A warm encounter begins a first love story in A Moment at Eighteen

Ong Sung-woo (formerly of Wanna One) and Kim Hyang-gi’s (Innocent Witness) first meeting is captured in this first teaser clip for youth drama A Moment at Eighteen. The precarious and inexperienced world of adolescence will be presented in this drama, showing a time when you could be passionate about even the small things in life.

Ong Sung-woo plays the role of a teenager named Choi Joon-woo, who despite his lonely daily life, is hardy and persevering. He has an awkward charm because of his difficulty in expressing his emotions. Kim Hyang-gi plays Yoo Soo-bin, a model student who dreams of becoming independent from her helicopter mom who controls everything she does. When Soo-bin approaches Joon-woo with an open heart and mind, he begins to open the door to his heart for her.

The teaser begins with Soo-bin in her school uniform calling out to Joon-woo, “You in the checkered shirt,” and asking if he’s alright. She motions for him to follow her arm movement to prove that he’s okay. He follows her and shows a small smile, to which she also smiles in response. Overlaid against this scene, we hear Joon-woo’s narration say, “Somehow this moment, somehow eighteen.”

JTBC’s Monday-Tuesday drama A Moment at Eighteen will begin airing on July 22.

Yeah, definitely trying this one. Might as well mix a Korean youth drama in with all the Chinese ones I'm watching.

It is a recent thing, so really only two: Put Your Head on my Shoulder and My Youth.
I'm part of the way through Somewhere Only We Know on Netflix. It has a different feel to it but I like the heroine and her friends. Is a big age difference and power imbalance for the ML and FL if that bothers you.
A Love So Beautiful, to me, was wonderful.
Some I want to start are Suddenly This Summer, Le Coup de Foudre, and See You in Time....a Tawainese drama I believe.

@kimbapnoona & @hades probably have some really good recs if they pop in.

@bcampbell1662 I really liked My Youth and Put Your Head on My Shoulder. I also just finished Somewhere Only We Know (like, I stayed up WAY too late last night because I just wanted to finish it!) and I liked it, but you're right - it does have a different tone. A Love So Beautiful was fantastic! I really like Le Coup de Foudre. It was one of my favorites this spring. I liked it better than Put Your Head on My Shoulder, even. I watched a Taiwanese campus/time travel drama a year or so ago called Love, Timeless that I really liked.

I'll have to look Love, Timeless up. Campus and time travel could be fun.

I stumbled upon this teaser on youtube and it looks so damn cute! I really liked her in Drunk in Good Taste so I am looking forward to this drama. Plus I am a sucker for the guy that have difficulty in expressing his emotions.

I will watch this for Ong Sung Woo. Now how perfect would it be if Kang Daniel could cameo in this drama. #ongniel

So this ended. That quick. Mondays and Tuesdays will be emptier now. This literally impacted my emotions. Going back to this post after watching the whole drama, I realized that I did not expect that much but I ended up crying my heart out until the last second of the last episode. Like, why? Why does this need to end.

Yes, warm welcome for everyone, esp.2-Leads...some touchy/torturous scenes of pre-judgment on newbie-transferee... that's why his righteous retort abt-lying is refreshing: a principled boy, now!
