Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching

So, what are we all watching this week?

What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

javabeans

Because This Life Is Our First: There’s no way to describe this drama to someone in a way that does it justice. It sounds familiar and expected on paper, but with these odd ducks together, and these lovely nuanced actors, and these endearing side characters, the finished product turns into something a little magical. I love watching these two bond in these tiny, mundane ways that somehow feel really important, more important than the fact that they’re already married and living together. It’s the little things that matter!

Go Back Spouses: The secondhand embarrassment is strong with this one, but I suppose that’s a good thing if you like wacky comedic situations. I was surprisingly moved when Jang Nara went back to the past and was so amazed and relieved to see her mother again (who has died in the future/present) that she chased her around like an adoring puppy… and then I laughed out loud when the sudden outpouring of affection creeped Mom out. The show hasn’t yet won me over into thinking this is a couple who should get back together in this second-chance life, but I’m willing to see where they go with it.

20th Century Boy and Girl: I had previously been surprised when it seemed this show wasn’t catching on, because I found it sweet and poignant, with a nostalgic touch. But this week I found myself getting antsy, because it felt like there’s all this great setup with the character histories and having the heroine variety-show-paired-up with her idol supercrush from her teenage years (and Lee Sang-woo is playing this washed-up former star with a nicely dignified, sad air)… but then the show kind of dithers around the point for a while. I want things to happen! I feel like we’re watching too much setup and preparation and taking too long to get to the main thrust of things. If it would just speed things up…

Witch’s Court: This show is nothing like the mind-numbing experience that was Criminal Minds… but why am I so reminded of Criminal Minds when I watch it? It’s just that even though the characters are way better and the writing much sharper here, whenever we turn to our sexually predatory villain of the week, who’s sneeringly unrepentant while our good guys struggle to take him down, my mind just glazes over. That’s a real downside of having all the cases focus on one type—sexual crimes—which means that an already familiar procedural setup feels even more repetitive. Staying in it for the characters, though, and hoping they keep me invested.

Revolutionary Love: Yeah… no. I will keep watching this show as light filler, but don’t have the patience to recap it—not when the show hasn’t met the baseline criteria for making people behave in reasonable, logical, or likable ways. Siwon’s character is too dumb, Kang So-ra is too angry, and Gong Myung too judgmental and seething and defeatist about it all. I would like for this show to get a clue and turn this ship around before it’s too late, but I would not hold my breath about it.

Because This Life Is Our First: Who knew that a purely business contractual wedding would have me bawling like a baby? I was preparing for wry jokes about the ritual of weddings, but then Mom had to go and be all real and gruff and loving, and I was done for. This drama feels like it’s written by someone who’s lived the heroine’s life—maybe without the contract marriage, but the experiences and the emotions feel so lived in.

Temperature of Love: I still don’t understand Kim Jae-wook’s character. He provides tension for the romance on a plot level, but there’s just nothing appealing about a man who sees that you’re in a relationship with another man, and interprets that as a challenge to court you harder.

Mad Dog: I just want the Mad Dog team to adopt the little stray puppy Woo Do-hwan and make him a part of the family. I know he’s feral, but if you gave him shots and a bath… and maybe put him on a leash… he could be domesticated!

Revolutionary Love: I really need this hero to show some signs of maturity, stat. I thought when he turned himself in it was going to be the start of a growth arc, but he just went right back to being petulant and entitled while other people lost their jobs because of him! I was so ready to forgive him, too. I like the setup and the heroine, but if he throws money at a problem one more time, it’s over.

Currently recapping: Temperature of Love

Rescue Me: Yes, I know I’m way behind, but I have to be in a certain headspace to watch shows like this. I’m only 6 episodes in, but I love the gritty darkness of the show, and how everyone, even the cult members in a way, seem to be stuck with no way to alter their circumstances. The characters are so incredibly complex, particularly Sang-mi – I love that as alone and frightened and trapped as she is, she never loses her inner strength or her determination to get free and save herself.

While You Were Sleeping: I’m behind on this one too, but so far the first 12 episodes have felt like a breeze to watch, with the interesting cinematography and the quirky, endearing characters. Lee Jong-seok has never been so adorably dorkalicious, and Suzy is actually GOOD, which just affirms my belief that she’s not a bad actress (and I say that having recapped Uncontrollably Fond ~shudder~), just one that needs a certain type of character and directing style to show off her strengths.

Revolutionary Love: So cuuuuute, I can’t stand it! There’s nothing new here, but I love that the show hearkens back to traditional rom-coms while still feeling fresh and interesting. Only Siwon could make such a whiny, annoyingly spoiled chaebol still feel sympathetic and endearing. Siwon and Kang So-ra are great together as I knew they would be, and I’m enjoying seeing Gong Myung play a character with so much bitterness and anger. We knew he could do cute and bouncy and childlike, and this is just the right time in his career for him to show us the other side of his acting ability. So far, so good.

Because This Life Is Our First: This show… what can I say? It’s amazing. I was expecting zany and silly, but what I got was sweet and contemplative, with realistic characters and thoughtful episodes that bring to light just how difficult it is to be a young person in today’s world. I like that Se-hee and Ji-ho aren’t having an easy time of this contract marriage, because that sort of situation would be difficult, and their awkward, tentative friendship feels just perfect for this stage in their relationship.

Currently recapping: Black

Mad Dog: I know I’m supposed to eventually root for Min-joon, but I don’t care how tragic his childhood has been — I just want to punch him in his smirky know-it-all face. I’m also disappointed that there’s so much focus on the airplane crash backstory and not as many of the Leverage style cons like we saw in the first couple of episodes. As much as I love Yoo Ji-tae, there’s very little here to keep my interest, so unfortunately this drama is destined for the “drop” pile.

The Package: The beautiful way the show integrated Bok-ja’s session with the psychiatrist was heartbreaking and painfully relatable, and episode 3 had me in tears at the end as we saw that her husband actually knew about her condition after all. But then episode 4 had me cackling over the chastity belt incident (I’m still giggling just thinking about it). Even though it feels like it shouldn’t work as well as it does, this show has been able to wonderfully balance the comedy and the sincerity, the tears and the laughter, all wrapped up in a thoughtful and gradual exploration of the characters as they relate to their tourist surroundings. I love it so much.

Currently recapping: Go Back Spouses

While You Were Sleeping: While I’m still loving the show, something keeps bothering me. I think the pacing is just off by a hair. I keep expecting certain things and they either happen too soon or too late. For instance, these dream rescue missions don’t really occur that often, and when they do happen, they seem to drag more than I’d like them to. And when I think about it, not much actually happens in each episode (or every two episodes, however you look at it). Perhaps it would feel too cluttered if our heroes had too many missions on their plates, but at the same time, it would give the show the extra thrill that it needs. Still, I can appreciate that the show wants to take its time with things, the romance included. The OTP is sweet together, and their screen time always brings a smile to my face. This isn’t Lee Jong-seok’s most interesting character–Yoo-bum and Woo-tak pique the most interest–but it’s definitely one of the most likeable. And my gawd, he’s such a good kisser. That’s… not exactly an important character trait, but, hell, it’s important to me.

Read somewhere that BTIMFL is based on Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu (jdrama and manhwa). After watching 1 ep of the jdrama, it certainly seems to be. Even elements like needing to be needed are similar. Wonder if the writer ever gave proper credit? If not, this is blatant plagiarism!

Decided to go a bit different and talk a bit about the dramas I dropped recently.

1) Hospital Ship. Dropped after Ep 4. Purely a HJW and HJW character story. Nothing about the story seemed compelling and all the plot lines (however unbelievable) is just directed at the one character.

2) Revolutionary Love. Dropped halfway through Ep 1. Paint by numbers. For fans of the actors but really nothing much else in it to invest 16 hours. I didn't care much about the characters or the story.

3) Temperature of Love. Dropped after Ep 1. I found it "noisy". Loud conversations, obvious emotional plays. Good actors. I sensed the payoff wasn't going to be worth the time.

4) The Package. Dropped after Ep 2. I am a bit torn on this one so may pick it up again. Maybe it didn't strike me in the right mood. It seems more melodrama. Feels like the acting is sub-par and the writing is average at best.

5) Black. Sigh! What a mess... watched through Ep3...might watch Ep4... but very likely to drop. Ep 1 - exciting, fast, interesting. Ep 2 - totally confusing. Ep 3 - huh? that's the drama logic? I doubt the writer will be able to recover this mess of a story without some totally illogical shortcuts. Good actors, poorly written characters.

6) Go Back Spouses - Ep 1 dropped. Not sure why. Maybe one too many time travel stories. My main issue with many of these is that it seems that time travel backwards also appears to make the characters less mature. Why would I watch a 35 year old couple travelling back to their 18 year old selves then start behaving like 18 year olds?

Not picked up - Witch's Court. Mad Dog. Avenger's Club.

BTISMFL - probably the best drama this year, so far.

WYWS - sigh! It's frustrating that HJ is becoming eye-candy. Wanted more of the quirky, strong, outspoken and intelligent HJ as a foil against a less confident, slightly weaker willed but loveable klutz JC (which is how it appeared at the beginning). Last 3-4 episodes - JC is becoming the super good guy (always right, always courageous, super smart, saves the damsel) and HJ is more angst filled, emotional and unsure. (in other words a pretty typical female lead). Pacing has also slowed down markedly. Wish the writers didn't pull this switcheroo...

20th Century B&G - hmmm. Weak writing storywise but nice characters. Sllloooowwww - Ep 12 is where they should have been in Ep 8, in my mind. SJJ needs to lose her (extremely pretty) wide eyed blank look - it's getting a bit tiring. It may be brutal to say but rather than portraying a calm, cool, innocence and maturity, as it was earlier on, it now seems to portray emotional distance and confusion. If the intent was to convey a person that is intensely emotionally private, they've succeeded. However, since we lack any internal narrative, this means I actually don't feel any connection with the character especially since it appears that she isn't even genuine to her closest friends.

Dropped wyws this week. It’s so boring and the acting isn’t great either, the lead actors’ acting and chemistry are subpar.. It’s funny because technically wyws is a decently written drama, it has all the elements. But nothing is pulling me in..

Apart from current-airing kdrama, I also watched some Taiwanese dramas that Netflix UK recently added. I'm normally not a huge fan (too many kdramas to watch) but there were 2 series that I would totally recommend (both titles courtesy of Netflix, so god knows what they were originally called)

First: A Boy Named Flora A. It's a heart-warming feel-good drama about a dysfunctional family who come together when the grandmother is dying. Or rather, when she doesn't die but lies in a coma, but they've already organised the funeral ceremonies

Second: Lovestorm. This is one of the funniest series I've watched in a long time. It's about three siblings, who have to deal with their parents (maybe) filing for divorce, and their own messed-up love lives. It gives some obvious nods to kdrama by having a very good-looking Korean teacher who gets all the ahjummas taking his language class. Normally series start off funny and then descend into melodrama, this one starts funny and descends into total slapstick in the last episode, featuring some pink bondage gear and a coffin. Seriously, it's hysterical.

Currently watching:
• Because this is my first life - Can’t wait to see Nam Sehee’s robotic facade to crumble.
• 20th century girl & boy - JinJin & Jiwon’s relationship is looove.
• Mad Dog - That last twist made Kim Min Joon and it made me cry buckets too. So heart- wrenching.
• Go Back spouses - the SLS is so strong with this one. Can Nam Gil be more smoooth?
• Knowing Brothers - I always start my day with this show! They sure know how to make me LOL.

Currently on hold:
• Temperature of Love - Now I am only in the mood to watch warm and less melo romance.
• 2D1N - I want the PD back pls.

The Package is such unexpected crack. I relate to all ... well, some situations too much. I mean it IS tempting to get into trouble. Cmon! But I have never considered the reach of social media even with a few hundred "my teacher wants to show us how far this picture can go" FB posts a day. But how did they know to hashtag the company? I mean he doesn´t wear a sign...The brother actually seems like the least realistic character. And that french is just plain weird, I don´t speak french but I see french tourists almost every day, so...
While you were sleeping: how did he not get over that fence if they haad kept emphasizing his long legs? and the comment about the gun and America. If you get told by a kdrama, it´s game over.

I'm watching Revolutionary Love too and it's kinda letting me down. I want to like Siwon's character, but I just can't. He's so annoying and immature. I believed we would see a slight change in him somehow but alas, we have not. I do really like the second male lead though! Other than that show, I'm loving Temperature of Love, The Package, and While You Were Sleeping! Such cute shows with great actors!

I am watching everything that Javabeans is watching and then some, like the family drama- My Golden Life. Why isn't anyone talking about this? It's something like Father is Strange, 50 eps so that's good for me.
Planning to watch: Avenger's Social Club and The Package, and if I have some more time then maybe, Mad Dog.
The half hour show is kinda annoying that I tend to forget where I left off, so I try to watch everything that was shown for a particular week in one go.
can't seem to sustain my interest for Temperature of Love, I dunno, maybe if Kim Jae Wook is the main lead, maybe I'll be interested. I like Yang Se-jong, too, just not buying the whole I'm-crazy-for-Noona scenario.
While you were Sleeping - on and off, just a filler, it's okay. Lee Jong Suk's nose really bothers me, there I said it. 'wish he went to a better doctor it's just so distracting at times.

When I read that a viewer regretted watching Because TI My First Life live because s/he couldnt wait for the next episode, I told myself that I wouldn’t watch it because I don’t like waiting a week either. But on an off time, I decided to just watch a few minutes of it... and a few hours later I’m all caught up. The show is exceptional! I don’t know how to gush enough about it! Now I have to wait for the new episodes to come out!

I’m also watching My Golden Life. Weird family. But somehow the plot keeps going and keeps me surprised still.

My drama slump has ended all thanks to "Because This is My First Life". I had zero expectation with this drama but thanks to the good reviews I've read, I've reapt more than what I wanted from watching this show. Plus I've finished the 11 episodes of NigeHaji in two days because I've read that BTIMFL was based from it. The concept is still present in the kdrama - contract marriage, cohabitation, and societal concerns but these dramas are different in their own way. So there's no use comparing both.

I've just finished three episodes of Avengers Social Club because of the good reviews as well. I'm quite picky with what I watch nowadays because I don't have the luxury of time. Thank you to all who gave their reviews because you've helped me pick the kdramas I should watch.

I'm looking forward to watching Misaeng soon (I'm so far behind the kdramas) because I need some motivation at work. One thing I've noticed, TvN is not afraid to show viewers quality stories.

@odilettante Thank you for recapping Black
Concerning The Package, I could not believe the "actor" playing the part of the mayor of Mont Saint Michel was so bad so I checked. His name is Eric Vannier and he is actually the former mayor of MSM and the founder and CEO of the company "Mère Poulard". He also owns about 30 retail outlets on the island and was apparently sentenced to a 50,000 euro fine for the unlawful acquisition of an interest back in 2015. http://www.leparisien.fr/faits-divers/mont-saint-michel-l-ex-maire-condamne-a-50-000-eur-d-amende-pour-prise-illegale-d-interet-02-03-2015-4570181.php

Whoaaa SailorJamun I agree with your analyses of While You Were Sleeping 100%. I feel the pace is definitely a bit off (from what I would like it to be at least) since I often feel they can fit in more content and interesting events to really make this a top quality show. But it is definitely a beautifully directed and overall pleasant experience to watch so I’m hoping theres more in store for us to keep engaged.

Asiiiide from this however, I am also hooked on Six Flying Dragons like no other. It is my soul show. It is my lifeline. I can’t...I can’t even express...I frkn love you show. Thank you Dramabeans and thank you HeadsNo2 for recapping it so well back then. Only wish I was watching and in on the hype while all were hyping.

yeah, finally made an account!

This weeks I started two dramas, 20th Century and Mad Dog! that means I'm watching 9 dramas! O_O I have yet to start Witch Court. I think I'll start after one of the dramas I watch is done.

Temperature of Love : Now that the main leads are official, I somehow ship them less? I did like their vibe but now it's just weird because of how they handled with Jung Woo..maybe because there was a lot of respect between the trio.. they don't want to get things awkward but as a viewer, I find it awkward. I think the PD has already fallen for Kyung but I hope Kyung doesn't. haha I like her annoyance towards him.

First Time : I thought the mother daughter scene was really realistic and endearing. I think it's save to say Jiho already likes Sehee, I am waiting for him to fall in love hard with Jiho.

20th Century : I marathon it, it was really easy to follow, I love Lee Sang Woo but his character is a little dull for second lead.. The stewardess story is predictable so I'm hoping the lawyer is better.

WYWS : The second hand embarrassment game is strong this week. I was really happy the way Jae Chan talk to the archer's mother. It was really humane. I feel so much for the father. I hate violence but that is what fathers are capable of doing.

Hospital Ship : I was wondering when the politic story would come in..and I hated it. I think I need to read about healthcare in S.Korea..because shutting down hospital ship or ER made no sense for me.

Mad Dog : Only on episode 2, The airplane crash was so heart-wrenching. I couldn't help but crying with Mad Dog. I need to know whether Kim Min Joon is nice or not, I want to like him but I'm scared I might be fooled.

Revolutionary Love : I'll admit it's a little hard to watch SiWon this week, particularly because he is playing a spoilt chaebol and in real life he is chaebol. Ratings gone down and there are talks of having him remove from the show but I hope they won't do it. I don't find him endearing just yet, but I'm staying to see him grow up.

Go Back Couple : Son in Law meeting mom was also quite sad.. my heart swoon when he said he is her son. I thought they had a good relationship but the funeral scene is telling that he's part of the reason? I don't like where it's going.

The Package : I'm very curious of the supposed cheating couple story. I hope it's something truly unexpected. My current favorite story is the older couple, I know despite his personality..he truly loves his wife and that's make it really sad.

I'm watching 4 Variety Shows

1n2d : I haven't keep up with the show, I think it's getting more boring.. I decided to tune in this week episode because of the anniversary special. It was fun to walk down to memory, I hope they will invite past members but I think that's just me being greedy.

Knowing Brothers : I usually skip the skit part but this week was pretty funny. I like idols very much but I want more...

Knowing Brothers : I usually skip the skit part but this week was pretty funny. I like idols very much but I want more comedians on the show and random totally unexpected actors.

Night Goblin : Only watched half because I was using mobile data. I missed Hong Kwang! I hope he won't miss filming anymore, two weeks of not seeing him bickering with Seungkwan, I was feeling empty.

Master Key : The idea is good but the editing is pretty bad. I want more female cast.. two girls on opposing team, no chance for OTP moments.

I hear you javabeans. I love Sora in Miseang and Warm & Cozy (She was so natural there) and Siwon in She was Pretty (He can be suave and has comedic timing). But Revolutionary Love is...sadly bad. Frenzied pacing, annoying sound effects for comedic moments, Siwon’s overacting and clownish, Sora looked overly made up in almost every scene (foundation 1-2 shades too light! Ugh!) and Gong Myung look pained all the time (He’s a cutie but such a waste in this drama). Compared to the slower paced, reflective, indie-type of Mon-Tues offerings (especially BTIMFL -love love love!). I’m going to drop RL.

Black: Love this one, it feels like a mix between western drama and asian drama. The 1st ep is the mystery and the rest of the show is a crude joke that totally fits me with a slick camera movement and interesting plot.

Buamdong Revenge Club : love it, the revenge and the personality and the plan, idk how to explain it better than it's really fun an funny

Because this life is our 1st: it's touching and I like how they title every ep.

This past week I really got invested in Because This is Our First Life. The set up is typical but something about this drama isn't. I felt myself following along emotionally and relating to the characters and I'm really loving this drama. Still have Temperature of Love as well but something was a bit off for me this week. Still loving While You Were Sleeping and I find it the most entertaining drama of the lot that I am currently watching. Buamdong Revenge Seekers is slowing losing its appeal to me and The Package has gotten better because I like how each episode reveals one persons background and our Marooshi appears in everyone's back story. I wonder what that is suppose to mean.

My current list is VERY Monday-Tuesday centered:

1. Because This Is My First Life: I believe everything I feel or want to say has already been stated for me by other Beanies <3

2. 20th Century Boy and Girl: Unexpected cute, thoughtful and meaningful. I actually like the slower pace; I enjoy character-oriented narratives and love slice-of-life feels.

3. Witch's Court: Are there flaws? Totally. But I still enjoy this drama nonetheless. I find Yi-deum's backstory interesting and her personality flawed in just the perfect amounts and totally bad ass. She reminds of Lee Bo-young's character in I Hear Your Voice somewhat. Plus, the chemistry between her and Yoon Hyun-min is humuna-humuna.

While You Were Sleeping: I am keeping up with it and enjoy it, but I don't LOVE it. Not in the way I Hear Your Voice was crack for me back in 2013. The writer (who I believed is named Park Hae-ryun) is beginning to seem formulaic to me. I need something new, fresh! I'd really love a drama by that doesn't have to do with the law or journalism...or even politics. Just wanting something different and more versatile out of her and Lee Jong-seok.

you said this " I'd really love a drama by that doesn't have to do with the law or journalism...or even politics" and I just realized, it's a merge of IHYV and Pinocchio when it comes to the characters carrers. I do love it, but you're right she needs to come up with something a little different aside from special abilities for her characters, again another merge, bc both of them have the dreaming the future ability.

Hello!
This is actually my first time commenting!! :) I see a lot of people are interested in BTIMFL here. Which is why after dropping by this site, I decided to check it out. I saw 2 episodes today (when I'm supposed to be studying for exams..) and MY GOD I LOVE IT!! I was literally smiling throughout the episodes when there wasn't even real things going on! I just love the actors and their story!! I had to stop because I needed to study! I also started TOL weeks ago and left it after 4 episodes because I was busy but I see a lot of people are enjoying it, too. The Package seems good, too! There are a lot of good dramas right now!!So because I'm busy, I need your help to choose one good drama! I know they're all good but I want something really romantic, intense.. and by romantic I mean those love stories that tug your heartstrings, I really need something like that right now, so please recommend me one, guys! :)

Shows I’m in love with right now - Because This Life Is Our First. (This drama is a gem and every positive adjective you can use to describe something that takes your breath away. Words fail me.)

Shows I love - Andante (who knew Kai could be so good and a teenage drama so realistic?), Witch’s Court ( I love this fierce, feisty, independent heroine),
Hospital Ship (the plot is interesting and the chemistry between the leads is warm, sweet and comforting).

Shows I warmed up to - Go Back Couple (I didn’t expect to like it this much, it’s hearwarming and hysterical!)

Shows I tolerate - While You Are Sleeping (Too much of it has already been done before, so I feel like I’m watching a repeat drama with different actors, and Suzy isn’t a strong enough lead to do justice to this role). The Package (I’m on the fence with this one, I may go back to it, but it somehow fails to hold my interest). Revolutionary Love (The lead characters are way too one dimensional. Could they try layering the characters a bit more?)

Shows I dropped - Temperature of Love (what was the point of this drama again? Why did it become so boring?)

I am watching a lot of shows, but did anyone watch Argon? I binge watched that drama last night, and i absolutely love it ,from the story, to the characters to the direction.

This show really portrayed how exactly reporters should be. I love the male ead, because he really is so upright. He is total opposite of what reporters we see on dramas. He wont bend his principles for anyone not even his superior, and most importantly he is always is on the side of justice. The side of Facts! He is ready to apologize on any mistakes he does and if any person suffers due to his mistake. He scolds his juniors, but he really does train them well. He would be perhaps in the list of best male leads in my book.

I bet this show if aired on a KBS, MBC, or SBS channel, and if aired as a regular drama of 16 ep or 20 ep, this drama would beat a lot of crappy shows that was airing at that time. Sad,that it got only 8 ep. The ending felt a bit short, but overall a nice drama. Plus, i loved the lead's chemistry. I wish there was a teeny bit of romance, but maybe due to huge age gap?

I know that you don't watch nor recap weekend dramas but My Golden Life is so worthy of analysis and discussion and you could really get your teeth into some very meaty analysis. Because This is My First Life and My Golden Life are both dramas that I await with baited breath. Both are just gems in regards to writing and acting.

Currently watching these:

Because This is My First Life: This story is so heartwarming. One minute I am like Wtf is happening, the next moment I am crying in tears, after that I am a but pissed off the characters and after I am laughing my face off. It is such a realistic plot (well maybe not the marriage bit) but the characters are and it makes me happy just watching it.

Temperature of Love: I love Jung Sun’s character. I swoon at him and his intense love and devotion towards Hyun Soo. I need a man like that in my life. I cannot understand the CEO’s character, he seems like an enigma. I don’t understand why he likes HyunSoo, it all seems a bit weird. But I still like the plot.

20th Century Boys and Girls: The characters are so lovely and has got a certain innocence about all of them. Just a nice sit down drama. Not intense at all.

Hospital Ship: I had high expectations for this at the beginning of the show, did not really live up to it. But I am still watching due to Ha Ji Won and Kang Min Hyuk’s dimpled smile.

Revolutionary Love: Completely given up on this. It is too cheesy and too unrealistic. To be honest, a waste of Choi Siwon’s talent since he was incredible in She Was Pretty.

I want to watch ‘When You Were Sleeping’. Is it worth watching?

After Chicago Typewriter ended, I hit k-drama slump. Currently I'm watching The Temperature of Love and Revolutionary Love. Both rom-com with a different touch. So far, not that superb but the cute, sweet vibe in TTOL still make me attach to it (kinda slow to catch up, still in ep 4. Omo!). With Si Won, his slapstick acts is quite okay to ease my tension for a while. See, I need romance and a bunch of laughters to fill my days. Lol

Quoting @lollypip "Lee Jong-seok has never been so adorably dorkalicious, and Suzy is actually GOOD, which just affirms my belief that she’s not a bad actress (and I say that having recapped Uncontrollably Fond ~shudder~)," Agree. I stopped watching UF because of Suzy and didn't even survived throug Dream High's ep 1.

This one I give it another chance bc of the team and Lee Jong Suk and I was surprised to see her do a good job, even when she still have some work to do during emotional crying scenes, she's good in this one. And I also agree with @sailorjumun about Woo Tak and Yoo Bun being interesting even more after last ep, because I got a feeling that there's something between these two in the past maybe. The drama is beautiful in every technical detail and the acting and story too.

I'm also watching TOL, and loving it. And I think Jung woo's character has some serious problems. How do you set as a goal to make your best friend to break up with his long time lover, even when he founds out that he's the guy Hyun Soo has been in love with for so long? Plus, his one sided love is too crazy, she laughed at his face when he said he was coming at her as a man, dude go dig a hole and bury yourself inside.

Because this life is our first is becoming very addictive. It has amazing secondary characters and of course the main characters are so interesting. Even the lone female at Se hee's company, Bomi is interesting. She seems quite aloof and yet she seems to be very focused on everything, and I love her husky voice. It seems surprising that I read somewhere that she's a singer as well.

I just want to say, things really swerved on My Golden Life right after Javabeans gave up on it. My interest in it got renewed.
