I swear, I keep seeing this header and it sounds like another drama plot. The terrorist attack in Manchester was sad, and many young people died, but I accepted it much easier (nowadays there are news of people killing people, no matter their age, almost every day, and I felt in the last months that I sadly lost some empathy, specially because it seems we only feel it when it happens close to us. In some other countries in war, etc., young people die more regularly and we don't even think twice about it, but when it happens in the UK in a concert of a popular actress... I mean, I even read hashtags saying "prayforariana", like WTF. Please don't misunderstand me, I think that was terrible and feel sad about it and wish it wouldn't happen any more, but really, many young and old people die every day killed by others all around the world and... it's just depressing).

Ok, I went off-topic... What I wanted to say was that people die because of murders, accidents, etc., and it's sad, but when a young person is affected by a serious illness... I don't know if he smokes, drinks a lot, etc., but I feel it's so unfair. It's not the bad actions of a person, who will be punished and suffer the consequences, it's nature, and it feels completely unfair.

Hope he and people like him recover (though who knows how many unknown people his age and younger die because of cancer) and live happily as long as possible. Or at least, that they make the most of the time they have left.

If I learn sth from all of these situations, (and it's very cliché, but true) it's that I should live to the fullest because you never know what will happen the next moment. That said, sorry for bringing my sad thoughts to dramabeans, though I feel somehow better after sharing them, and I hope that those who died in Manchester had the best time of their lives listening to AG, because that would mean at least they died feeling happy.

Wow, this is such sad news. Even if they caught it early, radiation therapy is no joke. I hope he takes the time to fully recover completely before returning. I really like him as an actor, but I would rather see him take a long time off and scrap this upcoming film if it means he returns healthy.

Whoa, it seems like Uncontrollably Fond in real life. He seems very young to get this type of cancer. It sounds a lot like nasopharyngeal carcinoma, a cancer of which I'm familiar with, because I learned about it in Dental school, and the fact that two of my relatives died from it. The cancer they had manifested possibly because they are of Chinese descent from southern China -- where there are the most cases of this cancer. There is some research that says certain parts of the diet there, possibly salted fish may attribute to this cancer.

Although it's hard to say if it's environmental or genetic, since both of my relatives were born in the United States, and frankly they had a history of tobacco use. One smoked for many years, and the other smoked a pipe. The cancer showed up after they were 70 years old though, so I'm not sure if this is related in any way with what Mr. Kim has. Out of curiosity though, does anyone know if Mr. Kim has a history of tobacco use? I know a lot of Asians smoke but of course they rarely show it on camera. I suspect that would be one of the links to this cancer.

This is horrible. I wish Kim Woo Bin strength and courage during his battle.

I dreamt of Shin Min Ah last night. Unfortunately I cannot remember the details but I know she was in it and almost positive she was either a teacher or a doctor. Then I see it on Twitter and my heart dropped. Here's hoping his treatment is successful and he recovers quickly.

Hopefully his treatment goes well. Even after radiation therapy, he'll need a lot of therapy for effects from the radiation therapy. Especially since it's in the head and neck region, his swallowing and voice can be effected.

Such horrendous news! We need to all agree to never discuss that drama again!

My husband had advanced head and neck cancer(tonsils) eight years ago his treatment was rough (feeding tube,blood clots, radiation,chemo, and surgery), today he is still cancer free. Every cancer is different and you never know how the person will handle the treatment. Sometimes it's the treatment that kills you not the cancer. I say all of that to say that you can never give up.

After finishing the last episode of Unconditionally Fond I was depressed and down for a week. *SPOILER* I had to keep reminding myself that Kim Woo Bin was alive and didn't actually die of cancer, just his character did, and that KWB was healthy. Now this!!!??

ow what a scary news. Hope he heals fully. He is so young.

Sigh... I read about this news earlier today and it's so sad, but I'm relieved that he found out early enough for treatments and considering how difficult the surgery would be for his case, it's a good thing it isn't any worst. I'm thinking positive thoughts and sending it his way and am hoping for a speedy recovery and that he rests well.

I just got around to finishing Goblin and laughed so much when Grim Reaper called himself Kim Woo bin! Then I was hoping that we'd get to see him on our screens again soon.

This is sad news, I found out from my pal while on a road trip with no internet access. May he get all the rest/medical assistance he needs. Glad he has his family and gf Shin Minah by his side. Get well and your health is more important ! Kim Woo Bin hwaiting!
