Drama viewership ratings for the week of Feb. 11-17, 2019

Let’s see how everyone’s shows are doing this week. Monday was full of premieres, with sageuk Haechi, thriller Item, and fantasy romance The Light in Your Eyes. They’re all very different genres, but looking at their ratings, they’re able to stand up on their own. They managed to get higher numbers than their predecessors’ finales.

On Thursday, numbers for What’s Wrong Mr. Poong-sang actually surpassed the popular An Empress’s Dignity. Since the latter had an extension, perhaps viewers are just waiting for things to wrap up; the drama will end its 52-episode run next week. Finally, for the weekend, our last premiere was The Fiery Priest, which came in with 10.4 percent. I guess the thriller priest trend won’t be dead anytime soon.

thriller priest trend - XD, we have the guest to blame for that. But at least he's not an exorcist anymore, that has to count right?

bit sad, that not a lot is watching legal high, its so funny at least for me.

also crowned clown is on a roll, has it reach two digit ratings yet? i'm dreading every time I watch it because for every success the clown achieves, two or three more problems come for him, especially with his sister near, I feel like she is bound to say the wrong thing and get ha--seon in trouble.

and its still in the early episodes so I'm sure reach of sincerity's ratings will go higher from here on out. Must be tough to be in the same time slot as tle

AGB's rating estimate report covers the capital of Korea (Seoul) and through out all of Korea (nationwide).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crowned_Clown

Eps 8: was 10% only in Seoul. Nationwide was 9.4%

It finally reached 10% nationwide yesterday with eps 13.

I am glad Priest did good. It was cartoonish and plot done 99999times, but it was entertaining. Love Honey Lee.

I know romcoms don't do well but I am disappointed with the drop in Reach of Sincerity's ratings. I think they did not do themselves a favor by introducing the villain until the last scene of episode 4. Quarter of the drama is already over people! Most viewers won't give you 4 episodes of credit before tuning out. What were you thinking? Especially when you have two strong competitors like An Empressโ€™s Dignity and Whatโ€™s Wrong Mr. Poong-sang you have to come out of he gate with all your guns blazing. You can't hide your trump card this long, pretend you are only a fluffy romcom and expect people to stick it out to discover otherwise. Sigh.

I do hope that it's not too late for the heightened stakes, the element of fear on behalf of the heroine and the excitement to bring the viewers back.

Haechi looks to have a strong start. If they do well I can only see the ratings go up from there. The Crowned Clown, the other saguk I am watching is also doing quite well.

I am surprised that fluffy romance is doing poorly. I really like Reach of Sincerity, but it is hard to compete with the impending conclusion of The Empress's Dignity (my guilty pleasure).

I have also started The Item, and the Fiery Priest, but the show that I look forward to each week is "Love is a bonus book." I find it really relatable and it keeps getting better. I thought it would be some sort of formula romance, but it is everything I was hoping Pretty Nuna Who Buys Me Food would be. (Still liked that one despite the ending)

Ooh Romance is Bonus Book seems steady at 5%!
I quite like that drama ... reminds me of the Taiwanese drama In Time With You.
The Light in Your Eyes seems to be off to a decent start ... I'm keeping an eye on this, wanting to start if comments stay positive after next week :D

You had me at "In Time With You". Love that drama! If it's anything like that then I'll have to add this to my To Watch list. :O

Legal High is hilarious . If you arent watching it, you are missing. Its very quirky and kind of over the top but it will make you laugh especially Jin Goo !! If you are watching it, dont forget every episode had end credit scene.

I am kind of surprised Mr. Poong-sang is winning in ratings game. It is such frustrating show (then again I am still watching). The only thing I like in the show is Lee Si-young's acting (and her theme song "A buried pain").

Does anyone know what is going on with OCN's licenses abroad? Viki nor Netflix have picked them up recently in the US, and I could really use a good dark crime show.

The Crowned Clown is doing very well. To break 8.0 on a cable channel is amazing. I really love the drama and it has become my favorite. Yeo Jin Goo is giving an award winning performance, such a talented actor and being so young he just blows me away.
