Jang Nara runs out of time in new Oh My Baby teaser

Jang Nara (VIP) panics in the recently released 30-second teaser for tvN’s Oh My Baby. She plays an editor for a childcare magazine who desperately wants a child of her own, but without the marriage part.

In the teaser, a TV announcer reports that there isn’t much time for this urgent situation. Jang Nara brings out a pink suitcase, and begins stuffing it with all sorts of baby toys and stuffed animals. Her last thought is to pack her wedding dress, when the reflection of a tornado is seen on her window.

Then, someone calls her name gently, prying her back to reality. From the medical textbook and uterus figurine on the desk, it seems that she’s with her OB/GYN. He tells her that there isn’t much time and that she needs to decide now; the hourglass on his desk adds to the time-sensitivity of the situation. She slowly smiles and says: “Should I skip the marriage part then?”

In the last scene, she wheels a baby stroller down a hallway toward three men who look equally horrified by the enormous grin on her face. The three men are played by Jung Geon-joo (Extraordinary You), Go Joon (Fiery Priest), and Park Byung-eun (Kingdom 2). The teaser closes out with Jang Nara’s announcement: “Wedlock baby romance Oh My Baby begins May 6.”

In addition to the teaser, several posters for the drama have been released. In the one above, Jang Nara reads a book in the tub on how to find a good dad (or maybe sperm donor?) while the caption says: “Marriage? Not for me. I’m just going to have a kid.” Her three potential picks for dad are on the covers of the magazines littered on the floor.

In the second poster, all four main characters lie close together, with the caption reading: “Our relationship… shall we take it a little faster?” The Jang Nara solo poster has a dramatic aura, as she ponders: “Shall I skip marriage?”

The pink background posters are more about introducing the potential dads, but Jang Nara is in each, holding a black button. In Go Joon’s, he charismatically holds a camera, showing off his character’s professional background as a photographer. The text above reads: “An unwavering bachelor. I am Han Yi-sang.”

In the next poster, Park Byung-eun puts the diaphragm of his toy stethoscope on Jang Nara’s head, while the caption reads: “Carefree single dad and guy friend. I am Yoon Jae-young.” In Jung Geon-joo’s poster with Jang Nara, she lays her sullen face on his head to press the button. The caption reads: “A model new employee. I am Choi Kang Eu-Ddeum.”

Wednesday-Thursday tvN drama Oh My Baby, directed by Nam Ki-hoon and written by Noh Sun-jae, will begin airing on May 6.

Jang Nara picks great scripts so i'm gonna try it out even if the premise doesn't really wow me much...Must say that Go Joon really resembles Shawn Dou in this pics

The premise seems like it should be 8 episodes long but that's exactly whats makeing me curious, what would be in store for the audience for the whole show?

I'm here for this. I'd kind of wished since it is a romance that theyd had her decide to be a mom on her own because that is not the only reason to get married not because she doesnt want to get married.
I am really curious about how they will approach this.

In anticipation for this, I've been watching old Jang Nara dramas. Wedding (2005) is a good one, about a young rich woman who marries a poor diplomat that she meets on a arranged marriage date. Unfortunately, I couldn't get into "Baby-Faced Beauty" (2011) about a woman in her mid-30s who pretends to be younger to get a job at a fashion company.

I enjoyed Wedding, too, one of her best early works. She's certainly been through all kinds of dysfunctional marriages in dramaland...

I would like to thank the Drama Gods for giving Jang Na-ra a romcom, where she doesn't get divorced or have her husband cheat on her.

In Wedding, one of her earliest dramas, she played a girl who married a guy who was in love with another woman. It was a terrific drama, slow and sad and filled with yearning.

I can imagine the angst in that drama and how great Jang Na-ra's performance was.

Kidding aside, I do think Jang Na-ra is brilliant in choosing her projects and can pull off almost anything, even being a high school student at 40.

One of my favourite actresses. Loved her in Fated to Love You. She played the wife of a man who loved somebody else. I cried so many times for her. She has played the Spurned Wife so often, in Wedding, TLE and VIP. In Go Back Spouses, she was the unhappy wife. Every role was unique, and she broke my heart each time.

Cracked up so bad on Jang Na-ra's pacifier wedding ring!
Go Joon sure shed his gangster mode here. Not that fond of the quadrangle love premise, but the cast is hard to resist.

I've been looking forward to JN's pairing with Park Byung-eun since the casting news first came out cuz I really like the actor. I thought he was gonna be the first ML (the best friend that FLs usually end up with), but turns out he's the second. I'm curious what they'll do with their storyline.
I hope this is a broader comedy than One More Happy Ending.
