Park Bo-young film Your Wedding back on track with new male lead

Better late than never! Your Wedding, a first-love melo film, was first announced back in 2015, but is only now picking back up production and preparing for filming. Park Bo-young (Strong Woman Do Bong-soon) was an early contender for the female lead, and she’s stayed with the film through its period of development limbo. On the other hand, sadly, Kang Haneul (Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo), who was announced alongside Park Bo-young in the initial reports, has since had to drop the project due to scheduling conflicts with OCN’s Bad Guys 2. An offer is out to Kim Young-kwang (Lookout) to replace Kang Haneul in Your Wedding.
This film is the latest project to feature Korea’s favorite trope ever: the first love. The plot begins with the male lead receiving an invitation to his first love’s wedding. The film will jump back and forth between the past and present, and we’ll likely get the story of why these two didn’t end up together in the long run. Judging by the plot description, it looks like Your Wedding will follow the Introduction to Architecture route, rather than any actual time-traveling by the male lead, a la Operation Proposal. Not that one is any less painful than the other, for vastly different reasons.
If Park Bo-young and Kim Young-kwang do end up co-starring in Your Wedding, it’ll be a reunion for the two actors, who worked together in Hot-Blooded Youth back in 2014. I remember enjoying that film, and while their scenes together mostly consisted of Park Bo-young cursing up a storm at Kim Young-kwang, I could see them having some really cute chemistry. Which might not be such a great thing actually, given Your Wedding’s plot. My opinion of Kim Young-kwang has gotten much higher with his recent turn in Lookout as well, so I’m not as bitter about Kang Haneul’s departure (…as I would’ve been, anyway).
Filming for Your Wedding is due to begin later this year, so we can probably expect a release date of sometime in mid-2018.

I knowwwwww........she's so short and he's so not! Even w/ 6" platforms on she'd only come up to his bellybutton. I enjoy both of them as actors. He's proving to be pretty versatile, however, it would be nice to see her play a less "cutsey" girl/woman. I know that's her shtick, but, she'll get pigeon-holed; after all, she is a grown woman, so, she should shoot for playing one.

I feel bad when the guys grab the necks of the women, it seems like they're trying to uproot their heads. It's looks terribly uncomfortable. But it also reminds me of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty who is a lot taller than average, well she used to be. She once said she had to bend one leg to be on par with a lot of her male co-stars. Lol.

@merisoo, I used to be 5' 6" now 5' 4". My mom used to be 5' 10", now 5' 7". I guess aging and maybe calcium deficiencies? I said used to because I haven't been up to date with Bollywood so I don't know if she's still that tall. I remember she would wear flats in her movies a lot because heels would really put her out of the reach of her co-stars.

I felt that way when she was going to star in Strong Woman. She had amazing chemistry with Cho Jung-Seok that I couldn't see her with anyone else. But then she went on and had amazing chemistry with Park Hyung Sik. I think she is one of those actresses who manages to have great chemistry with any of her co-actors.

why is that a scandal?
people have preferences.. some girls can also say they don't like tall guys..
And in general, people tend to get sensitive about a lot of things that does not make sense..
e.g. a person truly can have a type.. they are attracter to fair skinned more than dark complexion .. and that is not prejudice.. its a type..
people should make issues of things as these when it hurts your existence (e.g. some refuse service to you because you are fat or dark.. e.g if a club says we won't let a fat girl enter.. that should be a problem.. not what one individual's romantic or sexual preferences are..)
If i have to extrapolate, gays ad lesbians and straight people should be called out for their preferences too...

@madlily and @alasecond - yes!! his comment was blown way out of proportion and even so, has no relevance to his acting skill. He really didn't say anything so offensive and definitely wasn't even meant in a "put down" type of way. It likely takes some experience or practice in doing interviews for a person to be able to be open and real and still keep from offending the netizens. Kim Young Kwang should not be chastised for this as it is largely taken out of context.

That's the price he needs to pay in my opinion, well not only him, every other celebrity as well. Intentionally or unintentionally, he still did a joke about something so sensitive. Even it is not something really sensitive and ppl don't talk about it, one day ppl will surely talk about it. Being a celebrity / public figure, ppl will always try to find fault. Same goes to sex scandal, dating scandal and the list goes on. I don't think he is at wrong to say it because it is his own preference, but he is a celebrity and public figure, so every words come our from his mouth are count. I don't really follow his scandal, so I also don't know if he actually ask apology for it or not.
Anyway I don't trust some news and scandal, it can be half true, half not or totally not true. Sometimes media can make up/ twist the statements to attract more readers. That's why I prefer to differentiate them as a celebrity and actor. If I care more of them as a celebrity, it means I care more about their personal life, so their scandal will make me avoid their drama/movie. If I care them as an actor only, I will just appreciate their acting skill only.

In that case all gay and staight men should also be called out on having biases to sleep only with men or only with women in respective cases?
Romantic and sexual interests should be kept separate from what a true bias or prejudice can be..
If someone in office refuses to give you promotion because they don't find you attractive is a problem..
But if one man finds himself attracted to fair complexioned girl then that is his type..
A woman can decide for herself... does she want to be fit for herself, does she want to be fit for this man who wants a fit girl (nothing wrong with wanting to be with a fit girl), or can she look beyond this man and just be whatever she wants to be...
People tend to get over sensitive about a lot of things.... if people are advertising they want fair complexioned girl, then plz do not respond to them.. anyway you won't be a good fit..

Thank you for at least read my comment in Lookout ?It's true I dislike him as an actor for my own reasons, we can't force ourselves to like and we can't also force others to like our fav, and there's also no rule we cannot openly stated if we dislike or our opinion about any actor / actress. I don't think I have ever insulted him in anyway, so no need to be overly sensitive and be bothered with it. Why bother with a minority dislike him when he has many other fans who love him, right?
I think I've been very clear that my opinion in this regard is not applying to him only. And I also emphasized that I don't care any actor's scandal/private life and Kim Young Kwang is not excluded from this. Enough said.

Thank you for posting the clarification. I recall the scandal (?) blew up again during MLiOH and I haven't seen any clarification, only ppl judging him for saying that. I admit I was affected by his words too at that time but by the time his casting in Lookout was announced, I was more concerned about his acting because he can be quiet stiff sometimes. After watching him in it I kind of felt relieved because he's not bad there and I thought, maybe now ppl can forget about that one mistake and move on but here we are, still reading the same comment about him.

I secretly shipped these two on Hot Blooded Youths! She was such an awesome girl gang leader and I loved how Young-kwang stared at her with those admiring eyes....I really like the aound of this movie, I think the idea of coming to a wedding for an old crush/first love is something we'll enjoy, after all who doesn't reminisce on old memories for that one who got away....

Totally forgot they were in Hot Blooded Youth together! That was a fun movie and I loved seeing my faves be total badasse. I have to say it: the height difference! Oh my gosh, the height difference. I kinda love it, but I kinda don't because it's a big one for this couple. He's like, insanely tall and she's like, a peanut, remember? It's 'kay, though, they'll be cute together. I'm not into Kmovies as much as Kdramas, but I am just here because of KYK's name mentioned! Another project already?! I love him in Lookout, he is so good! I will miss Dohan so so much! But life goes on I guess...I always feel like us watchers are always two steps behind...for us a drama just ended, for the actors, they already have or are already working on their next project.
He really was amazing in Lookout, I would love to check out his next project, maybe this will just end up the third Korean movie I watch!

I just recently become a fan of Kim Young Keang and searched everything about him. If you guys want to know more about him u can watch Healing camp (him with soo hyuk). He came from a very poor family and it just.. sobs. watch it guys. Soo hyuk said he's quite innocent and always too honest.. So I'm guessing that's where that scandal came from. He's too honest and never tought his joke will follow him for the rest of his life (for those haters). You guys took what he said likely and punished him like he kill a person. /sigh/

Wow! Finally! Kim Young Kwang has so many projects! His acting skills were finally being recognized! I watched him for the very first time in Hot Young Bloods. He won best new actor. And I must say he deserves it. If not for the scandal years ago, he might have been a Hallyu star. And regarding that issue, this is my opinion.
I have a lot of friends who likes to talk about their dislikes like 'this woman is fat','this guy is nerd, really uncool'. KYK just happened to be honest (like so many of us) in a public setting. Since he's an actor, a lot of people were looking up to him. The fans put him in high pedestal which is wrong. He's human too. He can judge others, he can dislike others, he can even curse at others. I guess they were really disappointed when their idol is not what they think he is. And many people are still hating on him? Haha. Like they didn't say nasty things in their whole life. Shame on those people. I myself am guilty of saying 'i don't like her ugly face'. I'm not saying what he did was good but we don't have the right to judge him when we are doing the exact same thing. The guy and the magazine apologize already and they didn't mean no harm, so why bring up this issue AGAIN?
BTW, He is a great actor. Watch his latest drama 'Lookout'. Damn, his smile was carved by LDV. It's even better than MSG and FFMY. And in D-Day, gosh. That drama even surpasses DOTS, Doctor Crush and to think the two main leads have not so many romantic interactions. Well, congrats oppa! I hope they give you so many projects! You deserve it!
