! Plus his voice has that melancholy feel to it which makes me sad (and more in love with him)

1

I know right? While listening to Flower, I keep wanting them to put on the MV too! What a waste of Seo Inguk gorgeous face, ??

I did love Seo In Guk in R1997 but didn´t like the drama itself that much.

I totally forgot about High School King in my list... actually I was just holding back not to overflow my list with 1 actor.

Hahahah. I know what you mean. I debated whether or not to include Savvy on my list because it had three Seo In Guk shows already. I really need to diversify my drama choices. Hahaha. None of these new trends I watch usually comes close to these In Guk dramas. So, I'll just use his military time to watch more dramas so that when he comes back, he'll just have to fight tooth and nail for dramas that are much better than the ones he has done... and that must be a very steeeeeeeep thing to do. But it has to happen. My ultimate dream is a Reply 97 phenomenon 2.0

Yet to get a Top 10 list, but here are my favourites.

1. Master's Sun: Boys Over Flowers (omg I can hear Almost Paradise playing in my head right now) was the one that got me started on KDramas, but this show was the one that got me hooked on it!

2. Answer Me 1988: I prefer shows with family and friendship taking the wheel, and I feel the need to move into this neighbourhood to join this party.

3. Sassy Go Go: It's such a cute show, that makes me squeal every time the leads do something adorable together (but poor Ji Soo though).

4. Drinking Solo: Gr8 for binge-watching when you're at home "drinking solo".

5. Weightlifting Fairy KBJ: The romance was so cute, so equal, so great.

6. Plus Nine Boys: All three romances were special in their own way, but I liked the one 29 year old one the most (the lead almost always wins the heroine, and me, over when he treats her much nicer than he treats others).

7. Age of Youth: The friendship in this show is winning.

I liked Oh My Geum Bi (the lead child actress is so so good at acting, I almost forgot it's a show I'm watching) & Dream High (it has a special place in my heart, the friendships are cute but the romance never felt believable) too BUT they aren't considered part of my TOP 10 for certain reasons, such as I didn't enjoy almost every single moment while watching it and some parts felt a bit uncalled for.

My Top 10 drama:

1. I Hear Your Voice : It gave me the right doze of everything (romance, comedy, sadness, even the suspense) for me. Park Sooha and Jang Hyesung is my favorite OTP. There is no annoying character. The most important it has very sweet and satisfying ending ever!

2. Moonlight Drawn By Clouds : Lee Yeong, the best crown prince ever. I love him teasing Raon so much, it's very sweet and cute.

3. W-Two world : The roller coaster of emotions it gave will never be forgotten. It hurt my brain and heart in a good way.

4. Pinocchio
5. Reply 1988
6. Kill Me Heal Me
7. Full House
8. Oh My Ghost
9. You're Beautiful
10. Shopping King Louis

Oops... All dramas on top 5 are Lee Jongsuk's or Park Bogum dramas. Okay...that obviously shows that I am their fan. But it's not the only reason why I really like that dramas.

I've been out of the drama-watching loop for a while now, but I do have my favorites that just can't be topped:

1. Coffee House (perfection in my eye, most underrated drama ever)
2. Gaksital (ugh, just thinking about it gives me chills; Joo Won peaked too soon with this show!)
3. Scent of a Woman (love Kim Sun-ah in this; sentimental without being overwrought)
4. Dr. Champ (simple, slice of life; I don't understand how Jung Kyeo-woon got typecasted as the rich douche in many of his dramas after this drama)
5. History of the Salaryman (the quirkiness is my favorite thing; also, cannot forget Versailles Yoo)
6. She Was Pretty (another simple, relatable drama, the most recent drama I've seen (I KNOW, so much to catch up on!))
7. The King 2 Hearts (this isn't a drama I think too much about, but when I do, I just remember being so invested in all the characters and all the emotions it rang out of me)
8. Sly and Single Again (I watched this drama at a time when I just needed something easy to watch, so it's stayed with me for just being a simple rom-com)
9. Kill Me, Heal Me (many scenes are re-watchable, and the emotions are just so damn strong in this one)
10. Spring Waltz (my first drama will always be on this list; the OST is still one of the best, the settings and the mood will always make me yearn for something I don't even know exists)
