JTBC rom-com courts Kim Yoo-jung to headline webtoon adaptation

New drama news! JTBC is in the planning stages for a new series with a somewhat oddball title that means literally “First off, clean hotly/passionately.” Let’s agree that’s awkward and settle on First, Clean Up. Better still, they’ve extended an offer to Kim Yoo-jung (Moonlight Drawn By Clouds), and her management has confirmed that she is reviewing the project.

The drama is a romantic comedy based on a webtoon of the same name that began running in 2013, and centers around a character who works at a cleaning company. The heroine sounds cute, and just the sort of bouncy weirdo Kim Yoo-jung could play: Gil Oh-sol is super-positive, super-obtuse, and 4-dimensional (aka bizarre). She doesn’t really care about dirtiness and possesses a “superhuman stomach.”

She sounds like the perfect foil to the hero, in that she’s his diametric opposite: He’s Jang Sun-gyul, the good-looking and well-off owner of the cleaning company, and he’s excessively fastidious, veering on obsessive-compulsive, about cleanliness. Naturally, they fall in love.

First, Clean Up was announced for a drama adaptation last year, and is finally getting around to the casting stage. I know I shouldn’t get excited before Kim Yoo-jung actually confirms and her co-star is picked, but it sounds like a cute fluffball of a show that I’d be eager to watch. It’s aiming for a 2018 broadcast on JTBC.

Yes! Can't wait for this one too! Since they haven't decided on the hero actor yet, may I please wish for Jung Hae In (our sweet smilling Woo Tak) or Yeon Woo Jin paired with Park Bo Young? I think JHI/PBY would make an extra cute couple! 😍😍

Yes it's probably the same movie that was on hold from 2 years ago.
If they started shooting in Sept then it should be done soon for an early release next year.

I wish she didn't turn down "With God." It's more stable and she would've work with Ha Jung-woo, Oh Dal-Su, Ma Dong-seok etc.

Isn't the male lead a CEO? I don't think he's supposed to be a teenager. What is the age of her character because KYJ does not look like a 20 something at all!

Wow. Kim Yoo Jung is young - just 20, if I'm not mistaken. And the male lead is the owner of a company so he better be of a somewhat believable age - and unless he's a chaebol heir, I hope he's at least in his late 20s. A possible age gap (not that I have any particular problems with it)? Or something the drama will overlook?

Gong Hyo Jin has been doing romcom to romcom to romcom. What’s wrong with that? She is 18 years old, what would you like her to play? At this age, she can play as much bubble gum role as she wants. Shin Hye played youre beutiful then Heart Strings, close genre. YEH played Princess Hours then Coffee Prince, arent they are both candy-ish as well. What have they done to themselves, are you serious? Stop being salty, you can’t typecast her as her last drama is Saeguk and this is her first modern romcom if ever so?

Romcom and candy are not synonymous. Why are you getting so worked up? They only said not to get typecasted. Also, saeguk candy or modern candy is still candy. Don't rationalize it.

Erm I think it was the original poster who got worked up. How can we assume the heroine is candy or not from two lines of character description? I love Kromcoms, it's one of the best genres that I can go with at any given situation lol, and we can't say they are superficial or silly lol since at least I know I am here for the fluff, cuteness and everything else. I mean just look at the fav lists DB has on the recap section. So I I don't get the fuss either. And I'm not going to write off the drama just from an excerpt without taking a look at the original writing. So yeah.

It seems she knows she can't follow up the success of MDBC on a public channel especially with the ratings these days so pick a cable drama. In cable even 2% considered as a success. Makes sense.

Agreed. She looks to be avoiding public channels because moonlight ratings can't be followed up there. Cable would be much easier. She would get 2-3 easy. All jtbc dramas are doing well. Even package has broken 2.

What does being her mother have to do with stating a fact? Cable has lower standards than public broadcasting and less scrutiny. This drama is already an assures hit because 2-3 will be easy and if it's 5-6 it's automatically a big hit hence no worries of a bad comeback. It's a strategic move what's the problem with that?

0

Required fields are marked *

But she was just offered a role. How did that result to comments concluding that she's being strategic about the ratings when she hasn't said yes to taking the role?

"It seems she knows she can't follow up the success of MDBC on a public channel especially with the ratings these days so pick a cable drama."

Isn't this too presumptive? She didn't reach out to the production team. They reached out to her and she hasn't given them feedback yet. Why are people assuming already that she's basing her acting decisions on potential ratings? Is it fair for people to assume so when she hasn't given any indication that that's the case? Again, she hasn't made any decisions and people are eager to pass judgements on what hasn't happened yet. And when did she avoid public channels? She was offered a cable drama (Circle) and a public channel drama (School 2017), and declined both for her to concentrate on her last year in high school. She was offered role for a cable drama and now you're claiming that she looks to be avoiding public channels for ratings. Is that a fair assumption to make?

Kim Yoo Jung has been in the industry for more than a decade but dont forget that she is only 18 years old international age. Meaning she can play as much cutie romcom teeny role as she is still a legit teen. When she hit early to mid 20s, she will have more time to play more mature and other dimensional roles. So I dont understant these people saying that she will be typecast, man popular actresses such as SHK, PSH and YEH have been playing candy girls especially on their early career. When Yoojung hit 20s, she cant take back time for her to play a teeny and bubbly role again. Also this is gonna be (if ever) her first modern romcom drama, so I dont get the typecast thingy. She will have tons of years to show to you the other side of her so please don’t deprive her to grab the characters and roles of her age.

She's playing a 20 something though and she doesn't look old enough. If she already starts playing 20 something candy after playing teen candy she'll only ever be candy. Which actress after playing candy all her career has stopped playing candy? PSH still plays fluff and same for YEH and SSK. They all get flak for it and PSH and SSK have a lot of haters on DB for playing candy. Same can happen to KYJ.

Besides, it's exactly this kind of modern romcom role that could bring her more international fame so long as her chemistry with the male lead is off the charts. She's still young so she has plenty of opportunities to do more dramatic roles when she hits her early 20s. I honestly don't get the negativity.

Warm and Cozy was a special kind of awful, and besides, I trust Jtbc dramas. Strong Woman Do Bongsoon had awful writing and one-dimensional characters, but somehow the way the entire show was packaged made the flaws less obvious and the drama quite engaging.

I'm actually excited because I want to see her in a modern rom com where she's not high school age! Young quirky and bubbly... she could definitely pull that off! She's also someone quite flexible with portrayal of age.

I just hope they don't cast someone 10 years older than her or something.

5

Required fields are marked *

I'm so torn.

On one hand I'm happy to have some type of possible casting news for Kim Yoo Jung and the plot sounds quirky and funny... On the other hand I'm worried for the male lead because with the industry having no problems casting 10+ years older males for young actresses that's kind of a deal breaker for me. Especially with KYJ being 18/19.

Of course she would have to confirm it first but the more I think about it I want her to pass.

3
2
reply

Required fields are marked *

Indeed. I think she is too young to play adult romance onscreen, even more if romance is the core of the show and if they are pairing her with a much older guy. Some people will find it cringy and the producers will try to adapt, and they will ruin the show. It was already an issue in MDBC with Park Bo Gum: they tried to make the romance so vanilla that I got a vanilla intoxication and was not able to enjoy it.
I like Yoo Jung but I hope she chooses a different type of role this time. In the coming 10-20 years she will have countless opportunities to do rom-com and play candy roles.

1
1
reply

Required fields are marked *

I actually thought they did fine in MDBC and Park Bo Gum isn't 10 years older than her. So it's not cringy. I thought it was much worse when she was 15 and got paired up with 30 year old Lee Je Hoon in Secret Door. Like YIKES! What happened there?

A lot of people apparently forget that and name MDBC as the problematic drama when it really was sweet and both, Kim Yoo Jung and Park Bo Gum, made the romance work.

Like you I hope for some variety in roles for her but at this age it's difficult to find a writer who doesn't write stereotypical roles for young woman at Kim Yoo Jung's age.

4

Required fields are marked *

Typical tropes, rich guy and a candy, nothing new. I don't care about age gaps as long as they're in appropriate age but she's so young for this role, they should find an actress in her twenties (maybe Nam Ji Hyun?), i hope she pass.
If I watch this drama i will not forget that this girl is still a highschool student.

Kim Sae-ron should be next. The other 3 had their turn already.

I'd love another round of love/hate relationship between Jin-goo and Ji-hee. They were so natural at it in "Ja Myung Go" I didn't want their scenes to end.

I'd also add a brother sister pair between Jin-goo and my baby Kim Hyang-gi. No 4th Kim. She'll just be baby Kim :).
I think they resemble each other and their beautiful believable tears will make me cry like a baby.

3

@Sera. hahaha. He's been paired with a lot of older women lately, too. I just hope they all have a better time transitioning than Moon Geun-young had.

@kiara. Has he ever been paired with Kim So-hyun? iirc she was the loony second lead in METS, but that's it. I have a gigantic soft spot for Ji-hee because of Ja Myung Go, Alone in Love, and most of all Queen Insoo. And how could I have forgotten Kim Hyang-gi? She's so awesome! (I would most love to see her have a reunion with Cheon Bo-geun in like 5-10 years).

OK, I think the best thing is a family drama where Kim Hyang-gi is Jin-goo's little sister, and KSR, KSH, and KYJ are her BFF's since childhood. Maybe one of them likes him, or he likes one of them, idk lol. They would completely outnumber him, but that's fine with me as long as they're not treated like a harem lol.

3

@juniper
Jin-goo and So-hyun were the young couple in "Missing You" or "I Miss You."
They can do melo well and romance on the side. She was more comfortable with him than Yeo Seung-ho imo.

The family drama idea is perfect! Then we'll love them all in one show :).

3

@kiara. tbh I haven't seen many of Kim So-hyun's dramas. Nobody did that great in METS besides Yeo Jin-gu imo, but she impressed me in The Duo. I'm still waiting for the right role to become a proper fan of hers. Was The Last Princess good?

2

@juniper The Last Princess is amazing so definitely watch that! But if you want a quick introduction to Sohyun watch Page Turner. Its absolutely brilliant!

2

@juniper
I'm so going to give you a hard time if you don't watch "The Last Princess."
One of Son Ye-jin's raw performances.
Once she took over her part you'll forget about everyone else.
Kim So-hyun should do more dramas/films with Ye-jin. I love the resemblance and she would learn so much from the best.

I wish I've seen more of Kim So-hyun in sageuks. There were better sageuks for her back then. "Ruler" was terrible and she got a lot of criticisms that she didn't deserve.
I missed quite a bit of her shows earlier in her career because I was into period dramas and not so much into anything else.

I love her! She has her own kind of awesomeness!

2

@JK. Thanks! Maybe I will check out Page Turner :)

@Kiara. Got it lol. I'll have to see if I can find it on DVD! It would have been more surprising if Ruler ended up being good tbh. One actress can't save a show that has so much going against it.

1

@ juniper
You'll find it on a certain website with subs.
I love her performance but I wouldn't buy the DvD.
It's not at "Memories of Murder" level.
Park Hae-il is pretty good too but then he's always good :).

1

@kiara. Thanks for the tip :)

After all this talk about these child actresses, I've been looking all over the place for this show called Snowy Road, but I can't find the drama special or the theatrical release with subs :( It stars Kim Hyang-gi and Kim Sae-ron as two girls whose childhood ends in tragedy during the occupation era.

1

I don't think KDY wants to be kissing KYJ since he's repeatedly stated he doesn't even see her as a female and had the galls to ignore her calls on public television. I know they are close but that was just disrespectful.

There's no need to be offended over every small thing, especially since they seem to be good friends.

I don't get the criticism when she has yet to pick a post-MDBC role so it's not like she keeps on playing bubbly romcom heroines. Thread of lies makes me glad kim hyangi never does dramas because she would blow the three kims out of the water. She was hardly in the movie but out acted yoojung by miles! Explains why she got the critical acclaim. This drama sounds too clichéd. I love romcoms but this sounds like every Korean romcom ever

1

@ FIONA
You probably meant Kim Hyang-gi hasn't done a drama in a while because she has done dramas before. I think films is more accommodating with her school schedule.

She was in Queen's classroom with Kim Sae-ron and they were both great. I wouldn't say she blew Kim Sae-ron out of the water although Hang-gi was my favorite in that show.

I love her to pieces but it's difficult to compare these young child actors because they individually bring their own charm and their own style to the table.

They are all talented and under 20 with a lot of experience for their age but still have room to grow.

For me, "Flame of Desire" and "Dirge Singer" etc etc cement Kim Yoo-jung as a personal favorite.

8

Kim Hyangi is definitely the strongest actress of the lot but she doesn't have the looks of charisma to get by in dramas. She can out act all of them but they will still be more popular. True though that they all have very different approaches to acting and but they all still have to prove themselves as adult actresses and not in terms of rating. But actually prove themselves as lead actors through a large variety of characters.

1

Or Flames of Ambition? That drama is filled with breathtaking performances, and yet her portrayal of young Yoon Na-young and then later as her daughter completely stole the show. If she can do Jung Ha-yeon's writing justice, she can do anything.

3

@juniper
She did the same thing in "May Queen." I stopped watching shortly after she left.

1

I watched the childhood section of that one, too, just for her. She was great! I remember Kim Gyu-cheol acting his butt off as well, terrible script or no.

Kim soo hyun was like 16 or 17 being romanced by Taecyeon, kim Se ron with yoon si yoon, kim yoo jung previously with park bo gum.
Like does no one read the scripts and think why would an underage girl have to be exposed to this?
I know all the actors mentioned above are good looking so a lot of people don't mind but how would people look at this same situation if the actors looked like old men?

The idea that there are no good actresses in their 20s has been proven to be rubbish, as if girls like Kim Ji Won, Jung So Min, Kim Go Eun, Park So Dam, Gong Seung Yeon,Chae Soo Bin etc don't exist or don't have talent from the start

What they really mean with that excuse is "there are no famous actresses in their 20s"..... which, how are they supposed to become known names if kdrama producers shut their eyes and refuse to cast them in lead roles because they are not famous?

@pigsnout Agree. Many actressess in 20s are actually more talented than actors in this group, but sadly not popular and no star power. The ones who are more popular either just average or mediocre ones, not to mention idols who keep receiving lead roles and only finally proved they can act after leading drama for several times.

Required fields are marked *

There are still few good and popular ones nevertheless, but agency isn't good enough to get the good scripts and projects.

1

This is true. Sadly, there is always a greater variety of roles for men than for women. Which is why it's so great to see shows like AoY2, Buam-dong or even Witch's Court, which so beautifully showcase female power.

1

@Sera lol I know exactly who you mean in that last sentence but I actually think it's not proved even now, their acting is just flat.

I don't mind idols if they can act well like Eunji, even Kim Se Jung is imo okay but it really cheats more talented women away from roles when bad or mediocre acting idols take lead roles or they're the only ones who get offered big projects that look sure to be hits. I agree that a lot of the yet-unknown 20s actresses are better than their same age male actors, it's just that there's no army service to clear out actresses every two years and leave roles for new actresses.

1

Agree, I'm quite worried about the age of the person cast opposite her. Neither do I want these young girls to get used to playing the object of affection to much older men even if on paper (in the script) they are (the characters) close in age.

I think Yoo-jung and So-hyun's mothers are their manager.

entertainment industries are the same anywhere you go. My point was just simple, let kids be kids. When they are old enough to do adult things then it will be ok.

I think the person was referring to off-screen age gaps. On-screen age gaps might be nothing to write home about but off-screen is a different story. So I'd say it's that and all those you mentioned.

She rejected Circle after considering it briefly, and School 2017 after considering it for a few weeks. She just received this new offer and is in the process of considering it. What do you mean by her drama choices being bad when she's just technically doing the same thing she did with her previous offers, except we don't know yet if she will reject this one?

She hasn't accepted this drama, so how can you judge her for her "choice"? Also, some actors reject drama offers coz they want to concentrate on their studies, which I personally find commendable.

Circle 2017 portion wasn't quite a good fit for her, as much as I love Yoo-jung, I feel Gong Seung-yeon owned that character. As for School 2017, I watched that show for a bit, and amazing wouldn't be the word to describe it.

The show didn’t even start filming and you already decided it’s subpar to Circle and School 2017? I get it with Circle being unique but it’s not like School 2017 was a new innovation of a drama either. It even started out with lots of naysayers and the odds against it but it ended up winning hearts. My point being, wait for the casting confirmation and then give the show a chance before judging.

She's 18 not 19. And people are allowed to voice their opinion. If you don't like it then make a substantial argument. I don't care for this casting because the original webtoon was too boring for me. Very typical and nothing exciting. I don't know how they plan to adapt it or even why.

Why are you even here then? I don't see any substantial argument from these negative comments either. How is saying her drama choices poor substantial when she has not even made any choices lol

How is calling her acting sucks and praising other actress substantial when thousands of others praised her acting and even gave her multiple awards for it.

All I can see is bitter potatoes rolling around and dropping negative comments over a mere news of a potential casting. You and these people have issues and one of it is your inability to comprehend a simple article.

Sounds like a brainless idiot who doesn't know how to argue when your own shit hit your face. I don't care who you are and who you like, just rot in your bitterness and negativity. I don't give a damn about your other actresses and I don't go in their articles and said nonsense like you. Bye.

This is exactly why KYJ has been termed as having the worst fandom in every forums. Be it Soompi, Koala, AKP or One Hallyu. KYJ fans are notorious for spewing hateful comments even when others make reasonable comments. What a terrible fandom poor KYJ to have such obsessively vicious fans. The hate you throw to others will eventually cause the downfall of KYJ in the future because no one wants to be associated with an actress whose fans make so much noise over the smallest comments.

Lmao I'm sure calling her drama choices "bad" just because she recently received an offer for this drama and rejected previous offers is "reasonable." Whatever floats your boat.

2

@Elle pretty sure the person is calling the fandom bad and not her choices and reading the comments from her fan can't blame 'em. I heard the fandom is rabid and specifically opened this article just to see if its true and sure enough. Mad mad mad all around. Yoojung don't need any antis, her 'fans' are doing a fine job of it themselves.

1

@southwest12 ceremony is criticizing fans for defending Yoo-jung by saying they do so even when others make reasonable comments, but some comments in this article are out of line. Take Comment #20, the comment I was referring to as an example of a "reasonable" comment fans are being defensive about. How is that even a logical criticism?

Idk what you've been reading about the KYJ fandom, but I've seen other celeb fandoms do much, much worse than the response here in defense of their idol. And it's not like other actresses' fans are so innocent when they go to Yoo-jung's personal IG and spam it with insults and curse words just because she got an offer for a drama.

2

Oh right now you're playing the "evil fandom" card when you can't defend these haters spewing hatred on her for no actual reason. Calling her talentless and degrade her to champion another actress, bringing up " poor drama choices" when she has not made any decision and continuously seeding hate in this comment section - these are supposed to be kind-hearted people? I'd say they are just a bunch of dogs, only know how to bark nonsense with retarded abilities to actually fight actually match.

1

It seems like you're really free to join the losers barking all these nonsense. Is it just a coincidence all haters are mostly unregistered accounts? One nickname defeated, invent another one and make it look like multiple users. Oh yes, familiar trick.

1

I don’t get why a POTENTIAL casting of Kim Yoo Jung in a drama can warrant such negative responses? She’s talented, she’s young, she’s pretty; how is this not good news? What more can we ask for? Personally, I always get excited over both Kim Yoo Jung or Kim So Hyun casting even if I don’t always end up watching the end products.

A potential casting of Kim Yoo Jung in a drama is definitely good news on it's own, but taken in this context it can come off as somewhat predatory. She's 18, looks younger and if she accepts this role, is likely to be paired with an older male lead.

I have no comments on her acting skills or choice of dramas, but I am wary of the possible predatory implications in this potential casting.

To be fair her fans are equally nervous about a potentially age inappropriate romance. It doesn't help that she looks her age which is not wrong by any means, but it can be awkward if the guy looks old enough to be an uncle.

Anyway we trust her judgement so let's wait and see. My wish is to see her act with a guy that is even younger than park bo gum with talent of course

Some commenters are so obvious with their jealousy and insecurity whenever she gets offered roles, as for the why....only them would know-if they can be honest about it. Antis here are masquerading their comments with protective stance, but this "protective stance" doesnt apply to all. Thanks to javabeans for all these.

"Antis here are masquerading their comments with protective stance, but this "protective stance" doesnt apply to all. Thanks to javabeans for all these."

So much truth in this. People in here got their pitchforks out complaining about the age gap between Bogum and Yoojung back then and continue to rattle of the same in this article, when I don't remember reading such about Seungho and Sohyun. In fact, many were so pumped up about the pairing when it was announced. Why is the age gap a thing for BG-YJ and not an issue for SH-SH when they have the same age gaps and are of the same age when they filmed their respective dramas? I agree with the last sentence too. Over the years, I've become accustomed to it.

You must have selective amnesia because there were plenty of people cribbing about the age gap for Saeron and Sohyun with their respective casting with older men and JB even spoke about it in her podcast. No wonder they call Yoojung fans delusional.

For Saeron-Siyoon and Sohyun-Taecyeon? Yes. For Sohyun-Seungho? No. I'm sure you've read that I've only mentioned that pairing. The thing is I understood the concern about those former pairings. The age gap is 10+years. Even I had an issue about Yoojung's Secret Door pairing with Jehoon. The thing I don't get is that people here were up-in-arms about a 6-year gap between Bogum and Yoojung and still rants about it like it was as massive as the age gaps of Saeron-Siyoon and Sohyun-Taecyeon pairings when the pairing has the same age gap with the Sohyun-Seungho pairing that people in this site were so excited about. Seungho and Bogum are both '93ers. Sohyun and Yoojung are both 99ers. Why is a 6 year gap an issue with the YJ-BG pairing and not for the SH-Sh pairing? That is what I have an issue about. And I think you did not understand what we meant with the sentence about JB. I did not say that JB wasn't calling out the others. It was an entire matter all together that has started way back in like 2013. I'd appreciate it if you would not resort to name-calling and labelling people based on their comments. Rational discussion is preferred and I don't think anyone appreciates being called delusional and an amnesiac including yourself.

Idc what genre she wants to do, she is young, let her do what she wants. Although it would be nice to see her in school drama for one last time before she gets to be 20s. Maybe because I have seen many young actresses paired with much older actors, that I don't really care if her partner is much older actor or not. As long as they are good actors, they can work on it.

Anyway I can't wait to see who is going to be male lead. Maybe it would be better to be known before she confirms or rejects. Who is free and available?

Moving past the issue of casting, the premise sounds like a generic-candy-chaebol romance. After the reviews on Revolutionary Love, and my own tendency to avoid this trope (though it's not possible in dramaland), I'm not feeling too interested.

(But the discussion on this page has been super fun to read. I enjoy critical and differing opinions [so long as they are constructive and don't descend into personal attacks]. Dare I say this?)

I'm amazed by how much hate Kim Yoo Jung is getting here in the comments section for doing nothing. So far I know she is not involved in any serious scandal and I've not read stories about disrespectful attitude coming from her.
This girl is a a great actress. She have proven to be more than capable to act emotions/feelings of all kinds in front of the cameras. She is only 18 years old and romantic comedies are perfect for her age. 18 years old is a great age to try do any role of a young adult woman. Hopefully her team picks a good project for her.
I do not mind age gaps when the plots, the script and the characters get me if they are good.

Wow, is it just me, or does this page seem to be more negative than other casting news? Well, I'm just excited that she's considering, since we don't even know if she'll accept, but I'm a fan of hers, so if she does accept, I'll check it out! If it sucks, then that's that. And I honestly, personally, don't mind age gaps at all, whether it's 5 years or 10 or whatever. As long as they're good actors/actresses and they portray their roles well, I'm happy! And like I said, personally, I'm the type to say age is just a number, so I really could care less. Unless shady things are happening behind the scenes because of an age gap or if it makes one or the other party uncomfortable, if not, I'm fine with it. I'm probably in the minority, but they're all working professionals, if a role fits someone, it fits.

People always undermine popular actresses. I missed the time before Love in the Moonlight where Kim Yoojung didn't hit mainstream popularity. Now that she succeeded with Moonlight, people are putting her down and claiming other actresses are better than her and will "knock" her out of the park. Even her attitude scandal was fabricated and made a bigger issue than it was due to her new-found popularity.

Yes, she's only 18. She can do more mature and complex roles when she is older, let her enjoy her youth and play roles her age. Numerous actresses like Park Shinhye, Kim Jiwon and Jin Seyeon have voiced out how they struggled with playing older characters, and were glad to play characters their age. I hope Kim Yoojung doesn't have to deal with that.

Besides, rom-com doesn't equate to candy. There are three airing rom-coms right now - 20th century, BIMFL and Revolutionary Love. None of the three heroines are candies. I'll trust Kim Yoojung if she decides to pick this. And hoping for an age-appropriate co-star for her. I mean, if Park Eunbin can play a judge and Yoo Seungho can play a ceo in their upcoming dramas, they can cast someone their age.

Wonderful news! I miss seeing her onscreen and I'd love to see her playing a more bubbly, carefree type of character as most of her recent characters have been very heavy. She has a real knack for humour and I loved how cute and sparkly she was at comedy in the first half of LITM when Sam Nom was still a little mischief maker

I hope they cast a talented, good looking AND age appropriate actor opposite her.

Age difference does not matter unless the other male lead is old enough to be her father. Ewww...

Throwing some names:
Yeo Jin Goo (of the deep voice)
Shin Jae Ha (24 years old)
Woo Do Hwan (25 years old)
Lee Tae Hwan (poor guy looks like he is in his 30s but he's actually 22)
Gong Myung (23 years old)

How about a noona romance? Genuis CEO ...
Nam Da Reum (15 years old)

PS. Dirge Singer was awesome. Very uncandy like.....

Before commenting, people need to know the brief summary of this webtoon. A love story between early 20s female lead and male lead (end of 20s/30). She is going to be 20 next year according to korean age system? So what's the problem with age gap? People fall in love regardless age. Doing rom com in early adult career should help her known by international viewers. Why being so bitter? She can choose whatever she wants, we will always support her and you can always support your bias. Life is as simple as that. Why bother with her casting news ???

Kim Yoo Jung is really popular look so many negatives comments even the offered still under review by her,,, OMG... they link to other actress who was not yet offer and comparing. The webtoon CEO is older but it can be change a little bit younger when in transfer into drama they can change the story line that most of them do.. So they had many choices to be a CEO about 4 to 5 yrs gap on her is okey like Park bo gum again, yoo seung ho, yeo jin ho, ji soo, lee hyun woo or nam joo hyuk... they can choose from this actors.. so age problem will not an issue as long as they can portray the role well like the big hit of MDBC. Those who had negative comments you must wait.
