Yoon Eun-hye offered new android drama Love Like a Person

It’s been ages since Yoon Eun-hye (Mi-rae’s Choice) has been in a drama (or in any project in Korea, actually), so this news certainly caught my eye: She’s entertaining an offer to star in a new drama, Love Like a Person.
As is so often the case in dramaland, we’re running with another trend of the moment: Love Like a Person is another android drama, and it tells the “miraculous love story” between an artificially intelligent male android and a woman who is 100 percent sensibility. Yoon Eun-hye is up to play Gong Joon-hee, a high school physical education teacher who is all EQ. She happens to meet the man she believed to be her fated match two years later, and is shocked when he says he has no memory of having loved her.
I’m glad that Yoon Eun-hye’s potential role is the human rather than the android, since my first thought upon hearing about the drama was that her biggest asset as an actor is her down-to-earth humanness and I couldn’t imagine her as a robot. She hasn’t necessarily had great luck in her drama projects and her last one was four years ago (2013’s Mi-rae’s Choice), and the public’s reception to her has been decidedly chilly since her plagiarism scandal. But I do think image rehab is possible given the right vehicle, and hopefully her comeback vehicle does better than her previous shows. And while I find it strange that we have all these robot dramas coming out at the same time (I’m Not a Robot, Are You Human Too), at least it isn’t a genre I’m sick of yet.
Love Like a Person will be directed by PD Yoon Sang-ho of Saimdang, Light’s Diary, Bride of the Century, and Tamra the Island. Writing are Go Young-jae and Jeon Yong-sung, who appear to be rookie writers. The drama is looking to air in early 2018, though it hasn’t landed on a schedule yet.

I've loved YEH in everything I've seen her in, she's one of my favourite actresses. It's been so long without her and I'm super excited for her comeback. And, I'm always willing to give new writers a chance since I'm always looking for new writers to add to my stan list. I was wondering if no seasoned writer wanted to work with her and that's why she was going with a rookie. In any wmcase, I hope it gets confirmed even if this drama sounds like the Korean version of Absolute Boyfriend.

She is not accepting it yet. J-Army her agency said that she is still reviewing this along with the other offers.
She doesn't seem interested in coming back yet. In TVN's Dear My Human weeks ago, she said she didn't have plans on coming back yet, so I'd be surprised if she changed her mind.

It's weird, really. Because it was her through her own agency announcing last year (2016) that she would make a comeback in 2017. And everytime news popped up about her, netizens always gave negative feedbacks. She is still remembered fondly among i-fans but the koreans dislike her (as commented by JB in their first or second vlog). So, I wonder if her no interest is actually because she fears the response that been far from positive until now.

Actually it was the media who kept on releasing the news of drama offers ahead of time, then fans would get too excited and post it everywhere before her agency's official statement. Her agency is always late in responding, which is why I really think that she should just stop trying to manage an agency cause obviously, she sucks at it. She needs a powerful agency to handle her career.
Years ago when she was at the peak of her career, so many powerful agencies were fighting over her, but she refused them because she had a bad experience with her previous one...going off on her own was a huge mistake on her part.

As for a comeback, last year, her agency indeed said that there was an offer not sure if drama or movie that she could barely refuse, but we heard that she declined because she was busy overseeing some businesses in Thailand and Korea.
I am sure part of her postponing is also because she fears the public. Her fans know that she is not very brave when it comes to handling such situations.

I don't see why she can't. Park Shi Hoo made a comeback in Neighborhood Hero (OCN) and is now in My Golden Life (KBS). If she isn't able to, I'd be surprised and wonder what is going on in the world.

A few days ago, a beanie asked on her wall who the best kissers are in the KDrama industry. I answered YEH for the female celebrities because Goong was the first Korean drama I've watched and I've liked her ever since. Presently, I feel bad for her because it seems she's not getting the right break with her career. I'm hoping that if she pushes through with this project that it'll be more successful than her last drama.

Did you also read the manga creator's other work, "The Mystery Play"? I think the manga creator has a talent for cooking up the romance between heroines falling in love with "unreal" heroes but at the same time insisting that it's not always possible.

@sooyi nope I didn't! Only went to read the manga after watching the Japanese drama cos.i loved it so much. But found out that the story is slightly different but enjoyed it nonetheless! @sweetsammy Taiwanese version to be exact! Goo Hyesun was the female lead alongside with Jiro Wang!

She's been one of my favorite actresses and I hope she comes back to dramas! I think the last few she did were not that good, but not because of her, but mostly because of the writing. I did like her in Taking Care of the Young Lady and Lie to Me. Anyway, I have high hopes for this future project !

LOL Feels like only one out of ten Korean writers has original ideas, the rest are just recycling it with some changes to look different.

hallelujah! I want her back and find her 'scandal' less than. I hope she will return, but fear she has been burned and hurt so badly she won't. I keep remembering that picture of her scurrying and shielding herself from the paparazzi at the airport...not walking proud and standing up to it and for herself...and thinking how afraid she must have been.

You know when too many dramas in the same genres come out one after another? :)) Yeah it becomes overkill and I lose focus way too easily because they all start blurring together. But it's been ages since I heard about Yoon Eun Hye. The only time I hear her name mentioned in on Running Man lol.

I would love to see Yoon Eunhye come back to TV but I think she would benefit doing more variety before she picks up a drama.
